  1.   I am doing a new run type I call Mono "No Event" which means I cannot use any starters, pokemon gained through events, trades, or anything other than pokemon that I catch in the wild through normal unscripted means.  I Just defeated the first gym leader doing this run and wanted to share my team so far and update it as i progress through the gyms.  Just for fun.

For the first gym leader my team was Meowth, Purrlion. Raticate, Grimer, Mightyena, and Bibarel.

I will update when i get to the next gym.

I am on in the morning for a couple hours in around 10est I can trade u an egg for something u Don care about will likely just release whatever u give me as almost of of storage space

Awesome, I can trade with you whenever you are available.  Thanks so much.

  3. My old reborn file got deleted on accident so I have started a new run doing a flying monotype run and I was really hoping to get Togepi from the mystery egg that can have it, but I did not get so lucky.  Now that I am at a point in the game where I have the chance to get it I don't feel so cheaty asking if anyone has a togepi under level 35 (my current cap) that they would be willing to trade.  I just started so I don't have much to trade, and I have been avoiding catching anything that isn't flying type to save money, but I did get a shiny Skitty from an event and I have my shiny Beautifly that I can trade.  Unfortunately those are the only shiny pokemon I have found so far and the rest would mostly be common pokemon that I have to offer.  If anyone has a Togepi for me, let me know, thanks!

Have you tried consulting the item guide yet? You can find it here:

Yea, I don't see any Moonstones listed that I can access yet other than the one I already used on my skitty.  And I didn't get any from mining, so am I just screwed?

  5. Hey everyone, I'm trying to get a moonstone to evolve my Munna, but I am not having any luck.  I already used the one I found early on to evolve my Skitty, and i've mined all the mineable rocks I can find without getting one.  Any help would be appreciated!

  6. After demolishing Corey on the first try, I was feeling a surge of confidence in Reborn.  All of that was quickly slapped away when Shelly decided to put me in my place.  The double battle in a gym really caught me off guard, and it seems like every move she uses hits both of my Pokémon that are out every time.  I’m also a little confused on my level cap at this point of the game, can I get my Pokémon to 35 for Shelly, or do I have to keep them at 30?  I’ve been keeping them at 30 since I don’t relish the idea of using common candy and wasting exp.

The line up I am currently using against her is a Growlith, Ponyta, Graveler, Klink, Persian and Castform, all of which are 30ish.

  7. I only heard about Reborn a few days ago.  I am on my third day playing, and my entire idea of Pokemon has been forever changed.  I'm 27 years old, and as much as I would like, the mainline pokemon games just do not do it for me anymore.  There is no challenge in Sword and Shield at all, even with self imposed difficulty increases.  For years I have dreamed of a Pokemon game that would push the series to its absolute limits. A pokemon game made for adults, where victory is far from a certainty.  Reborn is so much more than that.  It is better than anything I have ever dreamed of for a Pokemon game. The love and attention to detail that went into this game shows from the very start.  All the dialogue in the mainline games is subpar at best, but Pokemon Reborn's characters feel so real and full of personality.  Every time I turn a corner it seems like there is a new event to be discovered.  The battles themselves have helped me reach new heights as a trainer I never even thought possible.  Over coming obstacles that seem impossible at first makes me feel like I actually accomplished something.  I am not even far into the game at all yet, I only just beat the third gym, but this is already by far the most fun and memorable experiences I have had with a pokemon game by a long shot.   The music in the game is awesome as well, I look forward to hearing the new soundtrack every time I enter a new area.  Honestly, the team behind this game should be the ones making the mainline pokemon games, GameFreaks titles do not even come close to what they have put out in my honest opinion.  I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who put in the hard work to make a dream come true for pokemon fans around the world.  I do not know how I never heard of Reborn until recently, but I am glad I found it eventually.  Thanks again Reborn Team, you have truly blessed this world with your beautiful and amazing game!

  8. I never liked the idea of using starter Pokémon, I prefer to have a unique team of Pokémon I caught myself, so every game I immediately box my starter at the first opportunity.  For Reborn I went outside the Grand Hall and a Meowth was the first thing to pop up, so I caught it and it became my starter.  My poor penguin is still sitting in my PC at level 6.  Meowth has been real good to me, Payday is the most useful move in the game.  Non Starter starters FTW 😁

  9. So I just started Reborn yesterday and I am absolutely in love with the game.  It is 1000000x better than anything GameFreak has put out imo.  But I have a question about Shiny Pokémon.  In the mainline game series, i have put tons of hours into every game and I’ve only caught a handful of shiny Pokémon myself, most of the ones I have were traded to me.  In reborn though I only have 2 gym badges and I’ve already caught a shiny Buneary and a shiny  Sewaddle, and I wasn’t even shiny hunting or anything, just playing the game normally.  Did I just get super lucky in Reborn, or are the shiny rates different from the mainline series games?  Thanks!

  10. Update: I kicked her butt!

I ended up trying it without using Castform first cuz I wasn't sure if he would stop obeying me if I leveled him to 25 to learn weatherball and was still able to pull it off.  I used Gulpin, Koffing, Makuhita, Woobat, Pancham and Klink and was able to beat her the first try with that team.  Loving Reborn!  Anyone who hasn't played Reborn hasn't played Pokemon, they have only played the tutorial 😄 Thanks guys!

Numel is available after Julia when it's raining. The spreadsheet says "Before Badge" so you probably got confused there.

Sentret can be found in Obisidia Park - that's where you fought the Pulse Tangrowth.

Ah yeah that did confuse me!  What does the before badge part mean then?

I was able to evolve a furret and got my castform, and while I was leveling him up I caught my first shiny, a Buneary, so that was cool 😄

I have had zero luck getting this game to rain, so as much as I'd like a Numel it just doesn't seem to be in the cards, and I don't really want to use mods.

Here is hoping with my new castform I'll be able to shake things up.

    Hmm..
An ol' man ever said to me to "Take advantage of the field!" or "Manipulate the field!"
Don't walk in a path your opponent made for you, walk by your own.

Did you know that Desert Field (the field of Florinia's gym) may increase Ground-type's Sp.Def by 50%?
You can use it as your own advantage. Eee.. maybe bringing a Ground-type is bad for this gym, but you can use Numel. It's ground and fire type.

Or, you can manipulate the field. Currently, the easiest way to manipulate or change to field is by using Castform.
Use Rain Dance then Sunny Day (or the opposite, but that will make Castform being a water type) will change the field to Rainbow Field for temporary, as long as the weather isn't faded.
There's many effect of Rainbow Field.
But the most important now, in that moment, Castform can use its Fire-typed Weather Ball with 50% boost.
Isn't that cool? facing grasses using 50%-boosted 100-powered fire-typed Weather Ball.
Anyway, you can look for Castform by trading it on a girl in Obsidia who is looking for a Furret. And Furret can be obtained by evolving a Sentret that you can get in Obsidia Park.
Castform is very useful for many battle in the future, until 4th or even 7th gym battle.

Also, keep collect the Field Note. Field is an important thing in Reborn battle. You can achieve your win against almost anything if you can make strategy of the field.
Good Luck and enjoy your game!

From what I've been told Numel isnt available to catch until after you have the 2nd gym badge, the spreadsheet says that too.  Same is true for the Sentret/Furret required to trade for cast form.  Unless the spread sheet is wrong or I am missing something?  Otherwise I would have for sure went for both of those guys 🙂

You know the little part with the street rat you fight is? A panpour OR a pansear will show up by the boxes it has to be raining though

The garden becomes available after you beat Fern regrettably

I reset the time on my computer like 5 times but i couldnt get it to rain, but i ended up catching a woobat and leveling it up and it beat Fern for me.  But Ferns sister kicked my butt afterwords.  So now I'm trying to figure out how I am going to get past her.

You can change your clock to leap ahead 8h. The weather report from the TV should give you a rough estimate when to jump ahead to alternatively if you don't feel like trying to do that there is a mod that allows you to manipulate the weather and when your done you can just delete said mod

It the opal ward bridge but it's under it, you access it from the lower Peridot ward though. Sorry for mixing that up a bit

PS sorry keep losing internet so responses might take awhile

No problem i appreciate the help 🙂  when I am under the bridge do i just run across the train tracks for a pansear to appear? so far the only thing to pop up have been Noibat.  And if i do get it to rain, is there a specific part of the train tracks or just run up and down it anywhere?

Also I am guessing they will be super low level, any advice on getting them to 24ish with no trainers left, or do i have to grind hundreds of wild pokemon that are level 16 and below?

Only way to change weather besides waiting it out is to either change the time/date on your computer or to download a mod that lets you set whatever weather you want.

If you go east right above Julia's gym in Peridot you can go under the Opal Bridge.

One of the buildings in Onyx Ward has a roof garden where wild Spearow can be found. Fearow is a pretty strong Flying Type at this point that should be a big help with Fern and the Gym.

I've been running around Onyx ward looking for a place with a roof garden but I cant find it, do i have access to it before i beat the 2nd gym?

In the rain check by the train station

Also check under bridge in Peridot it can be panpur or sear

Is there a way to get it to rain or do i just have to wait?  Also where is the bridge in peridot?  im looking around but i only see the opal bridge

  16. Hope this is the right spot for this.  So I just started Pokemon Reborn today and I have been having a blast, but I have hit a wall.  I am in the school fighting Fern and I can not for the life of me get her Roselia to die.  She keeps spamming Mega Drain over and over, and when I finally get her low on health she uses a super potion.  I'm pretty sure I have defeated every trainer that I can currently battle, and the highest wild pokemon that I can find are only level 16, making grinding a new pokemon to 25ish seem like a nightmare to deal with one pesky pokemon.  I always box my starter at the start of every pokemon game because I just dont like using them, so my team right now is a lv 24 Meowth, 22 Makuhita, 23 Teddiursa, 23 Delcatty, 21 Klink, and a 23 Pancham.  I have been looking for a fire type to kill Roselia but I havnt had any luck, and since there are no trainers left to battle i dont relish leveling him up on wild level 16 pokemon either.  Any advice?
