  1. Hi, guys!

So, I decided to do a new playthrough of Reborn for Ep18 and totally not because my hard drive gave out and took my old save down with it.

In any case, I don't mind very much. After all, re-experiencing the game sounds like a pretty good idea, to be honest. There's just one thing, however: I would very much like to be able to play through it with a Skarmory, as selfish (and probably stupid) as it may be. It's kind of my signature pokemon of sorts.

That said, would anyone be kind enough to give me a spare they have lying around? Literally any Skarmory is okay, I just really want one.

PS: Also, pardon my selfishness but I really don't have anything to offer in exchange this early into the game.

    PS: Got one!

  2. Hey guys!

So, I'm new to this game so I haven't gotten very far. Still, I found something worth mentioning:

You know those Audino Trainers? Well, the one in Celeste City only has Pound and Healing Wish on his Audinos. Anyway, I found out that when facing a ghost-type Pokémon (such as a Duskull or Shuppet from Weeping Depths and Weeping Hill respectively), his Pokémon will immediately use Healing Wish, giving you a free KO.

So, how did I abuse this? Well, I always start off with my ghost-type then switch out immediately. Then when the next Audino comes up, I go back to my ghost then rinse and repeat. It's a neat little trick to grind your Pokémon.

Anyways, I'm not sure if all Audino Trainers have the same moveset which means that it might not work everytime but still, it's worth a try whenever you see an Audino Trainer.

If El would be droped becouse of ties to meteor, so should be lin. Also i dunno about fighting 2 elite 4 that would probably share same field effect (garden).

To be fair, laura never struck me as Elite 4 material. I mean, durning meteor attack, sapphira seemsed much more usefull than her, even though she "just" a gym leader.

She even loses to sigmunt (she was attacked instead of her pokemon, but still).
I don't know, i always feel that she wasn't really that strong, and got E4 title only becouse of her parents or something (I think we hear in game that inherit her title or am i wrong?)

Well, Lin was never said to be an E4 member, she's just "that one boss". But I agree, Laura has to pick up some slack if they want to convince us she's an E4 member

  4. Spoiler

    10: Vikavolt

    9: Luxray

    8: Crobat

    7: Metagross

    6: Zekrom

    5: Aggron

    4: Talonflame

    3: Greninja

    2: Aegislash

    1: Skarmory

    >Okay, I guess this one actually deserves explanation. It all started back in Pokémon Emerald when, I got wiped by a random trainer with a Skarmory (I WAS A KID DON'T JUDGE ME). Anyways, both its performance and appearance appealed to me so I went and looked for one. And then I used it as one of my core combatants as an offensive Pokémon. I know, stupid move, but it worked well until it didn't. Suddenly, it just sucked so I decided to study it. And THAT's when I learned that Pokémon didn't only involve spamming the highest-powered attacks you had (again, I WAS IN THIRD GRADE AT THE TIME, I WAS STUPID). That was when I decided to incorporate setups, status effects, and healers into my strategy.

So, in conclusion: Besides its design (because I really do like it), what made me love Skarmory is that it's what taught me about the strategic element of Pokémon. Now, when I play with my less-educated friends, I can stall them till kingdom come and I never would've studied that shit if it weren't for Skarmory.

Well then... This list is basically all Steel, Electric, or Flying-types (except number 3)

  5. What I had a lot of trouble with was the battle against Noel. Even with a Burning Field and two fire-types to use it, I still had a hard time.

As for Shelly, I see why it can be hard. That's why what I did was use Espurr to Fake Out on her Rain Dance setter. Then I quickly fired off a Flame Burst from the Growlithe I got from the Beryl Ward incident.

Generally speaking, my gym teams are tailor-made for a certain gym with a very specific strategy in mind so I ended up spending lots of time training up ALL my mons in rotation and because of this approach, I have a LOT of them.

ill be online here for a good while, send me a message when your on so we can do the trade. ~

Hey there, really sorry about this. Anyway, it looks like we'll have to coordinate our schedules if we're gonna go through with this.

  8. Alright, great guide! However, there is something to note about the Goldenleaf Gym: If you look closely, you'll see seemingly-insignificant objects on the walls, usually near doors. Those are in fact torches/braziers. What I did is go to whichever torch is lit (with a blue flame). If it's next to a door, then go through that door. Just look for and follow the torches and you should get through. DO NOT GO THROUGH DOORS WITHOUT LIT TORCHES

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply. Anyways, I still have a lot of them left. Just send me a request, Online ID: Stark. Also, send me a PM beforehand.

Guys, this is the single greatest trading thread I have ever laid my eyes on. I guess I can say it's...

    gr8 m8 I r8 8/8

Enjoy your offspring of Empress Smooze the Third.  Thanks for the Shiny Sword and good luck cleaning out your boxes.

Thanks! (Though I'll probably end up using it as [pretty valuable] trade material too :P)

I'll help out, if you don't mind taking one of my leftovers (it's still 5 IV, just not the kind I wanted)

Alright then. I can give you the shiny one I just hatched. Anyway, my username's Stark (as you probably already know)

  14. So, I decided to try out a foreign concept to me: IV breeding. I was not prepared for how many spare 'mons I would end up with.

So yeah, I do mean "giveaway". Literally give me anything at all. Just tell me if you're interested.

Note: these are just spares so don't expect good IVs. It's up to you to breed the ever-living hell out of them.

  15. I can give you a newly-hatched gastly and honedge (for breeding purposes. IV breeding would be up to you). Just PM me when you will be available if you're interested. Don't worry, I'm not looking for anything. Just give me whatever if you want.

  16. Okay, I get where you're coming from. However, let me just list down some problems with this:

    1. Not everyone online is a battling ace. You could possibly pick up a gimmicky moveset that doesn't work so well.

    2. EVs and IVs. Those things can drastically alter the role of a Pokémon.

    3. Individual player styles. What good is a moveset if you don't know how to use it? Some people work well with certain styles (all-out offense, status conditions, entry hazards, etc.)

    4. The nature of this game means that no single moveset is guaranteed effectiveness. It also depends heavily on the Pokémon you have.

Ultimately, this all depends on a player's personal decision-making so if I were you, I'd build my own movesets to adapt to my style.

HOWEVER, I'm not saying this won't work, I'm just saying you have to think real hard about the movesets you'll decide to use. If you find one that you like, then go for it.
