  1. Tai

"You know, advice really isn't my thing, I just give people directions." Tejfidh said, "But my people had a concept called 'tejfrian' that I think might apply here." she seemed to be struggling quite a bit to figure out exactly what to say. "Literally it means 'the strength to restrain yourself,' but there's more to it than that. It's about responsibility, and how it comes with being strong."

Tejfidh picked up speed and got in front of Tai, walking backwards so she could look him in the eye. "Whatever your reason, you sought strength. But you lack tejfrian, and you were bested by those who understood the stakes that come with power. Gambling with the fate of even just one life shouldn't fun, and there are far more lives than one at stake here.

"If you want to have fun with your power, you first need to fulfill your responsibility. So long as that weight hangs over you, your strength will only be a burden."

For someone who claimed she wasn't very good at advice, Tejfidh had a lot to say on the matter. Something in her tone told Tai she had personal experience with these sorts of stakes.

Unfortunately, he wouldn't gee much time to reflect on Tejfidh's advice. As he neared the city, Tejfidh suddenly vanished, being almost immediately replaced by a different face that Tai would really wish he didn't recognize.

"You're quite tenacious." Chronos said as it blinked into existence in front of Tai, "This time I will have to be more final in my judgment."

But it didn't do anything, just stood there, analyzing Tai as if looking for something.

"Very well." It said finally, "If the strength to rend flesh has rescued you, then my exile must have been unfair. I shall see you safely back to the city."

Chronos turned and waited for Tai to resume walking, apparently content that showing up out of nowhere didn't warrant any further discussion.

"Hey I'm still here." Tejfidh whispered, this time her voice coming from within Tai's mind like it had with Cardinal, "I don't like to show my face without a good reason, so I had to hide from the body the timeless guardian is wearing."

  2. Hiroki

Luckily for Hiroki, her admonishment didn't draw any ire and the conversation successfully moved on.

Not so luckily, the moving on started with a deep sigh from Seeker. "If Watcher shows up, it will be as a villain. Which means he'll either be our enemy, or he thinks we're in the wrong. Either way, it's not good for us."

  3. Princess

Princess moved in silence as she poured Grima another glass of tea. There were many things she  ould say, but none she wanted to. Eventually she settled on a question that she couldn't bring herself to let go unasked.

"I was wondering," she started gingerly, "Why is it that you came here? Not here specifically, just... Why are you running Queen's errands? If he sent you here, you can't be a weakling, but you can't be anyone important to him either. And if you're strong but not important to him, why are you letting him control you?"

    Tai

"Well, you can't just do things. Our initial meeting was all in your head, I just inserted some of myself into it." Tejfidh explained, "I can't tell you why your fire is out, but I'd guess it's some sort of self-doubt. Your passion or spirit or confidence is wavering, and your mind represents that as the core of your mech going dark. At least that's what I think is up. Theoretically you could just be bored and the fire represents having fun. But usually something as important as a mech has a more profound meaning tied to it."

    Hiroki

Lord shook her head at the mention of Temperance. "Temperance is dying." she said bluntly, "She's very powerful, but that power comes from her artifical soul. We didn't see the signs in time." Lord trailed off.

"The strain of ucyng such a volatile method or fighting has caused Temperance's dream space to crack." Seeker picked up the explanation, "Because of its unnatural creation, it apparently can't repair itself properly after a fight. She collapsed during her exhibition match and she's been in a coma cynce. Leonard has been trying to do a patch job, but this is all completely new territory, so we have no idea if she's going to live."

There was a brief silence before Seeker again explained, "Watcher hasn't been seen in around fifteen years. No one even knows if he's still alive. Merlin has repeatedly refused to help us, apparently she 'can't defeat the fourth' whatever that means. Also, Blink is the only one who can get in contact with her reliably."

    Cardinal

After resting for a short while, Cardinal felt her power returning. It wasn't much, certainly not enough to transport herself to Gluttony again, but she could at least use her Eye to check on Tai. Focucyng on splitting her consciousness, she glimpsed into his dream space and...

    And...?

And nothing. Cardinal's head dropped into her hands as tears burst forth. Of course he was dead. He was dead and it was all her fault. None of this would have happened if she had just let him be. All she wanted was the freedom to meet and care for other people, and yet it had caused one of the few people she had cared for was now dead because of it. Was there even a point?

Cardinal couldn't tell if it was truly grief or just guilt, but whatever it was, the feeling she had was the worst she'd ever felt. Tai hadn't done anything to her, quite the opposite. He'd been nothing but kind to her, even after everything she had done to him.

She considered giving up, she deserved an eternity alone after what she had done. But she couldn't do it. Tai's death just further cemented her loneliness. he couldn't bear to feel this way for the rest of eternity, she had to escape, she just had to.

And so she called on her power once more. This time she reached for a mind she knew would be there, though not one that she could just intrude upon whenever she wanted. After a moment, the proprietor of the dream space she was accescyng opened the door in his mental barriers. Being that he was a man of extreme power that rivaled even her own, Cardinal was always a little wary of talking to him.

    "Hey gramps," Cardinal said.

    "Hello Belial," the man replied.

"I told you to stop calling me that," Cardinal pouted.

"When you stop calling me old."

    "You are old."

"And I don't need you to remind me every time we talk. What did you need?"

"I just wanted to check in, there's a war going on after all," Cardinal lied.

"No, thats not why you called." of course he saw right through her, he had complete mastery of his own mind, reaching into hers while she was there was effortless for him.

"No, it's not," Cardinal admitted, "I just lost someone and I feel miserable."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I know not many people have been around for you. Do you need to talk about i"

Cardinal thought about that for a minute before finally answering, "No. I'm alright."

"Let me know if you change your mind," the man replied, before asking, "While I have you, hows the war effort going?

"I think it's alright, Arcturus has a plan to get it over with quickly," Cardinal explained, "That woman you told us about agreed to help. I didn't think someone who knew Lord so well would actually come over to our side."

"I'm glad things are going well. Keep it up."

Cardinal wasn't satisfied, though, something was still eating at her. "Watcher?"

    "Hmm?"

"I'd this really okay? I really won't hurt anyone like the gods say I will?"

"Everything will work out," Watcher assured her.

Cardinal thought about Tai one last time. It hadn't worked out for him. She couldn't bring herself to say anything.

"You went out of your way to help Tai, and things didn't work out. Who was it who told you to let him handle himself?"

"You're right, this wouldn't have happened if I'd listened to you. Thanks gramps." Cardinal said, choking back tears as he Wright of the reaoonbility piled onto her once again.

"No problem, Belial. Remember, my door is always open to you if you need to talk."

"Thanks, I really appreciate you listening to and helping me." Cardinal didn't know what she would have done without Watcher's encouragement, "I'll see you later."

"I look forward to it." Watcher smiled reassuringly as Cardinal left his mind.

What Cardinal didn't see afterwards was Watcher's grimace of regret. Lying to and manipulating a child wasn't particularly high on his list of things he wanted to be doing. But it was his duty as the Third Prince to take up the role of villain. Lord might have bested him in the past, but this time he would achieve his goal. This time he would create a truly virtuous hero, one worthy of the title of Hope.

  4. Sceleratis

Mayu shook her head. "No idea. Normally the taisha would explain things to me, but they're not exactly here." she explained, a hint of fear grasping the edge of her voice, "The jukai is here but there's no sign of Shinju-sama or the Vertex, so I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do."

Her frog croaked as if trying to say something, but, seeing as none of them were frogs, no one understood what it meant.

    Haruka

Twoearle sighed and set Kyubey on the ground so he could return to Haruka." I'm going to wake Miss Chihiro so we can try to figure out how we're going to handle this. I wish you the best, but maybe we should stay away from each other unless we're planning to fight."

  5. Having already forgotten about his earlier action, Bard was a little surprised by the returned punch, but didn't think much of it.

He did think a good deal about the doctor, whose explanation he didn't exactly trust. But he chose to accept it for now. As long as no fuss was made, Bard wouldn't make a fuss either.

As for their task, follow an angel? Bard hoped it was the latter then. Though really he supposed if he was going to be concerned about an angel he needed to be concerned about everyone else here. They were all there to kill demons, there was a good chance they had a reason for that.

"So when do we start?" he asked, his cheerful question not showing a hint of his worries. This wasn't because he was good at hiding them, he'd just immediately stopped caring.

  6. Betwere

Though he was somehow maintaining his cool outwardly, inside Betwere was in full alarm mode. He'd only been here for a week and a half. He barely knew what he was doing with basic things, and personal information, like phone numbers, was not basic. And Alexus's tits why was the tiny one smiling like that?

Moving very deliberately, Betwere opened a drawer and started searching for the relevant forms while he explained the situation to the girl. "I can take a phone number, but you'll have to fill out a waiver. Do you have self-signing permission from your mother or legal guardian?"

  7. Lilith

Lilith wasn't used to being treated so formally, and actually kind of liked it, even if Betwere was taking it to a bit of a ridiculous degree. Still, she stayed quiet and let Arturia do the talking.

When Arturia mentioned there reason for being there, Betwere immediately started typing on his computer. "I'll double check." he said, "But I believe Made Lucille put in for some emergency time off the other day." he focused on the computer for a short while and his face fell, "I'm sorry, Mades Dearest, she did indeed take some time off for an emergency trip to Nayo. If it's nothing urgent, I can take a message and try to get in contact with her."

While Betwere was talking with Arturia, Lilith was looking around the room and trying to avoid getting involved in the interaction. As she glanced around, she noticed a mirror hanging on the wall nearby. It was just one of many items mixed in with paintings and some wooden carvings of holy symbols, but it stood out to her. Suddenly she knew where she and Arturia could get enough silver for their purposes. In her excitement she nearly announced it outright, but managed to stifle herself enough to reduce it to a giddy smile while they were still with company.

  8. Bard pulled a small plastic tube out of his pocket and untied one of the bags of powder, pouring a not-insignificant amount into the tube. He couldn't share too much, but they were heading to fight deadly monsters, it couldn't hurt to be a little friendly to someone who could save his life.

"Here you go, Sam." he said, capping the tube and handing it over with a grin.

Notably, the grin revealed that Bard possessed extremely pointy canines. Also surprisingly clean teeth for someone who looked like a complete hobo.

  9. "I wasn't offering you any." Bard replied to the doctor with a huff, crossing his arms to accentuate his disproval.

Bard wasn't a fan of doctors, they were always making a weird fuss about his body. "Breast cancer" this "gynecologist" that. Just a big load of crap, he was fine as he was. He tried to avoid them if at all possible, and he certainly wasn't going to share his powdery lifeblood with one.

  10. A homeless woman walked up to the demon hunters and Markus, having arrived well before the rest of the group. A black and blue weapon vaguely shaped like a shotgun was slung over her right shoulder by a strap that tugged her already wide open shirt even further apart from itself. The left pocket of her jeans held a red handgun, with a bullet sized hole in the pocket suggesting that this arrangement wasn't exactly safe. On the other side, three bags of white powder were tied to the woman's belt strap.

Bard had arrived early, mostly because he had gotten excited at the idea of a job, but also partly because he literally had nothing else to do. With the others finally arriving, Bard got a chance to look them over, his eyes rapidly darting to each and quickly establishing a basic idea of what he thought was up with each of them.

Hisoka: interesting, probably dangerous. Offer coke.

Kamen rider: small, cute, probably annoying. Offer coke.

Mohawk: definitely a party, probably fun. Punch in the shoulder, offer coke.

Shiny girl alter: cuter, probably less dangerous. Offer coke.

Flame boy: lamer than he thinks, probably lame. Offer coke.

Monochrome: very cool, probably not dangerous. Offer coke.

"Hey there, I'm... Uhhhh..." Bard started to introduce himself, but his name was beyond him as always. When it didn't come to him, he shrugged and walked over to Mohawk, extending his fist and touching her shoulder very lightly with it. "Anyone want some coke?" he asked the crowd, completely ignoring the girl's reaction to his ineffective punch.

  11. Story

A group of childhood friends who have all turned fifteen recently meet up at their favorite place to eat chicken wings. This will be their last time eating at this particular location in the chain of restaurants for some time, as once they finish eating they'll be off to visit Professor Magnolia and begin a journey across the region together in the hopes of becoming Pokémon masters.

Though such a journey seems like a simple undertaking, the group of friends are destined to encounter a variety of challenges, meet new rivals, and thwart the attempts of Team Revival to bring the world of the dead into the world of the living.

Par for the course for an aspiring Pokémon master, or group thereof.

    Gyms

    Spoiler

The most important part of a Pokémon journey is challenging the eight gyms across the region to earn the right to compete against the Elite Four and the region's champion. Gym Leaders are all very strong trainers, but will select Pokémon and rulesets to fight with based on what they think will provide the right level of difficulty for the challenger. The party's primary goal across the RP will be to challenge these gyms.

    Blazing Chicken

    Spoiler

A restaurant chain famous across Surpla and one that the party has grown up eating. Alongside their Pokémon journey, they have a secondary goal to eat at every Blazing Chicken location in the region. At first glance this task might seem much easier than taking on Pokémon gyms, but Blazing Chicken is a favorite among trainers, making it a prime spot for encountering some of the toughest battles around.

    Team Revival

    Spoiler

A strange group of occultists who believe in the ability to communicate with the dead. Their ultimate goal is to bring together the world of the dead with the world of the living. They don't go out of their way to cause trouble, but if someone gets in the way they won't hesitate to turn their Ghost and Psychic type Pokémon on the interloper. Unfortunately for the party, as their journey progresses, it will become apparent that being those interloper and defeating Team Revival must become one of their goals if they are to complete the other two.

    Region

The Surpla Region is a region defined by consumerism. Cities full of people who spend and spend, driving an extremely powerful economic engine that feeds a high speed life of excess.

Oftentimes life goes by too fast in the cities, and the people of Surpla's villages feel left behind and forgotten. This has only gotten worse in recent times, as events in other regions and an uptick in Pokémon related crime have led to an increase in the regulation of Pokémon for personal use. This makes it harder for the independent workers who heavily rely on Pokémon to compete with much less regulated companies.

These regulations also challenge tradition, as now children who would set out on Pokémon journeys as young as ten must wait until they are at least fifteen to acquire a Pokémon trainer license and set out to challenge the region's gyms.

This delay and the increased regulations as a whole have led to a gradual decrease in the number of trainers across the region. Most people have come to view Pokémon as pets or tools rather than a sport or companions, with some even seeing young Pokémon trainers as little more than hooligans.

    Mechanics

Though combat will be largely freeform, there are some guidelines to help decide who wins. As a general rule, you shouldn't be playing fights with the expectation of winning, but rather with the intent to make any outcome feel satisfying and earned for both parties. At the end of the day, a satisfying resolution takes precedence over mechanics.

    Switching and Team Size

    Spoiler

To encourage quicker resolutions, switching will be heavily restricted. You may only switch out your Pokémon for another under the following conditions:

    • Once per fight regardless of the other conditions
    • You've just defeated an opposing Pokémon
    • A move is used that causes a switch

Moves such as Mean Look will prevent switching by any method, including moves.

You may carry up to six Pokémon on your person, but it is generally good sportsmanship to only fight with as many Pokémon as your opponent. Earlier gyms will have lower Pokémon counts as a rule for challenging them.

    Moves and Type Effectiveness

    Spoiler

The general effects of moves will be taken directly from the games and it will be up to the players to justify their effects through rp (I.E. I don't care that magnemite floats, earthquake still obliterates it). The main exceptions to this are stat altering moves, which will be considered a temporary buff and moves which only have an effect in double battles (helping hand) which will be given alternate single battle effects on a case by case basis.

Type effectiveness will be taken into account, but overall not considered that important in the grand scheme of things. Immunities will be in full force. STAB is relevant and a Pokémon using moves of its own type should be more successful than when using other moves.

    Level and Nature

    Spoiler

Level is a general measure of a Pokemon's stats and combat power. It shouldn't affect things too much. In general, so long as two Pokémon are within ten levels of each other, level will be a non-factor in their victory. The main way level will come into play is in regards to Pokémon becoming stronger.

Mechanically, nature is primarily a factor in determining Role. It should be accounted for with your Pokémon's personality, which can come into play in battle. Nature's most profound effect is in regards to your Partner Pokémon, which will gain a specific bonus ability based on their nature.

    Role

    Spoiler

Each Pokémon will be given a Role based on its Species, Ability, and Nature. This role is effectively a stand-in for ivs and evs, and greatly affects a Pokémon’s ability to perform certain actions. There are four general roles which each have several subroles based on which stats they prioritize. (the names of roles are loosely based on competitive, but don't read too much into that)

    Attacker

Attackers are fast and can dish out damage like nobody's business, but struggle to take hits. High in speed and their attacking stat. Subroles: Special, Physical, Mixed

    Tank

Tanks can take hits and punch back. They won't be as adept at moving around the battlefield as their raw attacking counterparts, but make up for it with the ability to shrug off attacks. High in hp and their attacking stat. Subroles: Special, physical, mixed

    Wall

Walls take hits and keep taking them. They may make use of attacks for chip damage or status moves to weaken their goes, but their main goal is simply to sponge hits. High in hp and their defending stat. Subroles: Special, physical, mixed

    Support

Supports specialize in using status moves and unique abilities to lay the groundwork for their allies to succeed. They may work to strengthen an ally with weather or by passing on buffs, or try to spend time wearing down an opponent. High in hp and speed. Subroles: setup, stall, control

    Items

    Spoiler

Items exist and may be used during battles. More official battles, such as gyms, will have restrictions set on the number of items that can be used. You are responsible for tracking your own inventory, and it should be accessible to me from your sheet so I can keep an eye on it.

    Held Items

    Spoiler

Rather than activating under specific conditions, a Pokémon must be commanded to make use of their held item in combat. Otherwise, held items will largely work like they do in the games (specific items may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). Single use items such as berries will be replenished after a fight so you can use them without worry.

    Money?

    Spoiler

No money will officially be tracked. Shopping will instead be done on a points system, with each shop having a certain number of points that you can spend on it and each available item having a different point cost based on rarity and value.

    Catching and Strengthening Pokémon

Throughout the RP it will of course be possible for you to acquire and stengthen various Pokémon. For the most part this will be done in a very loose manner, much like combat, but there are still a few things to discuss.

    Catching New Pokémon

    Spoiler

Any new Pokemon you encounter are guaranteed to be caught, but encountering them is a more complex matter. When entering a new area, you'll be shown a list of Pokémon that can appear in that area and their encounter rates, as well as the total number of encounter chances you have in that area. You'll then be asked to select up to three of the available Pokémon to try to capture, as well as how many and what type of Pokeballs you want to use. Pokeballs will be used up regardless of what you encounter, so take care.

RNG will be applied to see how many encounters you'll have and with which Pokémon. Having major status moves, false swipe, or an appropriate Pokeball prepared will increase encounter rates. Once your encounters are decided, they'll be thrown at you to RP through across your time in the area.

Newly caught Pokémon will have a random Nature and Ability.

    Starter Pokémon

    Spoiler

Your starter Pokémon will be granted to you at the start of the story from one of Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie. There's only one of each available, so you'll need to work with other players and come to an agreement on which you get. As with wild Pokémon, your Nature and Ability will be randomly decided after you get your Starter.

    Legends

    Spoiler

When encountering certain Pokémon, catching them is no longer a guarantee. They must first be battled to prove your strength before they will accept you as master. Only after fighting and defeating them will you be allowed to capture them.

    Breeding

    Spoiler

    No

    Pokémon Storage

    Spoiler

While you can only carry six Pokémon on your person, you can store an infinite amount in Your PC, which can be accessed from any Pokemon center. As with items, you are responsible for tracking your own Pokémon storage.

    Partner Pokémon

    Spoiler

Over the course of the story, you may be given the chance to have one of your Pokémon upgraded to a partner Pokémon. Your partner will fight with greater passion and vigor than any of your other Pokémon, and will gain a special bonus ability based on their Nature.

This is a rare bond that very few trainers and Pokémon share, but that massively improves the synchronization between trainer and Pokémon. The toughest battles often come down to contest between two partner Pokémon.

    Leveling Up and Evolving

    Spoiler

Your Pokémon will gain levels based entirely upon GM discretion and actions taken in RP. Typically level ups will comes after fights, but may also come as a result of bonding moments or other forms of training.

Evolution conditions will be largely unchanged save for a few which rely on game mechanics (trade, for example) which will be evaluated on a case by case basis. If your Pokémon has multiple evolutions which can be obtained under conditions you can't fully control (such as day/night), you may make requests towards your preference.

Friendship evolutions will be decided based purely on RP.

    Learning Moves

    Spoiler

Moves will mostly be learned via level up, but other methods of learning moves can be found, such as TMs and Move Tutors. TMs will have limited uses, but won't be single use. Some move tutors may be able to teach Pokémon moves they wouldn't otherwise be able to learn.

    Changing and Hiding Abilities

    Spoiler

Abilities will be able to be changed through RP at certain points using a sort of “ability tutor,” this will even allow access to hidden abilities, which could not otherwise be acquired. As with move tutors, it may also be possible to acquire abilities that a Pokémon wouldn't otherwise have access to through these ability tutors.

    Other

Being a Lexi RP, this will inevitably run at Lexi pace. That means lots of posts in short bursts and then a delay for a while before another burst. Just a heads up for the un-lexi-initiated.

I'll be looking for a maximum of five players, as I don't want to make the group too large. As such, if many people apply I'll be picking and choosing who stays based on which characters I think will be the best fit for the RP.

I also intend for the PCs to all be friends with each other, so if the above does occur I'll leave some space before starting for players to sort out their relationships after they know which other players they're working with.

Discord, pop on here and request the KFC role if you have any questions or want to talk to me about anything RP related.

  12. Haruka

"Monsters made of despair, huh?" Twoearle mused, "That would certainly be troublesome to fight. I think the most unfortunate thing we've had to deal with was an old friend of mine who turned out to be our enemy." Twoearle looked around and then back at Haruka, her face saddening "I guess that's changed now that we're here."

    Mayu

Mayu flexed her hand a couple of times, still uncertain about the handshake. "I guess if you trained your whole life for something you must be pretty good at it. I became a magical girl only a few minutes before my first time fighting."

Mayu grimaced, apparently remembering something unsavory. Perhaps that first fight hadn't gone well, or perhaps it had gone too well. In any case, thinking about it clearly upset her.

  13. Hiroki

The gods shared a look in response to Hiroki's protest, silently coming to a decision on how to respond.

After a silence just long enough to be uncomfortable, Lord spoke up to say, "Well, thats that then. If we agree to Aries's terms, Hiroki will face Arcturus."

"It's still a big if." Gryffin pointed out, "I think we should at least consider who they have to fight us with and whether we have someone to counter them, try to measure our chances of success."

"Slumbering Giant, Arcturus, the Councilor." Seeker listed off the first three potential opponents, "I'm not sure who else they would even be able to field."

"I hate to even suggest it," Queen said apprehensively, "but what about Princess?" He shot Lord a wary look and was visibly tense.

Lord, for her part, managed to stay relatively calm. "That's impossible! I refuse to even consider the suggestion." she said with all the tranquility of a raging bull, "That woman may not be our ally, but she would never become our enemy."

"How can we even speculate?" Bear asked, "We've been so focused on the tournament competitors, we don't really know about many other strong fighters. We could be facing complete unknowns."

"Theres also the matter of the multitude of competitors who didn't see eye-to-eye with us and left. We still don't know je full extent of Supernova's relationship with Cardinal." Queen pointed out.

Hiroki noticed Gryffin looking at her a lot as the other gods were talking, he seemed to be expecting her to speak up again. Apparently she wasn't the only one at the table who was uncomfortable with their seat.

    Tai

Tejfidh giggled at Tai's empty compliment, "Don't be silly, that place is a mess." the way she laughed, she really seemed like an innocent child and not an ancient being of presumably unfathomable power.

"And I'm not doing anything with your mech, you're the one who put that core there." she explained, though her tone almost sounded like she was chiding him, "I thought it was important that you see, because the only person who can put a fire like that out is its creator."

  14. Mika

Mika felt her heart sink when Apollo made a segue onto another topic. She really just wanted to get out of this conversation, and was sure she'd regret letting her guest into her home for the rest of her life. She thought about trying to point out that it was late as a way to get Apollo to leave, but was too anxious to assert herself.

"Are you from somewhere far away?" Mika asked, immediately kicking herself for the inquiry. Passive listening might leave room for Apollo to stop, but if Mika asked questions the interaction was guaranteed to drag on.

  15. Hiroki

"I think that might be the entire point." Seeker responded to Hiroki, "We don't know much about Arcturus, but aside from being enigmatic, one thing we do know for certain is that he fancies himself a knight. Honor and chivalry and all that. He challenged you, but on the battlefield the chances of a one on one fight are much smaller. He might have pushed Aries to do this in the hopes of having his challenge met."

"I think that's part of it." Bear agreed, "But I also think Aries may have been telling the truth, he wants to keep this fight short too. That doesn't mean he'll give up his advantages entirely, but sacrificing some of them to ensure a swift resolution to a fight that he would otherwise only win by dragging it on might be his only option."

"Well, if we agree, we won't give Arcturus what he wants." Lord added her opinion, "He'll win no matter who we put against him, so we should just put someone out who can hold their own for a while to learn more about his abilities. Hiroki is our strongest play, so we should conserve her to take on one of their stronger fighters that she can actually defeat."

  16. Kallisto

"So, you wanted to talk?" Kallisto asked the strange woman before her. She didn't seem like much, but she had asked Kallisto here under the claim of being the one to revive the goddesses, so Kallisto was extremely wary.

"I did. We have much to discuss." Her replied in a measured tone.

    "How?"

"I suppose that would be the most pertinent question, very well." Her pulled a curtain off the wall, revealing a mirror, "This mirror can reflect anything, so I visited your children and used the mirror to reflect you across time through their bonds."

"Huh, that's surprisingly simple. I don't suppose you'll tell me what my son is up to?"

"Deucalion is the leader of a cult in Layo where he ritually maims sacrifices and tells the future using sunspots. I hear he takes after his mother."

"I'm glad he's doing well, but you wouldn't be telling me unless you intended to ask me for something in return." Kallisto noted that the woman who had brought her here, Delilah, had left the room. Her must have been extremely confident in either her abilities or her offer to face down a goddess on her own.

"Have you played Queens?" Her asked, holding up a Knight piece from the mentioned game.

"I know what game you're playing, and I have my own plans to win."

"Thats the thing, I'm not playing yet." Her put the knight into her pocket, "I was hoping you might be willing to let me join in."

"You want my knight to be on your side. If you have control of my defense, I'll have no choice but to listen to you." Kallisto understood perfectly, but that was only half of the bargain, "What do I get out of it?"

    "Your brother."

"You're bluffing, I failed. And he doesn't have someone to link your mirror to."

"You didn't fail though, it just took a while for the results to become clear."

Kallisto still couldn't accept it, "How do you know where he is when I don't?"

"He came to me, offered to join my cause thinking we had a common goal, but he thinks too small. I don't want to destroy you."

Destroy. Kallisto should have known he'd hold a grudge. Bringing him back wouldn't undo the sin she and her sisters had committed. It certainly hadn't assuaged her guilt, success didn't undo the irreparable harm she had caused to all of them.

"I appreciate the offer, but I can find him on my own. Telling me he exists at all is more than enough." Kallisto turned to walk out of the room.

"I'm sorry, but your ability to leave is also part of the deal." Her said, her voice still perfectly measured.

"I was hoping you'd say that."

An arrow crashed through the window, heading on a perfect trajectory for Her's heart. Her was unfazed, and the mirror behind her flared to life with a pale green glow, causing the arrow to spin around and fly back in the direction it came from.

Behind Kallisto, there was a scream which was suddenly cut short by a gurgling choke. Natalie walked up beside Kallisto, a metal spike coated in ice and frozen blood extended from her palm.

"I don't think I can get past that." Natalie said.

"Not alone, but she seems to have to consciously defend herself, so enough attacks at once and you can get through."

"Got it." Natalie nodded and sprinted forward, a purple sword materializing in her free hand. She slashed upwards with the sword, but Her effortlessly deflected the attack, causing Natalie to be flung backwards.

Natalie kept her attacks up and Arya's arrows continued to fly through the window, but Her had no trouble deflecting them, so long as she kept her eyes on her attackers. Unfortunately for her, that meant her eyes weren't on Kallisto, who walked walked around the room to get behind her, standing next to the mirror. At Kallisto's signal, Natalie and Arya stopped their attacks and Her finally realize what had happened.

"This mirror is impressive and very unique." Kallisto said, reaching out to touch it, "I'm told that weapons such as this are bound to their wielder after their creation."

"Yes, no matter how you try, that mirror will only respond to me." Her boasted, but her calm voice wavered slightly. The mirror flared to life, and started to reflect Kallisto's hand away.

Kallisto shook her head, "No, I don't think so." she said as a shield of flames burst from her hand and surrounded the mirror. Rsthet than being reflected away, the flames locked at the mirror and the edges of it began to melt. Her's face paled in fear as she realized what was happening. The mirror snapped off the wall and appended itself to Kallisto's forearm, searing itself to her skin as it turned into a shield.

Kallisto's new weapon was split into two disks, a larger one serving as the main shield and a smaller one which attached to her arm. The larger disk spun freely from the smaller disk, a function that's use was quickly made apparent as Kallisto swung her arm, causing the shield to spin rapidly and detach from her arm. Cloaked in flames, it spun through the air and sheared off Her's arm, causing the woman to scream in agony.

"Before I kill you, I'd like to ask one thing." Kallisto said, "Who are you really?"

Her clenched her teeth and fought through the pain to answer, "Why don't you ask my father? Tell him Mary says hello."

Rather than let Kallisto kill her, Mary channeled her true power and caused the ice on Natalie's spike to echo through the air and impale her through the chest.

    Lilith

Lilith seemed uncomfortable at the mention of jewelry. "I, um, I do have some jewelry, but we'd have to go back." she explained. "And I don't want you to see those things." she thought to herself. "I don't think that would be enough anyways, we need something bigger, around the size of those little carvings people put on shelves and stuff."

Lilith had no idea where to get that much silver, and money was even tougher for her than Arturia, since she'd relied entirely on Cora for support the last two years. Maybe Miss Katherine could help. Lilith still didn't like the idea of visiting the teacher for some reason, but it seemed like Arturia trusted her, and Lilith trusted Arturia.

The offices were in a different building from the dorms, but close enough to connected by a hallway between them. While each teacher had their own individual office, they were clustered into several branches to make it easier for teachers with similar responsibilities to communicate with one another. Being a general guidance teacher, Miss Katherine's office was in the largest branch, one which had a reception room to help organize visiting students.

Surprisingly, despite the tumultuous nature of moving students around, Arturia and Lilith were currently the only visitors. The only other person in the room was the receptionist, a boy about Arturia's age. A very pretty boy with practically glistening medium brown skin and curly black hair. Though his features were soft and almost girlish in places, Lilith could tell he was a rather strong boy, at least compared to the absolute noodles that receptionists usually were.

On seeing the two girls enter, the boy directed his orange eyes towards the floor, his head quickly following in a submissive bow. It contrasted pretty oddly with his appearance, Lilith had been expecting more confidence from someone so well-groomed.

"Hello Mades Dearest, I am your most humble Betwere, how may I be of service to you this fine evening?" his greeting was ridiculously formal, even for a man performing a service job. Lilith figured he was probably new and was still sorting out how to weave his name into introductions without seeming presumptuous.

  17. Tai

"Yes, actually." Tejfidh answered, "Back before the rupture, that was my home." she spoke of the past, but didn't hold any clear emotion towards it.

Unlike with Cardinal, Tejfidh's voice didn't come from within Tai's own mind, but rather from next to him. When he looked over, Tejfidh was physically there. And unlike in the building, Tai could actually get a clear look at her. Strangely, rather than the robe he'd seen before, she seemed to be clothed by several large patches of moss, or maybe she was clothed in large patches of skin and the moss was her actual body.

    Hiroki

Lord nodded, "That sounds like him. Leaving cryptic snippets and expecting you to figure out his meaning. Considering he outright said what he wanted, you're actually one of the lucky ones."

Lord turned her attention to Gryffin to explain, "I'll keep this brief since you're to only one who isn't aware. Arcturus is an extremely powerful entity of unknown origin, similar to Blink's ditzy girlfriend Merlin-"

Bear, of all people, was the one to interrupt Lord with his failure to stifle a laugh. "Sorry, sorry." he apologized, nearly laughing again, "I'm not sure how you can be so aptly describe something without a hint of accuracy, it's quite funny."

Lord rolled her eyes, though she looked a little amused herself, and continued, "Anyways, Arcturus is similar to Merlin, but he's not been as openly interested in working with us gods. He rarely shows himself, and when he does he tends to erase almost all memory of his presence. As with his origin, how he can do this is also unknown."

"Well, that's terrifying." Gryffin didn't sound terrified in the slightest, "But if he can erase memories, how do we even know he's a threat?"

"Because your- Because Watcher has fought him before and it ended in a stalemate." Seeker said, causing Gryffin's eyes to widen in shock.

"Da- I mean, Watcher can't beat him?" this time his fear was definitely present, "Why haven't we surrendered?"

"I'll take him on." Lord said firmly, "I don't care how powerful he is, I'll find a way to win."

"No, you won't." a new voice joined the conversation from a shadowy corner of the room. They all recognized it, and it wasn't a pleasant voice to hear.

"You don't get an opinion, Karnan." Queen told Aries, "You're the one who put us in this position in the first place."

The shadows once again spoke in Aries's voice, "You put this on yourselves. We wouldn't be in this mess in the first place if you'd put your compassion in front of your fear. We can't defeat Cardinal, but that doesn't mean we can't stop her."

"Why are you even here?" Seeker demanded.

"Not for you, that's for certain." Aries shot back, "I wanted to let you all know that Envy isn't exactly an alliance I'm proud of, I didn't know who was leading the coup until I'd already agreed. Blink and I don't always see eye to eye, but I didn't mean to hurt her any deeper than usurping her rule." Aries paused uncomfortably before changing the subject, "And I have an offer. In the spirit of your little tournament, I'd like to suggest a small competition: our five strongest, your five strongest, one on one, no gods. Losing team surrenders the war."

"Why? You have the advantage." Queen asked, bewildered.

"No, time isn't on either of our sides. The sooner this is resolved, the better. I'll even let you pick who fights which members of our side of you want."

"We'll need time to consider your offer before we make a decision." Lord told him.

"Sure, I'll call back later." Aries agreed, "You'll need to find your own transportation, so keep that in mind."

  18. Platinum

"Oh dear, I didn't mean to interrupt. Of course you can call back later." Platinum's mother said, the fact that she was being genuine making what followed even more agitating, "But while I have you, I wanted to let you know that I'll be traveling to Nayo for work over the next couple of weeks. Now I know you went to a school with housing so you didn't ha e to worry about my travel schedule, but I still feel terrible leaving you for so long, so I asked your Auntie Silver to come check on you while I'm gone."

Luckily for Platinum, Aunt Silver was much more subdued than her older sister. She'd probably only agreed to the checkups because of how long Platinum's mother's business trip was going to take, Platinum had never known Aunt Silver to agree to anything without a good reason.

    Lilith

"Well, there are the other options I mentioned, but milk would be significantly more stable and much easier to get, since you can always just buy some at the supermarket." Lilith explained, "It's the metals, the silver especially, that are hard to come by. And if I get the ratio wrong the whole thing is ruined, so even if we get enough there's a chance of it all being wasted to first try."

Lilith wasn't sure why, but talking about this made her feel calmer, more focused. This weapon, it felt important to her to make it. More important than even she could truly know.

  19. Platinum

"Hello!" an extremely cheerful voice responded to Platinum, "It's mummykins, how's my little princess doing? I hope your move went well.Kisses!"

As always, Platinum's mother showed her "princess" with love but didn't give Platinum any chance to get a word in edgewise.

    Lilith

Lilith wasn't sure exactly what Arturia was embarrassed about, their earlier conversation had been full of so many embarrassing things that it was impossible to guess. The hall was a good idea, they would have at least a little freedom to talk out there.

Trying not to make things any more awkward, Lilith agreed quietly and headed for the door, saying only a brief goodbye to Arturia's roommates.

    Mack

Mack returned to her desk and her book. Being a librarian again was a little dull, but it was the only position she actually had the credentials to get. It wasn't like it was the worst, Mack did legitimately enjoy the job. And she couldn't have done a more active job anyways, not while her arm was still at least a week from fully functional.

She had hoped Arturia would have come to the library by now, but it seemed Mack was fated to only look upon other cute girls. A call would have been nice though. After trying so hard to kill each other, the least a girl could offer was a phone call.

As if the universe itself heard her complaints, Mack's phone chose that very instant to ring. When the caller ID showed an unknown number, her heart leapt as she thought she might actually have her wish granted. Unfortunately, the response to her, "Heyo, Mack here, who's this?" Was a barely intelligible, "HI, I'm dead people."

"Oh, upside down kid. I guess you got a phone." Mack replied, cloaking her disappointment in surprise.

"Wizardry does not come cheap, the earth holds a great bounty." Trick replied in her usual gibberish.

"You're using a payphone with some spare change you found on the ground, aren't you?" Mack felt she was getting pretty good at parsing Trick's nonsense.

"What path does the rebellious one take?" Trick changed the subject, confirming Mack's suspicions.

"Seth? I dunno, I ditched Her after I botched the Alexus capture. She probably didn't want me to stay anyways, seemed real mad that I went for Layla instead."

"Your time is no longer held by gold?"

"I mean, I still work, just not for Her."

    "How much?"

Mack nearly jumped out of her seat at the bluntness of Trick's question. After all the riddles, it was actually harder for Mack to accept what Trick was saying when she was this straightforward. "Whoa, slow down kid." Mack answered, "You're calling me with sidewalk change, there's no way you can afford my prices. I only do free under specific conditions."

"The location is safe, but travel is tricky."

"Oh really?" Mack supposed that could work, "So one of your 'dead people' has some free riches, but you can't get there. I suppose I'll trade the location for a job, so long as it's not too risky."

"The guardian of the sea must find the key."

"Alexus doesn't have a knight yet, that's why I was supposed to kidna-"

"The key, yes." Trick interrupted, a sense of urgency in her voice. Mack supposed she must have run out of coins.

"Right, yoy want me to find her a knight, will do. You can give me that location next time you find a phone. I don't usually work without an advance, but I'll make an exception for a magical girl who floats on her head."

Mack didn't get a response, just a click as the line disconnected. Seemed that was it from Trick, at least for the time being. Mack supposed she should get to work right away, she'd seen Alexus in the library earlier. If she got lucky, she could have the job done by the end of the day.

  20. "Nice to meet you, I'm high."

    Spoiler

    Name: Vanessa Ardelean, “Bard”

Age: 153 (since his memories cut off, actual age unknown)

    Sex: Female

    Gender: Female

    Species: Demon

Appearance: A tall woman with inhumanly pale skin. Has blood red eyes that dart about wildly. Short hair as black as night peeks out from under a dirty grey beanie, slightly longer on the left. Despite most definitely being malnourished, is quite healthy and filled out. An unfortunate distraction, as a faded red plaid shirt that is never buttoned is far from equipped to cover everything. Ragged blue jeans and mismatched black and red sneakers complete the outfit.

Personality: Observant but hyperactive, Bard absorbs details like a sponge, but can never seem to focus on them. He's difficult to communicate with effectively, and will often completely forget he's participating in a conversation with you. His lack of awareness often leads to nonsensical babbling and unintentional (most of the time) rudeness.

When given a clear task to focus on, Bard can become surprisingly competent. His instincts are very strong despite the failings of his conscious mind, and his hyper-alert state allows him to quickly find and solve problems.

On occasion, a more stable version of Bard’s personality will slip through, showing her to be capable of being very focused and calculating, but rarely will this last as the drugs once again overwhelm the fragile balance of his mind.

    Red Orb count: 500

    Gimmick: Snow White Blood

Bard is a specific sort of demon that many would refer to as a vampire, becoming much more powerful and sporting a wide range of vampiric abilities when drinking blood. However, he uses drugs to stave off his hunger for the blood of innocents, and hasn't drank any blood in decades. As such, he's been left with only a few of his vampiric abilities: Enhanced regeneration, enhanced speed, shapeshifting into a bat, and mind domination while maintaining eye contact.

Unfortunately, he also retains a vampires full suite of weaknesses: wooden stakes, being immersed in running water, and being decapitated will all kill him. While sunlight, garlic, and holy symbols will weaken him further than his lack of blood already has. In addition, if he ever sobers up, the extreme craving for blood will not be pretty, making it in everyone's best interest to keep him high.

Bard regenerates very quickly so long as he isn't exposed to sunlight. While at full health, he gains a boost to his Skill.

    Weapons:

    Type A

A red handgun that shoots silver bullets. It doesn't appear to be anything special, but Bard has had it longer than he can remember and he's never once had to repair it.

    Lightning Shotgun

A shotgun that shoots a slew of short range energy bolts similar to a lightning strike. Though short ranged and largely uncontrollable, the bolts do home in on the nearest living target, making them capable of doing massive damage up close.

    Styles:

    Dance on the Clouds

A style focused on staying alive and far away from enemies. Bard relies on his speed to keep his distance while using Type A to pepper enemies with bullets, only going in with his shotgun when there is a completely safe opening.

Need a Hit, Just a Bit

Bard shifts to be much more aggressive, taking every opportunity he sees to rush enemies and blast them with his shotgun. He relies on his natural speed and regeneration for most of his defense, using Type A's unusual resilience to parry attacks in a pinch.

Trigger: Batshit Up the Fucking Belfry

Bard transforms into not just one bat, but dozens of bats. He can freely transfer his mind to any of them and change into his human form at that location, effectively allowing him to rapidly teleport around the battlefield, so long as he has a bat in place to teleport to. The effect ends when only one bat is left alive.

Backstory: The first thing Bard remembers is withdrawal. There was something before that, definitely, but he couldn't tell you what it was. That withdrawal, however, is burned into his mind. The sheer agony as her body demanded blood was unbearable, there was almost nothing she wouldn't have done to escape it.

The second thing Bard remembers is the dealer. A charcoal messiah cloaked in tattoo bearing the fruit of life ground up into a fine white powder. Perhaps he had mistaken Bard's withdrawal for that of one of his clients. It didn't matter, Bard gratefully accepted the miracle. She breathed it in and breathed her last, her mind now fated to be eternally trapped by that snow white line.

Though he would love to be free again, the fear of the withdrawal keeps Bard returning to his powdery captor. He takes on dangerous jobs as a demon hunter in an effort to feed his expensive habit, or perhaps he simply craves the freedom of death, not even Bard himself knows the answer for sure.

  21. Princess

"Don't thank me, it was his idea." Princess directed Grima's gaze to the photo of her husband, "Would you like another glass of tea? I can only do that so often, so it will be a little while before I can send you on your way."

    Tai

Tejfidh raised an eyebrow when Tai mentioned Cardinals death, though her expressions didn't seem to quite line up with what he'd expect, so he wasn't sure why.

"So long as you're certain." she said with a shrug, her existence beginning to fade entirely from Tai's perception, "From this point on I will sustain and guide you. I'd rather you ignore my presence, but I did agree to answer more questions under less urgent circumstances, so I won't be upset if you call on me."

Tejfidh vanished completely, and Tai suddenly found himself back in the snow. He was standing outside a building not unlike the one he had just been inside, but significantly more crumbled. He couldn't quite explain it, but the world seemed smaller, he felt certain that if he walked a little ways, he could find his way back into town.

    Hiroki

The name Arcturus managed to force the gods' attention from the altercation with Blink onto Hiroki. Whether or not that was a good thing was unclear. Lord and Seeker dismounted the table and returned to their seats. They seemed to have taken a more professional appearance for Hiroki, but their unwillingness to look each other in the eye belied the lingering tension.

"It seems we have an empty seat," Lord gestured to the chair that Hiroki assumed to have sat Blink, "If he left you with anything else, we need to hear it. Even if not, you probably deserve to be in here anyways."

"What are you-" Gryffin started to ask.

"She can sit with the other failure, as far as I'm concerned, she's not one of us until she gets her Plane back." Lord replied, apparently trying to spark a fresh debate.

Gryffin rolled his eyes and sat back in his chair, miffed but unwilling to respond.

"You can't just unilaterally declare her seat void, let alone give it to someone who isn't even a god." Queen protested, "I don't like her either, but it's not your descision alone to make."

"I'm inclined to agree, especially when Wine is still too ill to break the tie on disincluding Sain." Bear chimed in, though he continued his response in a surprising direction, "But Amelia won't be back, and she has backed Hiroki in the past. I think it would be fair to consider the Hellfire Knight as Blink's representative, and I think Amelia would be okay with that."

Seeker nodded, "I'm not happy with your choice to offer the seat without any discussion, but Bear is right, Blink would be fine with Hiroki sitting in for her."

"That's fair enough, I suppose. I'll accept it as well. Gryffin?" Queen agreed, though he still seemed unconvinced.

"I was going to say, 'what are you talking about?'" Gryffin said with all the passive aggressive might a teenage boy could muster, "I don't know what this Arcturus thing is. But yeah, I'm fine with the Hellfire Knight borrowing Blink's spot."

"Right, then it's decided." Lord pointedly chose not to apologize for her actions, "Hellfire Knight, you may temporarily assume Blink's seat at the table. Please tell us if Arcturus left you any other memories, and then I'll explain exactly what he is for the uninformed."

  22. Sharp

Sharp still wasn't happy, but Platinum's response was enough to remind him that they ha a goal here, he needn't let his personal feelings get in the way. That is, until Lexi spoke again.

"So, are you not Sharon?" Lexi asked innocently enough.

But Sharp was already seeing red. "Say that name again and I'll have your tongue." she threatened, deadly serious.

An high ptiched yelp escaped Lexi. "S-sorry, sorry. I'm really bad at names, I didn't know. Can, can you tell me your name?"

"Sharp Aker." Sharp said flatly, still burning with irrational rage. He continued to glare at Lexi, who merely squirmed, until a ringing sound cut through the tension. Both Sharp and Lexi turned to Platinum to see if she would answer her phone, which graciously deigned to distract them from one another.

    Lilith

"Hello." Lilith's greeting was barely more than a whisper. She recognized them both from camp, though she didn't really know who they were. She would have preferred to be alone with Arturia. She trusted Arturia.

Miss Katherine? Lilith didn't know why, but she didn't like that idea. But.. Maybe it was necessary. If she didn't go, Arturia might not be able to keep her, and then she'd just go back. She didn't want to go back.

"Alright." she agreed, "but, um, what about the-" Lilith cut herself off, glsncing nervously at the other two, "What about the milk?"

It wasn't all that important in the grand scheme of things, but Lilith had been looking forward to experimenting with the formula she'd remembered. On the off chance it worked, it would help Arturia protect her. And even if it didn't, they could at least have some fun making it together.

  23. Hiroki

Adam looked sufficiently admonished, and merely hung his head as Hiroki brushed past him to leave the room. She would have just enough time to regret her decision as she walked down the hall to the room the gods had occupied.

Upon opening the door, Hiroki would immediately be met but the clamor of several people trying to speak at once. It was impossible to make out what anyone was saying, but at the center of it all were Blink and Lord, who were so caught up in their argument they'd managed to climb up onto the table. The room was more of a family dinner between bitter relatives than a meeting between the rulers of the land.

A loud smack brought the shouting to an abrupt end. Blink's voice weakly cut through the silence, "Take that back." It was more of a plea than a demand.

Lord touched her cheek gingerly and looked genuinely shocked, even impressed, at the audacity of Blink's slap. She didn't seem to have a response for Blink, and she certainly didn't seem to be in a mood to take anything back.

"I said take it back!" Blink screamed, raising her fist to strike Lord again.

But rather than Lord, Blink's fist met with Seeker's stomach. Seeker seemed completely unfazed, and said very calmly, "Let it go, Amelia, before you cross another line."

Blink looked utterly shocked and betrayed, but only for a moment before anger took over again. She spat at Seeker's feet and shouted, "That's for every goddamn one of you!" Before sticking her middle finger up and storming out of the room, nearly barreling over Hiroki in the process.

There was silence, and the gods seemed to finally pick up on the fact rhat they had a visitor, but none of them seemed willing to acknowledge Hiroki. Instead, Bear broke the silence, "You didn't have to say that."

"Of course you would take her side." Lord sneered, "I only told her the truth."

"No, he's right." Seeker turned to face Lord, "I know you can't stand her, but you could at least try to be a little sensitive to her past. That man is the absolute last person Blink would work with. I suspect you're second on that list now."

"I don't care about her past." Lord said, her calmness clearly forced, "It only makes sense if the coup is fake. It happened too quickly, Blink wouldn't retreat without a fight unless she had an ulterior motive. And now we have twice as many Planes to worry about."

Seeker shook her head, "Her ulterior motive was probably to focus on defeating Aries, not holding a fight against him and the tenth completely on her own. And Aries taking Envy is good for us. Defeating Aries on his own turf would be virtually impossible, Wrath is practically impenetrable, but now he has to split his efforts so he can hold Envy as well. We don't have the time to lay siege to Wrath, but taking back Envy is absolutely feasible."

Lord seemed at a loss for words again, and silence descended on the room once more.

  24. Lilith

Lilith heard a voice reach into the darkness that surrounded her, stirring her awake. It was a comforting voice, one that made her feel safe in a way she hadn't felt since she was a small child.

"Mommy?" she asked groggily as her eyelids slowly opened.

But when Lilith finally laid eyes on the person standing over her, she remembered what had happened. Her eyes immediately shut again as tears started pouring out of them. She jumped upright and wrapped her arms around Arturia before the older girl had time to react. Though Arturia might have thought otherwise at first, there was no malice to the action.

"Thank you." Lilith said between sobs, "Thank you so much."

She continued bawling into Arturia's chest for quite a while before she finally released the hug. She kept crying even after she let go, but her tears were quickly fading.
