  1. Hey everyone! I've seen a couple of posts around asking for a debug mode for rejuv, and so far nobody has posted one.

Is that because Jan doesn't want people using debug mode, or just because no-one has bothered making one for the current version of the game yet?

If Jan has asked people not to do it I'll respect that, but if he's cool with it I can post a scripts.rxdata file with debug mode enabled here.

    Cheers!

  2. I agree that there's no way anyone would take 10 hours to complete this (unless you want to catch every single pokemon and have super bad luck with the encounters, I guess). It took me about 4 to do everything, and that was taking my time and leveling loads of pokemon up.

Overall, the graphics and the music are very nice, and there are a lot of nifty details, like every bookcase, bin and TV saying something different when you interact with them. There are a few bugs, though, and even more so for mac users. I got around those by using parallels for mac for playing it, since the bugs on mac were pretty gamebreaking.

I'd be thrilled if* this were just a demo for a run-of-the-mill fan game that's been in development for a year or two, but apparently it's been in development for 9 years, so it's a bit underwhelming. Especially when you compare it to reborn, rejuvenation, desolation, etc., which are huge games with a ton of features and hours of gameplay. Maybe the dev team hyped the game too much, but I was a bit disappointed that that's all there was.

It's fun to play if you've got a lazy afternoon with nothing else to do, but since the next episode of the game will probably take a couple of years I'll probably delete it now that I've played through the demo. I'd still recommend people try it out if they've got nothing better to do, mainly because the graphics are quite nice, but don't set your expectations too high.

Tldr; Pretty, but nothing to write home about.

Edit: I'm also not a big fan of the time in the game not matching your computer's, especially when there are pokemon that evolve at a certain time of day, but that's just a small gripe.

I'll explain, for about 6 years now I've been bullied, they've been caught but no stopping, led to some nasty thoughts I don't want to talk about and last year I had 4 melt downs almost had a mental breakdown last and this year so that adds up to 6. I hear talk behind my back I've heard all of it. Today during fucking cooking class I CALLED A FUCKING TACO SHELL A MOTHER FUCKING VEGETABLE WHEN IT WAS OBVIOUSLY A MOTHER FUCKING GRAIN. So during 8th hour I went out into the pod went to the door/window where I like to read and I thought about stuff and generally I don't like it. It's gotten to the point where I don't even smile at the shows I re watch most of the time even when they do hilarious jokes. I'm thinking of just telling my vice principle or even the actual principle because I'm sick of it and all that caused me chronic insomnia so I have major sleep problems and sometimes I just lay my head down and listen to music. Sorry for making this so long but I just needed people to tell this to.

Hey, man! I'm sorry to hear what you've been through, but try not to let it get you down (though I know that's easier said than done). At the end of the day, in a couple of years you'll be out of school, hopefully studying something you're passionate about, and you'll never have to see these people again. High school is the worst, but you'll be out of there before you know it.

I hope this isn't too presumptuous, but, for your own mental health, don't forget personal hygiene and try going to bed earlier to get some sleep. You might not think so but, speaking from experience, you'll feel much better and more able to face the day after you've showered and had a bite to eat, when otherwise you wouldn't even want to leave the house. If you want someone to talk to, feel free to PM me!

PD.: I use lettuce leaves as my taco shells, so, technically, you weren't even wrong about taco shells being vegetables!

  4. @XxAlexxX Yeah, I'm sure Jan would write a nice story for that scenario, but my point wasn't about the storyline.

I meant that if the final battle was Melia vs Madame X, we (as the player character) would get no gameplay. It would only be dialogue and maybe choosing Melia's decision for her, like in this last episode. So, personally, I'd care less about who the final boss is and more whether we actually get to do something.

Crescent said that smiling will be a luxury, a luxury none of us could afford. You described the reason she said that, our friends are going away so here's who I think the final boss trainer will be. Madame X vs Melia or us vs Crescent. I prefer the Madame X vs Melia more because that will be more entertaining.

How would Madame X vs Melia be more entertaining than us vs whoever?

I mean, I'd rather have youngster Joey be the final boss as long as we get to fight him than be sidelined while Melia has a final superhero showdown with Madame X.

  6. Did you maybe watch a youtube video of someone doing the flabebe quest on v10 and got confused?

Because route 2 is the way you describe it (green trees, factory, cut, a girl saying she remembers you looking for the cave with Ren and Venam) after you cut Vivian's tree and go back to route 2 for the flabebe.

It's what saved me from 40 minutes of a headache that I got my first time.

I didn't even attempt the puzzle without taking a picture first, lol. The last one and the zorua one would have been impossible otherwise.

Here's a good trick. Go to the rejuvenation folder, open up 2 copies of the Game.exe and drag them both so they're side-by-side and click on one of them so you can control it, move the character into the room with the solution, and the other game.exe click that and move the character into the actual puzzle and rinse and repeat.

I just snapped a picture of the room with my phone so I didn't have to run back and forth, lol. But your trick would work too!

  9. Maybe handing over the magma stone does affect it then. I just did it a couple of days ago in v10 and it worked fine for me. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Edit: Just remembered, for me the dialogue actually appeared when I read the big stone. It then said "would you like to step in the middle of the circle?" and I clicked yes, which is when Kyogre appeared.

  10. You have to do it as soon as you turn the mountain to cold, before you go rescue Nim. I don't know if handing the magma stone to Cera will affect if it shows or not (I kept the stone). It's two floors down from the entrance, so one floor above the poliwag lilypad. Once you're in that floor, go north until you see a big blue symbol on the ground and some big stone (like the one where the prophecies are written in the hidden library). Once there step in the middle of the circle and that should summon kyogre.

You might have to actually read the stone too, which will say something like "they will be released when the beast is defeated".

  11. Spoiler

Did you continue the missing children quest? You could also go surfing north of Akuwa town and explore the wispy ruins again, they've been redone.

As for new pokemon events in other areas, you can chop Vivian's cherry tree and go to route two to a new lab that's there, and then replant the cherry tree and go back to catch flabebe. There's also an espurr west of Narcissa's town and a growlithe in terajuma jungle you can befriend and take with you.

    I think that's it for v10!

  12. Since it's mid february already, can we talk about the ending for a bit now that the next release approaches? I just love speculating. (Spoilers ahead, for everyone that hasn't finished the game yet!)

First off, am I the only one who finds this game incredibly creepy? Way more so than rejuvenation or reborn. In a good way, though! I was home alone last night playing, and when I got to the final cutscene when you're in that dark corridor with the mysterious voice and the other characters' sprites start to show up, I was so creeped out I had to turn all my living room lights on. So kudos to Caz on that ending, you really managed to freak me out!

So what are people's theories on what happened in that ending, the weird voice, the right choices to make, etc.?

Personally I saved both Nova and Scarlett (lucky I snooped through the forum first or I wouldn't have known to go back for the bow). I'm not sure if saving Nova was the right choice, but it seemed wrong to side with Shiv's sister or just do nothing when I had the option to.

I was convinced that the disembodied voice that kept asking what our dreams are and what a hero is was Tristan, but after that ending now I'm thinking that maybe it's Aurora? So my new theory is that since Aurora thought we were interesting she put us to sleep and conned us into telling her all our backstory so she'd know what the heroes had been up to, starting from the boat ride, which is the adventure we've been having up until now. As for waking up with her in the jungle, I think that's the dream and the rest of the adventure was real, and she just wants us to think that it's the other way around (to con us into trusting her, maybe?). The only problem is that apparently Garrett said people only have powers in the dream world, so we might have been in a dream the whole time. This is confusing, man. Caz should seriously consider a career as a philosopher or something.

And what's Tristan's deal? Am I the only one who thought his grandpa had locked him up in that pokeball in his house? If we didn't actually get his badge, why couldn't we have just taken one from his house like everyone else apparently did? If he wasn't really with us throughout silver rise, were all the trainers in there just a bunch of jerks ganging up two-on-one against a poor kid? Didn't he speak to some of the rangers in the mountain, or am I remembering wrong? Plus, did Tristan do some ghost magic voodoo to stop us from snooping through his house when we first enter it? The first sign I had that something wasn't quite right with Tristan was when it said we "shouldn't really read other people's diaries" and "shouldn't snoop in people's rooms", considering that's the first thing we pokemon players obsessively do as soon as we get to a new place or spy a suspiciously-coloured item anywhere.

Anywhoo, I'd love to hear people's theories! And congrats on making a very enjoyable game, Caz!

I'll add on to that, as I agree with you. There's a fight with Zetta when you first arrive on Terajuma. Your "friends" send out their Pokemon in order to battle, but as soon as the fight starts, you're the only one who actually does any fighting. After you win, however, THIS happens:

    Cc8F1BU.png

    jKmGRc1.png

Stop acting as if you DID anything. I'm the one who kicked his ass!

Oh wow I can't believe I forgot about that one, especially since it ticked me off so badly when it happened. They could at least have put some grunts up there with Zetta so it looked like our helpful friendos actually fought someone. Otherwise what the hell did Zetta have, like 40 pokemon to fight everyone at once? Or did the scooby gang just stand menacingly on the sidelines with their pokemon out waiting to pounce with their witty remarks to steal our credit again after we did the heavy lifting?

Honestly, there have been times in the game where I wish we could join Team Xen, if only so we could do something people actually acknowledge.
