If it makes a difference I am still running OS 10.13.6 High Sierra since I've got a number of 32-bit programs I still use.

I think I found a way to make it work for high sierra. you have to download the old v13 game, and then download the v13.5 files (NOT the updater), and just replace the contents of the v13 folder with the new ones by clicking show contents on the app. It seems to be working for me for now at least! Hopefully any patches will be uploaded separately so we can manually update as needed because the updater just does not work on high sierra.
