Plot: Death City is home to the famous Shibusen, a technical academy headed by the Shinigami–Lord Death himself. Its mission: to raise "Death Scythes" for the Shinigami to wield against the many evils of their fantastical world. These Death Scythes, however, are not made from physical weapons; rather, they are born from human hybrids who have the ability to transform their bodies into Demon Weapons, and only after they have consumed the souls of 99 evil beings and one witch's soul.

Soul Eater Evans, a Demon Scythe who only seems to care about what's cool, aims to become a Death Scythe with the help of his straight-laced wielder, or meister, Maka Albarn. The contrasting duo work and study alongside the hot headed Black☆Star and his caring weapon Tsubaki, as well as the Shinigami's own son, Death the Kid, an obsessive-compulsive dual wielder of twin pistols Patty and Liz.

Soul Eater follows these students of Shibusen as they take on missions to collect souls and protect the city from the world's threats while working together under the snickering sun to become sounder in mind, body, and soul.

My thoughts: This is one of my favorite anime. I definitely recommend this anime to anyone who loves supernatural stuff. It has 51 episodes total, two seasons I believe.

Feel free to discuss the anime in spoilers so we don't get spoiled ;)

That's all! Tune in to my next anime recommendation! Until next time...

I watched a few years ago, and sadly it didn't leave too much of an impression on me. It had its moments with great fight scenes like the Maka vs Crona , Maka & Stein Vs Medusa and the Asura Vs Death scene. But otherwise it kinda felt bland with too much filler and padding, and not enough substance. Sure the latter half of the series was good, but the beginning just seemed too episodic without enough interesting episodes.

I still gave it a solid 6, and would recommend anyone to watch it if they're interested genre. But otherwise I think there are other and better action series out there.

I'm not good at judging shows so Imma leave the verdict to you guys.

But if I were to rate it, it would be a 7.8/10 or something around that number.

Don't mind my ratings. They're purely made from a comparative standpoint, and thus useless when looked at by their own. I looked at my ratings list and saw that I had rated things like Guren Lagann, Code Geass and Neon Genesis and Evangelion a 7, which I all liked better than Soul Eater, and I gave Digimon S1, Shaman King and Yu-Gi-Oh! a 5, which I found Soul Eater to be better than. Therefore I gave it a 6. This is how I give scores to shows.

I'm very much in favor of using the whole 10 point scale, and having every point be represented as it being better than what came before it, rather than a number based on arbitrary values.
