  1. I liked the seasons in Unova, but would like them to only affect how the game looks and not what wild pokemon are or aren't available.

    I was never too big into Pokemon Contests, but they were fun to do once in a while. so I don't mind if they come back.

    Fog in D/P/Pt was awful. Fog should either have no affect on battle at all or be totally overhauled into a type of weather like rain or sun that can be used in battle.

    Trainer customization is great and I think should be included in remakes, perhaps after beating the champion. Sure R/S/E didn't have trainer customization, but OR/AS included pretty much every other major Gen 6 feature not present in the originals so I don't see why customization had to be excluded. Hopefully customization comes back in the future.

    I never used Secret Bases much, but I thought they were pretty cool. I'd like to see some feature similar to it in future games.

    I loved and used The Underground a lot. It is my favorite way of farming for items, especially evolutionary stones and fossils.

    Gym Leader rematches was one of my favorite features in Gen 3 and 4. I also like the Pokemon World Tournament in B/W2. Hopefully Gen has some way fo rematching the gym leaders.

    The Battle Frontier is one of my favorite postgame features ever, so I'd love to see it come back.

    Some features not mentioned I'd like to see are:

    I liked the different theme remixes for day and night in D/P/Pt for the routes and other places. It added to the ambiance Sinnoh had and I'd like to see it return.

    Another thing I'd like to see come back was the shaking grass/rippling water/dust clouds from Gen 5, hopefully with a lot less Audino. I liked being able to catch rare mons like Kingdra and Milotic without needed to trade.

  2. That looks amazing. There is that split second change there but I'm pretty sure that'll be fixed over time.

    So...uh... that megahorn is just for show right?

    Randomized Reborn confirmed. :Kappa:

    Nice work as usual Ame. The new Mega Evolution animation is wonderful!

  3. Grass types have their issues both offensively and defensively, but I still like to use them. I've used grass type starters, especially Torterra and Serperior and liked them a lot. I also like offensive grass types like Roserade and Breloom as well as more defensive ones like Ferrothorn that can take advantage of Leech Seed and powder moves that grass types get.

    I also like to use electric types because they are both solid on offense and defense. Some I've used and liked are Magneton/Magnezone, Ampharos, Luxray and Rotom. Thunder Wave is a also very useful status move most electric types get.

  4. "Darkness is love~"

    Good job!

    I probably should get back to doing my Dark Monotype run...

    Thank you! And you can do it! The most difficult part of the run was Kiki. She is very hard without any of dark type checks or counters to fighting like Honchkrow, Malamar, Spiritomb or Sableye. Samson later is much easier because you have access to all of those pokemon to handle fighting types.

    Lol some of these nicknames THE BOSS and Squidward had me laughing.

    Congrats, although I say that drapion is actually pretty awesome up until Samson where after it kind of gets less useful since its lack of physical power really shows around that part but is still great for setting up toxic spikes which has saved me quite a few times. Protean Greninja is a hero through and through.

    How did you get dragon dance on Scrafty?

    I used Drapion as a bulky attacker with Hone Claws that was pretty good. Toxic Spikes could have been more useful though.

    Dragon Dance is one of the egg moves the event Scraggy can know. It's kind of rare, but worth the numerous soft resets I did to get one with decent IVs. Scrafty can also learn Dragon Dance by breeding with Horsea/Seadra/Kingdra, Altaria, or Axew/Fraxure/Haxorus in Episode 15.

  5. Soon after Episode 15 was released, I wanted to try a dark types for my first monorun. I used standard monotype rules with the added challenge of not using items during battles and having to beat all the boss battles, like a certain Garchomp and Ditto. I chose dark for my first monotype because I wanted a monorun that wasn't too easy, but still had a fairly good variety of mons, especially early on in the game. I also like a dark types in general and I'm a fan of abilities dark types have like Prankster and Moxie. I tried to catch and train every dark type available in Reborn as of episode 15. So here they are in the order they were obtained!

    One Skuntank was a Stunky I caught early in the game, and the other was Corey's. The RNG was not in my favor, so I wasn't to get Vullaby from mystery egg event and didn't want to restart the game. Other than that, I have every dark type available! (I think... I may be missing one.)

    Now I'll show the A Team! I didn't really use a set team of six pokemon throughout the my run, except for Greninja, because Protean is just that good. However these six proved to be some of the most useful.

    Team A

    zTD2C2J.png

    Protean Greninja, Moxie Dragon Dance Scrafty and Adaptability Crawdaunt are all very good and live up to the hype. I was surprised at how good Malamar was, partly because the AI doesn't always plan well around Contrary, giving Malamar free stat boosts from moves like Bulldoze, Icy Wind or from Intimidate. Houndoom surprised me a bit too, especially after a Nasty Plot boost, which are hard to do due to being so frail, but immunity from psychic and fire along with silly AI can help. Finally, STAB Earthquake with Moxie makes Krookodile a beast.

    Team B
    These mons were good, but were not on the A team mainly because they, haven't been around for long or need some moveset tweaks from breeding, move tutors or TMs that aren't available yet.

    Drapion is actually pretty solid, but could use Poison Jab instead of Cross Poison for an extra bit of power. Bisharp is good too, but needs Zen Headbutt and Sucker Punch from breeding and I am lazy. Weavile with Icicle Clash could be on the A Team, but I've only has her for a little bit. Defensive and stall pokemon sometimes aren't the most useful in Reborn, but Curse Umbreon is just so bulky and needs Payback and maybe Toxic to work well. Shiftry was surprisingly good, but doesn't have the best defensive typing. Honchkrow is powerful but frail and needs Superpower.

    My other pokemon were useful too! Prankster Liepard with Sand Attack helped a ton early in the game. Toxic stall Skuntank and Cacturne with Spiky Shield, Leech Seed were also good. That's how I beat Solaris' Garchomp!

    Looking forward to Mandibuzz pretty soon and Hydreigon and Tyranitar eventually. I can only hope someday for Mega Gyarados, Darkrai, Yveltal, Dread Plate Arceus and Hoopa Unbound. :Kappa:

  6. TI (finally) L that almost all of the areas in reborn are based off of some kind of gemstone/rock. Opal, Peridot, Obsidia, Onyx, Coral, Jasper, Beryl, Azurine, Iolite, Citrine, Ametrine, Celestine, Aventurine, Tourmaline... The list goes on. (I don't know where Byxbysion comes from, though!)

    Byxbysion could named after Maynard Bixby, an American mineralogist who discovered bixbyite. I don't know about the "y" in Byxbysion, but that's the my guess.

  7. Wormadam could use some buffs.

    Wormadam - Plant Cloak

    Stats:
    - HP: 60
    - Attack: 59
    - Defense: 85
    - Special Attack: 79 -> 109
    - Special Defense: 105
    - Speed: 36 -> 66
    - Total BST: 424 -> 484

    Abilities: Anticipation -> Chlorophyll

    Type: unchanged

    Psybeam lv 32 -> Giga Drain lv 32
    Captivate lv 35 -> Sunny Day lv 35
    Attract lv 41 -> Bug Buzz lv 41

    This turns Plant Cloak Wormadam into a fast special attacker with sun.

    Wormadam - Sandy Cloak

    Stats:
    - HP: 60
    - Attack: 79 -> 109
    - Defense: 105
    - Special Attack: 59
    - Special Defense: 85
    - Speed: 36 -> 66
    - Total BST: 424 -> 484

    Abilities: Anticipation -> Sand Rush

    Type: unchanged

    Psybeam lv 32 -> Pin Missile lv 32
    Captivate lv 35 -> Sandstorm lv 35
    Attract lv 41 -> Earthquake lv 41

    This makes Sandy Cloak Wormadam into a fast physical attacker with sand.

    Wormadam - Trash Cloak

    Stats:
    - HP: 60
    - Attack: 69 -> 79
    - Defense: 95 -> 120
    - Special Attack: 69
    - Special Defense: 95 -> 120
    - Speed: 36
    - Total BST: 424 -> 484

    Abilities: Anticipation -> Battle Armor

    Type: unchanged

    Psybeam lv 32 -> Payback lv 32
    Captivate lv 35 -> Curse lv 35
    Attract lv 41 -> Gyro Ball lv 41

    Boosted defenses and a solid defensive typing and critical hits being prevented by Battle Armor lets Trash Cloak Wormadam set up Curse.

  8. Volbeat
    65/73/55/47/75/85 --> 65/90/65/90/75/95
    400 --> 475
    Bug --> Bug/Electric

    Decent Sp. Atk and Speed allows Volbeat to (ab)use Tail Glow and become a potent special attacker. It can also run mixed sets with it solid attack and physical coverage moves like Play Rough and Zen Headbutt it learns by level up. Volbeat can learn Thunder, Thunderbolt, Charge Beam and Thunder Wave from TM. With Prankster, Volbeat can also use moves Tail Glow, Baton Pass, and Moonlight effectively.

    Illumise
    65/47/55/73/75/85 --> 65/47/90/93/95/85
    400 --> 475
    Bug --> Bug/Fairy

    Bug/Fairy isn't the best defensive typing, but an immunity to dragon and a 4x resistance to fighting can be useful. Illumise learns plenty of moves to fully utilize. While Volbeat has Tail Glow, Prankster Illumise has better bulk and typing to use moves like Moonlight, Roost, Wish, Encore, Baton Pass, Thunder Wave, and can set up sun or rain as well as Light Screen. Illumise can learn Moonblast or Dazzling Gleam instead of Play Rough by level up.

    Outside the Top 25 Dark Horses: Oklahoma State, Louisville, Kentucky, Penn State, West Virginia, Washington

    This year, I have hope that the Big 12 poses enough of a top-heavy conference to where they get a team in this year. TCU survives a tough game against Oklahoma and blows the doors off of Baylor in Fort Worth on Black Friday to secure the number one spot (or if they take a loss a play-off birth.)

    This year, Alabama draws a HARD cross-divisional straw in Georgia and Tennessee, and loses Amari Cooper.

    This year, Ohio State plays an easy schedule, save for playing Virginia Tech on the road. The Hokies beat the Buckeyes at home last season.

    This year, Michigan plays like some guy named Jim Harbaugh is coaching 'em, playing the Buckeyes tight in the Big House.

    LSU's RB Leonard Fournette wins the Heisman as the NCAA is seemingly down on talented Quarterbacks this season.

    I like these rankings! However, I'm not sold on Georgia being able to make it out of the SEC unscathed, despite their talent. The Bulldogs are never quite able to make the whole season without injuries, suspensions or losing games they shouldn't. Playing Alabama doesn't help either.

    I'd like to see a Big 12 team in the playoff too. Let's hope the selection committee feels the same way, unlike last year!

    I would say it's safe to assume Oregon isn't a contender for the playoff with all the players they have lost, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Ducks could do it based on the based on talent and coaching alone. The game at MSU will be a test to see if they are a Playoff contender, or just a solid Pac-12 team. Even if the Ducks are rebuilding, I don't see them losing more than one game in conference play. The Pac-12 North is improving, but even a rebuilding Oregon is still better the rest of the North. (I went to Oregon State, so it pains me to say Oregon will win the North like usual, but I can't deny the obvious.)

    As for the Pac-12 South, it will be interesting to see who wins it to face (more than likely) Oregon in the championship game. If the whole division lives up to the hype, it could be one of the most competitive divisions in all of college football, and I could see the Pac-12 South winner having two losses in conference. I think Arizona and USC have the best shot to win the South. However, ASU gets to play Oregon, Arizona and USC all at home, so they could make some noise as well.
