@negativeEgg There's nothing wrong with the file you provided. If you want me to solve anything, try to save right before the choice (the elevator is a good spot). But I don't see anything wrong, all the properties that says "game over you did the melanie thing" are off. Maybe try to not hand over the crystal again?

Thanks for looking, I'm really unsure of what the problem could be. When I load up the save, and this happens with every save now, it starts me mid cutscene right after the choice is made, so there isn't a time for me to move or save. All I can do is move through the dialogue until the inevitable game over. I also deleted the game and all its related files, the redownloaded them, and the problem is still the same.

I'm having the same Blacksteeple castle problem when handing the time crystal over. No matter which save file I load into the game it still gives me the game over screen, including in the save file I attached which was made before I chose.
