    If you caught a Drampa back on Valor Mountain you can theoretically skip the story and head straight back to Gearen. Drampa learns Fly by level up, meaning that you can fly over to Yui's farm. Or you can just take the train to the train station, and then board the bottom train directly. That, too, seems to work to get back to West Gearen for some reason. 

    Edit: Nevermind. No way of getting back there. 

  2. I personally don't like farming Basculin at Tanzan cove for experience (mostly because I keep getting Mantyke and Luvdisc whenever I try. I don't need more heart scales, dammit!)

    Which higher level EXP area you want depends mostly on what you're EV training for. If you're looking for Attack, I suggest going to the fish tank in Lower Peridot Ward and using a good rod to fish out high leveled Goldeen and Seaking (less commonly Finneon for Speed). These will be in the 36-52 level range. Just be careful if whatever you're training is of lower level than this; Goldeen and Seaking pack Horn Drill (the former at 41+, the latter at 47+). Also, they both pack powerful Waterfall, so be careful if you're training Excadrill or something else that's weak to water moves.

    On the other hand, if you're looking for defense and/or speed, I recommend the Tanzan Depths. In that area, the wild Pokemon generally come in the 40-47 level range, if I remember correctly. Geodude, Graveler, Onix, Sandshrew, Sandslash, and the rare Durant all give you Defense, whereas Diglett, Dugtrio, Zubat, and Golbat all give speed. This area also requires a bit of caution, depending on what you're training; Geodude, Graveler, and Onix all have a chance to pack Sturdy, and the former two also pack Explosion/Selfdestruct. Keep this in mind when you're training, especially if you're weak to rock or ground moves (my poor Cryogonal ;_; ).

    I don't believe there are any particularly high leveled areas for Special Attack and Special Defense (Tanzan Cove grass being the highest level for both, with Oddish/Gloom for SpA and Ledyba/Ledian for SpD).

  3. So what about when you mega-evolve a pokemon and then open the party window to say, check stats or moves or use an item?

    Whether the party sprite will change because of that has yet to be seen. If the sprite does change in X/Y, then party sprites will be necessary. If not, then I suppose they would be optional instead.

    I don't know this for sure, but do Pokemon such as Castform and Cherrim that can change forms in-battle have differing party sprites? If so, then I believe that Mega-Evolutions would treat party sprites in the same manner. Or at least it can be a shortcut that we can use in the case that Mega-Evolution coding proves too difficult (having mega-evolution be treated as a form-change by the game).

  4. I suppose the game code would have to be edited to include all of the new Pokemon in it. That means new Pokedex numbers, new catch rates in different areas... it'll be a lot of work. I suggest waiting until all of that gets done. Which will most likely be a long time.

  5. Keep in mind that Mega-evolutions do not need party sprites, as they can only evolve in-battle (unless the mechanic is going to be different in Pokemon Reborn).

    Also, the guys at Pokemon Showdown are making a bunch of Gen 6 sprites for use in their simulator. In case we can't/don't make all of the sprites, we can use some of the sprites that they make.

  6. But there are some people (myself included) that preffer to take it slow and give their pokes better chances to win over leader's pokes by grinding them. Additinally, the first level cap in PR isn't stated anywhere in the game (if I remember it correctly), so it came to as quite a shock, when my Grovyle finally one-shoted Flobot's Carnivine with Fury Cutter when he suddenly de-stacked it with Quick Attack xD Damn you, Flobot!

    Actually, you first hear about the level cap from the girl with the Snubbul just after you get your first Pokemon. The first level cap is 20, and I believe that the first gym leader says that it goes up to 25 the next time.

  7. Put the Power (Anklet/Bracer/etc.) on the next floor of the department store, that'd be great, and as much as I doubt it, I'd love the Reaper Cloth to be available like the Department store claims to have.

    I don't believe the evolution items are available at the store yet. Either that or I didn't find all of the available stickers -_- I'm currently on the 6th floor as my maximum.

    That being said, from the looks of things (based on the guide at the Department Store), the 7th floor will have evolution stones, and the 8th floor will have evolution items (including Reaper Cloth, Magmarizer, and Dubious Disc, I hope).

  8. Noel was a fairly easy battle for me because Ame, in her infinite kindness and wisdom, decided that it would be fair for his Cincinno to carry the King's Rock. I led off with my Steadfast Calm-minding Lucario (it would have been easier had I bothered to level up Riolu to learn Nasty Plot). One flinch and two calm minds later and I swept with Aura Sphere. Clefable was a 2HKO because of Unaware, but other than that I was able to one-shot everything.

    My hardest was easily Serra. I didn't have any good resistances to her ice moves aside from Thick Fat Hariyama... I only had Camerupt as a fire type, which took neutral damage.

  9. Unless it was specifically changed in Episode 9, you don't actually have to read the Captain's Log before entering the Rail Cave. I took two trips into the cave, both of them before reading the log, and one before even reaching the train itself. If I'm not mistaken, the Rail Cave contains two objectives: Eevee, and Trick Room.

  10. Only thing I really wish is Thief's TM...

    I suppose Ame wanted to make it more difficult to take enemy held items (especially Leftovers). If you want Thief specifically, you can either go with a high-leveled Mightyena, or you can use a Heart Scale for Kecleon. Covet, which does basically the same thing, is much more common, however.

  11. I object highly to that statement. It's on my main team, and I have to say that Foul Play packs quite the punch in and of itself. Besides, its Attack is only somewhat worse than its Special Attack (90 vs 110). The inability to learn Dark Pulse by breeding does not make it a worthless Pokemon.
