Change Player Model with Debug Mode

Hey all, I recently downloaded a save file to have access to Anna's route, and just wanted to change the other person's character to match mine. I tried using the in-game Debug settings Set Player Character> It was set to 4, but when I tried to change it to any other number besides 2, the game crashed. 

 

I am trying to just change the character to one of the other in-game protagonists choices already, are there some missing files for this or something? Thanks in advance.

If changing the value causes a crash, the save file may depend on character specific data from the original playthrough. I'd check whether the downloaded save was created with a different game version or mod setup, since simply changing the character ID may not be enough.
