Yo this is from v11 cause it just happened to me yesterday and I didn't see it fixed it the patch notes but, When facing Adam in the tournament (I don't know if the fields are actually random or not) I faced him on the Reverse field and every turn his areodactyl  attempted to mega evolve, failed, and a error window popped up with tech jargon that I didn't understand.

Much appreciated Litwick is my favorite evolution line and I'm stuck in the poison gym in the wastes, I was getting ready to bust out some tunes to get me hyped up and opened the poketech for the first time and realized online was a thing and the  world opened up to me, only been playing like a week but its one of the best pokemon games I've ever played.
