can you actually get dwebble on route 2, i have been smashing rocks for 1 hour now

and you can get swirlix and spritze on route 2 right it's just that they have a low encounter rate right, or is it at a specific time?

Dwebble I haven't seen but I've caught swirlix and spritzee before. In both occasions it was at a pink patch of grass, not sure if these grass are more likely to cause them to appear, on the north west corner of the map, where the painter is. Swirlix and Spritzee only appear on day time also.

you can still see if a mom are shiny in eggs right? how do I get the egg in venams gym?

I don't understand your first question but to get the egg in Venam's gym you need to go to the final puzzle room and input a different code.

    1st - All 4 poisons
    2nd - red, blue, green
    3rd - red, yellow, green

A secret entrance will open up leading to Venam's Graveyard.

  3. If you already have Surf and Rock Climb the key to get into the Gearen City Attack EV training room is in here.

The ATK card is at the second segment of the cave. It will have two closed entrances with white barrels you can interact with to open them.  I think the entrance at the far right has the Attack Card.

If that doesn't work I went ahead and skipped the dialogue for you allowing you to continue. The door should now be open with Venam inside, all you need to do is go forward through the door.

where do we check a pokemon hapiness

If you go to Gearen City, do the help center quest "Missing Mother". Afterwards a lady with black hair will appear in the Petal Salon. She can rate your Pokemon's happiness. I don't really remember what the conditions are but I think full happiness is "Inseparable"

@PigeonOfAstora Go to the Xen Back Up Lab in Sheridan Wetlands. Go to where you fought Ren in the story. Just north of where you fought Ren is another train that leads to the backup lab. You need the HQ Railnet from Madelis to get there. Once you're in the Backup Lab there will be a tube with a pokemon in it at the south east corner of the lab, north of the exit back to the wetlands. If you read the book next to the tube, it will tell you what ingredients you need to get Ralts out.

  6. This is a bug recently fixed by Patch 10. If you haven't patched your game yet, here a link to the thread that has it.

If you have patched your game and you still have this issue. I go ahead and cancel that quest and progress the story. Progress far enough to the point where Valerie isn't in the Pokemon Center and then try again.

  7. @Svemir There's a few things you can try to do. If possible try reverting back to the save before you made the decision. Instead let her tag along and see if the problem still persists. You can also send me your save file and I'll see what I can do to help progress you through the story. If you genuinely believe that this is bug related you can also post your save file at the Save File Troubleshooting Thread to get it fixed.

I might be missing a giant thing here...

I'm in V9 Kakori Village, and Melia just said something about only one person would be playing a particular song and ran off.

I checked the new boat at the shore but can't interact with it...

Check the room next to the room you and Melia were talking in.

    Hi there!
    Need help.
After beating Amber and all that dialog with her and Venam, Venam and I went to Augustus to ask him where Melia is. When found out, Venam asked if i will go directly with her or not, I chose to go by myself. Now when I come to the Valor's Mountain big Blue/Pink door noone is there.
Any advice? Am I missing something? Or just a bug?

You may need to patch your game. I heard there was a bug that prevented Venam from correctly appearing in Mount Valor. If I recall even if you said you were going to go alone, Venam should still be there. You can get the latest patch here.

  9. Hi, I've never seen a shiny mawile but i went around digging and found out what shiny mawile looked like and injected it into my game for you. It looks like it's not shiny locked since it did not crash my game and it does have a sprite. However, I'm not sure if the specific pokemon you get from your mother has a chance to become a shiny.

  10. @lokighost You can get Type:Null as soon as you have the Surf ability. Go to Goldenwood Town and head toward Route 3. Instead of crossing the bridge surf down the river to reach River's End. You will see Rails and a House just to the right side of where you entered. Go to the house and Venam's dad will stop you. He will take you to his lab and tell you about a secret entrance at the Xen Lab under Wispy Ruins. Go back to the Xen Lab and look for a surfable area. There will be a statue and if you examine it from the north side it will have a jewel. Here you need a pokemon with a move that "shines light". So far the only moves i know that work are Flash and Moonbeam. Afterwards, the jewel will go to a similar statue at another room. Solve the picture puzzle to open the gate with a purple pokeball.

Return to Venam's Dad and he'll tell you he needs a Magnet, an Up-Grade, and a regular Pokeball in order to open it. Once you give him the required ingredients the pokemon inside will escape back to where you found its pokeball. This time it will be hiding in a patch of grass that you can interact with. From here you can simply catch it.

  11. @Natsuki_sama I'm assuming what you did was not give Cera the Magma stone and so you defrosted the TM shop and they gave you magma drift. This means you were able to skip going through Crawli's Gym, which if you did go through this route you would have ran into Kyogre. However, if you didn't your best bet is to try to enter Kyogre's lair to try to initiate the fight. I read somewhere in the forum that getting the HQ Railnet Key was only really possible if you chose to give Cera the Magma Stone and fought Kyogre. I don't know if there any alternatives if you chose a different path.

  12. @Natsuki_sama You have to talk to her at Mount Valor after you fight a certain legendary pokemon. If you skipped through this fight, go to Mount Valor and change it's emotion to cold. Instead of climbing up the mountain, climb down it and find the Garufa Lair. See if you can activate the fight.

    Spoiler

    Kyogre is the legendary pokemon

Where is it? I can't seem to find it. I have looked everywhere...

North of Flora's corruption at the same place where you fight the 10th gym leader. As soon you enter surf up to the land across follow the left path. There will be person there and just across from him is a path leading to Huma Meadow.

  14. @Ogstein It really depends on what you want out of the game.

Torchic is the best starter if you get one with the Speed Boost ability
Froakie is the best Jack of all Trades with the Protean ability, offering many type advantages in your disposal
Popplio is very bulky, amazing special attack, and as stated has one of the best typing for a starter
Cyndaquil is probably the strongest fire Special Attacker
Bulbasaur is also very bulky and has great support moves like sleep powder
Ralts (jackpot starter) is probably the smoothest start in the game. It has type advantage over the first two gyms and resists shadow moves from shadow pokemon.

  15. @Ogstein A Modest, High Sp. ATK and Speed IV/EV, Snivy with the Contrary ability is probably the best Grass-type starters. This is because Leaf Storm is one of the strongest moves in the game. It lowers the pokemon's Sp.atk, however with the Contrary instead of lowering stats, stats changes are opposite. This means instead of losing Sp. Atk you gain Sp. Atk per Leaf Storm. The trick is Snivy learns this move at level 43, meaning you have to keep Snivy from evolving until level 43.

  16. Spoiler

    1) After you get Froakie, get the Shuppet at Emerald building during night. (You can change from day to night by changing the clock on your computer). Shuppet is really good for the first and second gym and receives a priority move pretty early on. It becomes pretty useless once you hit the third gym.

    2) Catch a Woobat in the GoldenWood Cave, trust me a flying type will be great to have. You can however replace with a Swablu when you reach Sheridan.

    3) Do the Dangerous Help Quest to get a free Growlithe.

    4) Once you gain access to route 2, catch an Aipom during day time, you're not keeping this pokemon but it will be useful later.

    5) Go to the North East corner of route 2 and you'll find a painter, run around the pink patches during day time and catch a Spritzee, a decent Fairy Pokemon. Good for fighting Ren. You can replace this with the Mawile after Blacksteeple.

    6) When you get to Sheridan City, go to the Help Center and take the "Cute Pokemon" quest. A girl will ask you to trade an Aipom for a Pancham. It will evolve into Pangoro if it reaches level 32, while you have a dark type in your party *cough* Greninja *cough*. Very useful for the 4th gym.

    7) Take the quest about a missing brother at Sheridan. Catch the Lunatone that's attacking him. Very useful for the entire Sheridan part. Make sure to give it a rock type move.

    8) Once you hit the fourth gym, catch a Yamask and evolve it into Cofagrigus, this will replace Shuppet/Banette if you haven't already.

    9) Catch two Phantomp (evening) one male and one female. Take them to the daycare in Sheridan and wait for an egg (chance of happeing after 255 steps). Take the egg to route 3 and find the boy who gives the mystery egg (during the day). Hatch it and pray you get something good if not throw it in pc.

    10) Catch an Emolga at route 4. Replace Growlithe or whichever is lagging behind. Useful for the 5th gym.

Here's a list of things I always do whenever I start a new save. Although usually I start with a snivy with contrary, torchic with speed boost, or froakie with protean. The up side is this makes the early game really easy. The down side is you have no ground type, which I almost never use is any of my play-through anyways. However, this means the 10th gym will be very difficult, so prepare for it after the 9th gym.
