  1. Adding to Lone's reply, the new dev blog they just released says that they aren't completely sure how the game will function if you boot up a save that was created before E19 came out if it is not at the end of the E18 story. So there may be some bugs you encounter due to things being a bit inconsistent between the two versions. Their suggestions are to either finish the story in E18 and then move to E19 (they normally say how to do this safely in the new version download) or to just restart the game. I am personally planning to just restart the game since it is adding new content to the early game including an entirely new character (rival? antagonist? not sure). That said, I last played through the game several years ago when E18 came out so I also forgot a lot of story beats that replaying will help me remember. So it may be less enjoyable for you to restart. Up to you there.

  2. I just did this event on a new save file a few days ago, and that is definitely where this one was. It's possible its bugged for you. I would double check the other two locations and make sure that you are not missing one of the other one, then post your save file in the savefile troubleshooting thread:

I just beat the fifth gym in Rejuvenation and went onwards to the next part of the game. Then the fight on the bridge started to kick my teeth in. I did eventually manage to beat it, with a bit of changes to party order, use of sitrus berries and some luck. Note: I am also playing on set mode with no items allowed (normal difficulty too), so potion spamming is out of the question...

I already beat the 5th gym, the water one. First line bud lol.

Right, I just wasn't sure which type the 5th gym was, its been a while since I did a playthrough. First line only said which gym was beaten, not which one it was. Hope the suggestions help!

  4. I don't have many suggestions, but is the 5th gym Valarie? If so, the help center in the next town should offer a Magnemite as a reward which is always one of my best pokemon in a playthrough since it is pretty tanky and gets sturdy. I would personally replace Oricorio with that. In general, if you are having survivability issues, a tanky pokemon would help a lot, especially since it seems like you dont have any. So maybe an Umbreon? you can always get more Eevee through breeding. With the way you're playing, it may be helpful to have more than 6 pokemon ready to fight and swap them out as needed.

  5. In terms of other games to play, I would add to the suggestion above: Desolation, Insurgence, and Empyrean. All of these I have finished and enjoyed along the same lines as Rejuvenation.

Desolation is a newer game, so it is a bit less finished (I think its at around 7-8 badges? not completely sure). This game is modeled after Reborn and Rejuvenation by the creator's own words. This one is one par with Reborn and Rejuvenation for me.

Empyrean is another of the older ones, and seems like it still has more updates planned (I'm not sure if that's really the case, I haven't been following very closely), but it is implemented well into the post game.

Insurgence is a bit of an older game and has been finished for a while now. In my opinion, the story is not as good as Rejuvenation, Reborn, and Desolation, but still good in its own right.

  6. The I'm not sure which is which (Not sure what the order I got them was), but one of the two you're missing is behind a waterfall in Keneph Jungle. Be persistent and you'll find it. The other is inside the cave in Redcliff Town.

  7. I currently have from a new play through (just beat the 6th gym, so not yet complete) the mega stones for Banette, Houndoom, Venusaur, Sharpedo, and Manectric.

Not sure if some of the ones you get change between V4 and V5 though.

  8. Another thing to keep in mind is that they will likely also not be the only team working on this. I remember for gen 7 the reborn team was also working on the gen 7 pokemon and they collaborated with each other to get the task finished. So yes it will be a lot of work, but its more of a fan game community effort, not just a rejuvenation team effort. As Illumi mentioned, the larger effort is going to be updating the existing world with these new pokemon, not creating the assets themselves.

  9. I was able to walk through the right side of this building in the dream district and walk on the lower section of the building

    BuildingBug.PNG

Edit: found a few more in the shopping district that can be walked up from the bottom of the building on the north side

  10. Depends on what you're going for! Strength wise, I would go with Torchic, Chimchar, Froakie, or possibly Snivy (all with their hidden abilities).

But if strength is not your aim, I would go random! It adds an element of surprise and a bit of challenge/excitement as well if you've never used that starter before!

The issue isn't the buildup, it's the way the "correct" choice was phrased. If you pick "do nothing" then Melia proceeds to explain Melanie's entire plan then she goes SSJ and fixes the alternate world before going back giving you the "good" ending (for V10 at least). When I read the choice, I expected that "do nothing" meant Melia would stand there indecisively which would probably be the worst thing she could do in the situation. That's my main problem with that part specifically.

One possible fix would be making the 3rd option say "pick neither" which still wouldn't be ideal but at least it implies that Melia will proactively decide to try and save both worlds rather than sacrifice either world to save the other.

I read this completely differently when I was presented with this choice. Melanie explicitly told you that you were not allowed to do nothing. By then choosing to do nothing, you prove that she has no power in this situation and you are calling her bluff. Which Melia then explains. It avoids the option that makes you look like a terrible person for dooming that reality (running) and you aren't giving up by choosing the option to hand over Melia. What I'm trying to get at is that situation can be read completely differently based on how you approach the situation. That's what I enjoy about that decision. it can be viewed completely differently by the player, and people then have their own opinions on what the right one is. As such, I wouldn't change a thing there, as it gives the player the ability to read into the situation as they wish.

I also may have just been like "!@#$ you, you can't tell me what to do!"

i would imagine we will still be able to continue from out v10 save files if one is present when v11 is released yes? or will we have to start from scratch and also a big thing im sure a few people at least, me being one of them is curious about is are there plans for more badges to be obtainable in v11 and if so how many?

You should be able to continue with your own save even when a new version is released.

That said, many people choose to restart anyway because there are generally changes to the game's past versions whether it's minor story updates as the story gets more fleshed out, or because an entire zone got revamped (take Amethyst cave and route 2 in V9 or Wispy ruins in V10). It's also possible to see things they missed the first time, or to make different decisions in a new play through. For example, I took the Erin route on my normal playthrough, and during a recent Intense playthrough, I took the Flora route.

Mostly lines up with what I've been thinking. Erin is a decent candidate for being a light, and I think Kanon could probably actually go either way (because we do have him, or some version of him, giving Vivian the spell to prevent the first storm-9, among other things).

The player as the interceptor feels more like an independent party, a 'wild card' of sorts, and could potentially be the decider of which of the two prophecies come to pass (unless they both do).

I think Indriad/Gardevoir are also good candidates for one of the shadows.

I'm not feeling spacia/tiempa/cosmia/comet as candidates, though maybe if Griselda shows up in some capacity, she could be the shadow of greed or something.

there are also some other mysterious characters to consider, like the 'father' that's been referred to a couple times in connection with Yveltal/blacksteeple, and the redhead time traveller in V-1

    Spoiler

I do agree that Kanon could go either way, but I think his diary in the past claims that he had human parents, so I'm not sure he could be a light. This is another thing that I meant to bring up. I'm not sure that the darknesses are purposely going to bring about the end of the world, just that they will be responsible. This means that someone could have all the best intentions, but wind up being a darkness. Hence why I think Ren and Crescent have the potential to be darknesses. I don't think either of them wants to destroy the world, but they might do so unintentionally.

This was another thought that I had as well, where the Interceptor could almost be a third prophecy that we just don't know about yet. I personally believe the interceptor will be a light. I think that both are equally possible though and only time will tell which comes to pass.

Indriad is possible, but I lump him in with Angie since there was a short hidden cutscene before we fight Angie that showed Anju and Indriad essentially fusing together to form Angie.

I agree that those 4 are very unlikely, but I threw them in there because as far as we know, they could fit the bill.

I may have missed the mention of "father" was that in alternate timeline Blacksteeple, or when we first went there? I'm still not sure what to make of the time traveler in V-1. I want to see if she shows up in the main story before making any judgements on her.

Fortune Teller: "There lies on top the castle you (MC) and 3 other of your friends fight against a woman wearing armor. One with a heart of gold, one who leads others and one who fights for a lost loved one." Just something to think about. My assumption of the 4 lights. (Fortune Tellers words of the future in GDC, missing childen sidequest)

    Spoiler

I remember reading somewhere that this refered to the alternate timeline in V10, but reading through it now, I'm not sure that's the case. It doesn't seem to fit, especially since we were fighting with Madame X (the woman in armor) not against.

  14. So I recently started a run through on intense mode, and now that I'm nearly finished with it, I thought that I would do some speculation on the prophecies of Light and Dark. That said, this will contain spoilers on V10 and minor spoilers for Episode -1, so the rest of this post will be in a spoiler. Read ahead at your own risk, you have been warned. This is a bit long winded, but I think is an interesting conversation to have. I apologize if this is currently being discussed elsewhere, but I did not see another post for this that occurs after V10.

    Spoiler

I am going to assume that anyone reading this knows the prophecies of Light and Dark, if not, go to the hidden library and find the plaque there where both are listed. Please note that this is my own speculation, and will not necessarily wind up being the case. We currently know nothing about the lights other than they are not born of man. However, we do know a bit amount about the darknesses other than they are born of man.

At Blacksteeple Castle, we can find what is essentially a second verse or addendum to the Prophecy of Dark. This states that the four darknesses embody certain attributes. These being pure evil, obsession, betrayal, and greed. Based off the events of V10, it is fairly obvious that Nim (Lorna) is the darkness of pure evil. This is again confirmed by Damien who states that she is evil and will bring about the end of the world. It is possible that Madame X is instead the darkness of pure evil, but at this point I feel much more confident saying that Nim is this darkness.

The next darkness that we have information on is the darkness of betrayal. Based on the current events of the game, we are led to believe that the darkness of betrayal is Ren given that he betrays our trust and joins Team Xen. It is stated by the admins present when he joins that he fits the bill of the darkness of betrayal. However, I believe that there is a second possibility. I believe that it is possible that Crescent could be this darkness as well. She betrayed everyone who knows about the past by splitting off from the group and going rogue. She is the one who sets Ren on his path of betrayal as well as Nim by modifying her memories and naming her Lorna. This would make her not only commit acts of betrayal, but inspire acts of betrayal in others, which would be exactly what we might expect the darkness of betrayal to do.

We know considerably less about the darknesses of obsession and greed than the other two. A few candidates that I have for obsession are Kanon, Angie and possibly Crescent if she does not wind up being the darkness of betrayal. Kanon fits the bill in my opinion due to his obsession over Melia. Plus we see him storm off in V10, which may set him on a path against the main group. Angie also fits the bill for obvious reasons here due to here fanatical obsession over Arceus and the Church of Theolia (I think this is what it is called, but I may be mistaken). Finally, Crescent's obsession with the destruction of Team Xen could lead her to being the darkness of obsession. As for greed, we don't have anyone that really fits the bill here. Its possible that Thomas Blakeory could fit the bill here based on what little we saw of him in this version, but that is a bit of  a stretch. We at least know that the Blakeory family does not have a great track record. In the same vein, Saki could fit the bill here, but in my opinion, that is an even larger stretch as we have no reason to believe that she is a darkness. These two darknesses are still very much up for debate, and I would love to hear some other opinions on them.

Moving onto the lights, based on the events of V10, it is all but outright stated that both Melia and Aelita are two of the lights. Both are not born of man and have displayed a high degree of inhuman power. I'm not even sure if this is debatable anymore, but feel free to discuss on whether they are or not. The more interesting discussion on the lights to be had though, is who the other two lights are. My theories on this are that they are either Spacea and Tiempa, Cosmia and Comet, or the main protagonist (the player) and Erin. Spacea and Tiempa fit the bill here as they are both not born of man and have considerable power as we have seen time and again. Cosmia and Comet we have seen very little of, but they have shown displays of power that we might expect of two of the lights (although Comet seems to be having issues with his powers).

The player and Erin I think are the most likely to be the remaining lights in my opinion. The main player has been shown to be unable to die (a trait seemingly shared by Aelita through reincarnation, and Melia with different versions of her existing and Angie being unable to sacrifice her) and has been referred to as the Interceptor. I believe that name is a result of something similar to the second verse of the Prophecy of Dark. There is likely a second verse to the Prophecy of Light that lists characteristics of the lights. The interceptor is one of those, in my opinion. Finally, it is very likely that the player was not born of man since it is all but stated that the player's mom is a robot programmed to protect the player.

As for Erin, this is a bit of a stretch. (I have not gotten to this point in my most recent play through, so forgive me if I get some details wrong here.) Erin previously states that Souta is his grandfather, but it is later revealed that Souta only ever married Cella, and they don't seem to have children, or we would have seen them in Episode -1 when she moved to Sheridan. This makes it impossible for Souta to be Erin's grandfather (unless she is adopted, but that doesn't interfere with where I am going with this). Since we don't know where she came from, or who her parents are, it is entirely possible she was not born of man. As for her powers, they may lie dormant similar to Melia's and Aelita's. This one is also a stretch, and has very little backing evidence, but is a possibility.

Finally, I want to talk about the Prophecies themselves, more specifically, how they will come about. At face value, it seems that they are both opposite from each other and both cannot happen. This makes sense since one predicts the destruction of the world, and the other the salvation of it. I am of the opinion that both prophecies must come to pass. In this scenario, I believe that the darknesses will bring about the end of the world, and that only through the power of the lights will the world be saved. Similar to the do nothing ending of the alternate reality created in V10 where Melia saves the world. It will be through the power of the lights that the world is saved after the darknesses have destroyed it.

In short, my opinions on the lights and darknesses are as follows:

Darknesses: Nim (Pure Evil), Crescent (Betrayal), Kanon (Obsession), Thomas Blakeory or some unintroduced character (Greed)

Lights: Melia, Aelita, the Player (the Interceptor), Erin

I have rambled on long enough, but I would love to discuss this theory with anyone who has read this far. Who do you thing the lights and darknesses are and why? Please feel free to bring up anything I missed or got wrong!

  15. This looks like a good team to me, but I would probably add a fairy/ice type to the mix (or at least a move of that type) to deal with dragon types (I personally use Abomasnow for this), and possibly a steel or poison type to deal with fairy types. I would recommend picking up Magnezone as its very tanky and the steel/electric combo is very powerful!

You should be able to buy Apophyll Pancakes in Route 3. I already had A-Raichu against Marianette.

Well that is unfortunate. I held off on replacing my Pikachu until Terajuma before I looked up how to evolve it. I only saw that it was available in Nightmare City. Wish I had seen it was available there too...

  17. I am currently doing an intense run right now, and the best ones I have found are Dawn Lycanroc, Magnezone, and Swoobat. Each of these guys has trivialized fights on their own.

Lycanroc with Rock Slide is insane in the double battle gyms with the flinch chance. There were times that no one could move for multiple turns.

Magnezone has a great moveset and is all around tanky.

Swoobat with simple and calm mind is able to completely sweep gym leaders if you can get it to set up on a special attacker.

Also, while at Blacksteeple Castle, make sure to pick up an Abomasnow. I would not have beaten 2 gym leaders without it.

Other than that, just try to get a decent nature, and ev training is always worthwhile. Good luck!

Also, side note on the A-Raichu that someone mentioned above, you cant get the item to evolve Pikachu until GDC, so I might not bank on that personally.

the northern one on the evergreen island itself I thought was fine. I thawed it to get in, then took the strength boulder all the way down, and the pool at the bottom completely froze over with a single cracked spot. is this bugged/unfinished, or am I just missing something?

With the north cave, if you take the boulder down to the bottom and jump down the hole the boulder does down, you find the ice on the  pool is broken with a small surf area. not really sure what to do from that point though there is also an area in this cave to get glaceon if anyone wants it

Honestly, I didn't find Souta to be that difficult?

Granted he hella caught me off guard on my first attempt and his Skarmory tore through half of my team, but Alolan Raichu destroyed his team with the field boost on the 2nd try. Of course there were some chinks with the Dragonite, but I just stalled it out with Claydol and Cosmic Power. I think that Swanna and Unfezant need to be replaced given their awful stats and really shallow movepools (more @ Unfezant), but even something like a Noivern with Hurricane and Tailwind would have been better. I have no idea what his signature move was since he didn't use it at all, but I didn't find the battle to be too hard, although I did get lucky with a few dumb AI mistakes.

    Spoiler

I definitely agree. I took him down on maybe my second try? My Magnezone hard countered all of his team except Mega Pidgeot (heat wave). Even then, my Cofagrigus  took it down without issue with destiny bond. Maybe my team just hard countered his, idk, but I don't think its a hard fight to counter, and is certainly easier than Angie in my eyes.
