MonoGrass Run Starter Advice! (Also considering allowing myself one other type)

Hey all! The topic says it all! I've been playing this game ever since early in Shofu's LP and am starting my first monotype run with grass. I haven't done a full run since like episode 18 early so forgive me if I think mid-game is earlier than it is now. I'm looking for advice on starter's and have compiled my thinking below; I'm open to feedback from anybody but IN PARTICULAR from experienced monotype runners about what starter will provide the best overall experience:

Key: This is a current front-runner, this is a Pokémon I'm neutral on, this Pokémon is basically out of contention but feel free to argue for it

  • Bulbasaur - Amazing Chlorophyll Pokémon even without Weather Ball. It's only available after Titania and has access to the powder moves. But on the negatives: Jumpluff already serves as a better utility status user and I already get early Budew for the fast Grass/Poison special attacker.

  • Chikorita - I love the design but this Pokémon in vanilla form isn't good besides screen utility.

  • Treecko - Fast potential mid game acrobatics user. Great Nature Power user. Is rather frail and it's level up moveset uses its weaker attack stat. I'm also using it in my normal E19 playthrough. Potential unburden shenanigans. Takes a long time to get mega running.

  • Turtwig - One of my most familiar starters (one of my first ever ran and all the way through in episode 17). Early Earthquake and Ground typing with rock coverage are great but its gonna make Shelly hard. It also is obtainable again in Agate Circus.

  • Snivy - Good fast utility Pokémon but it only has one real claim to fame: Leaf Storm contrary gimmick and that isn't really my thing.

  • Chespin - Super underrated for early game.  Rollout and Pin Missile plus access to Needle Arm for Florinia. Bulletproof has nice situational utility. Later on can be a Spikes user. Potential Belly Drum + Salac Berry sweeper set is super fun and I love it. I also personally prefer Chespin as my Gen 6 starter. It is available again somewhat early though, after Samson.

  • Rowlett - Gets middle stage flying type and Pluck which is strong, Grass/Ghost is a rare type and Decidueye had good bulk. Unremarkable HA utility and is Gen 7 mon so obnoxiously slow. Is a solid all around Pokémon but without any particular stand-out value, but does involve using Fern's ace and that kind of bugs me.

I'm also considering adding a second type to this run, just like I heard the Elite Four do. Besides the obvious steel for defensive synergy, Water for Rain teams, and Fire for Sun teams (both of which are runs I want to do in the future), what second type do you all recommend?
