I'd replace Donphan because just looking at it, it doesn't seem like it can carry weight in this battle. I second the Graveler recommendation and Dodrio. What is Ampharos doing when Scyther comes out? Paralyzing it could help. I had a Fearow for her and I found it lackluster and ended up swapping it out for Emolga/Dodrio.
I really want to tell you to just burn the field, because Hardcore doesn't like to pull punches but you said you don't want to do that. If you have a trubbish trained up you could toxic spike em. Do you have Psyduck/Golduck? It would be useful for this battle, as would Dewgong if you got the Seel egg instead of Cacnea.

I wouldn't call Hardcore's AI marvelous, but it managed to work with the old system pretty well due to spending hours manipulating the Pokemon in order to reduce AI errors (though don't ask me why it did a couple things). The AI is better, but I don't want people jumping into E16 thinking the AI is going to be glorious or near perfect and see how it's not that different. The main game's AI is just as bad so...yeah...it's a war.
On the flip side, I have most of the graphics done for CoM E16 version. Of course that is only like 6 maps in all. 3 were made by me from scratch though and one is to set up XCoM. Since Hardcore has it's own separate building, the CoM is going to be located there from now on. Even in the Reborn version you'll need to go to that building. Though for that version, you just enter the building. Anyways, I suppose I can show a teaser and you probably can get a lot out of it:
So does this mean that is replacing the books stack? Or is there a building at the CoM instead of just walking into it and being teleported to the first battle?

Capture tons of pokemans, make sure you are up to date on hidden abilities since they are more frequent, you can make any of the starters work so choose the one that suits you best! >:]
I'd take time to talk to all the NPCs and just explore. Study up on field effects so you can effectively
burn everything that Ame has carefully made to the groundturn the tide of battle into your favor. Light Shards are your friends. Don't be afraid to try new team members that you haven't used before, they probably will become invaluable! Above all, enjoy the journey! -

In regular E15 Reborn the AI messes up very often. For me like 3/4 of all gym/boss battles were heavily influenced by AI's mistakes - making them far too easy. Is Hardcore using a different / better AI?
I don't have much experience but there are more fingers on my hand than times I had the AI mess up on me during my run of EP15 Hardcore. Think of Air Balloon to force repeated EQ spam by Terra, or Pyroar's typing allowing Qwilfish to only spam bubblebeam 90% of the time instead of 100% of the time. I'm not quite sure if that helps answer it. Granted there can only be so much that the AI can do.

I'm still stuck on Terra. Even Air-Ballooning her isn't working. So I'm probably going to wait for new mons to be added in EP16 and try CoM again. Not to mention that Luna/Charlotte are huge pains that prevent me from even getting to Terra. I'm not going to give up trying the CoM, just not going to bash my head in repeatedly for now. Besides even if there are two new fire types added it could help. Camerupt could be replaced if the mega isn't given this episode. So, we'll see. IDK what would. Perhaps Delphox? We'll see. Back to the burning drawing board. Anyway, thought I'd give a little update.

While I do acknowledge the difficulty of El's battle and I share the feeling that if we lose I, personally, would like to be able to progress ,but sided with Radomus. That being said, you can use other strategies that aren't Curse/Perish Song etc.
Example - I confused Arceus with confuse ray, threw up fire spin, and just hit with as many flare blitzs or other heavy hitting moves until dead. It took a few tries because confusion is a bit wonky, but it can work. Smokescreen or Sand-Attack are great moves as well to lower accuracy. Plus you know El will heal, so take advantage of that by lowering stats, or boosting your own. It took me a few resets to get the strategy but it was very satisfying to burn Arceus and El with the power of fire.
There are both
"cheap"easier methods of defeating him and harder ways of defeating him. Hyper Offense just isn't the answer when it outlevels you severely and hits like a truck. It's Arceus. -
Honestly I know I went over the top on some fights due to how tense some of the arguments with both the field effects "ruining the game" and the difficulty being lackluster due to that, the nerfings, and the AI. This project was my way to shut those people up with cold hard evidence. The amount of support made me take it a bit more seriously afterwards though.
As for the cameo boss, that's a one time deal only so you're locked out of it. Don't worry, that won't be the last time you'll be seeing him. It might be even sooner than you think.
Oh, well I guess there that goes. inb4 next battle he has same field X_X
Here's another question.
I remember you having a status a while back showing someone praising the sun on top of the volcano. Is that NPC available to battle? And are there are NPCs to battle in overworld at post game?
I can't tell you how many times I've said outloud; 'Typhlosion! Eruption full power!' against her only to watch her Mega's HP slowly fall despite the boosts and I just smile as she EQ's away.

I really like the new setup and the explanation of the difference from regular Hardcore and the CoM.
With that being said...
Really. I really mean this. Hats off for CoM Terra. I'm STILL stuck on her. Hell, half the time Luna stops me in my tracks. Now I've deffo struggled with some battles in Hardcore and I know that you did do work to make these battles hard. I remember, but I'm still impressed with them. I mean wow. Luna, Charlotte, and Terra are the looming threats for me still. I haven't made it to Ciel yet so /shrug. Just me appreciating CoM. I might actually do a team reshuffle. We'll see. The day I beat CoM Terra is the day that I post in complete caps lock.
Anywho, yay for the new thread.
Oh, is there a way I can go back and battle the trainer before Mewtwo without the use of RPGmaker? Or am I locked out after battling Terra? I'd like to rematch him before I continue my CoM trek.

Did you grab the Cyndaquil from 7th Street? If so, I'd level it up, make sure it has Flash Fire, and just fight fire with fire. Especially since you have Camerupt. Lava Plume to activate Typho's flash fire and then GG let Eruption do the rest of the work. Even more if you have any other fire types in your PC. Rapidash can learn Drill Run at Agate, can learn Bounce for EZ paralyze. If you still have the Growlithe than Arcanine can be of use because FLASH FIRE. But yeah, switching in a Flash Fire when her Typhlo uses Eruption can make things easier. That's how I beat her, fire and fire. But if you don't have many fire types that's understandable as I'm unsure of what fire types can be caught at that point.
If not, I'd suggest grabbing a Druddigun or however you spell that dragon thingy that I despise battling that's in the cave you were in with Aya. Someone suggested Noivern which is useful due to how strong it is + moves it can learn. Walrein (Hakugei) is super good like stated.
Having Galvantula and Torterra might be more of a hindrance due to her mon's Speed + typing + field, I would probably bench them, but if you can get trick room off Torterra can really cause some havok on Charlotte.

I'm still afraid that PULSE Clawitzer is going to be reactivated or something. I have no desire to battle the monster which is that. Like going through the game terrified me when I heard it was assaulting the city.
On the bright side, here's to hoping that more fire types are available
. I really hope we can get a Magmatizer or whatever it's called because I'd love to try out Magmortar. Although off the top of my head there's already a big majority of fire types in the game aside from the starters, aside from Volcarona(out side of egg) and Talonflame? I know it won't be in E16 but man I cannot wait until we can get Entei because adorable + fire dog like Arcanine.That being said I am interested in how we'll encounter the various legendaries. So that is something to look forward to in the future.

Perhaps I read to fast or overlooked it but I'm unsure and curious as to why you are only using three currently, so why is that?
I was honestly a bit shocked to see how fast you made it to Bugsy. Do you think the battle would have gone differently if it was in the rain or nah?

I've been procrastinating on working with my group on a textbook chapter presentation that is supposed to take up two classes so 150 minutes worth of talking and I was assigned the chapter a month ago and just read it last night and it's due Thursday.
I have a novel to read due by next thursday but ehh I can hold off until like next Tuesday or something.

I remember doing 107 resets to get my shiny Cyndaquil from 7th street and boy was it worth it. Blue flame Typhlosion is sick nasty.

Many of the leaders I'm not going to hold any punches back on, unlike in Regular Hardcore. I did not design CoM fights to be easy so if you're team isn't rounded enough, one of the leaders is gonna tear you to shreds (similar to how the Reborn league worked...which this is as close to a substitute as I could make). After you get past the current final leader in each episode, that's where all the fun stuff happens. Like I'm surprised people are even able to beat it because I can defeat everyone but that one last fight.
Kudos then. Some leaders that we're easy originally were much, much more difficult. Like let's take Charlotte. Darmanitan was terrifying. But that wasn't all. Infernape was equally as scary because it basically countered Typhlosion. Chandelure was the third scariest thing because of Flash Fire. OH MY ARCEUS IS THIS WHAT ALL THE NPCS FELT FACING ME? That was horrible as it destroyed my non flash fire mons with ease.
Also is Ice Punch something that can flinch or does Aya's Muk/field have something to do to that? I've never experienced that before and just curious if that's something new.
Also Aya - I difficult.
I noticed you don't hold punches. Like there are some battles where I can make mistakes or I can be more free in my choosing of moves/mons. But there are some where it is only possible if I do certain moves in a certain order. Like it's crazy. I don't think Hardcore forced me into this except with Terra's gym battle and I conveniently forgot Terra existed until today. I have no clue honestly how I'm going to deal with Terra but I have a few strategies to work on.

I don't really mind starters being changed, as early game Fern wasn't something that was really dangerous - it was later when he became that way (at least in my opinion). I think that the Litten line would help improve Victoria. The water alolan starter I have no thoughts on, but I agree with you on Muk completely. (Aya having A-muk [and maybe Toxapex?] At least tears would be engulfed in her field)
As far as Fern's team goes, around Shelly and afterwards there's a distinct difference in the teams of the rivals. Victoria before Shelly, Cain at Beryl Cemetery, Fern at uhhh the Grand Hall? Would a Scyther at the Trainer School be a bit much?
