Doesn't it affect anything at all? huh, seemed like it would have a major impact in the future..

I'm at the point where I have the opportunity to release Eve and Lumi in the glass workstation, I really want to do it but I feel like it will severely alternate the outcome of the upcoming fight. Could you guys give me any reasoning to do it or why not to do it? And try to explain why to do it without spoiling, but if there is major spoilers include a spoiler tag so I can decide for myself whether or not I release them or not.
