Well it depends on the generation, but I always use Pokemon I just like. So my team might reflect my Pokemon Red Team:
-Charizard
-Vaporeon
-Magneton
-Alakazam
-Tauros
-Dragonite (My Ace)

I actually think they should just cut Ash's story and focus more on whatever they are doing with this.

I think this is the closest we've been to a Pokemon release with so little information. I kinda like it, but I would like to see what the starters turn into. I still have no idea which one I'm going to choose.

One feature Reborn has done which I completely forgot to mention is the ability to change your Pokemon's Nature. Imagine how useful that would be? You finally catch a Shiny Pokemon, but its nature is garbage.

I remember playing the games as a kid with Red and Blue, and once you figured out the weakness system (this was before the internet) it was not really challenging. Heck, most gyms were surrounded by Pokemon that they were weak against. And by more challenging I don't mean Reborn-Level difficulty, but something more of Whitney being the standard for gyms.

So a lot of us have played many a fan game. I personally have played Zeta, Reborn, Rejuvenation, Insurgence, and Uranium, and have enjoyed each game. The creators of these fantastic games each had something that the originals, while loved, seem to lack that make them a bit better in my opinion. And instead of banning them like they did to Uranium, Nintendo should really draw inspiration from some of these games. What parts in these games do you think would be awesome to appear in a Game Freak Official Pokemon Game.
For me it has to be the following:
-Reborn: More in-depth storyline and harder gym battles
-Zeta: HM items
-Rejuvenation: Reverse Candies/Disobeying Pokemon Level Caps
-Insurgence: Delta Pokemon (I guess they did with Aloan Pokemon)
-Uranium: Standard Pokemon evolving into a legendary

Really liked the version exclusives. Although I have been torn ever since the announcement on which version I will get, I am starting to lean more toward Moon.

Okay so this one was a nail biter because there were three occasions where my elite team (Luxray, Gyrados, and Gabite) were brought down to 5 health points or less due to a critical hit.
-Traded a Linoone for a Combee
-Traded a Gloom for a Venipede
-Riolu evolved into a Lucario after a romp back to slate port for the soothe bell
-Took on the 6th gym. Rock Tomb helped clip her wings to earn a badge
-Traded a Gecleon for a Honedge
-Traded a Pelliper for a Charmander (I use the doubles rules re-trade)
-Traded a Charmander for a Chikorita
-Traded a Gloom for a Weedle
Now I am parked outside Mt. Pyre. I now have 6 badges, a full and diverse team, and no casualties although some came close.

Also I will explain the rules of my Nuzlocke. I do not purchase any healing items, only using those that I find on my adventure. I only go to a Pokemon Center once when I am passing through a town, so backtracking counts. I can only catch the first Pokemon I see and then wonder trade it, even event Pokemon. I do not do any Super Training either. The only items I can purchase are Pokeballs (Maybe TMs, haven't decided yet). Will probably allow Mega Evolutions, but since none of my current team is easy to obtain who knows.

-Sneasle dies to a Arena Trap Trapinch (Dirty bastard!)

A bloodbath ensues at the Mallville Gym
-Amaura dies from a Magnet Bomb
-Machop dies from a critical hit
-Snowrunt dies from its own stupidity and confusion
After a long and bloody battle, we emerge with the next badge
-Traded a caught Machop for a Oddish

So at the end of the day we have three badges and five corpses in the grave box. Not a great way to start.

My advice is to forget everything you knew about Pokemon. There is no "Type Advantage" in these gym fights. You have to think outside the box with fights and what Pokemon to raise.

I am a bit disappointed that cubone, execute, and pikachu dont get alolan forms. Wait, if a normal pikachu can evolve into the alolan raichu, then maybe, just maybe, the'll finally make Ash's Pikachu evolve. Doubtful but maybe.

While I and everyone waits for the next two months to pass for Sun and Moon, I decided to store all my Pokemon in the bank, and start over my Omega Ruby to do a Wonderlocke Challenge. Figure I could share some of the details.
Day 1
-Traded a Mudkip for a Magikarp
-Traded a Seedot for a Wurmple
-Traded Poocheyana for a Scatterbug
-Wurmple dies while fighting a Tailow
-Scatterbug evolves into Spewpa
-Traded a Wurmple for an Amaura
-Traded a Poocheyana for a Vibrava
-Traded a Whismur for a Kagnashkan
-Beat Roxanne thanks to Amaura and Vibrava
-Spewpa evolves into Vivillion
-I continue to knock out every Pokemon from Rustboro to Dewford Town thanks to critical hits and misjudging my own teams power.
-Traded a Zubat for a Machop
-Beat Brawly thanks to Machop and Kangashkan, although I almost lost both
So the day ends with 2 badges, six Pokemon and one dead bug. I think that is a good day.

I am pretty sure the writers get off on making Ash lose. I know they want him to be perpetually young to appeal to new trainers, but can we PLEASE get some development, some show of maturity. You think after EIGHTEEN seasons he would be a bit of a veteran trainer, even the slightest bit. Or, could we stop following Ash and get someone like Red?

I'm hoping Team Skull is just using the legendary pokemon to maybe take over the island or something like a gang would do. Power baby, just doing it for power!

Probably my favorite time of year. And so far my October has been good. Got to go to a pumpkin patch with my wife, enjoy cider and caramel apples while looking at the different jack-o-lanterns they made.
