  1. Hey, the guide is great! I'm using it to make sure i don't miss pokemon and items during my playthrough, because the methods can be pretty esoteric sometimes. I really don't want any heads up for relationship/story choices though, and I feel like there's going to be a lot more people with a similar attitude. Could we possibly get a spoiler-free version of this guide with relationship/story choices removed?

  2. Update: I'm up to the development stage now. Xamarin.forms hasn't been treating me exceedingly kindly so far, but I'm managing, the main problem I'm facing is data. It's taking forever to collect it, and I'm struggling to come up with a structure that I'm satisfied with. I'm thinking probably keep the level of detail in each json file to a minimum, and reference between them, so the locations json file only contains the IDs of pokemon and their levels/times of day and whatever and everything else is taken from separate files referencing pokemon themselves. Still, it's exceedingly easy to decide on something that will come to be totally useless in time.

Some of those questions could benefit from a "Not applicable" answer.

Most of the follow up questions, in fact.

Do you ever use Discord? NO.

Do you find using Discord helpful? Neither answer would be correct here.

The followup questions were left optional, maybe i should have made that more clear

  4. Wow folks, taken aback at how helpful you've all been in the last optional field. I didn't know about the PBS files until now! I was initially going to have to compromise on a lot of more data heavy features at least for now (considering it's a thing I'm handing in for school) but now we'll see what I can do! Probably won't be regular updates or anything from now till then (unless I'm in need of feedback) but you'll hear from me in the coming months

  5. Hi Reborn, for my software development class final project I'm making a Reborn companion app meant to be a comprehensive reference for things like item locations, pokemon locations, gym teams, etc. I'm thinking of having more detailed guides for the more elaborate events in Reborn, if I have the time.

I need to collect some data from the players on what they think of the game, and how they search for info when playing,
so I'd really really appreciate it if anyone could put a minute aside to answer a very short survey for me. Thank you!

  6. I've been a massive fan and shill of Reborn for a good while now.

I find nearly everything about its' design to be absolutely incredible.

The way that the gameplay is designed and meticulously managed with each new episode,

The characters and writing which speak of an incredible writing talent within the team but also a great deal of personal hardship and struggle with identity which is channeled into it

The world which varies immensely in mood and aesthetic that is absolutely fucking bursting with things to find and do

And not at all least the incredible consistency and diligence of the team in creating new content and polishing old content despite the massive scope of the game, and succeeding despite the incredible challenge

I love this game so much that for a long time I've wanted to break into game review/analysis/video essay creation purely so I can explain why exactly this game is not Tumblrmon or Edgemon as /vp/ would have it. I doubt I'll get there any time soon if ever because man it's hard to organise and even locate my thoughts on the specifics of why this game is so amazing, but because I've been thinking about it so much I wanted to hand the question over to you:

What do you love about Reborn?

I look forward to hearing what you all have to say about it. For me, honestly I couldn't choose, because everything about Reborn (sans the sometimes dubiously difficult "puzzles") contributes to the incredible totality of it. But the field effect system is a feature so incredibly effective in creating unique fights, requiring out of the box thinking by the player, and creating incredible "aha!" moments (breaking Serra's mirrors comes to mind) that I think it's a travesty that we'll probably never see it in the main games past the basic terrain moves.

  7. I totally get what whoever implemented them was going for, but oh my god please remove the slowdown from traversing sand dunes. Not only does it make traversing the huge desert way slower, it also makes my eyes and brain hurt from the constant speed up slow down. Let me buy a dune buggy or something, I plan on doing a new playthrough next episode and i really don't want to go through this pain again

  8. I've actually gotten past this before, but my friend is playing and we can't remember where to go to find Luna after she was kidnapped by Elias.

He doesn't have the crystal plug, he hasn't gone to that cultist place, and according to him the last thing he was told to do is go to 7th street.

  9. Interesting graphics, and gimmicks, I especially love the delta species.

Problems, the story is boring, the characters are uninteresting, the wild encounters are too forgiving (Water starters in one of the first routes???) and I've had many many instances of being able to walk through terrain, so it's rather buggy.

Has a long way to go.

  11. This looks pretty cool! Although I'm not the best battler I have some knowledge and a little experience with competitive battling, and having the gimmick of type restrictions will make things a lot more interesting, I'm sure.

One question though, what are your restrictions on team members? Do you ban certain Pokemon by their Smogon tier (pls no) or have a blanket ban on legendaries (pls yes) or no ban whatsoever?

  12. I like your topic title. 10/10! Nice to meet you, Voyd!

    Welcome to Reborn!

Feel free to take a cookie to your left; but not the cake.

    ISH MINEEEEEEEEE

I've had enough cake today to not even want it.

    Welcome there, Billy!

Hope you enjoy your stay at Reborn.

    Thanks ;)

Oh my, yet another 15-year-old Australian from Melbourne.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Welcome, Billy, and enjoy your stay at Reborn!

Not entirely sure where you were going with this Viri, but thank you.

    PS: Puns are lowest tier

  13. Hey Billy. All Blacks are better than Wallabies and Marmite is better than Vegemite. My work here is done.

    Welcome to the forums

    "Marmite is better than Vegemite"

    FIGHT ME

Hey there, Welcome to Reborn! I saw you on the Showdown server earlier. You seemed cool to talk to.

    Enjoy your stay!

    P.S. Nice Goodravatar

    Thank you and thank you.

Well that was an odd title.

But, hey 15 year old from Melbourne is good if I may say so myself. I can tell you from experience that you'll be judged on your merits rather than on your age.

While you're here if you could quickly check out the Community Rules, that'd be great!!!

    Hope to see you around!

Thank you, so far it does seem I'm being treated nicely despite my age.

I've already taken the time to read the guidelines, and I hope to see you around too

  14. Okay, hello!

My name is Voyd, but you can also call me by my real name, Billy, I'm fine with both!

I'm turning 15 on May the 29th, which probably makes me one of the youngest members of the forums, but I hope you'll judge me on my character rather than my age.

    I hail from Melbourne, Australia!

Obviously, since I'm here, I'm a fan of Pokemon. I watched the anime since I was 3, and had a pretty sweet denim jacket with Pikachu on it back then. I played my first game (Diamond) when I was 6.

I was drawn to Reborn for a few reasons.

One, I was waiting impatiently for a new Pokemon game after ORAS, which I didn't enjoy very much.

Two, I wanted a challenge that wasn't self-imposed and encouraged creative team building. Let's face it, all Nuzlocke does is stress you out, and the battles aren't satisfying because they are just as unchallenging as before.

Although I'm up to date as of Episode 15, and have been playing since late last year, I've joined the community to keep as up to date with progress as possible, and get to know people. While I probably won't be in the Showdown chat often (because I forget about things a lot) I obsessively check my e-mail so anyone giving me a yell on the forums will get a prompt response from me. I love it when people go out of their way to have a chat, and that's what I'm here for, to make a few friends!

I like chat in any form, be it small talk or a heated debate (I apologise for any arguments I am sure to get into/already have)

Anyway, I look forward to hanging out with you all.
