Moved to a reward for completing "A Tale of two Hearts", a post Valor mountain quest started in Kristilline Town.

Yes, although I'm not certain of what those differences are.

While I can't speak for Glalie or Musharna, I can comment on the other 3!
I can comment on Musharna, at least from the perspective of it versus other dark types
Musharna is a fairly decent pokemon if you get it early from Eizen. Tough claws Play Roughs and Throat chops deal pretty good damage, and it will generally live 1 or 2 hits from neutral STAB attacks, often 2-hitting anything that doesnt resist it. Its access to Lovely Kiss as well makes it a fairly good user of Zoom and Wide lens, and it can hold up well into endgame as a Trick Room setter and user. it is especially good against the Puppet Master gym fight ironically, as it can help sweep if you are able to bait them into setting up trick room, or by manually setting it yourself if you happened to grab the tm.
However, if you get it at the intended point, being after the School of Nightmares, it is a thoroughly unimpressive Pokemon with little to contribute at that point. It has a poor matchup into the single remaining gym leader, and pokemon like Krookodlie or Bisharp are better than it in most other situations where an offensive dark type is required, and umbreon and mandibuzz are better when a bulky dark type is needed. if a support dark type is needed, Grimmsnarl clearly outshines it there.
Overall its a niche pokemon that is better for the midgame than the lategame. still a cool design though.

Isn't Protean Greninja kinda cheating considering it fully changes type during battles? I wouldn't include it in mono dark run myself.
Under my self imposed rules, any mon that starts the battle as a dark type is fine, but stuff that is only dark type under specific conditions (Example: Stunfisk with Mimicry or Crested Gothitelle) are banned. Still see where your coming from though. Besides, you can always just go with Torrent instead. Or Battle Bond if you have that mod that's floating around.

speaking as someone who just got to chapter 15 of a mono-dark run, I feel compelled to give some advice
1: Many early game boss battles can be easilly cheesed with Toxic Stunky + the Shadow Cacnea. Fake out + Obstruct into sacrificing another pokemon racks up toxic damage quickly, and let me beat the Rift Gyarados on my first try. Later on, Overqwill can be used over Skuntank to outspeed pokemon that can 1 shot Skuntank.
2: Unlike what some people say, Spiritomb can easily help before getting its crest. I personally used it as a mainstay member, just because fighting type coverage is so common. The fact it was moved earlier also helps a ton (Post Surf instead of Post Terajuma)
3: GDC has a ton of Fighting and Fairy type trainers. Go back and heal after every fight.
4: You don't need a Pokemon from the mystery egg to beat the game.
5: Go to Rivers End ASAP. The Aevian Musharna you get from answering Eizens questions correctly has saved me so many times. Fairy/Dark is a fantastic type, and the moveset is really simple and easy to acquire. Lovely kiss, Play rough, Throat Chop and then 1 situational move is what I ran and I haven't had to change it up yet.
6: the first 3 gyms are gonna be absolute hell. Venam has a really strong team compared to yours at that point in the game, Keta fights doubles and absolutely dominated me most attempts, and Marianette hits dark types super effectively, and no dark type gets access to a move that can change the field at that point in the game.
7: Type diversity. Already not great to start with, for quite a large chunk of the game you're going to be stuck with pure dark, dark/water and dark/poison types.
8: unless you get pawniard from the egg, you dont have a flying resist before fighting Souta, bar Morpeko. or anything with stab supereffective moves, again barring Morpeko. have fun with that.
9: Strong early game Pokemon include Pangoro, Houndoom (Incinerate in goldenwood, dont miss it), Skuntank, Alolan Raticate and Shiftry. Midgame, I found Crawdaunt, Alolan Muk, Overqwill, Drapion, Aevian Musharna and Spiritomb to be quite strong. Late game Krookodile, Grimmsnarl, Weavile and especially Mandibuzz have all been quite useful. Mega Sharpedo and Moxie Honchkrow can sweep whole teams, and I expect Zoroark, Bisharp, Hydreigon and Greninja to be very good going forward into endgame.
10: Specific pokemon are really good against certain gym fights. Notable ones for me at least include Pancham against Keta, Honchkrow against Souta, Sharpedo against Amber, Musharna against Crawli and Puppetmaster, Crested Skuntank against Ryland, and Raticate against Adam (Although im fairly certain Guts Facade Obstagoon would be better)
11: Greninja is probably the best starter. Protean is super good, and having something that fast that can drop speed with Rock Tomb was absolutely crucial against a few bosses.
overall you're gonna have the most problems in the super early game, then it mellows out until Crawli, then its mostly smooth sailing from there. hope these insights help!
oh, and you can do every fight itemless.

it means she wants to learn phantom force for coverage against ghost types and is being all tsundere about her poor type matchup. just leave TM148 on her bed/at her door/in her next meal and everything should go back to normal in a few days. Source: https://www.youtube.com/

yes, as I painfully found out while putting in attempts against suicune.

Theres a fix for this in the discord (yeah, great idea guys. whats the point of an updater and the forums when we can drop files into a discord link instead)
so ima just drop it here for ya
replace the script in the scripts folder with this script and you should be good to go
or just join the discord and download it from there, its under the More tab at the top

You'll find out later in the game, and the reveal is a pretty major plot beat.
the answer if you really want it is:
Spoilerdude, you sure?
SpoilerReally REALLY sure?
SpoilerLast chance to back out...
SpoilerHis name is Kieran. Dunno what telling him his name does but thats his name.

The idea is very simple: post dumb sets that use the Zoroark crest to copy Pokemon abilities that probably shouldn't be on a decently fast and decently strong pokemon. Have an example:
The Zoroark set:
Zoroark
252 Spa, 252 Spe
Ability: Illusion
Item: Zoroark crest
-Nasty plot
-Agility
-Night daze/Dark pulse
-Flamethrower
And the Pokemon being copied:
Numel
252 Hp, 252 Def
Ability: Simple
Item: Eviolite/Focus sash
- Stealth Rock
- Will-o-Wisp
- Yawn
- Lava plume idk
The idea is (pun intended) simple: get Zoroark in, set up a nasty plot and agility, and win. Numel gives us Simple + STAB on flamethrower, and can set rocks or something idk. Point is, now you get the idea. Make Zoroark busted with ability copying.
Here's some more ideas I came up with, helpfully labeled:
Special Morpeko, but good
SpoilerZoroark
252 Spa, 252 Spe
Ability: Illusion
Item: Zoroark crest
-Nasty plot
-U-turn/Flamethrower
-Night daze/Dark pulse
-Hyper Voice
Golem-A
252 Hp, 252 atk
Ability: Galvanize
Item: Magnet/Assault Vest/Leftovers
-Explosion
-Double Edge/Return
-Rock Slide/Stone Miss
-Earthquake/Fire punch/Bulldoze
Galvanize Hyper Voice. Nuff said. its basically Sylveon but electric.
If Greninja is so good why isn't there a Greninja 2?
SpoilerZoroark
252 Spa, 252 Spe
Ability: Illusion
Item: Zoroark crest
-Night Daze
-Focus Blast
-Grass knot/Sludge Bomb/U-Turn/Flamethrower/Psychic/Slash&Burn
-see above slot
Greninja
252 Spa, 252 Spe
Ability: Protean
Item: Life Orb/Expert Belt
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam (if we ever get it)/Icy Wind(speed control is really good for boss fights)
-Gunk Shot/Grass knot/Spikes/Water Shuriken/Extrasensory/whatever you want really.
-You can also go full physical to take on special walls Zoroark can't.
AAAAAAAAAAAdaptability
SpoilerOk so there's actually 2 sets here. One is for if you have Mega Lucario through the Terajuma password (or in general), and the other is for Dragalge. Use whichever you want/can.
Dragalge Sets:
Zoroark
252 Spa, 252 Spe (wow so original)
Ability: Illusion
Item: Zoroark crest
-Night Daze/Dark Pulse
-Sludge Bomb
-Focus Miss
-Extrasensory/ Hidden Power Dragon
Dragalge
252 Hp, 252 Spa
Ability: Adaptability
Item: Black Sludge
-Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor (once we can get it)
-Sludge Wave
-Thunderbolt
-Hydro Pump/Surf
Lucario Sets:
Zoroark
252 Atk, 252 Spe
Ability: Illusion
Item: Zoroark Crest
-Sucker punch
-
Brick BreakLow Kick/Sweep (SV movesets when?)- Throat Chop
- Dig/Bounce (bros got no physical coverage)
Lucario
252 Atk, 252 Spe
Ability: Justified (adaptability on mega)
Item: Lucarionite
-Close Combat
-Meteor Mash
-Bullet Punch
-Swords Dance (When we get it)/ Hone Claws
Justified is to take advantage of predicted dark type moves to potentially get a free +1 before mega
Obligatory Wonder Guard Set
Spoilerlol you thought wonder guard worked with this crest??????? no. it just doesnt.
Defensive Support Zoroark? why?
SpoilerZoroark
252 Hp, 252 Def/Spd or 128 Def, 128 Spd
Ability: Illusion
Item: Zoroark crest
-Taunt
-U-Turn
-Scary Face/Low sweep
-Knock Off
Tangrowth/Amoonguss
252 Hp, 252 Def/252 Spd
Ability: Regenerator
Item: Leftovers
-Toxic (both)
-Tickle/Clear Smog
-Leech Seed/Synthesis
-Protect (Ideally)/Substitute
we love stall in this thread
Budget Mega-Gengar
SpoilerZoroark
252 Spa, 252 Spe
Ability: Illusion
Item: Zoroark crest
-Nasty plot
-Agility
-Night daze/Dark pulse
-Rest
Wynaut
252 Hp, 128 Def, 128 Spd
Item: Focus Sash
Ability: Shadow Tag
- Encore
- Destiny Bond
- Safeguard
-Splash
Decrease opponents stats with memento or any other way, switch in Zoroark, get up to +6 in both Spa and Spe, win. Wynaut over Wobbuffet because Wynaut got banned to Ubers in two separate generations and therefore must be a cracked pokemon.
Interested to see what other people can come up with, there's a lot of potential here for funky sets.

Could you explain the spice scent?I'm confused when I found it in Cybernav.
It modifies encounter rates, by I'm assuming a percentage. so 100% = base encounter rate, 9100% = 9 times base encounter rate, etc. the only really important numbers are 9100, 100 and 0 because 9100 is a guaranteed encounter every step(useful for grinding), 100 is base rates (for a base game experience) and 0 is no encounters at all.

SpoilerI feel obligated to mention that this is at least the second time you've alluded to rocks as being sexually attractive. The first of course being this gem of an image from way back when:
What subject would you even teach? Intro to bullshit 101? Battling skills for morons?
By choice, right? RIGHT??
Fun fact! the average number of baby teeth is 20, and most adults have 32. The implications this joke creates are numerous and horrible.
1: I'm not completely boring, only mostly.
2: Monopoliwag. I rest my case.
Do- do those boots have heels?????
why of course, since you so kindly asked for it! *Ahem*: Whoops! Guess I gotta leave the region for good now!
of course, accompanied by an image such as:
Considering I had to look up what a UMD disc actually is... probably low. This also proves that the entirety of Zolts personality and extra programs are at max, 1.8 Gigabytes. Knowing this, the machine on the SS Paradise makes much more sense. It's probably just a glorified midrange tower PC from Bestow Buy.
minor word error, whole runs invalid.
What a godamn legend.
Be honest... at this point can you really expect anything else?
if a cowboy shows up at any point in this game im quitting the internet forever.
Alas, we can only wish it was Adrian...
Very clever of you from many years ago to not bring Macross to this battle, thereby subverting my expectations... and yes. I have a special place in my heart for all rock types. first monotype run I ever completed was a rock type one. Golem-A happened to be a mainstay member to counter slow, bulky water types with Galvanize Double-Edge and Explosion. Good times...

So while hunting for a Brave Bird Murkrow through a Mr Luck contract (would not recommend, but I kinda need one for my mono dark run to get past Flora.), I happened to stumble across one with a funky move I've never heard of: Quicksilver Spear.
I have no idea what this is. I've never seen it before, and its not on bulbapedia. Its not even a good move, especially for something like murkrow/honchkrow. 75% accuracy base 80 power steel type move. 100% speed drop chance, and supposedly deals constant damage on... something. The text gets cut off before I can read the whole effect.
It doesn't cause any errors as far as I can tell, and even has a move animation, even tho its just sacred sword. I'm willing to bet the part that getting cut off is related to a specific field. As for which field that is, I have no idea. My guess would be Colosseum, Dragons Den, Fairy Tale or Deep Earth. If anyone knows where this is from, I'd love to know.
btw why is it impossible to get balls at all during chapter 10????? im down to 4 net balls and a glitter ball and i still dont have brave bird murkrow.

you can try posting your save file here, as a last attempt
if you do gotta start over, probably best to wait until the update comes out in around 4 days.
-
hmm, works fine for me if i rename it to simply Game. dunno what the problem is mate, hope someone else can figure it out. try downloading the save attached and see if it was just a naming issue?Game.rxdata
nice team btw. If I had to make one recommendation, you can patch up the IVs at the Pokemon hospital in the district of hope. if you use fly in GDC, its the bottom option on the far left. enter the building directly above you, then talk to the nurse on the far right. Costs 10,000, which based on your money count is like pennies. feel free not to tho
-
Usually some screenshots or the file itself would help here. Otherwise I can only guess at the cause. you might have accidentally renamed the file and changed its file type, or called it something other than Game or Game_X, with X being the save file number, both of which would make the file not work. I'm leaning more towards the file type being wrong because of the Firefox icon. Again, the file itself or a screenshot of the save file would help.

best of luck mate, and glad to have ya back!
-
someones gotta make a backsprite for all the npc only mons so we can use them in battle, like imagine beating up Madame X with a crested version of this guy or the Gyarados. I'd do it myself but I have no talent for that sort of thing
-
Finally managed to get through the whole series so far
Cant believe you beat Souta first try with no deaths, that fight had me stumped for a while. Really thought that could have been the end of the nuzlocke but he just got wrecked. Guess those buffs he got at some point really make a difference, huh?
Also I fully expect Macross to die to the Rift Aelita fight. He's been getting too much screen time, plus the mention of switching to galvanized from sturdy, which would be great foreshadowing for a situation where not having sturdy gets you killed by something stupid, like attempting to switch in on a rock slide and getting smacked by Earthquake.
also teach trick room to Zaius you fool- 1

Its been a while since I played through this part of the game, but in my opinion Alolan Sandslash could be good. An ice stone is available from the "For the Rangers!" Sidequest, Aurora veil is enabled by the field, don't remember if Light Clay is available at this point but if it is, 8 turns of dual screens could help a ton. Its got good physical bulk, resists crunch and play rough, and if you want to go for it, might be able to sweep with slush rush. Swords dance, Iron head, Aurora Veil, and Icicle spear would probably be the set I'd run without access to the move relearner. The TM for Aurora veil is in the shack on top of Silver rise, Swords dance and Iron head are level up moves, and Icicle Spear should be an evolution move. if your letting yourself use healing items in battle, Sandslash can 1v1 the Mighyena easily, if not some prior chip damage would be ideal. You could also go for a risky icicle spear at +3, or sac a mon to make sure Sandslash gets in cleanly with no intimidate drops. Here's some calculations (Friend guard is being used to simulate the field boost to defense):
Your Damage:
With Intimidate drops on Sandslash:
+3 Lvl 60 252 Atk Sandslash-Alola Icicle Spear (4 hits) vs. Lvl 58 85 HP / 85 Def Mightyena with an ally's Friend Guard: 184-220 (102.7 - 122.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Without:
+4 Lvl 60 252 Atk Sandslash-Alola Iron Head vs. Lvl 58 85 HP / 85 Def Mightyena with an ally's Friend Guard: 176-208 (98.3 - 116.2%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
Mightyena's Damage:
With Aurora veil up:
Lvl 58 85 Atk Mightyena Shadow Claw vs. Lvl 60 252 HP / 0+ Def Sandslash-Alola with an ally's Aurora Veil: 31-37 (15 - 17.9%) -- possible 6HKO
Without:
Lvl 58 85 Atk Mightyena Shadow Claw vs. Lvl 60 252 HP / 0+ Def Sandslash-Alola: 63-75 (30.5 - 36.4%) -- 54.6% chance to 3HKO
These were all calculated assuming the Sandslash has 15 IVS across the board and was fully EV trained in HP and ATK, and the Mighyena has 31 IVs and 85 EVs across the board. with higher attack and defenses, or if the Wiki is actually right and the Mightyena has 15s across the board, the fight only becomes safer. Of course, if shadow claw crits things get much worse, but still its not bad all things considered.
Of course, theres always the cheese strategies. Metal Burst, Scrappy Predamaged Endeavor Swellow + weather, a bulky Destiny Bond user (I recommend Weezing), a lot of things can be used to take down a single pokemon with no priority and 4 attacking moves.
Don't know if any of this helps you, but this fight really isn't that bad. Good luck mate!
Is the game completed?

no, but this is a great time to try the game out again. a big update dropped about a month back, and the game feels brand new. Im pretty sure your old save file wont be compatible with the current version unfortunately. (side note, I would love to check out whatever old version of the game you have.)
