  1. If we're assuming that "legendary action" means that some of the legendaries will be involved in the main plot, I like the Regi idea. Regirock makes sense, because desert, and with all the trains/Titania's steel types rolling around, I can see Registeel having a part. That only leaves Regice, which thematically makes no sense for the desert, but with all the mountain and caves that Ame has eluded to being in the desert area, I wouldn't be surprised if we could climb to one of the snowy peaks and Regice's is up there or something.

Plus, unless it's changed from E16, I'm pretty sure Titania's epithet is "Guardian", so she's obviously guarding something. Her summoning whatever she's guarding during the plot would be hella dope.

  2. I personally hope that the last leader we battle isn't Sapphira. I've always felt that, since most dragons are pseudos, it's one of the strongest types by default, if not the strongest; at least at face value. Seems kind of cliche to me to battle Sapphira last because of that. Also, there's no guaranteed that we fight Amaria in this Episode, despite the episode title; she and Titania have to fix their relationship first. Besides, Amaria's trainer class in the PBS is "Fiancee", which I don't think she is at the moment. Unless that's just a placeholder and will be changed in later episodes. Amaria's also my favorite gym leader, so I'd personally love to fight her last.

Furthermore, we know that one episode will have two leader battles, and that 2 leaders will be battled on the Dragon Field. If, after the desert, we learn that the missing twins found a way into Labradorra and we liberate that city before Agate, it would be super easy for us to battle Sapphira and Hardy in the former's gym back to back on the dragon field. We could the liberate Agate and battle Amaria afterwards.

My ordering: Titania -> Sapphira -> Hardy -> Amaria.

  3. I can confirm that she mentioned during the stream that she wishes to remake the start of the story, possibly to show the player arrive via the desert into the station before it blows up.

Titania will also be battled on a moving train. I can dream.

EDIT: I also should say that it's worth noting that the sprite package that Ame released contains the default Gen7 sprites and their canon shines. However, Ame made a second set of custom shinies for Reborn only, and those are the ones that will be used in the game. Only mentioning it because the shiny mention on the first post isn't too to detailed. Also, her custom shinies are amazing and everyone should browse through the folder when it's released. Dhelmise is my favorite.

  4. My favorite branch is having Sapphira get kidnapped, since the events leading up to that are handled phenomenally and, seeing at your team up with Laura to rescue her, you get a bit more inside on her and a few other characters. Worth replaying just for those pieces of dialog alone.

  5. Honestly, I've always wondered if it's even possible for Fern to beat all the leaders he's claimed to beat with the pokemon we know he has. I've always wanted to hack in the 8-9 pokemons we've seen Fern use and try to complete the game with them. See if I get walled somewhere or if it's in fact truly feasible.

  6. As my main run, I've been doing a Dark/Ghost dual-type run and it's been tons of fun.

    8d103507400b48f38fdc4a48e12ba5c7.png

This is my main team; the ones I plan to use for E17 and onwards. Looking at this, I just realized I have way too many playthroughs because apparently I never trained up Whisper. Before Whisper I used either my Bishard or my Froslass. Reaper is by far my MPV - he's cheesed way too many fights with his bulk and Curse.

    bf49cc4fb2124f55b7bbf7e53e20b887.png

This box is just for completion's sake, as I collected more dark/ghost types throughout the run. The top row's my current rotation, everything below it was either used at some point during the run or caught as a potential reserve. The lower the pokemon is in the box, the lower its level.

I aggre with most of this however I'm not sure about the centuries part, years maybe a decade at best. Also I'm pretty sure Lin stayed for a while with Terra's parents as an adopted child. They might have "bonded" in a strange way. It is also Lin who introduced Terra and Lin is quite tolerant of Terra's antics. The timing of this adoption is however uncertain. The question is wheter it happened before she fell down the fairy ring or after. If it is after it might explain why Terra knows so much about Arceus, but before makes sense as well.

You are correct on the decade. For some reason, I thought Adrienn lived way back in the day and the city was much older. But I just replayed the scene where you all escape the underground ruins and xe claims it was just a decade ago.

Lin living at Terra's also makes sense. A child Lin would have escaped the ruins with no where to go, a decade prior to her "disappearance". Terra's parents could have adopted her, and the two girls would have grown up together. Explained why Terra's part of Meteor. More so than her explanation of "being bored".

  8. 10 hours ago, example said:

I`ll place my bet that ''From there, the suited girl disapears'' part hints us that Shade used to be somebody different, and mere shadow is what is left of her.

That's actually a very valid point. Do we know for a fact that Shade's male?  I know Anna calls him Mr. Shade, and Anna sees things that no other character does, but does that really mean that Shade's male?

If the alternate reality is true, and Anna made a wish that "created" the player character who leads instead of Fern, could this mysterious taciturn woman, who's described as disappearing after Anna's wish, have been used as the basis for creating the player character? Like, she vanishes so the player can exist and Shade is, as you say, what's left of her?

  9. So based on Laura's dialogue in Tanzan Depths, we know that there used to be a girl younger than the twins called Lin who lived at the orphanage with everyone else. According to Laura, she was a little shit who terrorized everyone, until she pulled a fast one on Sigmund and he had a punished. After that incident, Lin disappeared; the children assuming she either escaped or died. Based on Lin's dialogue to Sapphira before their brief clash, it's clear that she knows the three sisters on a personal level. Furthermore, the sisters and the doctor keep saying there's something familiar about adult Lin, but they can't place her.

Adrienn traveled forwards in time, from prior to a decade from the current time, to the time the story takes place. However, what's stopping the opposite from happening? What if child Lin managed to escape the orphanage but fell down into the Citae d'Arc and, while doing so, traveled through time to Adrienn's time a decade prior? This would make sense, considering xe mentioned seeing a little girl climbing her way out of the ruin shortly after he fell in. So the two end up falling into Arceus' chamber and end up swapping years. Child Lin climbs out in the past and matures into Adult Lin until she reaches the current years once more. This would explain why none of the characters familiar with child Lin recognize her yet she does, because why would they link adult Lin to the child Lin they know? Child Lin was younger than the twins, so there's no way she could have matured into an adult since her disappearance.

Furthermore, we know something's up with Lin, a lot of people theorizing that the voice we hear when leaving the Citae d'Arc is child Lin's. Even Anna says that "there was no one there", when talking about Lin's clash with Sapphira, despite everyone telling her that there was indeed someone riding that Hydreigon. This, coupled with the fact that old Reborn League quotes suggest Lin has another self and the fact that we hear a voice talking when the player character leaves the Citae d'Arc for the first time, suggest that something happened to her.

Regardless, she lives the following decade, maturing into the power-hungry Lin we know and love. She meets Solaris, an advocate of the church of Arceus and, using her knowledge of what she potentially saw below Reborn City, bastardizes his faith and makes him turn Meteor (a group he was already leading at that point) into the criminal organization it is today. We know that, at the very least, the last point happens because Taka mentions his father being a lot more compassionate before meeting Lin. Even Elias' journal describes Solaris as somewhat of a better person than his current character suggests.

EDIT: After just replaying the scene with Adrienn, it sees xe was only down there for a decade at the most; not centuries. I seem to have misremembered. Edited the post to have that fixed.

  10. It's not just Dratini too. If you look hard enough, you'll find that most of the pseudos require Rock Climb. Spoilers below on Pseudo locations.

Larvitar is found in an event at the bottom of the cave on Tanzan Lake. Required Rock Climb to get. Fun fact: You can watch Ame map part of this cave section on her youtube Channel.

Axew is found via egg in LCCC on Route 3. Requires Rock Climb to access that part of the cave.

You can obtain a Dark Material behind Luna in her gym; requires Rock Climb. You need to collect 3 Dark Materials in order to trigger the Deino event.

With Goomy and Beldum already being in the game, the only one I haven't found yet is Bagon. Probably because it's an event that hasn't been mapped yet, or because I haven't checked the list of encounters. My best guess: On top of the waterfall in Agate city

Edit: Oh! And Gible. Forgot about Gible. Not sure where the event for that one will be. Probably Desert?

I will admit though, I'm not a fan of threads like this. It almost feels like cheating; going into the game's code/essentials to find pokemon locations.

  11. I restarted a new E16 file and it was clear skies for the first few days. After that, it rained for 3-4 days before finally clearing up. So it can clear up. As to the continuous rain, I think the weather's designed to be different for each region, with each region favoring a type of weather (Ametrine favors hail, desert favors sandstorms, etc.). Maybe Reborn City itself favors rain, explaining the more common than usual rain? Although, keep in mind, I have no idea if this is the case.

Ummm, but Shelmet doesn't evolve into Escavalier, Karrablast does. Shelmet evolves into Accelgor which is a pure bug type. Therefore, it can't be used in a Steel mono run.

Whoops! You are correct. Seems like I got the two of them confused. I never used them myself, and the overview on Bulbapedia made confusing as to who evolves into who.

Disregard my earlier post; it seems like Shelmet is indeed placed in Steel mistakenly.

  13. 20 hours ago, Mint3kool said:

In the Kiki to Aya section, you have shelmet listed as a newly available steel type. However, shelmet and accelegor are both bug types, so I don't think they are supposed to belong there.

Otherwise, great job on the guide!

The idea is that the guide also lists pokemon that evolve into a certain type. So while Shelmet is pure bug, its evolution Escavalier is Bug/Steel, making it viable for a steel run, thus being listed as steel type. EDIT: I got Karrablast and Shelmet's evolutions confused. Mint3kool is actually correct.

I could see a situation similar to the original Red and Blue where Fern defeats the E4 before you and becomes the new champion. And since Ame loves giving us more reasons to hate him, I could see that happening.

I was about to say, isn't Fern still technically collecting badges? Or has he stopped that after joining Meteor? Because I can definitely see him pulling a Gary Oak and getting the Champion title before us. As much as I'd hate it...

Personally though, I like the idea of the region not having a champion. The champion is supposed to be the strongest trainer in Reborn. They're supposed to stand above everyone else, seen as the final challenge before you can call yourself "the best". I also feel as though, in a region like Reborn where the gym leaders are constantly moving and changing (take Shelly; right now, casual trainers can't challenge her because she's not at her gym at the moment), becoming the champion is a further testament to one's skill as a trainer because you've managed to acquire all the badges, find and defeat the Elite Four, in such a volatile region. Having someone like Lyn usurp the position, or having an Elite Four become a temporary champion, dirties the title. Take Benette - At this point he's pretty much guaranteed to have replaced Laura as a member of the Elite Four. But he's only done that because of El's manipulations. If he was chosen as the "temporary champion", would you accept that? Some bratty child given the title of champion, the best in Reborn, because he cheated the system? Hell, the MC's even beaten him twice already.

Leave Reborn without a champion, or at best have Lyn acknowledge that she's now it (although I feel like she doesn't care for the title).

Edit: I also think Lyn's the best choice because, thus far, no one's been able to stop her. She's taken down Sapphira, one of the highest ranking leaders in the region (although the latter was using a Steelix, not her real team), and flat out killed the previous champion. She's an unstoppable force, someone that makes you go "Oh shit!" when you see them, and the champion needs to be someone similar. The MC is the only one who fits the bill, having won every fight they've been in.

  15. Not really a bug but more of an oversight, maybe? I was reading a thread in which a player said he lost his Exp. Share because it was attached to the Whiscash that he gave to the fisherman to search for Tara's ID. While this is more player error than a bug (and is very unlikely to happen since most players would just hand him the Whiscash immediately after catching it), still seems illogical for the one in a million chance that a player loses an important held item because of a slight oversight.

Simple solution would be to have the fisherman refuse any Whiscash that has a held item? Wouldn't detriment the sidequest in any way.

Actually, you receive both from that quest. Do you need help with the quest?

I'm only missing 4 items, one of which I know where to get. I'm sure I can figure out the rest. If not, I'll search through this thread. I just wanted to double check the reward; Thank you though!

  17.

It's been a while since I've fact checked LEZ's history, but do we know what happened to Lumi and Eve's bodies following their merger into Zero's body? Because if they really have been sent back into their respective bodies (which I 100% think is the case), what's stopping us from talking to them? We know that Lumi was always actively trying to stop Team Meteor from within LEZ, and both she and Eve probably have very deep knowledge of Team Meteor's overall plans. Why wouldn't Lumi tell us everything? Zero even said he's going back to Agate; he might warn the team there of a potential betrayal now that he doesn't here the sister's voices anymore.

As for leader order, while it's looking more and more likely that Titania's next, I don't think Hardy's going to follow her. I don't see him leaving Calcenon without having rescued Aya first, so for him to challenge us in Agate, we need to resolve the situation in Labradorra first. Plus, wasn't there an NPC somewhere in Reborn that says that there exists a mysterious stone hidden underneath Agate? Maybe that'll be used as a way to unlock Arceus.

Personally, I think that after we fight Titania, we'll head back to Calcenon and the twins will have found a way to sneak pass the barrier. At first, I thought we'd used Rock climb to do that (similar to how dive was instrumental in bypassing the PULSE Avalugg), but I still think that Hardy's badge will let us use Rock Climb (makes sense that the Rock leader enables Rock Climb. Plus, RC will allow us to access a ton of new areas; probably where Dratini and other pseudo-legendaries can be found, at the peaks/bottom floors of the three mountains. So Rock Climb will probably be given to us by one of the two last leaders). From this, the twins finding a hidden route seems the most likely scenario. Once in, we liberate Labradorra, Team Meteor escapes to Agate to amass their forces, we battle Sapphira, and head to Agate.

So, I predict the ordering is Titania -> Sapphira -> Hardy -> Amaria. Also, if Rock Climb truly does enable us to catch Dratini/other pseudo-legendaries, it only makes sense that we obtain that after Sapphira as too not give us an advantage. Plus, dragons wouldn't actually help against Amaria either since dragons do close to nothing to water types, and she'll most likely have plenty of ice moves anyway.

Last question: Do we know where Heather/Shelly were heading too after the events in Ametrine? My mind's drawing a blank on that.

  18. Update 1: An Explosive Start!

So immediately after obtaining Voltaire, we're introduce to my BFF Pretty Boy Cain, who calls us cute and challenges us to battle

-Insert photo that I forgot to took-

Fighting Cain was pretty simple; Voltaire opened with Thunder Wave and spammed Charge Beam, ending the fight in three rounds.

After dealing with Cain, Victoria returns and decides she wants a rumble. Voltaire flexes its eel muscles and enters the second fight of its young life.

The battle with Victoria proceeded similarly to the one with Cain: open with Thunder Wave and spam Charge Beam. Thank god I paralyzed her Tepig though because Voltaire decided to provide my first heart attack of the run and miss the final Charge Beam. However, Tepig's paralysis kicked in, allowing me to end the fight with Spark.

    e40999ac2ae84daab46c685536c12a91.png

Yeah, Voltaire has that effect on the ladies. Even I didn't know what to say when his number was generated by my RNG.

Finally being able to leave the Grand Hall, I decide to forgo the Opal Bridge for now and instead run through Peridot Ward, playing cat and mouse with its citizens in order to obtain the second member of our motley crew - Epilep (short for epilepsy)!

    4317c3c916fe4020aafed9e6992b0bc5.png

Thank god, something more versatile than Tynamo.

I then make my great return to Opal Bridge to show the citizens of Reborn how battling is truly done. Along the way, I encounter a couple a bullies who are making fun of a poor Zigzagoon, so I teach them who's boss and decide to take the poor little guy with me.

    One Training Montage Later

However, the little guy proved useless because he repeated kept headbutting his head against any and all trees. I should take this as a sign to avoid the drinking the water in Reborn. Clearly there's something in it...

However, that poor Zigzagoon's mental state allowed us to acquire Kamakaze! The third member of our crew!

    69a5d3adcb334b369d47d2d259b05a90.png

(It's also worth nothing that while I was training Zigzagoon for it to learn headbutt, my very first encounter of the training montage, and consequently the run, was a shiny Rattata. I don't know what kind of omen it provides, but I'm officially concerned.)

It's also at this time that I'd like to give a huge thanks to Lord Drakyle, here on the forums, who saw my run and offered to trade me his shiny Trubbish for my team. In exchange, I offered him my mentally unstable Zigzagoon. May he live a better life.

So here's our last new member before Julia!

    300d6ee45dd943f182a75aaf99bf4935.png

Aptly named Mrs. Biggles. Because Garbodor is cute and nothing Ame says will change that.

Team in hand, I took to the streets of Peridot, battling trainer after trainer, leveling my team and taking the streets by storm. Kamakaze even lived up to his name, following Julia's example by self-destructing during the Goldeen fight. She'd be proud.

It was then that I met Top Dog Swag Bag Fern. To quote Julia: "Hi Fern."

    4763c321ffd74963bbc2e8fdea39c87c.png

The Fern fight was actually exceeding easy; apparently my team's a natural counter for his.

Voltaire made quick work of Lotad with Charge Beam, Kamakaze decimated Snivy with crit Bug Bite, and Epilep annihilated Bidew.

Guess I'm top dog now, huh Fern?

Peridot vanquished, I then return to Julia's gym, only for me to be called out to the local factory for some help. Apparently, it's been taken over by one Team Meteor, and I'm forced to team up with Fern Swag Bag in order to help.

Clearing the factory proved to be simpler than expected, despite all the rock and steel types. I also shed a tear at meeting Simon and Tara the first time. Oh if they only knew.

Also, apparently Julia ran out of boomies.

    f367694e41f24bcb898fb9de1997ed47.png

Don't worry though! Kamakaze's got this!

    2605769cbff44ecfb742d25d95462b57.png

....I said Kamakaze's got this! We don't need to borrow additional explosives!

    a6092682d2e24c0497fc80400b88c0f7.png

Is no one even listening to me? I have one to spare!

    0b77fc354b294720b8b0b9a027da85af.png

God Dammit Fern! You even battled against Kamakaze! You know I'm not lying! These people, I swear...

    One pointless explosion later

Following out failed attempt at explosions, I encountered Aster and Eclipse, ??? who's real name is totally not Sirius

A&E was actually pretty fun. Since Mrs. Biggles was higher level than everyone, I sent her out first and spammed Poison Gas until both Magby and Elekid were poison. Mrs. Biggles fainted shortly after. I then sent Voltaire to clean up the rest with Charge Beam while A&E focused on Swag Bag's pokemons. Apparently even Team Meteor doesn't like him.

But then ??? tells everyone to escape and OH MY GOD THERE GONE! Whatever shall we do?

    Challenge Julia obviously!

    55fbe5ba42ee464aa05d7d01d7be466e.png

So Julia took two tries because of poor execution on my part. The two fights started the same however.

I opened with Epilep and used Light Screen, rendering any attacks her Helioptile does useless. I then switched to Mrs. Biggles who set up double Toxic Spikes and defeated Helioptile with two Acid Sprays, all while getting paralyzed, having her accuracy dropped twice, and tanking electric attacks. Helioptile was even defeated the turn that Light Screen faded. Mrs. Biggles for MVP.

I switched to Kamakaze for the two Voltorbs and used the same strategy for both: Turn 1: protect, turn 2: Bug Bite (get hit by Sonic Boom), turn 3: use Bug Bite while Voltorb heals, Voltorb dies from poison. The second Voltorb used Rollout instead of SB, leaving Kamakaze with 22.

The Emolga's where I went wrong on fight 1. Initially, I switched to Epilep to set up Light Screen, forgetting that Emolga really only has physical moves. So Epilep went down after accomplishing nothing and the fight turned sour quickly after that. During round 2, I instead sent out Voltaire, who resists all of Emolga's attacks and can't be paralyzed. As a bonus, he does neutral damage on Emolga due to its dual typing, so I defeated it in three rounds using Charge Beam, increasing my SA every turn.

Voltaire tanked Blitzle's Quick Attack, landing a super charged Charge Beam before fainting next turn. Sent out Kamakaze who used protect, letting the poison kill Blitzle.

Julia send out Electrode who used Sonic Boom, leaving Kamakaze with 2 HP, allowing me to LET HIM EXPLODE! BOOOOOOOOM

    ca24776521a04be4ba13f7b9bd168eec.png

It was then that I learned my first of two oversights this fight: the field super charges the explosion and renders it not very effective against Electrode. It still took out almost half of its health. Also, Julia should totally gain 5 relationship points in my favor for using an explosive move during her battle. Why is this not a thing?

From there, the fight got risky. My second oversight was not realizing that for Aftermath to trigger, Mrs. Biggles needs to faint from a physical move, so when I sent her out, Electrode used Charge Beam and the ability didn't trigger. Luckily, Epilep confused Electrode with confusion, and it ended up attacking itself the same turn I healed Epilep (redundantly, it seems). Poison took it out shortly after.

    Volt badge, acquired!

And that's part one! Please let me know if this was too long, too short, too many pictures, anything. I've never really done one of these before, so I'd love some feedback.

    The Team So Far:

  19. Hello and welcome!

So my exams are both soon starting and coming to a close, meaning I will have tons of free time over the holidays. I've been waiting on Episode 16 to start new runs of the game, considering my current Dark/Ghost run has just reached the end of the new content, and today I find myself with a bit of a free time. So! I figured I'd set the stage for the my next run.

    Introducing my PokeRandom run!

I was browsing the forums and came across this thread here, where the premise of the run was to have other users pick one pokemon of each type, and the runner randomly selected one choice, using those 18 pokemon for their run. I took the idea and modified it a bit as follows:

    - Pick 5 pokemon of each type, ensuring any mons with dual typing only appears once in the total selection. Distribute the mons as follows:

      - Pick one mon you really like

      - Pick one mon that's considered "top tier"

      - Pick one mon that you've never used, but have been curious about

      - Pick one mon that's rarely used

      - Pick something that's absolute garbage

From there, randomly generate a number between 1 through 5 for each type, and build your team with the resulting pokemons. I'm choosing to call this a PokeRandom Run.

So that's what I did and here's the result!

    Normal: Braviary
    Water: Kingdra
    Fire: Houndoom
    Grass: Jumpluff
    Electric: Eelektross
    Psychic: Meowstic
    Bug: Forretress
    Ghost: Mismagius
    Dark: Mandibuzz
    Fairy: Granbull
    Fighting: Conkeldurr
    Ice: Walrein
    Dragon: Dragalge
    Steel: Bastiodon
    Ground: Quagsire
    Rock: Archeops
    Poison: Garbodor
    Flying: Tropius

As you can see, we've got the good, the bad, and the ugly; ranging from Archeops to Mismagius to Eelektross to Bastiodon. But I'm excited for this run! Should be interesting!

Some final ground rules before we get started:

    - I can only use the pokemons listed above

    - I can catch another other mons needed for these specific purposes (Headbutt, HM slaves, breeding for particular moves), but nothing else.

Wish me luck and hope you enjoy!

    Update 0:

So our journey begins narrowly escaping death as the train our illustrious MC, Estonia, is riding on explodes as it pulls into the station.
We talk to Ame and are introduced to Julia, a BOOM-tastic young woman who's also apparently one of the local gym leaders. She asks us if we're gonna partake in the Reborn League, which we happily respond "Yes".
Cue first positive relation point. Score!
We're then told to head to the Grand Hall to meet a fellow comrade and properly register for the league. But, before we do, we're approached by a concerned young woman who gives us a Potion, apparently thinking it can heal us following the exploding. It's the thought that counts, I suppose.

At the Grand Hall, we meet Ms. Willpower Victoria, who leads us back to Ame for our first pokemon.
Luckily for us, we're playing Reborn Yellow version, and Ame has a a special extra mon for us, that totally wasn't hacked in for this run's purposes/lack of thunder storms, beyond the usual choice.

    Meet Voltaire!

I'm so excited to train this thing!

That's where I'll end this post for now. Here we go! Send help.

Waaaait. Where do you get Drilbur? Ik about staryu, my mistake. I thought I put all the 16 mons in my changelog but apparently I missed half >>>

    TY Though.

I read in another thread that you can catch them in the cave on the island on Tanzan Lake. I haven't verified myself, but the Obtainable Pokemon Chart/Graph thing shows that Drilbur is indeed catchable. Other members were discussing it in a "help me beat Adrienn" thread.
