I kept Hex instead of teaching it Shadow Ball because of Will-o-wisp, but now I have another reason to be thankful for keeping that move.
Heh. Not many people think inflicting burns on a Sp.Attack happy type is a good idea, but it seems like it paid off nicely in the end.
-
Psychic terrain does affect only hex as far as ghost type moves go.
The battle is also ridiculously easy because of taunt alone so maybe you guys are overhyping the puppeteers too much :/...

I noticed that once the party at Amber's is over this particular audino trainer dissapears leaving a 15 levels gap between the one in Kakori village and the one in West Gearen.
Am I doing something wrong here?
TIA

So midday form wins by a long shot
Would it be fair to say I'm interested in this no guard niche of the night form? My rockruff had steadfast to begin with ...

Topic.
Started an Intense run and got one at level 24 already. I'm trying to decide which one to go for based on community guidance
Post your thoughts if you'd like.

Story
Best: Sheridan Village (The mysteries of Keta)
Even with Aelita's meddling, I still never understood why Keta did the things he did, such as tributing his whole village to Team Xen or never listing Aelita as his bloodline descendant, but at the very least, attempting to find out carried me through the rather lengthy sequence of Sheridan Village
Worst: Blacksteeple (Aelita's torturing)
Probably a personal opinion, but I just didin't like how the overall response from the group to Aelita's torturing was: "Oh well, let's just poke holes on the sides faster, we were gonna hit something anyway but now we have a reason" Felt kinda passive for a life threatening condition.
Characters
Best: Tesla
Even though she's part of the Elite 8, she can find it within herself to raise orphans down on their luck. I found that kinda cool
Worst: Melia
I just can't help but to dislike how long she victimizes herself for the early game events and how entitled she seems to be growing over time because of them and the longer she's allowed to keep going like this, the more awkward that wake up call event is going to be, for everyone.
Map design
Best: Marble Mansion
Even before the visual upgrade, I always find myself fooling around in every room of this place trying to dig out whatever secrets I could find, giggle times for me
Worst: Amethyst Cave
The reason why I pick Amethyst Cave for this is because of how early game it is, yet it teases you with all these unreachable areas that require up to 7 badges to explore, meaning of course, that you will be coming back, several times, and from places as far as Kristilline town just to see what was on the other side of that rock climb path *coughaprilsubquestcough*
Side-quests
Best: West Gearen (House Sit!)
Described as a boring mission. Sakitron will show you why that's not the case.
Worst: Code : Feris
Or better known as the Nancy/chandelure sidequest. You take on the rift chandelure right after nancy's team of moonblasting fairies. No chance to heal. Annoying -3-...
In general
Best: Plot weight
Since Rejuvenation has 16 gym badges instead of the standard 8, it gives itself enough time to craft a well made story. Some characters may or may not be likable at first but well, we're still 5 badges + the league away. I'm sure we're all in for good surprises
Worst: Reward system vs Difficulty spikes ratio
This is a difficult topic, but one that should be addressed. Recent forum activity may have spoken of this before I did, but some sentiments are shared.
As you progress with the story, and with boss fights becoming harder and harder (bosses with access to late game, mold breaking movesets and mega evolutions) the feeling that you don't have as much as you would like to have to fight back with becomes more and more palpable.
You're hit with Earthquake as soon as the fight for the third badge rolls in, Ren's team bringing in egg moves into the plate right before the fight for the fourth badge, Erick/Flora-in introducing their access to mega evolutions at the ninth or tenth badge (possible Amber too on intense runs) and your biggest weapon in the fight against the puppeteers is...the taunt TM and only if you deviated from the train after you get strength from Krystal to pillage an abandoned manor in the middle of a forest.
What I mean to say is...why do rewards feel so underwhelming?

I'd like to add more rankings to everything in particular but that would take me more than I currently have available maybe another post if I can

So as I was playing around with random TM compatibilities, I was like eh, imma just check real quick if the Incinerate TM can be taught to some of the mons I have:
So how can I get the Incinerate TM to work? Just wondering
-
oooh it's given to you
Does it work if I just go to route 2 and back for it?

I think you can get it after the 3rd gym, though it may be the fourth.
Really? Where?

Since your greninja knows smack down and your Krookodile can learn it too, on top of knowing crunch. It's probably safe to sub out Lycanroc for Rowlett.

For the electric type I suggest Alolan Raichu, Manectric, or Magnezone
Fire type Id suggest Salazzle or Arcanine.
Thanks! I was thinking about Arcanine for fire type. Also Is Manectric only accessible after GDC?
21 hours ago, mario98 said:for grass im using vileplume and its pretty good, although you dont get a lot of poison moves, so you may want bellosom
I considered this but I absolutely dislike its subpar speed. Regarding poison type moves, you get access sludge bomb and sludge wave when you get magma drift
21 hours ago, Zargerth said:Here's a little twist: use only mons that evolve via Stones (as in Fire, Water, Leaf Stone etc.)
Some of them are handy, but the list of said mons isn't that large anyway so I'd rather widen my search scope
19 hours ago, Octavius said:How about Delphox, Crawdaunt (don't forget aqua jet), Magneton/Vikavolt, Tsareena, Crobat, and Lycanroc (Day)?
Honorable mentions: shadow vanillite that gets will-o-wisp, diggersby, salazzle, swampert, heracross, breloom
Thanks! I'll keep these close in mind
19 hours ago, SilverHelio said:Magmortar, Sharpedo, Vikavolt, Serperior w/contrary, Snorlax, Yveltal if you want legends, if not Crobat.
Heh, can you even catch Yvetal? Nice suggestions btw
5 hours ago, Katia said:Well first I am going to be frank, I would like to recommend that you ditch the grass type as it's very redundant with the combination of water and electric. Water like grass is super effective againist rock/ground while electric is good againist water which doesn't leave a niche for grass. However if you really want that grass type, then at least try to go for one that has dark, fairy, fighting or ground as it's sub type. Now you can ignore this, but doing so will make your run harder.
Aside from that, I highly recommend that you add the following types to your team: Fighting, ground, fairy and dark. I also recommend that you add one of the following two types which are poison and steel. My reasons for this are as followed. Fighting is the only type that is super effective against normal pokemon. Ground is the only typing that is super effective againist electric pokemon. Fairy is super effective to both fighting and dragon pokemmon, both of which are very powerful. Dark type pokemon are one of the only two types that is super effective againist ghost and the only one of those two options that also resists it. Also useful againist psychic pokemon. As for steel and poison, those types are the only ones that are super effective against fairy type pokemon.
I actually ended up dropping electric instead (only actually kept a zebraika because of lightning rod and only until Erick). Why? Discharge effs up my own team in double fights and volt switch is absolutely terrible for the fight you have to go through to get it.
Ground Type: I had a Camerupt with me on my normal run. Ended up helping more than I expected even with it's awful speed/defenses
Fighting Type: I had a Hariyama on the side waiting to sub in should I ever needed him. Was never part of my stamem because I had already a camerupt bringing the whole team down in the speed department.
Fairy: I kept a Ribombee close with me at all times because I thought she would help at the 10th badge. Ended fighting flora instead lol
Dark: Yes and no. The only times dark type moves can shine, the field cripples them. It might be okay for the resistances but the amount of mons randomly showing up with superpower is disturbingly high to even bother with this.
Thanks for helping me out with ideas

I find them a lot during the day. But about their actual rarity. I don't know
P.D: You may want to have a heart scale at the ready since you'll need to manually re teach stomp.

pssst... guys
What happens with douse happens with incineration as welll.
Just my two cents for now.

When Madelis takes Amber she tells you to go to the depths of the mountain first instead of the summit.

How does Rejuvenation handle these?
I remember reading something about "Link Hearts" and how there was a vendor for it but I can't seem to find them...
TIA

So yeah, after beating the pupeteers on normal and the subsequent quests. I'm willing to for an intense run.
Don't know what to go for so I'll lay down my personal preferences.
A fire type, A water type, an electric type, a grass type and the other two slots can be anything.
What should I use
-
At the hidden library I got the Good Rod. But if it's possible to get the Super Rod. I'm interested too
-
Hmm, that is peculiar. The only way it should be possible for it to void dragon pulse is if it was given some priority somehow and then again all her mons should be immune to it and not just her malamar.
Granted I did have the very same Malamar voiding some moves of various types for no apparent reason, but at the time I thought I was just doing something wrong (I'm still understanding this field advantages thing)

they put some end-game competitive movesets on early-mid game battles
Well if it's any solace, you do get decent moves after you get surf and rock climb

What move and whose malamar?

7. I think the four warriors of the light prophecy are the protagonist, Melia, Venam and Kanon. The other four of the dark prophecy is still vague, yet I think one of them is Ren. Maybe the other three are Valerie, Saki and Adam because all three are currently missing AND at Blacksteeple castle, Melia mentioned Valerie has some hostileness and bad aura within her so I think they are plausible suspects.
In blacksteeple, the absol statue states that the four of darkness represent: raw evil, obsession, betrayal and greed. Try as hard I might I just can't seem to put Adam, Saki or Valerie into any of themIn fact my current picks are: Madame X, Indriad/Angie, Ren and Cassandra

Didn't find it in the guide
Or am I being teased here?
