  1. Hi

I have currently a laptop and PC. both are windows only.

In laptop it says "your version is outdated"

in PC it says "your connection has problem or server is down at the moment"

I have same version only in both the devices...

Any approximate idea when the servers will be back online?

i mean. if it has to be 4x weaknesses or nothing then thats a bit stupid. but if its just type weakness in general it's much more doable.

Julia gets bodied by goldeen, from pulling an ice-mono run i can tell you beating charlotte and tania is pretty simple in concept (not so much excecution) however fighting Samson with no jynx, tania with no lapras and charlotte with no walrein might be a bit tougher.

    So it's probably possible

we don't really have a 4x weakness of a full six team without duplicating for every gym, Like you don't get a water/flying team of six in 1st gym itself. same way you don't have a 4x weakness   (rock/ground) team of six for grass gym either. plus doing a 4x weakness challenge will harshly restrict the number of pokemon one can use as a very minimal pokemon only having 4x weakness. comparing to the total massive 800+ (including all the seven gens),
Type weakness in general only makes this challenge more fun imo . not a full 4x weaknesses challenge.
Plus as i said before i am not sure if anybody have actually pulled this challenge out before. Execution may be tougher than concept.

p,s, goldeen can't really pull off all six of julia's pokemon. they  have sonicboom which solidly deals 20 HP every turn and her oricorio has air cutter.
As per my one of the rules laid as there is no healing in battles. Then it's a tough run

Good luck if you gonna try this challenge.

Hmm. Honestly doesn't sound too hard. Still a good amount of options available..

Honestly i too never seen anyone complete this kind of challenge even in youtube videos. Common ones are monotypes, nuzlockes, solo-run etc.
so just came up with this idea

Good luck if you are gonna try it 😊

I'LL try but what about greninjas protean?

    Good question ..

    2 solutions

    1) If it has protean ability make sure you don't have an attack that has type effectiveness against the gym you facing.. (for example don't have flying poison or ice type moves against the grass gym).  and other type attacks even though having STAB will do only Neutral damage against that grass gym you gonna face. Plan it in such a way for other gyms too.  Greninja wont be learning any fire type moves except for Hidden power fire . But Hidden power is Nerfed through the generations. so i didn't mention fire in that example brackets.
    2) Don't use protean.. Use torrent if you want to avoid complications as its not the only ability .

  5. Hi All
This is my first play through in this game. so basically am not trying this challenge 😝

However I have a challenge in mind for some of the seasoned campaigners in this game and others who expect some "challenge" if they already completed this game. . It's called the "Type weakness Challenge"

Basically we all progress in pokemon games by defeating gym leaders with a strong team having some type advantage right? that too in a game like reborn we assemble the best team for the upcoming gym we  gonna face by updating&shuffling the rosters regularly with the best possible Mons available at that time to face that gym leader .
Well in this challenge we are gonna basically Flip it and put you in a difficult spot in a difficult game .. Try this challenge only if you have pure skill + bit of luck ;)

    Rules:

    1) You should go in a with a full team of six with full type weakness to the gym leader you gonna face against. for example against the 1st gym leader Julia who uses electric types you should defeat her with a team full of water+flying types in your party. for the second gym you should defeat Florinia with full rock/ground and water types in your party.. it goes so on..
p.s : Against the normal type gym leader alone you should face him with a team that does NOT take advantage of the grassy terrain. This is exception only to the normal type gym leader as we don't have any types that are weak to Normal types. I initially thought of team full of ghost types to face him , but it won't work. so i changed the idea for this normal gym alone.
    2) Duplicate clause allowed for the initial few gyms where you cannot make up  your party members of full six. (i don't think so. personally as you can have a full team of six weak to electric type before 1st gym itself if you have a Bibarel which knows headbutt it will help in catching those flying types).
    3) Though you cannot have type advantage against the gym leader, you can have super-effective moves against them . However only one move on one pokemon per gym.  Example- A flying type pokemon with ground type move against the 1st gym leader (damaging move like mud-slap or non-damaging move like sand attack ) anything is fine, However only one of your pokemon can have it at that point when you face the gym leader. This rule is  basically the lifeline in this challenge.
    4) Dual type Pokemon are allowed. however Pokemon with neutralizing types not allowed. For example, you cannot face the grass gym leader with a Numel/Camerupt in your party. Though its ground type is weak to her grass type, it also has the fire type which neutralizes the damage . So a strict NO for situations like that.
one more example on point 4. you can't face 1st gym leader with noibat in your party. Though its flying type is weak to electric type attacks, its dragon type resists electric types. so it will neutralize the damage. so NOT allowed.
    5) You can face all other rivals and other trainers with any team of your choice in order to progress the story . This applies only for the Gym leaders you going to face against.

    6) Healing/ Healing items not allowed during gym battles. However other held items allowed. Just one more leverage in addition to point 3 😅😋

If you are fan of nuzlockes/ permadeath challenge then this challenge might also fascinate you

This challenge seems very difficult . However its not impossible. with right strategy i think one can overcome this.

Good luck and do share your experience ;)..

  8. Today is my 1st try in wonder trade.
i went on a random spree.

I sent my graveler on a wondertrade. (i wanted to get rid of it). 😂

Guess what, i got it back as a golem after some random WT's . 😅

As a souvenir i kept it

There are planned trade evolutions between 2 trainers . well the poke-gods had other ideas in mind when they sent me back my graveler which is a golem now.

I would suggest you to bring a grass type mon like lombre/roserade for your ground weaknesses and a noivern could be pretty good once you climb up in mid 50s in levels other than that don't train him just now and once you come to the fighting gym I definitely recommend you to evolve that woobat cause it just sweeps that whole gym after 2-3 calm minds +psychic and air slash, evolve that guy as soon as possible by giving him pokesnax or attack reducing berries so I would say for now keep that woobat in your party as a flying type coverage and evolve it then later on replace it by noivern

Yes bro definitely. will try bringing in my roselia (i dont have the shiny stone yet). will evolve it in future,
Also yes i have to train something like Noivern for the future use.

Having a balanced team of 6 pokemon to cover the whole game is doable, even if training specific pokemon for specific fights might be more efficient. You could always bench the least useful for a specific gym and replace it with a more adapted one. Also I would suggest you to have a "backup" plan for some extremly difficult fight incoming (like the PULSE fights). Having a Murkrow with Perish song + Prankster for example will allow you to cheese those parts of the game (I hope the one you got had perish song as egg move...). Sharpedo with Focus Sash + Destrinity Bond is another possibility.

On your current team members, the 3 of them are weak to ground. Consider adding a flying pokemon. Like Noivern, but hard to train Noibat to level 48 or Crobat (can replace Drapion) when you can get one. I would also suggest to use a Male Meowstic with Prankster. To be able to use light screen and/or reflect would be super useful for Blaziken who is a fantistic sweeper, but has difficulty to set up without protect.

Mamoswine is a really good physical attacker, learning Earthquake naturally and you can also give it Ice Shard for a priority move (always useful to have at least one in your team) and has types who complement your team. You can aslo consider Ludicolo. Under rain, it is a very powerful special sweeper with again typing that complement your team. Also it resist ground and murders it with water and grass STAB. Just make sure you don't evolve Lotad before level 30 (or 36), for Giga Drain (or Energy Ball). And then Lombre until you get Hydro Pump lelel 44 (replace by Surf/Scald late game).

And finally, I would consider training a more defensive pokemon. Someone like Toxapex can really help your team on some fights with Toxic / Recover / Haze / Scald by stalling forever the opponent, creepling physical attackers and haze is super useful to prevent opponent setting up. That's a mystery egg pokemon though so check how to get it and hope you'll get lucky (Mandibuzz can fill the same role, another mystery egg reward possible). Later in the game, Clefable wuld be a good wall/staller option as well.

With a roster of 9-10 fully trained pokemon you will be able to have an answer to everything the game throws at you.

Hope it will help, good luck.

Thank you. Unfortunately i evolved that lotad to a lombre long way back. And it's a male i cannot breed it too to get another Lotad. Have to wait for end-game to catch another Lombre. Will try my luck with the Roselia/Roserade i have.  Male meowstic has prankster ability.
Defensive pokemon option yes have to look for it. That mystery egg hatched into a starly. :(
    Thanks a lot :)

  11. Hi All
Currently i am with 4 badges (defeated shade recently).
I just need some suggestion on building my team further based on future gym leaders to be faced. Am not sure on how to go further in team building. i just don't want to rush through the story and finish it for the sake of it with an imbalanced team. it will affect severely in later stages of game as i have read the walk-through on the future gym leaders i gonna face

Is it ok only to build team around only my main six pokemon full roster team covering wide varieties or is it always better to do some grinding and have back-ups?
I currently follow the second method. Though i am taking time to grind am planning to build a variety team with all round reserves. I also have the habit of catching as many pokemon as i can and box them mostly and train them if required. i am not a speed runner. so doesn't matter if i go very slow.
My big question is which six pokemon / (types) should i mainly concentrate on?. Being in my main team and which can be in reserves. Honestly i don't mind grinding the required time . battling in battle hall multiple times don't matter to me

    Current Team:
    Blaziken
    Drapion

    Ampharos

The strategy i followed till now is Blaziken and ampharos are my mainstays and others i kept on rotating based on the gym i gonna face next. Drapion is currently there .

I will showcase my boxes. "Trainees" box is the one i am planning to grind in future. "Battlesquad" box is the one which are already trained upto some extent and will be rotated based on circumstances. other boxes are just bunch of pokemons i caught and lying as it is untrained.   Please suggest on which pokemons to invest time in grinding

P.S. - Am NOT into trading. so no requests please.

    Thanks in advance.

  12. finally i have beaten shelly..
what started as a intense battle turned into a dogfight at the end. 😅😂

Only Unfezant was left from my side and volbeat was left from her side.
unfortunately i didn't have revives or any cotton candies at that moment
My unfezant's moveset : Quick attack, Air slash, Taunt and Roost
her volbeat's moveset: dazzling gleam, struggle bug, tail glow and moonlight
She had already used her volbeat's dazzling gleam to knock out some of my previous pokemons. hence she started spamming struggle bug on my unfezant so that air slash became virtually useless as it hardly did damage.
Then i went into troll mode. am a fan of pokemon showdown , love to set up trolling teams and irritate opponents. so i started SPAMMING and STALLING her and make her run out of PP. 😈. I repeatedly used roost & some of my potions to recover my health just to make her run out of her attacking PP's.

Though she had moonlight and tailglow. Her moonlight was a nuisance though
Then i used the ultimate weapon.. the move "taunt" . This "taunt" move is severely underrated in competitive battling IMO.  Her struggle bugs & dazzling gleam  were over.  She set up a few tail glows before i used "taunt". she had no other option but just to struggle and take recoil damage
Luckily i still had PP left in quick attack and air slash
A few quick attacks & her "struggle" came to end.
    Taunting unfezant FTW. 🤓

  14. I am having difficulty facing shelly.

This is my 1st playthrough and am finding it difficult to get past her .. Her prankster illumise is a nightmare.

    My current team is

    Blaziken (speed boost)
    Unfezant
    Galvantula
    Pangoro
Mightyena (considering to changing its ability to moxie. let me know if i can find a wild poochyena with rattled as hidden ability will evolve to a moxie mightyena ?)
    empty slot..

Am planning to bring in numel  to burn that forest field or some rock type which i found in the grand stairs underground.

Someone Please suggest me a good 6th team member. or to swap anyone in existing party?..

Note: I almost caught all pokemon obtainable till this point in the playthrough including the event ones from eggs. All of them are lying in the box untrained.

I actually usually play reborn as a modified Prof. Oak's Challenge, only keeping mons within the level cap. Nothing gets over leveled to evolve everything is the highest evolution the cap would allow. It's a pretty fun way to play the game, and allows you to have a wide variety of options to use at any point in the game - which is *great* for Reborn. Still takes a lot of time and patience to do, but it's not as maddening as a normal Oak's Challenge.

A way to make this a bit more time consuming as a normal Oak's Challenge without having to deal with breaking the level cap - catch every possible Pokémon before each badge and train them all to the level cap, even after they evolve. You are only permitted to get the next badge when every mon you have is at the cap.

Good idea buddy, i would try that if i find normal oak challenge too hard at some point of this journey.

  16. Hello All.

Am a newbie here. This is my 1st post.

So far am enjoying this reborn game

Coming to the topic, I am just curious to know if anybody here ever tried out the Prof. Oak challenge in Pokemon reborn?

if anybody wondering what is Prof.Oak Challenge it is very simple . catch&evolve every pokemon obtainable at that point before you face a gym. (basically acts like a checkpoint) Basically get it registered in your pokedex. I have seen some YouTube videos of it for the mainstream games done by some youtubers. It takes a lot of grinding time&patience. Definitely not for competitive battlers& speed runners.

Potential obstacle for this challenge With this game having level caps for pokemon before we face gym leaders. if we level up more the pokemon disobeys us in battle. Hence switch training is one option, for example: its easy to have your starter's middle evolution before the first gym. however for reaching its final evolution  lots of patience and luck is required till you obtain a badge. one way i followed tackling the gym leaders is leveling up them to a max level cap allowed.  having six pokemon of level 20 for facing 1st gym leader and boxing all the rest Pokemon which were fully evolved & over leveled at that time.  Training the over-leveled Pokemon was a nightmare, had repeated battles in the battle hall trainers .

In my own experience, its very tough.. just 2 official badges (though i already beaten the beryl gym leader), but 30+ in game hours already.
    seen: 252
    owned: 86

still i got way more to cover& tons of Pokemon waiting  to evolve. Will keep you all updated on my progress on this difficult challenge.

Anybody else trying out a similar kind of challenge in this game can please share their experience.
