Yeah, this. The TCG is such a straightforward game, I don't see a point in a strategy, really. -
Just pump in some Bills and Professor Oaks and it'll make any deck way faster. Though speed isn't so much an issue in Pokemon TCG, like Yu-Gi-Oh... but I always have like 2 Oaks and 3 Bills. Also, I don't remember, but does it do linked battles? If so, we should totally find an emulator with net play...

Yeah, like Bear said, pretty much, I don't think you even have to fight the less important people, you just fight the leader when you have enough cards.
And I'm currently doing nothing in Pokemon. Maybe I'll start my monotype challenge later. -

IVs are much easier to breed now with HG/SS. With the 'Power' hold items. They [have a chance to] pass on the IVs for the stat they influence. Incredibly helpful. One on each parent is sooo worth it. -

You can tell what Porygon is supposed to be though, a polygon. And Mewtwo has an explanation behind its man-made-looking-ness. I doubt the new pokemon will have such a reason, and if they do, then that will sadden me because they'll be reusing ideas... -
I try all different kinds of decks, mostly anything non-standard for an archetype. My latest creation is a Crystal Beasts deck, with [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Hamon,_Lord_of_Striking_Thunder"]this guy[/url] which is pretty fun. But basically my decks can be summed up as swarm/beatdown decks.

This. SOOOOO annoying. Pokemon Pinball R/S, and even Pokemon Pinball on the GB, were great games. Man, one time I had a fully upgraded ball, and RIGHT before the Rayquaza bonus in PPRS, I lose my ball. TTT.TTT

None of the other spin-offs really interested me besides these two. -
I've seen the first three only. I can't decide my favorite between Pokemon the First Movie or Pokemon 2000, I loved both. Both stories were really good.

If Smogon can make better Pokemon, the Pokemon devs should be able to. Granted, Smogon's Fakemon are geared towards the competitive battler, it still shows what actual dedication can do. Their Fakemon don't have that man-made appearance and definitely remind me of Gen 3, which is awesome. The Pokemon team could definitely get some tips from them.
