  1. One criticism I never understood that Reborn got was that the difficulty of the game requires that you breed, train, or reset to get mons with perfect or very good IVs and EVs along with Natures. Coming from someone who has played Reborn twice up to Episode 18, all you really need to do it be a bit more mindful of EVs and IVs than in the mainline games. As long as the desired mon has at least 10 IVs in its dominant stats than it will be fine. Playing the game naturally will also ensure that you will be fine on Evs, and having 252/252/4 is certainly not a requirement. The same thing applies to Natures, as long as you have one that does not completely screw you over like a Relaxed Greninja you will be fine. A lot of Reborn difficulties can be circumvented with strategy and smart play so flat out statics do not matter as much.

Most mons will be fine with having a linear stat distribution. A Greninja will be losing nothing by having 0 Defense IVs. The only issue is when you have Jack of all trade mons, or mons that have like 5 good stats. Such as the example below with Mudkip, which will evolve into Swampert which has good stats in everything but speed.

Keep in mind that Sludge Wave distribution is horrid: only a few pokémon can truly enjoy it (Nidoking, Salazzle, Tentacruel and Naganadel are the only ones that I can think of).

The same does not apply for Sludge Bomb and even mons that can learn Sludge Wave prefer to run Bomb instead to prevent hitting teammates in doubles or for its higher poison chance, such as Tentacruel, and Sludge Bomb can also be used as a coverage move for a good amount of pokemons that fear Fairy types (glares at Houndoom).

The Point of it being Single Target does help for Double Battles, but at the same time they are not enough double Battles in Reborn for me to say that it is all that helpful. Reborn does have more Double Battles than your average Pokemon game, but it is still predominantly single battle

The Example you gave is rather meh:Houndoom is already going to have 3 Move Slots Taken Up. The Only Fairy Sludge Bomb will help against would be Azu and Tapu Fini, one of which you are getting nuked by Huge Power Agua Jet. I would much rather prefer Willow as it is nice tool, and if I hate myself HP Grass or Electric. Poison is really not that good of a Offensive STAB.

Sludge Bomb is much more beneficial than Sludge Wave, because the higher chance to poison is much more favoured than the extra 5 BP increase, and it's accessible to more Pokemon that learn it. But can we talk about why Ice Beam and Blizzard are not available yet? 🤔

Maybe I am just a needles contrarian, but I much would rather take Guaranteed Power over a Chance of something occurring especially in Pokemon. Venasaur,Crobat,Gengar, and Roserade are really the only Pokemon that really benefit from it. Swampert,Goodra,Dragag,Nagandel, etc would much rather run Sludge Wave for more power. Sludge Wave also has the added pro in Reborn of changing several fields

  4. One thing I find very baffling about Reborn is that Sludge Bomb is not in the game yet.

.The Player as of Episode 18 has been allowed a multitude of more powerful and more useful tms like Flamethrower and Thunderbolt

.1/3 through Reborn,The Player gets Sludge Wave through Aya,which is more powerful than Sludge Bomb

.Most Pokemon prefer Sludge Wave due to the increase in power

.This hurts only a select few Pokemon which for some reason do not get Sludge Wave such as Roserade,Venu,Gengar, and Crobat

.The Best of these Pokemon is Gengar, but not only does the game give you far better pokemon, unless you are lucky Gastly is not available till very late into end game

.With Moves such as Swords Dance,Calm Mind,VoltTurn, and EarthBeam it is understandable why they are not in. With the Former,The Player can start running set up cheese and Hyper Offense VoltTurn Cheese, and with the Later they are very powerful and useful moves. Sludge Bomb only benefits a few Pokemon.

    but she did nothing wrong

Her Character in this game amounts to the very stereotypical

    "Friendship is Overrated!"

    "Everything is going to plain"

"Power is the only thing that matters"

Type Character, which has been done to death and done way better in other games. Shame that she stole the spot as the main antagonist as Solaris was looking to be quite the great one.

  6. I found Hardy to be way easier than the Past Two Gym Leaders tbh. His Field Effect is so much easier to prepare for than Water Surface and Fairy Tale, the two most powerful fields in the game at this point. His typing is a lot worse than Water or Steel, some of the best typings in the game. Finally, his mons are not as difficult to deal with as he doesnt have that powerful pokemon

I destroyed Hardy with Drizzle Polietoad+Specs Swift Swim Kingdra with Surf while I had to counter team and play perfeclty for Titania and Amaria.

It's a good thing they ended the nuzlocke rules before pulse abra because there would be a lot of deaths there. I also wonder how well they're going to do vs Noel. I always thought he was really hard, even with Cincinno not being his first mon.

I always found Noel to be pretty easy outside of his Porygon Z. Even with a Spirttomb, that thing is a pain in the ass to face and you have to lead off with a pokemon to trigger the Attack Boost as well.

  8. Good that they finally took off the Perma Deaths Rules for all Encounters Moving Forward. That means they wont be liable to lose the psuedos,Poipole,or any other starters that they may find.

If they lost the Goomy Encounter,Amaria would be hell. Assualt Vest Goodra with Sludge wave is such a life saver for that Gym.

    I didn't actually beat it.

For me it got sent out before the T-tar and I just heal spammed and waited for the hail to kill it.

I lost first time and managed to win Second try. His Chomp ended up being his last mon and I had already set Webs and Toxic Spikes,so I just sacked my Politoad to reverse the sand and then stalled him out with my Phys Def Gliscor

  10. Just now, Azery then said:

It's Mega, it's just that the PULSE2 isn't a hold item, it's a manual buff granting 252 to every stat.

Yeah, that why when I first faced Solaris in EP18 I was confused as his Chomp was dealing a lot more damage than it should have even with me removing the Sand.

I myself have a Hydreigon breed and EV trained to see if it can stand up to Lin's.

Gonna have to rely on speed ties though.

    Also PULSE-2s don't transform

    We've already met one

Solaris's Mega Garchomp when we fight him in Agate

My Hydra is still in the PC waiting to be trained God Damnit. Solaris Chomp being Pulsed and not Mega does makes sense though

Assault Vest Primarina seems like it could be good against this

Assuming Lins Hydra isnt Pulsed Powered,Boosted Flash Cannon does chip damage to Maxed SPDef Av Primarina

    252 SpA Hydreigon Flash Cannon vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Primarina: 61-72 (16.7 - 19.7%) -- guaranteed 6HKO

    +6 252+ SpA Hydreigon Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Primarina: 336-396 (95.1 - 112.1%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO

Yeah, best course of action is to bait the Z Move and then go hard Prim

    Seems about right

But it's worth noting that it is highly likely,if not certain, that her Hydriegon will be a PULSE-2

Meaning max EVs in all stats

    We gonna need a Florges

If that is the case then I will finally use those Type Reduction Berries in a Normal Pokemon Run and not Draft League,oh how Times Change. Babiri Berry Florges and Clefable,Choice Scarfs, and Nagandel will everyone new best friends

If it does end up being a Pulse Mon then it might have Sheer Force or Adaptability which is even more of a nightmare

  14. I forget that we are defintly going to have to fight Lin on a New World Field and her Hydreigon will probably be something like this

    Hydreigon (M) @ Darkinium Z
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Dark Pulse
    - Draco Meteor
    - Earth Power
    - Flash Cannon

This looks like hell without Choice Scarf and or Nagandel with Draco

I can't wait til we get actual fights in the Flower Garden & the Starlight Arena

Flower Garden doesnt seem that bad as long as you can prevent the Field from reaching past Stage 2. However,we are probably going to have to fight both Laura and Bennet as a Double Battle, and if the Field gets to Stage 3 and Beyond the fight is over.

Starlight Aura scares me as Anna might be a Elite Four Member, and we may have to fight a fucking Jirachi which in the field will be utter hell

On Top of that,The Reborn Elite Four may necessitate a Ice Shard User as we may have to fight Heathers Mega Mence on a Snowy Mountain Field

personal preference, i think there's definitely room for some more to be creatable. but it's good mod potential. in fact, in the past @Inuki actually made a mod that if you used magic room while holding certain items you could generate any field. idk if that's even remotely up to date though.

Thanks for the Suggestion,I have tried the mod out and it is pretty good and Magic Room is no longer completely useless

  17. The only Fields that I would consider inherently bad in Reborn are

-Mirror Field:No need to explain this one

-Short Circuit Field:The Boost to Electric Moves becoming essentially Psywave is incredibly obnoxious. I live if I get X Role but I die if I get Y? Or I Kill if I get M Role but dont If I get N? What the fuck is this. I would rather have a consistently strong or weak boost.

-Circus:This is probably he best out of the listed fields as it has the most consistency and the player has a lot more degree of control over the field.

    My Favorite Fields would be

-Forest Field:Best Fight in the Game takes place on this one in Shelly.

-Superheated: Charlotte really carries this field. Now that her Typhlosion is legal, the Fight is a loads of Fun with Rain Dance and Trick Room. Along with Charlotte,Solaris First Battle is a great Story Battle

-Water Surface-Amaria Fight is really cool, and it is fitting that one of the hardest fields is made for the one of the best Offensive and Defensive Types in the game.

Fairy Tale Field: The Field is busted beyond belief but I really like the aesthetic of it.

Others like Factory,Ashen Beach,Wasteland, etc are all cool and lead to some great fights.

Route 4, the small pond with Waterfall, that Super Rod fishing could catch you Slowpoke in... At night, while traversing the jumping rocks, Absol would attack. Catching it, it said OT:Ame.

Now, it can trigger (the event), right after Ame's Death/Devon Raid. Before, it could be acquired, the very moment you reached that place.

    Thanks

Event (Ame's) Absol. It is now a post Restoration thing. If you need Absol early, try to get a wild one (rare chance), near that area.

Ralts was pushed back too, but ever since ep17, anyway. As well as Beldum.

There was a event for Ame Absol? What was the event and how did you trigger it?
