    -snip-

I did a playthrough on my channel and wanted to open up the game to check it out again, maybe change my team and record a video. I click game.exe multiple times but it will not open. I downloaded the new version available and it still won't open. This seems to only happen to my Clockwork game.exe because when I open up other games they work fine (Older games also).

@The Only God I watched the entire thing. I’m glad that you enjoyed the game. I appreciate you so much for being the first person to put footage on YouTube. I recommend you collect and explore the current build as much as possible because many things will be changed/removed from the game going forward. You may unfortunately be waiting quite awhile for the next release. Currently looking into getting a dev team together, since I literally made the prologue on my own. Props for choosing Slakoth as your starter as well lol

Hmmm.. there's still things I missed? I thought I thoroughly explored most areas before I decided to leave them. I'll take a look again, maybe in another episode. About the wait time, I mean it sucks but people have shit to do. I'll still be excited to play it down the road. I'm currently waiting for Desolation to update.

Also Slakoth is the G.O.A.T what do you mean xD. Just wait until he turns into a powerful Slaking.

Loved the video mate, also I recommend going back to the principal's hall elevator. You may find something of use there.

I think I already did. I was enjoying the game a lot so I recorded like 5 episodes in the same day. Just waiting to render & upload them.

The game has a fairly thought-provoking plot and some really beautiful overworld design. I'd classify it as in the same tier as Reborn and Rejuvenation overall, a third wheel of sorts to the two games. It shares many mechanics with them.

I would say at least that the game is also pretty brutal in difficulty, and possibly has a major reverse difficulty curve, which is a major problem. The first three gyms were harder than anything I'd ever fought in Reborn and Rejuvenation overall, although for the first two gyms, that could be attributed to limited Pokemon selection more than anything else. The third gym just goes straight into nuking you into the floor. After that, the Pokemon/TM selection expands to the point where the difficulty really drops.

Desolation is actually very generous with its Pokemon and TM selection overall, but you really have to explore to find them. Deso certainly has a bigger emphasis on that. (For example, you can get a Flash Cannon TM before you challenge the Fairy gym, but in order to obtain it, you had to follow a massive sidequest up to that point - which includes defeating a tough boss, and chances are if you beat that boss, you would have probably beaten the gym leader without needing the TM in the first place.)

I personally think it's better than both Reborn and Rejuvenation. Completed my playthrough of the current episode on my YouTube Channel.

How do said games compare to Reborn?

So far the only fangames I've played are Reborn, Rejuvenation and Light Platinum. The later two of which were incredibly disappointing after experiencing the depth of the characters, world-building and story in Reborn.

Alright it's been quite awhile since I have played Legends of the Arena, Vega or Dark Rising as I have beaten them awhile ago but I just beat (or rather caught up to) Pokemon Desolation and you definitely won't be disappointed with that one. I can't really explain how "good" it measures up to reborn because I beat that awhile back also but I think it's better than Rejuvenation for sure. The depth of the characters are pretty good and the world building / story is also good in my opinion. You'll just have to give it a chance.

Now for Legends of the Arena, the story is lighter than Reborn so it won't be as good if you're looking for something very similar to Reborn but if you're just looking for a good story & game play at the same time, LOTA is amazing at that & it's a very unique game.

Pokemon Vega well like I said before it achieves difficulty without the need for bullshit and it's stories pretty good. All that can be said really, been too long.

Dark Rising series, well just search it up on google to be honest, it's an extremely popular fan-game and is dubbed as one of the hardest. It actually does have a lot of story though, especially I think in the 2nd version but it's been a very long time so welp.

All in all, just try them lol, no point in me trying to convince you what you'll like, we aren't friends. I don't know what'll make you excited or annoyed. You can search them all up, read descriptions and form your opinion on whether you would like to play any of them.

(Typing at 3 am so idk how to explain this better really.)

Perhaps I'll try the game once it comes out, it sounds pretty good from what people are telling me, though more aligned with the regular Pokémon game experience ~

    Play

    - Pokemon Legends of the Arena (One of the best I have played mainly for its originality)

    - Pokemon Vega (It's actually very good and achieves difficulty without field effects & level caps I think, been awhile etc.) Wasn't hard for me though.

    - The Dark Rising series

    - Pokemon Desolation (Just played it, it's actually pretty good and very entertaining)

You can catch in the grass of area after addenfall where the bridge is.

Yeah I went back into my recordings and found it out. Thanks though.

Edit: Done the current release of the game, it was pretty good I liked it. I'm doing a playthrough on my YouTube account, check it out in my signature, should have the entire play through uploaded soon :).

In Blackview, you start a sidequest where you have to track down some Pokémon for the Boss. Be prepared for a few fairly tough fights. You'll be able to find the starting point in the north park area.

Wait so the first Pokemon to find is in the North park area or that's just where you speak to the boss because I already spoke to him lol.
