    Trivia Time: Sunkern has the lowest Base Stat Total of all Pokemon, sitting at a lowly 180. Sunkern also has the lowest base HP of all Grass Pokemon, is tied with Lotad for lowest base Defense of all Grass Types and is tied with Seedot and Bellsprout for lowest Special Defense of Grass Types. In "The Official Pokemon Handbook 3", it states that Sunkern stands at 0'01" tall, when it really means 1'00.

      Lastly, Sunkern's official artwork more closely resembles its Shiny form from Gold and Silver than its regular form. This was somewhat rectified in Crystal, although the artwork still resembled the Shiny version more; this was finally fixed in Generation III.
