Early game Charmeleon can probably laugh at everything up to Corey.
Protean Froakie is a nuke.
Nasty Plot Infernape is also quite awesome.
Blaziken with Speed Boost and Bulk Up is one of the strongest things in game right now.
And if you can survive a totally mediocre mid-game, by Radomus/Luna Serperior becomes as good as any of the starter in mentioned earlier thanks to Contrary Leaf Storm.

You're going to struggle vs Samson with your current rotation. Literally every mon on your team is weak to fighting. I assume you're going to pull out a few others out of your box?
I'll request a Zubat/Golbat against him. Gets you 4x resistance to fighting and it has confuse ray to use Samson's pokemon's high attack stat against them.
Edit: If it's already too late for you to get a Zubat in the Wasteland, then use the Nidorino instead.

Well guys... this update is boring.There's no important trainer between Luna and Samson.And none of the ¿8? trainers in total made me wipe.So to help everyone remember what I have as my pokes, here are some screenshot.

Hey guys, it's my pleasure to say that the Beta 0.01 is out from today onwards.
A little information here:
- This beta goes as far as Julia, everything after is just normal Reborn.
- This is a test of the difficulty I'm thinking, if you like it or you want it to be easier/harder, I acept your feedback.
- I hadn't fully tested it yet, so some trainers may be too difficult or not a challenge at all.
So yeah, I'll say also look for the clowns and tell me everything (good AND bad) that you found. Also, I still acept people if you want to help me, don't be shy.
The idea is to fix the difficulty and get the general idea going so this mod can be finished not that long after EP16 is out.

Yes, the EV reducing berries are in game, to get it you need to have 7 stickers at least and go to the Pokémon Department Store in Obsidia Ward, they sell them in the 8th floor.

In most cases all the countries are going for the "Life starts at the point where the fetus is conceived".
Human thinking goes way deeper, and the choice of who is going to govern you for the next 4 years go as deep too. Will this president fight the other powers so all growth together? What are his/her economical measures? His/her views on the other countries? etc.
It doesn't stop on "Hey, he hate gays, insta vote him", also, in the case of this particular US elections, both candidates choice wa the "lesser evil", going hard on that particular point won't make you go anywhere.

Just found this thing in my run, and it's not in the known bug post, oh well, here's the best explanation I found of it.
If a pokémon die from switching in after KOing another pokémon, you will have a free turn where you attack nothing, in my case it was in Bennett battle before Luna, Boldore used Stealth Rock and Graveler broke the field. At the end of the battle Porygon2 KO'ed Venomoth and Vivillon came in, because of the field SR was an insta KO and my Porygon2 had a free turn where I attacked nowhere (or did it just it tried to kill Bennett?) before the battle ended and it declared me winner, but strange bug.

I'm only just joining in. Looks to be a fun run, but I doubt I'll ever hate myself enough to try one. Nevertheless I want to suggest a pokemon for the Luna fight.
Since Solosis becomes available a tad before you get to the gym/cave, why not go through the hassle of getting it so you can fully enjoy the bad type match-up against Luna?
You are allowed to evolve it into Duosion, of course.

Hi Evi, while I mostly ignore this part of the forum, this post got my attention, mostly because it was fundamented and well written, so yeah, here's my honest (that's yours to believe, I came to myself some years ago that lying about some stuff is not worth it, even more in a place like the internet where few people if no one knows you, and while sometimes you can't understand the person fully, by being honest at least you get your points across). Also, well, I like somewhat to get in other people life somehow, because my life is quite boring now, so if my post sounds rude or something, I'm sorry, honestly.
About being dissapointed by the society for the US elections, well, I'm not american (at least, not american in the english way, I'm from the continent America, but not from the US), so I don't fully know how bad will be Trump or Pence in the White House, but I will say this, we are WAY past the worst time of our humanitiy, back in the time you could have been killed or worse by just not having the same religion as the majority (good term, I'll use this often), today luckily for us (you, in this particular case) we as humans are way more open to individuality an less to, well, being common and the good of the family (or stuff like that).
In my case, while I'm a heterosexual male (and I'm just as human as the other 7 billion or so living in this piece of rock), it turned that 2 of my best friends, those who are with you since you're quite young, are gay, or well, told us they are gay in their mid teens, which was quite the scenario as we went to a Catholic School, so do quite understand the struggle of the LGBT communitiy not being, well, normal as some people would call it.
I'm getting out of focus, no, the majority didn't reject you, well, some people probably did (homophobia and not being normal will always have some individuals that rejects it, like some people rejects religion, some ethnic groups, you get the idea), but in this case as an outsider of the US political world most of trump speech and the reason he won was not his anti-LGBT communitiy slogan, but he was an outsider of the current US political scenario, he had the balls to tell everyone what he though and didn't care about repercusions and his rival was Hillary Clinton who was the continuation of Obama, but without his charisma. People probably choose Trump for about the same reasons they chose Reagan quite some years ago.
And about your second point, your life, as a person that at least conciously lost the fear of death (I understand that death is something nomal that will come sooner or later, and you can't just avoid it) I decided to live my live to the fullest possible so when my time comes, I have the least possible of things that I wanted to do but I couldn't, but I know I couldn't jut end my life, first because I have no interest in ending it and I want to know how far I can get, and second because when the time comes, something deeper, and instic of survival that we all have because we are animals will kick in and make me hold on my last second to prolong them, so if you could at least tried to end yourself, then I must admit you have at least more guts than me. In the end I won't say don't take your life, because that's your choice and yours alone, but I will say at least try to get to everyone that you care or cares about you and get your points straight, the pain is worse if they don't see it coming, so while you prepare your final decision make that the last image they have from you is a good one (and if you decide to stay and fight, well, they will have a better image of yourself, which is never bad).

Sunkern was never availeable if I'm not mistaken, but in Obsidia Park at day and morning if I'm not mistaken Sunflora is a rare pokémon, so catch that and just breed it for Sunkern.

In the meantime I edited my answer above because I forgot to mention the battle-style feature so you might want to re-read that. Please update your first post when you decide about battle-styles and items usage.
About this, to put it simply, I'll make this like Commander did in Hardcore, when you press "A" on "New Game" I'll use Ame sprite to let you choose on 2 modes:

you pussy. - Like a true boss: Let the AI have the upper hand, you don't even need the 4 Full Restore they have to beat them, you play on set always and don't use item in battle like... well, like this option is called.

In my opinion a good way to make a game significantly more difficult is to disallow usage of potions and similar items during battle. That's why I asked for no-items mod in Hardcore and want to play that when E16 is out.
Your mod will likely use one of two options:
- leaving potions enabled like normal and balance the difficulity accordingly - in this case I won't play it because my rule is not to use potions and this mod will most likely be impossible to beat without them
- disallow potions just like Hardcore no-items mod does and make it "easy" enough to be beatable with this restriction - if this is the case, count me in!
Also one more thing. The main thing that's making regular Reborn too easy even with the competetive teams (not sure about Hardcore as I did not play it yet) is AI stupidity. If this mod will just use OP mons to outweight AI's messups I'm not sure if I can enjoy playing it. I think improving the AI might be a good start. You might want to talk to Commannder about this. I think he made some changes to the AI for Hardcore although probably nothing significant.
I'll watch this thread to see what you choose. I'll decide later whether or not to play it based on your decisions.

I'll probably bug Commander later or sooner so he can teach me to do stuff like that, for now Kaizo in my mind would be buffing everything to the point where AI can destroy you through sheer power, at Julia you just can't stop a Lv20 Specs 252/252 Electrode that easily without most of your team being destroyed by TBolt or something. Also, I made minimun changes to the first post of some stuff I forgot to write earlier.

Welcome ladies, gentlemen and non-binary people, I have just one small question to ask you all: Did you ever though that Reborn or even Reborn Hardcore was a bit too... easy?
That's why I'm here, to test your might or... masochism in a new way. But first, let's talk about some stuff.
The term Kaizo was first used in the now famous hack called Kaizo Mario World, the hack deliberately breaks many normal rules of "accepted" level design, such as placing invisible blocks where the player is likely to jump. This cruelty and the resulting frustration, as well as the skill level required, is both the purpose of the hacks and the appeal of any Let's Play videos made of them. Let's Play videos of Kaizo Mario World have received millions of views online. Will Kaizo Reborn have this kind of level curve desing or not, that depend on you.And here's Ame aproval for this to exist (like, if you told me 'no', I could not even start this project).
Here is the link for the Beta 0.01 which is up to Julia, the full mod will be out once EP16 is out but for now this is to test where I believe the difficulty will be and let the general public post their ideas of what I need to change.
Now that the first part is out of the way, here's the rules I put on myself when I decided start this project:
- Even if not optimal, I will always respect the main pokémon of each important trainer, even if it's not an optimal pokémon (I could give Julia a better pokémon than Electrode, but my job now is to make Electrode good enough for Kaizo).
- NO EDIT TO THE PLOT IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM. This game is Reborn after all, and it should remain that to the core.
- NO EDIT TO THE POKÉMON LOCATION. It's no fun if I start to give out OP pokémon on each gym, so yeah, the wild and event pokémon will be the same as on the last update of Reborn.
- Maintain free goodies and map edits outside normal Reborn to a minimun. To make things easier to you I may or may not give stuff like Lucky Egg or a good grinding spot somewhere, but I will maintain that to a minimun if you decide to have them.
- ALL MOVEPOOLS MUST BE LEGAL. MSalamence don't learn Extreme Speed, and it won't be learning it in Kaizo.
- RESPECT THE LEVEL CAP MOSTLY. if Julia cap only goes to Lv20, she can't go that much higher than that, I may ignore this in the mid-late game, but in the early I'll totally respect this.
And here is the last part of this run, when I get your help and feedback so we, as a community, can make Kaizo Reborn a reality, and make it so everyone that wants to try it can get the best experience out of it possible, that's why I want to ask you some stuff through a poll. Here's everything in the poll explained in detail.
- HOW HARD DO YOU WANT KAIZO TO BE:
- Just harder than Hardcore: Commander's Hardcore is quite hard, going way over that level is probably a bit to much, don't abuse evolutions that early, and be kind with the EV's spread.
- Kaizo in a true sence: Make it as hard as possible while don't making it madness. Gym and important battles with good movepool pokémon and EV's, normal trainers... not so much.
- IMPOSIBBRU DEATH MODE: Ubers, full EV's, cheap sets, most if not everyone 6 pokémon and let my imagination run wild. Let the RNG be with you, or the softreset and ragequit will be.
- SHOULD I
ABUSE LEGENDARIES:
- Don't even try to use them: No legendaries, not even the bad ones, they're unique pokémon that only the MC can catch.
- Just the non-Mythical legendaries: If it's allowed in the Battle Tower clone, use them.
- Just the non-Uber legendaries: If Smogon allows them, use them.
- Yay free legendaries: Let them control time, space and everything. Fun for the people.
- HOW MUCH SHOULD I
ABUSE LEGENDARIES:
- Didn't we just vote to don't use them?: Self explanatory.
- Only in important battles, and don't repeat them: There only exist one of them technically.
- Only in important battles, but you can repeat them if you want: Because we have like 7 Arceus in our PokéBank.
- More fun for the people: Joey with his top-percentage Rattata, and Arceus, and Geomancy Xerneas.
- FREE GOODIES:
- Cero: Make it as true to normal Reborn as you could.
- Few: Lucky Egg, Exp. Share, a small thing here or there if you want but no more, make it like Hardcore on this point.
- As much as you want: If I have to fight competitive teams on each trainer I see, give me all the weapons you can give me.
Okay, that's pretty much everything for now. Also, I'm open for people to help me in the making of this, so if you want to give me ideas in sets, trainers and everything you can PM me and I will be in contact with you. Let's make this as painful as possible to everyone, oh, and thanks for reading!

If you wantto make him salty, vote for StaraviaAnd I'm way ahead of you on that El fight. Already planned that baby out and is ready for E16 of Reg Hardcore even. And trust me, that one is cake compared to when you really fight him. Anyways, I can sense the GG salt among you. Don't worry, you wouldn't be the first person who struggled badly against Radomus. In fact, people suggest fight A-Radomus (aka Singles Radomus) just due to Doubles being one of the top 5 hardest (Shelly was number 1 at one point, but fell due to perma-rain being optional now). Good to have you back. And you're probably thankful you have a lot of options now.
Wait, the gym leader helper guy told me that singles was harder? Should I go back and fight Radomus in doubles?
Also, a lot of options come before Sanson, as Agate give me access to some of the broken NFE pokémon (Rhydon, Magmar, Electabuzz and Machoke comes to mind, I may forgot some also) but for now my strategies don't go over "set up Sticky Web/Stealth Rock and hope for the best", yeah, the NFE started falling behind the stat curve EV trained and all.

Okay guys, if you're new to this run, welcome! Now you can cast your votes for Luna, the pokémon that gets more votes I'm forced to use against her, even if it's Metapod (or worse)! -
- 1-Lack of fan favorites in the beggining.
I'm not talking about the starters, I'm talking about pokemon like pikachu, shinx, riolu, ralts, growlithe, shroomish, slakoth, the bird type etc...
I'm talking about pokemon you would want to keep in your team, throughout your whole playthough, available to catch before the first gym... Notice all the pokemons i mentioned are fan favorites and are something people eagerly catch and train throught their respective games, its something more then your starter you look out to evolve and you grow to like.... In pokemon reborn, the closest to this, is Noibat.. To make matters worse, the level cap encourages you to catch more pokemon, however if you don't like the options, you'll overlevel you starter and that wont be fun at all... This in my opinion needs a serious look at, at least 2 of my friends got tired of the game because no pokemon they really liked, was available up until 3 hours into the game and playing with a not obediant starter while being forced to train pokemons you dont like can be tiresome and drive people away.
The idea of some of those pokémon to be late in the game is that they are OP, what is the fun of the game if you can easily get Lucario before the Julia and easily sweep everything? Also, Pikachu, Shinx, Slakoth, and pretty much all Flying/Normal pokémon bar Taillow and Starly and catcheable before the second gym leader.
Yes, I know people love some pokémon (Heck, Tyranitar and Scizor are in my top 5 favorite pokémon), but having them too early would make everyone use it and not testing all the other options Reborn gave us (FYI, in some old Reborn version more OP pokémon were catcheable even before the first gym, like Togepi, Elekid and Shroomish up to EP9, Magikarp and Ralts up to EP11 or Magby up to EP10, but their events were axed or replaced so we had to test least used pokémon like Pansear or Espurr).
- 2-City was too gloomy
I get that the art, the atmosphere isnt supposed to be friendly and go happy but that doesnt mean it should be like that during the first 1/3 of the game. The game does get visually pleasing, but for that you have to play for too long to actually get to enjoy it. For instance, the forest didn't need to be a dark place, buildings with plants growing on them dont need to look so dark, not everything needs to look like its spreading misery to make us feel bad for the people living there.

- 3-Ditto into Arceus...
I'm just gonna be blatantly honest here... That is the stupidest idea you've had... A ditto got the power to transform into a freaking god and get to use his moves and stats.... I really like the plot twist, that it was a ditto pretending to be gardevoir, but come on, seriously having it transform into a freaking Arceus?!
Not only that, but that fight takes an incredible amount of preparation and the nearest healing station is way too far... You couldve easily made some healing ruin nearby or something...
Also, a really shitty thing about it, is that the lvl75 single boss is starting to feel overused by thisa point... This woulve been much better if you just made us battle El or even better, made Ditto transform between our pokemon in a mirror match... NOW THAT WOULVE BEEN INTERESTING...
We think (no way to be sure) that Arceus live behind that door, so Ditto used the energy of Arceus near him to transform into it.
Yes, the formula of "fight a single Lv75 pokémon" was a bit overused during the first couple of episodes, not going to lie about that.

Just look at it... It looks horrible and its hard to understand until after you played the game... This one should be completely changed.
The map of Reborn is way bigger than your normal pokémon game map (that's because Ame), and the game use the graphics of the 3rd generation, so yeah, it looks ugly, but it probably won't be fixed (or who knows, maybe Ame finds a way to fix it).
- 5-Lack of Dragon types
I really don't understand why there aren't many dragon types available, im completely OK with no legendaies since i dont play them anyways.... If you think they would become to overused, just make them appear later or in areas where it would be hard to train them... Heck, having them as possible starters wouldve been better then them completely not existing. One great idea a friend fo mine had, was to pull a Corey... No, not having another trainer relasng them, just having them available whenever you feel its ok for people to catch dragon types, once if you have a certain item.
Like in point 1, there are a few dragons and most of them are OP for the early game (thanks to Dragon Rage, for example).
As of now, you can get Noibat before the Julia, Axew before the Corey if you got lucky with the Mystery Egg, and well you can get some good quatity of them after Aya's battle, but yeah, this was the best way to balance the game and don't make it "too easy", otherwise everyone would be happily killing Noel and everything that came after him with their Garchomp, Dragonite, Salamence and stuff.

Just to help ya out here, I'll say Murkrow, as Prankster Perish Song should make Arceus pretty easy (unless something has been changed in Hardcore I don't know about). Murkrow might be useful for Radomus, too, since it has Taunt for whatever has Trick Room on his team.
Well, my Murkrow doesn't have Perish Song, as I decided that Brave Bird was a more uselful overall Egg Move back then, but I take the vote of "Murkrow for Radomus".

Dragalge is slow and Bulky, you will get the best of him a Modest nature, 252 EV's in SpA and HP (6 in Speed if you want), and for the movepool Dragon Pulse, Sludge Wave, Hydro Pump and Toxic is a good bet (Toxic stall is sometimes better than pure damage).
Also, quite surprising that you didn't go for a Paraflinch Togekiss.

VS Doctor Sigmund Connal:Lost in my 1st try (How long did it take for me to write this again?) because MAmpharos is too strong.2nd try, a few boost of Moxie and Krokorok killed everything.
VS Meteor Dame Avril and Meteor Knight Steven:This battle was hard as f*ck as I lost twice, but after that I went to the box, took out Golbat and cleaned the floor with them.
VS Giant Steelix:I actually forgot that Dusclops had Destiny Bond and used Will-O-Wisp against it. Anyway burn damage + Roselia killed it.
VS PULSE Abra:DAMN THIS THING. It EASILY 0HKO 4 of my pokemon before I decided to be cheap and just Destiny Bond it with Dusclops.
VS Noel:A very hard fought 1st try, that shamefully ended in Clefable beating Scraggy.Also failed in my 2nd try (Wait, is Noel actually HARD?).Third time was the charm as Graveler pretty much made fun of Noel (Swapped him for Magneton). If you want to know Lairon beated the Clefable, but I'm quite happy as this is the first hard battle in a while.

I'm going to be honest, I'm really surprised you actually won that Solaris fight. He's one of the fights I struggled with (that and Shelly for some reason). Seriously, I'm surprised how you're now able to breeze past a couple fights compared to the beginning where it was so many attempts. But yeah, think of hardcore's difficulty similar to Fire Emblem Fate's hard difficulty. I've considered making an actual difficulty fitting for hardcore, but that's on the backburner until I get more free time. Imagine Corey getting his Mega Beedrill back kind of difficulty and Shelly leading with LO Armaldo in permarain. I mean if enough people are interested I'll considering working on it, but for now, I'll stick to this difficulty. (I'd also probably have to raise the cap to around 120 or something).
As for Serra, she'll be cake if you're careful with Magneton. Noel shouldn't be too bad, but Radomus and Luna could be very dangerous. If you plan your moves and teams right, I'm sure you'll make it to the end. I'll be watching the run and seeing where you'll end.

To be honest, my current success from Corey to this point is thanks to 4 things:
- Better pokémon: Things like Graveler, Ponyta, Murkrow, Piloswine and Magneton have BST that aren't so bad, and 100 base attack is good enough to score key KOes (Before Corey I had stuff with 60/70 base attack that failed to KO pretty much everything).
- Better movepool: More level use to bring better moves with higher base power.
- Sturdy: Insta resist any move and strike back? I love that.
- EV's boosting items: Totally OP, in both normal Reborn and hardcore, like, before Corey my Roselia had 5 SpA EV's, now add 252 in everyone and break everything (I'm sure my 252 attack Graveler hit stronger than a normal grinded Golem with around 100 attack EV's when they cap).
So Pignite won this time, and with him having Thick Fat it's one of the first pokémon I really like!
Also, the update took a while because catching and grinding 7 new pokémon is boring.

VS Sirius:Easy battle, mostly because it's 2v1 but I don't care.
VS Casanova Acheron:Lost against him once because 3 of my 6 pokemon were KOed beforehand.
VS Meteor Grunt Devin and Sanchez:I don't even... Team member swap and I won easily, but to loose even once against these guys.
VS Bennett:Stealth Rock, break the field and Ponyta sweep.
VS Serra:After Boldore honorable sacrifice for the Stealth Rock, Pignite killed MAbomasnow, Mamoswine and Glaceon (Guys, Pignite may have HP but it defenses are ugly, it's slow and it's not actually that strong, but Flamethrower + Flame Charge is OP and Pignite is a boss, he won here the prize of becoming a rotation member). Finally OPMagneton killed the rest. In my normal Reborn RNG challenge it took me a while to beat Serra and here 3 of my pokemon didn't even appear, heck I didn't even need to break the field. Is this gym too easy? Also, please give her back her Jynx, fighting types have it easy here thanks to Froslass being always her last pokémon.Team:Overview
