  1. Okay, so basically I had to make a completely new team for it.

    2 infiltrator crobat with tailwind

    protean greninja

    magnezone

    gengar

meowstic male to set up screens

It's a bit of a slog. I think that if I'd gotten a sticky web galvantula from the mystery egg, my life would've been a bit easier, but c'est la vie.

  2. Somewhat disappointed that Cinderace doesn't learn Slash and Burn. If the wiki is accurate, it would mean that it's the only fire starter not to learn it.

I understand that Libero might give it somewhat of an advantage compared to, for example, blaziken with the move, but greninja can learn the move even with protean.

    Oh well, c'est la vie.

Does it still give extra karma points for defeating her?

Not entirely sure, tbh. I don't really know how to check that.

That being said, Intense Mode Neved becomes super easy with a Cinderace. 120 base power stab physical fire move, the ability to breed sucker punch onto it with the static nidoran male encounter, the ability to learn tm poison sweep, and finally double kick.

Just make sure your Cinderace is female, otherwise it won't be as easy a time cause of the lack of priority from sucker punch.

  4. So, I actually managed to beat Yveltal after specifically tailoring a team in anticipation.

The way to go seems to be:

    Spoiler

2 cursed body mons. Cursed body, at most, lasts roughly 3 turns, just enough to decimate 2/3rds of your team

Use of sturdy. Each hit when Yveltal is struggling gives it the same amount of recoil, irrespective of how much damage it actually deals.

My win condition was the use of froslass (obtained from a shadow snorun) and a banette, along with a sturdy mon.

I'd contemplated using a modified FEAR strategy, but it became quickly apparent that it wouldn't work. Given that the new Yveltal's battle format has shields, endeavour doesn't do much to reduce its HP unless you break its shields beforehand, which I hadn't managed to do.

So yeah, double cursed body + sturdy seems to be the way to go.

    It's difficult, but not impossible

    Good luck.

  5. So, I realize that this is largely for new mons, but does anyone actually know where normal budew/roselia or lycanroc can be found?

Also, I heard that Froakie is available through the aquarium quest. I'm unfamiliar with that- how many badges do I need to trigger it?

  6. So, in anticipation of V13's release, I've been planning a colour-themed run. My chosen colour: blue.

To get the complete experience, I recoloured the female trainer sprite's hair.

I figured I'd share them with you guys, in case someone else wanted to do something similar, or just preferred the blue aesthetic to the pink one.

This is basically my first attempt at pixel art, so sorry if they're not the best quality.

  7. Hey! Sorry to bump this thread unnecessarily in the event that you've already fixed this (minor) bug but haven't gotten around to updating the mod, or something.

When interacting with the machine to generate an egg in Rejuvenation, the game crashes if you have a full party. It's easy enough to avoid, but after losing a ton of progress a couple of times because I lost count I decided to mess around with the code to prevent it.

Basically, I just copied this small conditional branch from the daycare man that stops you from collecting an egg if the party's full.

    copied.PNG.b437ec260d6419aec0ee83db3bd735ee.PNG

Other than that, the mod is excellent! It's certainly saved me a lot of hours' worth of breeding, so thanks a lot! You're a hero!

  8. So, given the choice between these two grass/poison types, which mon would you put on your team?

Roserade seems particularly interesting, imo, because it fits the hard-hitting glass cannon style my team centers around. It also learns a lot of diverse moves, such as toxic, shadow ball, extrasensory, dazzling gleam and toxic spikes, that venusaur doesn't learn.

On the other hand, having a bulkier pokemon that might eventually mega-evolve might balance my team a bit more. Moreover, it's got better stats overall, and it can learn Amnesia through breeding, and its mega ability, thick fat, would effectively drop the number of weaknesses down to 2.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.

    Thanks in advance!

I said this in a status, but even though I don't own a switch, I'm so happy that this exists. The first two mystery dungeon games are some of the biggest ones of my childhood and switch remasters of them have been something I've imagined for a while in "what would I do if I was the Pokemon company director" daydreams. From what I've seen they look absolutely gorgeous, with both the storybook aspect of the 3D, and the dialogue portraits filled with a ton of personality. The mechanical improvements look great and It could be really awesome to see slight tweaks to story things (stuff like Primal Groudon / Mega Rayquaza bosses), It'll be absolutely fine if it's identical to the original. I'm even excited for little things like seeing all the Friend Areas in the new graphics, because a lot of them had really cool designs.

    Now, maybe this is a bit hasty, but say it with me;
    EXPLORERS! EXPLORERS! EXPLORERS!

The only thing that would be even better than the originals would be a remastering of the sequels! Sky is the best PMD game by far, hands down. Hopefully they'll do the same next year, if there's a market for it still. Or maybe they'll go the route of creating an entirely new story, that's fine too. As long as it's high quality, like most PMD games are, I honestly couldn't care, I just want more of the series.

Hey, quick question? How do you turn off the randomizer? I tried talking to the Captain but it doesn't seem to work.

Update: Took a look at the code in RPGXP, specifically the Captain's code. Apparently, under the 'No' option for the randomizer, the control switch for it was left to ON. Flipping this seems to have solved the problem. I had to use the PBS files uploaded, which weren't for 18.6 just yet, so hopefully it won't pose too much of an issue, but currently I'm not encountering any problems.

Depends where you are in the game. If you're around the end-ish area of the game then there is a great place for grinding. If you're before that, you should just try to get the easier ones. Running around for the steps, buying and selling things to the shop, using items in battle(i think moves as well), egg hatching, and shiny hunting are all pretty good ways of grinding. It just depends on how motivated you are because it can get pretty tedious.

Which place would you be referring to?

  12. So, I was wondering what the best way to grind achievement points is in v11? I'm saving up for an Exp. All and a few Golden Items, but as of right now I've got a long way to go before I can manage it. What do you guys normally do to get achievement points relatively quickly?

how would you Like a protean greninja if you are really looking for a dark type but I don't think TM- Dark pulse is there. You can either ask someone to give you a greninja with that moveset or you culd play with a nasty plotter zoroark. but I would recommend you go with your dark dragon, did you ev train your mon? cause once its ev trained with a timid or modest version it is a beast!

I did EV train it in sp.attack and speed, but idk it was still kinda underwhelming. Thanks for the offer, though; I already took @N1Dude's advice and got myself a Gastly and a Noibat to train up. That said, I'll keep your recommendations in mind if I'm still having trouble.

  14. So, I just beat Hardy with a main squad consisting of an Infernape, Azumarill, Hydreigon, Decidueye, Magnezone and Mamoswine. However, I'm not all too pleased with the performance of some of my mons (specifically, Decidueye and Hydreigon; especially Hydreigon), and am looking to replace them. I'm pretty content with the rest of them, though. (Especially Azumarill, this thing is just incredible! Well worth the wait!)

As of right now, these are their current roles:

Infernape, Azumarill, Mamoswine, Decidueye, Hydreigon: All out attackers

    Magnezone: Field setter, status setter.

I've been thinking about diversifying into a different dark type special attacker of a sort, since my team is overly reliant on physical attacks atm. Any thoughts, or mons you might recommend?

    Thanks in advance!

  15. So, I decided to play through the game once more, and I was planning to use Gale Wings Talonflame as my fire/flying type, most notably due to its lack of a ground weakness and great speed. However, its attack is average and thanks to the nerf it received in gen 7, its ability is not as useful. Additionally, it only starts to get good moves around the time it evolves, and while that's only about 10 levels away from its encounter level, its coverage is still pretty shit. It doesn't even have breeding potential through good egg moves.

I've also recently found a charmander off of WT.  It's pretty good with regards to coverage, and it does have a mega evolution that I could exploit later on. That said, base 100 speed still isn't anything to write home about, and most of the good egg moves I could breed onto it, like Dragon Dance, aren't available until I get my hands on a decent dragon type, which I won't be getting for a while, either. It's got the same frailty to rocks that Talonflame, and doesn't even learn a good steel move naturally to combat it, unlike Talonflame's Steel Wing (which, admittedly, it still only gets at level 60).

So, in your opinion, what pokemon would you recommend; charizard or talonflame? Or, if you wouldn't recommend either, what other non-starter fire type would you recommend?

  16. Is there an area or event that lets me obtain a Lum Berry? I'm having a bit of trouble with Amaria due to the confusion caused by whirlpool, but I figure farming a few of them might be useful later on.

  17. So, I just became aware of the fact that Episode 17 came out and decided to download it. Only problem? After trying to open it, I discovered it won't open, and in fact it even freezes the folder it's located in.

So, the issue is a bit multi-faceted as I've already tried to solve the problem myself. Here's what I've done/discovered so far.

    1) Downloading it again, from a different mirror, doesn't work. I've done it 3 times so far, to no avail.

    2) If I try opening the game up from a different version (Version 16 was tested) the bug is not present.

    3) If I try restarting my computer, it still doesn't work properly.

    4) If I try to force-close the folder from Task Manager, the folder in question only appears if I open it up from the 'more details' section from the programme.

    5) The game itself doesn't crash- it opens after around 30 minutes, and it doesn't open at all if I force-close the folder.

    6) Once the game DOES load, it functions normally.

    7) Pressing F12 when the game has loaded doesn't cause the bug to occur.

    8) This bug occurs only when starting a new save file. After saving (pre-obtaining a pokemon) and reloading the game, the bug doesn't occur.

Now, obviously, this isn't a game-breaking issue, but I was wondering if there was any reason as to why this was occuring/how to prevent it from happening in the future if I decide to replay the game. Any ideas?

  18. -Claps-

Lovin it so far! I can't wait till i get to play it!

I especially like the blue kitten pokemon who i'm going to assume is a water type)

    Next round of questions:

    Will there be secret bases??

Will you need HMs, or will you have substitues for it like in insurgence or zeta/omicron?

You said the snivy left you because of the season change, is there some sort of setting that won't let pokemon like... lets say glaceon... come out in the summer?

Keep up the good work! it's lookin epic!
