    Spoiler

Heather was a little hard to manage at first, but it really did come down to killing Crobat asap and stalling out Tailwind on Nidoking by switching into immunities (Torterra for electric, Aegislash for poison, Drifblim for ground. rinse/repeat until tailwind died haha.)

Laura/Bennett were swept as long as somebody managed to set up Sunny Day/take out their rain dancer and boosted weatherball was essential (replaced it right after, though)

El was. I honestly don't remember. Drampa gave me the most trouble, but it was relatively straightforward. His field is easy to leverage against him. Make sure ditto transforms into a team member you have a lot of counters for.

I swept Anna, haha. Amnesia x3 with Drifblim, baton pass to Aegislash, Swords Dance x3, profit.

My general strategy involved a lot of set-up, mostly with Drifblim and passing on to Aegislash. Lycanroc took out a lot of set-up threats outright but otherwise was a glass canon. Torterra rocked for defensive switch-ins, and Arcanine was a specially defensive beast with the assault vest. And when in doubt...evasion buff Clefable. It's a cheap strategy, but I have no shame xD

  2. I downloaded it for the first time on the 26th, which was why I was so confused, haha. I opened it with the file you sent and it's working fine now, so I'm not sure why it wasn't working before either ^^;

either way, thank you so much! I'm going to try to battle blueberry again, and I'll let you know if it worked!

edit: yep, it's all good now! thanks again!

  3. hello! I've been really enjoying this game so far, but my save suddenly isn't working anymore? I soft resetted after a battle with blueberry and now clicking on my save gives me this error:

I thought it just had to do with the game files, so I re-extracted them, but it's still not working. google hasn't given me anything to go off of either. any thoughts, or a way to fix this?

I'll attach the save file, too.

I gave Super Pokemon Eevee a chance, I loved it, got a decent amount of progress. But unfortunately.... the save file got lost for some reason midway after I exited for a break and rebooted. All the progress after I faced the first gym lost. Any fixes or something? I think I won't be playing that again any time soon..

that's unfortunate :( I'm not sure how to fix it, but you can contact the creator on their twitter here: https://twitter.com/theRaonak

I'm glad you liked it for the short time that you did get to play it, though, and I hope you can recover your save x_x

  5. I've only just started playing rejuvenation, so the jury's still out on that one.

desolation's been pretty good so far, I just finished up the second badge and it has a lot of story content. however, it can be a little slow at times, which gets annoying very quickly. (the story's still very worth it so far imo)

although, my all time favorite not-reborn pokemon  fangame is super pokemon eevee edition. it has a great story, amazing characters, and a battle system that's not turn based. I'd highly recommend that game to anyone tbh. it's set in Johto, with gen 2 graphics, and the basis of the game is that you have to stop the "hypervisors" from updating the generation to gen 3, which would essentially erase your world as you know it. seriously, it's pretty far in development and definitely worth a try.

  6. man, some of these are really interesting to read about lol

    mine are:

    1. every pokemon must have a nickname. even if I don't use them, if it's in a box/my party it has a name

    2. every pokemon has to evolve at the same time. idk why, but it's always been a pet peeve of mine to have one completely unevolved pokemon in my main team when the rest already have evolved. this way, it feels like they grow together

    3. at the beginning of the game, the first pokemon I encounter is the first one I catch, and it has to stay on my team.

    4. only use berries for healing. when I was a kid, I hated medicine, and I vowed to never make my pokemon have to use it either. that tradition kind of just stuck xD

and recently, though the feature seems too new to be considered a "tradition", but I make sure that every pokemon in my main six has five hearts in pokemon amie/refresh.

Edit: Where is Decidueye's Z Crystal?

the construction worker who lost the mulch gives it to you (in the garden near the pokemon center in lower peridot ward)

  8. Spoiler

I got the reshiram path, and I nearly started crying tbh. The great thing about reborn is that there probably won't be a happy ending, or conversely, there will be, but they'll both be considered "happy" in their own ways. just as game freak didn't favor black or white over the other, reborn doesn't really seem to be punishing or helping players for what they choose. while the reshiram path had more story, the zekrom path had more emotional impact (at least, in my opinion. the desolate hopelessness that rivals the desert? priceless). here you are, alone, fighting gym leaders and sacrificing everything for how things should ideally be. I'd definitely start another playthrough (I have two ongoing rn, one where I choose truth options, and one where I choose the opposites), but don't give up on this one. I have a feeling there's more twists to come with ep. 18 :o

      Reveal hidden contents

they appear one at a time. If you walk alongside the west or east wall of the desert, you will eventually find one of the four, but i'm not sure if you have to visit all of them at least once to spawn the mirage tower. Maybe it's safer if you visit each oasis and see if the mirage tower is there.

    Spoiler

yeah, just confirmed that you have to visit three mirages consecutively for the tower to appear. it doesn't appear if you visit all four in a row :\ it was really frustrating when I figured that out xD

  10. I just finished off my junior year lol, but my classes were way different, so here are a few general tips:

if your teachers are willing to stay after school, take complete advantage of that time. *especially* if you didn't understand that day's lesson. not sure if you understood? during your next free period, skim over the homework. chances are, if you don't remotely know how to solve at least half, you didn't understand. there's nothing wrong with asking for help

start looking at colleges, but don't get too stressed out. people will tell you that you need your major figured out right away so you can look at colleges, but it's completely possible to look at colleges and even apply without having a major. don't push it off too much, but don't stress yourself out. write down a list of what you like, then look at colleges with majors pertaining to those interests.

join at least one club and/or a sport. being antisocial is fun, but colleges would love you if they saw that you branched out at least a little. not to mention, you might discover a passion you never previously thought about. however, if you're joining a team of any sort, make sure you're willing to commit. if you aren't, inform the coach/adviser that you just want to try it out for a week or two.

as for preparation stuff, get a single one subject notebook and a marble notebook for each class. jot down whatever notes you can in the one subject, then transfer them to the marble notebook in a more coherent form. buy more as you need throughout the year. I found that rewriting my notes actually helped me understand them better haha, you don't have much time in class to think about them when you're rushing to add more.

make sure to have at least one friend in every class. if you don't have one, make one. friends are indispensable when it comes to getting notes and work you've missed, plus it's nice to have somebody to sit next to/talk with. just remember to return the note-taking favor!

junior year is pretty fun! you're starting to discover more independence, and there are huge milestones as well (prom, driving, college visits, SAT/ACT, etc.) you'll have a blast if you keep a good head about you, and remember to relax every once in a while. I can't stress enough how important it is to take a break every once in a while. good luck!

  11. in terms of development and plot, xy and xyz were pretty compelling and well thought out compared to some other seasons (although sinnoh and hoenn will always have special places in my heart). it's what got me back into the pokemon anime for a while haha, though it's disappointing that they ultimately stuck to the formula of Ash falling juuust short of his goal and resetting the series. sumo itself seems kinda promising too, it's less anime and more western cartoon, which is honestly a refreshing change of pace. overall though, xyz was pretty great.

  12. I've heard some speculation about there being gyms in this one because of the eight construction zones around alola. (as for the alternate storyline, I really hope this expands on the multiverse thing. they mentioned it in oras and never really did anything else with it)

  13. Thank you to all of our participants! I'll pm you with the details of trade to claim your prize! (sorry about this not being yesterday, I was struck down by sudden sickness x_x rip)

    And, for the results...

1st Place is Siragon, with their lovely pink Bicarpieux!

2nd Place is casuistry, with their orange-speckled Magikarp!

3rd Place is Candy, with their spooky skeleton Shouko!

    In addition...

The magikarps with the least common pattern were Shouko and Bicarpieux!

Once again, thank you to all who participated in this competition! Jump on, magikarp maniacs!

  14. Nintendo's released its latest and greatest mobile app: magikarp jump! No longer is magikarp a useless pokemon, you can now train it and compete in jumping competitions for fame, prestige, and the re-invigoration of pokemon that had previously lost hope. Not to mention, it's a real time killer and pretty fun as well.

But what does that have to do with online play, you ask? Easy! What I'm proposing here is a simple jumping competition; that is, the person who has the magikarp with the most jumping power wins a prize much sweeter- their very own magikarp in pokemon reborn!

Not just any magikarp, that is...

    Spoiler

    magikarpgiveaway1stplace.PNG.bc3e0756a4d3cf8c5330fed154eb6f46.PNG

    A shiny, 5iv magikarp! *gasp*

That's not all, for the second place winner can choose between

    Spoiler

    magikarpgiveaway2ndplaceoption1.PNG.4fb4fd62dd918ed5bdafb8dfc06bc69c.PNG

    an evil, magikarp-eating pidgeotto or

    magikarpgiveaway2ndplaceoption2.PNG.00b550edd3c403311149221b80c92e5c.PNG

    the world's most helpful pikachu!

Whichever the second place winner doesn't pick automatically goes towards the third place winner

    How To Enter

Now, I know what you're thinking: "but whatonearth, how do I enter this magnificent magical magikarp contest?!"

Once again, I'm glad you asked! Entering is incredibly easy! So easy, in fact, that even a magikarp can enter itself!

All you have to do is post a reply in this topic with a screenshot of your magikarp from the game "Magikarp Jump", in a spoiler like so...

    Spoiler

    koiking-screenshot-1495741158442.thumb.png.9368403eb31d5ee5f54af9de192469fc.png

and the magikarp with the highest jumping power (JP) wins!

    And As A Bonus...

    Spoiler

Magikarp come in different patterns, and there will no doubt be repeats in this thread. So, the magikarp whose pattern appears *least frequently* in this thread will get a random "friendship item" pokemon, complete with their corresponding friendship item (barring the gen 7 starters and pikachu, of course)

The competition will be active all weekend, and ends at 3:00 pm (EST) on May 29th, 2017.

Get jumping! Good luck, fellow magikarp maniacs!

  15. you could do a move run, where you only use mons that can learn a certain move/moves by level up, and once you have one you can't delete it

rn I'm punching my way through the game with those sort of moves lol

  16. I'd definitely recommend grabbing a rock type. sudowoodo are a good choice, and you can find bonsly in obsidia park

as for grinding, go back to the place you rescued victoria. the unown give tons of exp. and there's no risk of encountering rock types.

  17. honestly, same. as much as I adored ashi and her character, this ending pretty much stuck to the theme season five's had, and it really shows the whole "no gains without losses" thing well (plus the disappearing sequence really reminded me of pokemon mystery dungeon, so I can always imagine that one day he goes on a quest and restores her to existence :P)

although I cried, it was awesome. 10/10 would watch again

Hello!  I attached a little photoshop work.  I want that team to be my in-game team eventually.  Steel types are my favorite, and I think this would provide an awesome playthrough.

Now, I'm kinda new to reborn, so I'm not sure where I can get all these pokemon.  However, I'd like to get this team as early as I can.  I've heard scyther is hard to get, and its my favorite pokemon.  Any help would be appreciated.  Note that idc about nature (although putting them all adamant might save me the hastle) , ev's, or ability since I can eventually change all those.  I do wish that the IVs are above average atleast.  Thanks for the help! 7sfCMjT.jpg

    Game.rxdata

mmkay, since all of these pokemon are definitely available at some point in the game (with the exception of scyther), I only added scyther to your file. the rest you'll have to find :P (this thread'll be a huge help http://www.rebornevo.com/forum/index.php?/topic/16407-pokémon-location-guide-v3-episode-16/)
