  1. Thanks for your answers ! They've been pretty useful. Air Ballons are pretty handy indeed, I'll buy some.

I'm thinking of adding these two mons to the roster :

    Timid - 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Speed, 6 HP

    - Surf

    - Petal Dance (?)

I'm not a huge fan of Meganium since Venusaur has fewer weaknesses overall, and does as well in the sun. I've also thought of Ludicolo to counter Amaria if she has a rain team.

    What do you think ?

  2. Hi everyone ! With episode 16 around the corner, I've recently started to prepare my team to be able to face whatever Ame throws at us this time. I'd definetely need a bit of help with some moves and held items, and I'm not entirely sure I have the right Pokemons to counter the upcoming gym leaders.

Here is my squad (8 'mons, 2 in rotation) :

As you can see, there are several questions marks left and I'm not sure I will be able to cover everything with these guys. What do you think ? :)

  3. Hi ! It's me again. I think there's something wrong with flinch moves and the Rocky field.

When fighting the giant Steelix, I told my Hariyama to use Fake Out. The message "The opponent was knocked into a rock" was displayed and Steelix suffered damage, but didn't flinch (even if Fake Out is a 100% flinch).

Reading the field effects, I saw this :

    • Flinched Pokemon suffer 1/16 Max HP damage (does not affect Sturdy or Steadfast Pokemon

According to this, what happened is the exact contrary of how th field should behave. If the giant Steelix had Sturdy (which I don't know, but is possible), he shouldn't have taken the bonus damage, but should have flinched. I'm pretty sure something is wrong with either the field description, or its behaviour.

That's all, thanks for your amazing work on this game !

  4. A bug I noticed when fighting Taka & Zel in doubles at the third PULSE Tangrowth.

    Description of the situation :

My Hariyama & Grotle against Espeon & Lileep. My Hariyama kills Mentali with Knock Off, and instead of actually doing Curse as I ordered him to, my Grotle fails with a "But there was no target..." message (which is kinda funny as Curse is self-targeting). I assume it's because Espeon just fainted but welp, it was weird.

Hope I was clear enough !

  5. (french fellow here, apologies for my approximate english)

Well, I just finished Ep. 3 (last night at 4am huehuehue) so here's my feedback (heavy spoilers ahead) :

Storywise : I wasn't hooked by the plot at first. The whole first part of the game (up to Vejyr, i'd say) sounds a bit cliché and overall the characters feel a bit too dull : you got the typical rival-like jerk, the typical "I'm gonna be the very best" girl, the "YAY DRUGS" Electric leader, etc. Shiv & Nova sure sound intriguing, but I've never been a fan of humans with superpowers in the Pokemon world (same thing for Rejuvenation here, why bother with magic when you got 719 amazing 'mons to do the same thing ? But that's a personal opinion so let's keep on going).

But as the game progresses, you work on theses flaws, the plot evolves and so do the characters : Connor stops being a jerk, Scarlett betrays, etc. I must say that I wasn't very emotionally implicated by her treason, given the fact that 1 hour of gameplay earlier she was just the "I want to be a trainer to finally become useful" girl, but her death (?) was a good scene.

There are a few ideas that were pretty good though; the hypnotized villagers, the Blackview battle, the Weeping Hills. The twist about Tristan was definetely the thing that got me hooked up in the story, too bad it happened at the end of the episode :P Same for the psychotherapist-like sessions we see in those flashbacks, they got me really interested.

It's also very clear that you progressed a lot in storytelling through the episodes; the Keneph villagers arc seemed a bit rushed, whereas the Blackview arc was pretty intense and interesting. Maybe you'd want to rework the first episode when (if) you'll have the time.

Unique gameplay : Pretty awesome. The reputation system (even if it doesn't seem to cause great changes yet, at least I didn't spot them) is very promising, and there are plenty of interesting sidequests. I still have to finish the Rangers guild line and the Fighting Club, but it's already on par, even better, than what Reborn or Rejuv offer in terms of secondary content.

The fields effects don't seem to differ a lot from what Rejuv or Reborn offer, but there are nice additions (fuck that fighting nerf against Tristan aha). Maybe add a description of them somewhere (if not already done) ?

Map design : Your map design is very original. There is always a LOT to do on your maps (Weeping Depths, Silver Rise are very dense in term of content, I love it). It may seem a bit too much at first, and upon entering a new map I knew I was about to get lost, but in the end persistance is rewarded (even if I still don't know where to use that fucking shiny key).

I hated Vejyr tho. The fact that you spend the entire map doing the same thing (rock smashing pillars over and over again while fighting Crescent), that you constantly have to go back to Ava to heal, all of this while encountering wild Pokemon every 5 steps... it was not very enjoyable. Overall, I think you should nerf the encounter rate a bit in your game. I spent all my money on repels because I was getting sick of getting interrupted all the time (moreover, super repel not being sold until Silver Rise makes it even harder).

The spriting could need a little more work sometimes (the beach, Keneph, Hardened Mound exterior, or the alternate-plane-Grind-teleport-thingy could help a little more details). But overall it's pretty good, your town design is consistent and original.

Conclusion : A bit perplex with the story and characters at first, but you clearly progressed and I'm confident that you'll deliver a great story in the next episodes, as good as (if not better) than Rejuv or Reborn. Keep up the good work !

  6. Hey dude. I don't know you, and I don't pretend that I have a miraculous solution for you (we don't even speak the same language !), but here's some advice that might help you (at least I hope so).

I had a death in my family a few months ago, and at first i felt a bit like you : lost, devastated, trying not to think too much by keeping myself busy.

First thing is, I can assure you that time WILL help. A lot. You may feel broken as of now, but you will realize how time heals everything - or at least, makes every wound less painful.

When I was in your situation, i was afraid that I wouldn't be able to get over it, that I will stay lost and depressed forever. It felt like my life ended there. But as the weeks went by, I started realizing that, as harsh as it can be, life goes on with or without you, and that not trying to live it at its fullest was meaningless.

Second thing you need to understand RIGHT NOW is that you didn't fail your mom as a son. I don't know how old you are, but not giving her grandchildren is not failing her. She left too early ; you have no reason to feel guilty. The sooner you will get that, the better you'll feel.

Third thing you need to understand is that you have the right to feel broken. You have the right to feel empty, and a lot of stuff will make you remember her. That's perfecly normal, but there again, this feel will slowly disappear over time. Keeping yourself busy is a good way to avoid this feeling of emptyness, but it won't help you get over it ; one day, you will have to accept this feeling and accept your loss.

Finally, keep in mind that you are not alone. You have your brother, your dad, your aunts. Nobody on this forum will understand you better than them ; do not hesitate to talk to them about your feelings.

Last thing I discovered when enduring my loss was that even if you feel weak as shit, trying hard to appear strong to the others will help a lot. You may be broken inside, but staying strong on the outside will make them your loved ones feel better - and therefore, will make you feel better. That's kind of a life hack actually, I don't know if it will work for you, at least it did for me.

  7. V 6.2 :

Got stuck in the left stairs in Narcissa Gym (the book was at the bottom of the stairs, and that's what got me stuck). Had to reload. Fuck dat gym.

EDIT : Narcissa's Spiritomb missed Hypnosis, despite the field saying that it shouldn't.

+ there's a useless comma in the script just after you beat her ("Player , got the Reaper Badge")

  8. Tangela backsprite seems to be floating above ground (at least the Shadow Tangela does, will tell you when I'll have purified it)

And there's a weird graphic bug when you withdraw it and Regenerate activates (hard to screen, but its suddendly dashed towards the bottom menu and only the top of its sprite is visible).

  9. Strange (but minor) bug : when walking with a companion, if you open the menu and go in any of the options (idk, save for example), you'll automatically speak to your companion when exiting the menu (if you were facing them).

EDIT : More annoying : when with Keta in the Xen Laboratory, you are given the choice to exit by using the elevator. If you say "no", your character simply keeps walking in the door no matter if you press the arrow keys, resulting in you getting stuck and having to reload.

EDIT 2 : In the Xen Laboratory, in the teleporters room, a teleporting sound plays when entering the door (instead of a normal "entering door" sound)

EDIT 3 : In the room with the Healing machine before the end, speaking to the PC doesn't actually give you access to the PC.

  10. Just started v6 and I must say you did a great job there Jan, the game is definitely much more enjoyable (and beautiful).

Here are a few bugs I encountered :

    - Surviving poison out of combat makes game crash sometimes

    - You can walk on a lot of tiles in the SS Ocenia : walls near stairs, ponds when the boat is attacked, tables...

    - You can walk on the door barring the entrance to the sewers even if Venam is still lying asking for her Berry (in which case the door is closed)

    - By the way, she asks for a Pecha iirc but later in the dialogue she says she always asks for Oran ? (might be confusing things on this one, not sure)

    - About Dr.Jenkel... I entered his building before going to Goldenwood Forest and he said "I invented a crazy machine blabla relive events blabla". When I speak to the computer, the game asks me " Which event do you want to relive ?" but no choice pops up (because I didn't went to the forest yet).

And after you beat Venam, Jenkel waits in front of the gym and talks to you like he's never seen you. He then brings you to his building saying "I'll tell you about the machine" but only says, when spoken to : "Come on try it out" or something like that.

By the way, why can't I purify Pokemons ? The machine worked perfectly fine before GoldenwoodForest, but is now " recharging"...

  11. I can't go back to Goldenleaf, the entrance is being blocked by people afraid of team Xen. There is a recovery component in the lab; the problem is the lack of wild Pokemon, even in the tall grass, making me unable to grind.

Jan pls halp ! I'd really like to see more of you game. :<

  12. Post your team and difficulty mode please.

Normal difficulty mode. Here's my team:

    Sharpedo lvl 35

    - Assurance

    - Ice Fang

    - Poison Fang

    - Slash

    Blaziken lvl 39

    - Focus Energy

    - Blaze Kick

    - Double Kick

    - Bulk Up

Pidgeot lvl 36 (shitty movepool indeed... trained it for Keta)

    - Agility

    - FeatherDance

    - Guts

    - Quick Attack

    Swoobat lvl 36

    - Confusion

    - Heart Stamp

    - Air Slash

    - Calm Mind

+ two free spots, used by a lvl 21 HM-Slave Bibarel and whatever Pokémon I catch.

  13. (First of all, I'd like to mention that, being French, I may make a few mistakes. Hope you'll still be able to understand me).

Well, I (finally) managed to sneak out of GoldenLeaf Town, and fought Team Xen all the way to their laboratory... Until the fight against Sharon & Eli comes.

There's no way I can beat them. Their Gyarados basically destroys my entire team (Blaziken/Sharpedo/Pidgeot/Swoobat), and there's no way to go back or try grinding since wild encounters don't occur in the area.

Does anyone have an idea to get me out of this, or am I stuck till I miraculously haxx enough to get past this fight ? :(
