  1. I might switch to linux soon. Which operating systems have the lag you're talking about? I'm mainly concerned about Debian and Ubuntu.

It seems to be WINE itself, but it also appear to be system specific, most people will not get it.

  2. What towns/wards are you moving between? What do you mean by the game freezes on the border? Screenshots will definitely help us to find out what's wrong.

It freezes between obsidia and opal wards. I cant pull up any menus or anything like that, I become "stuck" and am unable to move to at all. it freezes my first step into opal ward.

  3. Nothing has worked so far. I have Windows 8.1. It is a clean install with all the proper drivers.

Okay, first off press F1 and ensure the play BGM box is ticked.

If that doesn't work I'm not 100% sure how to fix it, but these are some things I've heard of working in the past.

One thing which I think has fixed it for some people is trying running the game as an administrator (it is a stretch but possible I guess).

Then the only other thing I've seen work (mind you in topics from like 2013), is downloading this codex thing. http://www.free-code...ck_download.htm

However, I've never used this link, so I can't guarantee that it works (and I hope that the download is safe), so before using it I'd get your antivirus to have a look, as I don't want any malware getting onto your computer :(

I'm not sure if any of these work, so let me know if they don't.

It seems that link is dead, do you have another?

  4. It seems like downloading windows media player fixes this issue, so if you are having a similar problem give that a try.

I have no music in game. I am using windows 8.1.

EDIT::All the files are there, the Mixer shows normal volume, and the game is not muted.

EDIT 2 :: Reborn now does not show up in the mixer at all.

  5. Hey everyone, I’m going to help you play reborn on you favorite Linux box. I have personally tried this on Debian, Fedora, Gentoo, and Arch. Its plain and simple for us.

We will be using WINE to run reborn for us. (There is no need to remove any files like the Mac version.) Its just a simple few steps.

Keep in Mind I can not place pictures for this at this moment due to my personal system.

Step One: Open up your favorite terminal program.

Step Two: This is where the distros will differ a bit.

Arch- Issue a “sudo pacman -Syu” then a “sudo pacman -S Wine"

Debian- Issue a “sudo apt-get update” then a “sudo apt-get install wine”

Ubuntu-same as above, (not personally tested, you may need to add a PPA)

Gentoo- Please make sure you know what version is stable for your system and your packages are all up to date, then emerge wine into your system.

Fedora 23- Issue a “sudo dnf update” then a “sudo dnf install wine”

Fedora 24-same as above. ( I have NOT personally tested this one, it may be unstable)

Step Three: Right click on the downloaded reborn zip file and extract the internal folder to where you would like it. ( I personally use my documents folder, aka /home/%USER%/Documents"

Step Four: Go into the newly extracted files and right click the game.exe file and run it with WINE.

Step Five: Let wine Configure itself.

    Step Six: Enjoy!!

Feel free to PM with any problems. If I can help I will,

EDIT: I will be testing more distributions, and more diverse installs of linux over time, and I will note any problems I come across.

    Known Bugs---

Bug:you get an error of "failed to initialize directx audio"

Solution: install lib32-alsa-libs and lib32-alsa-plugins packages.

    Bug: laging like crazy

Solution:TBD ( I am experimenting on my system to find some way to fix this)

Edit:this is a "random bug" not all systems will experience it.(most will not)

    Bug:no sound

Solution: check if your using pulse audio, if not I recommend installing it.
