[When is the earliest you can get beldum?]

I unlocked the grand gate to route 1, so I want to get beldum, am I able to do it already or do I have to wait until a specific gym?

Been playing for a bit, still deciding on the team I'm going for throughout the game. I'm quite sure I'll keep some other mons on the side, but these are the main team.
