Hey everyone! I'm back yet again - although this time, I'm not in charge of the ever-so-dramatic Jack Frost + Snow Queen affair.
I'll be running the Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament! So here's how it's gonna go down. It's a 1-vs-1 double elimination tournament where you play in a first-to-2 (or best of 3) set against your opponent. Grand Finals, however, will be first-to-3 (best of 5) instead, though, so the title is gonna take some work to nab!These are the rules you'll want to set for your matches:
- 3 Stock, 7 Minutes
- Spirits, Items, FS meter are all set to OFF
- Stage hazards are preferably off, but can be used if desired
Stage Striking is also used here. It's a bit confusing, so I've modified the rule a bit for more clarity.
- Before the first game of a set, the stage is chosen from one of the five starters. To do this, each player chooses two stages that they do not want to play on (stage bans), and the stage chosen for the first game is what's left. In the event that, for some reason, these stage bans overlap, the player with the lower seed will choose from what's left. Check the Challonge bracket for your seed number; the bigger your number, the lower your seed (outside of the top two or so, it's going to be mostly random seeding anyway).
- After the first game has been played, the three counterpicks are now available to be chosen in addition to the starter five. Whoever won the last game chooses two stages to ban, and the last game's loser gets to pick from one of the remaining six. This repeats for each game in a given set after the first.
The legal stages are as follows: (hazards off)
- Starter: Battlefield, Final Destination, Smashville, Pokemon Stadium 2, Yoshi's Story
- Counterpick: Town & City, Yoshi's Island (Brawl), Unova Pokemon League
- You may go to any stage not listed here as long as both players agree on it.
Your tournament matches may be recorded for posting to YouTube at a later date if desired. If you'd like that, make sure you let me know so I can accommodate time to host the lobby.

Thanks to all the nominations for Rebornies and Royalty!
Some clarification regarding the voting periods for the party, as there has been some confusion.
**We are voting on Reborn Royalty first, separately from Rebornies, and we are doing so earlier than usual.**
Reborn Royalty voting will take place at 1:00 PM ET. Pick and choose your royal triage for the party! Nominations will be accepted right up until the time when voting begins.The OP has all the nominations, so if you don't see someone there whom you'd like to nominate, please do so!
If you or one of your fellow nominees are not going to be at the party come voting but are still nominated, you may retain your eligibility by messaging me on Discord, Showdown, or this forum. (Rebornies don't require your presence for you to win.)
The Reborn awards, Rebornies, will have their voting take place at 6 PM ET.

Remember to not nominate someone that's already been nominated.
Once someone has been nominated, they're in and eligible to be voted on. That is a different process that occurs come the Party.

- Members may find themselves nominated for more than one category, but they can not win in more than one. If a given community member places highest in voting for more than one category, then they will be awarded in the category in which they received the higher percentage of total votes.
- Moderators and Administrators who have held their administrative position since September 1st, 2016 are ineligible to be nominated for or win awards. Thus, Njab is still eligible for nomination.

Any forum user, including staff, may be nominated for Jack Frost, Snow Queen, and Polar Monarch. While anyone can be nominated for any position of royalty, it is encouraged that any nominations for a given forum-goer are kept to the position representative of their gender.
- For example, while you could nominate Amethyst for Jack Frost if you really wanted, I would rather you nominate Ame for Snow Queen. This is to even out competition and make sure we don't have the whole forum vying for Snow Queen like we have a few times. In the event that such a member is nominated for more than one position, they will appear on the ballot representative of their gender as it is set on the forum, unless they are not set to "Not Telling" or if they do not have a Forum Account. (This means that people who regular the Showdown or Discord servers may still be nominated.)
- A forum member may not nominate themselves.
- Nominations will be collected via a separate forum thread, and voting will begin at a to-be-determined time. In order to win Reborn Royalty, you must be online on Showdown or Discord. (All festivities are on Showdown, bee tee dubs.)
- Voting will be counted by myself and our handy dandy Gossip Gardevoir (assuming she can make it, we hope so since we love her) after voting has finished. Announcements for Reborn Royalty will be made as soon as votes are finished).
- Fanfic writing is optional.
I will not be running the Smash tournament this year. Godot has agreed to take the reins this time. -

We used to, but I don't believe we do anymore. With the new Discord server now being a thing we just don't see the logic behind putting money into TeamSpeak when Discord is not only so much more accessible, but free AND it's more reliable than both TS and Skype.

A couple o' quick notes. First off, about Reborn Royalty.
There is an amendment to the time of the festivities. Pending approval from my fellow party organizers, Voting will now take place between 6:30 and 6:50 PM EST. That's two hours ahead of the previously announced time. Reason being, this change is aimed at increasing the magnitude and prestige of the award, in contrast to last year where everyone had partied their faces off by the time the three wonderful monarchs were crowned. Not to mention, this is way more convenient for our European friends.
Remember that, as with every year, winners will only be chosen from those who are on the Showdown server when the final votes are tallied, or have been on the server since the festivities started! Can't have our dear royals being AWOL, can we? I'm also looking into prizes for Reborn Royalty, but I will say nothing before then.
Lastly, I am not eligible to be nominated for any category of the Reborn Royalty.
In addition, in regards to the Rebornies. These will still take place at their regularly scheduled time of 8:30 PM EST. As for auth eligibility, here's the major change. Auth eligibility now takes into account the auth roster as of September 1st. This means that LidaRose, Arkhidon, and DerpySimon are now eligible, while Hunter and Tacos are not. The reason for this change is so that recognition can still be given to those who gave what they did to the community to earn their position as a role model among the rest of us. In addition, given the magnitude of the awards, your presence at the event is no longer required to win the award.

EDIT: There seems to be talk of an award for Server Auth and "Best Auth" etc. Rose and I have talked it over, and we have decided not to incorporate an award for server auth. The awards in their entirety will be for Members, Familiars, Veterans, Aces, Voiced Aces, and Staff who have been appointed after the 1st of September.
Along with that, Leaders and Administrators (Amethyst, Ikaru, Blind Guardian, Godot, and Jericho) will not be eligible to vote on Rebornies. They will be able to nominate for Rebornies as well as nominate / vote on Royalty (and of course, be royalty as well)!
EDIT 2: False alarm on the OP; you actually can win both Reborn Royalty and a Rebornie.
To recap:
- Reborn Royalty voting moved ahead two hours.
- Auth who have been auth since or before September 1st can not be nominated for Rebornies; and top 5 auth can no longer vote for them, either. Shanco can also not be nominated for Reborn Royalty.
- No award for server or forum auth.
- Everyone is eligible for Reborn Royalty, including new members.

We don't have a good idea of who it might be, sadly. Personally, I doubt it's anyone who has attacked the server in the past.Why would someone try to attack Reborn? Do we have any idea who did this
so we can find them and end them...?Why they do it? Who the hell knows. Could be a multitude of reasons, but in the end it wouldn't really make a difference what their motives were. An attack's still an attack, y'know.

Been a hot minute.
