Tanzan Mountain Meteor Base - Can't Unlock Gates for Puzzle 1 (Color Changing Floor)

I have reached the Tanzan Mountain Meteor base with Saphira. On the first puzzle, the color changing floor, I can get from the left door after the spinning floor to coming out from the right door. When I do, however, the 2 gates blocking the stairs are still up. I have watched videos where you are supposed to shut off the machines at the edge of the colorful floors while moving through it. Every time I reach the edge by those machines, I am not able to turn them off, there is no dialogue/option for me when I click on them. I am not sure if I missed something progress-wise in the game that needs to be done first or what? But I can't figure out how to turn the machines off that (I think) shut the gates down. Help please!

Hi, If you're still unable to turn off the machines, make sure you're standing on the color-changing floor while interacting with them. Also, make sure you've thoroughly explored the area and interacted with all objects and characters, as sometimes puzzles can't be solved until you've completed certain tasks or talked to specific characters.
