Technically, the pronoun "he" doesn't always have to be male. If you do not the gender of who or what you are talking about it IS grammatically ok to just say "he, him, etc." as a kind of shortened of version of saying "He or her, his or hers, etc." Since Pokemon DO have genders (the ones we are referring to anyway) then it is more correct to say "he" than "it." for a Pokemon that does not have a gender, then you would say "it" or whatever the hell people say these days.

Mhm, it's really correct. It just makes me wonder why I'm almost always only seeing he, him, and his. My guess would be they're using their own gender, and that's good, but then that also implies something very sad...

I think most people find using 'it' to be a little too cold to use. And I think there was some study about using he/she for different things that could be either or genderless has to do with them associating it with what they're familiar with. So guys will often use he and girls will often use she in those situations.

Yea, I usually only say "it" when I'm talking to people who know I'm just saying that like you would say for a baby who's gender you don't know. X3 I was thinking the same thing about guys and girls, but like I said above, that would mean I'm a very lonely Pokemon player for being a girl... Being here helps, though. I've seen quite characters on Reborn who are real life females. I have a friend who's female and likes Pokemon, and made another female friend when I came here, and we've talking ever since.

  2. Obvi, Pokemon are usually 50/50 male or female. Some have no gender. But, half or more of everybody online I see says "he" when they're talking about a species of Pokemon.

Example, a thread is titled "Is Absol competitive in meta game now?"

Half or more of the replies: "No, he's-, Yes he's-, Well, he could be-", etc. Sometimes, I don't find a single reply that -doesn't- say "he". I can't remember a time I ever saw "she".

Genders aren't important to me. People can call things whatever gender. But, when there's 25+ pages of comments with nothing but "he" instead of "it, he/she, they", etc., I just gotta wonder what it means. I'm so curious. I don't judge people. It's not fair to say "All these people think males are better." Of course, I wonder if some of them think that way. But, I don't assume it unless I know.

So, I guess I just wanna know if anybody else wonders why too. Of course I'd feel sad if many really thought females are more boring, but there's no way to really know whether that's true or not, right?

What do they call Lilligant?... Do they strain harder and harder as they try to type a female pronoun, ground shaking like an earthquake more and more, before finally the poster just...explodes?

  3. • Lusamine was stuck with grief and worry for her husband while it seemed her own kids were drifting away from her, not that they would ever purposely wish hard things on her, but of course this event only made things worse. On top of this stress, and who knows what other problems Lusamine had, a mysterious being infected her mind with a toxin which altered her mental state 10 fold. While she still had free will, of course not even her overwhelming problems would have caused her to say and do the things she did while under this poison. It was obviously the toxin that alerted her to think this way, a true showing of her strength and good will. Once the toxin was free from her, she instantly came back to her senses, loving her family, her friends, and the world again. She then went to rest and recover from everything, the poison no longer there to cloud her true, loving spirit. •

Disclaimer: Drawing isn't my calling. If a hobby can go pro, I'm just a pro doodler. And yes, I draw paws on humans and alter noses and such - why not replace them with something actually cute? c:

I already wrote enough text blocks in this thread, so I'll just explain this real quick. I made this doodle to show I got passed a little problem I had. I'll write out things that might be hard to read. I decided to use a semi-cartoony realism style for this set. So, obvi, this takes place after Lusamine goes back to heal. The other character is me.

Hello. It's nice to meet you, Lusamine. I've been a fan of you ever since I found out about you a long time ago. (Yep, forget to introduce yourself, and just keep taking.)

    KkckzOD.jpg

Well, long story short, somebody met with me, who said she was your doctor. She said you were healing from something that happened to you.

    qNdVatg.jpg

She said you were ok, but still recovering and said you could use a therapy cat, dog, or kid. I then said it sounds fun to be a therapy kid, and she said she would take me with her to check up on you, and that I should be your therapy kid.

    c7LEW6M.jpg

Of course I said I would love to, if you're not busy. I would just be a little company for here or when you're out. The doctor said having a nice kid around could help you heal. That's why I knocked on your door in case your (head) is a little sensitive, heh. If you still needed to do some things to care for yourself, I can let the doctor know, and I can come back later to check on you.

    Dz233el.jpg

I don't think I'll be needing any therapeutic assistance, but I can tell your tummy is swarming with butterflies, so how about 10 minutes of looking into your dear Lusamine's eyes~

10 long minutes go by fast when they're awesome.

  4. Sugar Pea Baby is now an official team member of the Pokemon Spork team! Ideas for places, events, storyline and anything else is now my real little job in the game-making, so I'll now be posting here with little updates on little ideas I'm working on in the game.

    = u =

A toast to Spork and fabulous fashion! Raise your cup or whatever's in your hand or your favorite thing nearby!

    -Raises even smaller little sissy.-

So, here's my first update of Spork. The plans I'm working on now include a harder difficulty version of Spork with level-capped gym battles where you can't use items or switch Pokemon ahead of your opponent, just like battling a trainer in a battle foundation or p2p play. So, it's more challenge without unnecessary, unfun made-up stuff like "slower egg growth" or anything like that.

I'll be back with more new yummy meatballs soon!

Only Steel and Fairy moves become Normal, Steel and Fairy type Pokemon do not mysteriously lose their typing.

As for topic, honestly I'm all for more options to set field effects that don't have a method to set them yet, as well as help with maintaining them. Porygon line with Conversion seem like a good method to go about setting Glitch Field, too.

Dark type should also be set to Normal type. c:

You could also take an AMD-CPU, even though they're inferior to Intel's according to many. AMD cpu's are a lot cheaper, so you could probably get a better performing cpu for that same price. And motherboard goes for the same price I assume.

For the copy of windows: I built my pc last summer and I bought a windows 10 professional key for approx. 30 euros at kinguin.net or something like that. And of course, you would need a keyboard and mouse, but you can just get them for cheap

That sounds really good. For everything, it would probably be only $250 or so considering one of my old usb keyboards and a mouse already here should communicate with it. c:

you could get away with a pre-built pc but you might still find performance issues with a budget of $200 since lower end pre-built pcs are basically trash cans

i'll edit this later if i can come up with a decent and budget pc build for you, and building a pc isn't hard at all

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8bBVf8 here's what I came up with, it's ~$230 but you're getting intel hd 510 graphics which should be fine for reborn and other 2d games along with 4gb of ram; this is not including a copy of windows though

what I want to know is what are your current pc's specs are, cpu, gpu, and how many gb of ram?

Thanks for doing this! Maybe someday in not too long, I could get this exact build. It's more than worth it. c:

Yea, I wish I did have a system to compare. The phone I'm using is inhereted from somebody who cracked the screen. My best base is a tablet with an old external keyboard attached. cx

    Is Reborn demanding?? Since when?

Anyway, on topic: you might want to consider building one yourself. That doesn't have to be expensive and you can fully equip/assemble it to your liking. Plus, it's very easy.  (all this assuming you want a pc, not a laptop)

Reborn actually has minor lagging issues on bigger computers 'cause the programming it runs on is bulky. On the wrong computer, Reborn can have serious lag issues or barely run at all. cx I've never built a pc before, but I can try it as long as it doesn't add up to $200+ when all I really need the computer for right now is internet and playing 2D games like Reborn.

  9. I think the universe is maybe telling me I shouldn't get a computer yet, but I'm sure I can have one later if not super soon. I know Reborn is demanding no matter the computer, but I'm hoping to find a computer that isn't high-end, but will still run the game full speed. I've googled a lot, and it's hard to find computer advice on one single pokemon fan game that is updated regularly anyhow. Maybe some people here know some not-too-pricey computer examples from testing or knowledge of the game? Thankie! <3

  10. There's a saying that explains something we all know in our hearts, even if our brains forgot.

"The universe will never give you something you can’t handle. Our challenges are proportionate to our ability to overcome."

I don't watch any animes, but that thought + this clip pretty much sums up how I can do anything, no matter how long it takes me!

    Happy New Year! c:

  11. Welcome to Reborn!

  12. You made your intro thread :D

I'm honored to be the first to welcome you to Reborn. Here's an ice cream sandwich. Also *pats your head*

Yaaaay. I did it. I was hoping I did good. Icecream and witch pats.

    > w < <3

Welcome to the Forums! Congratulations on helping so much on Spork and I hope to be able to meet you soon on the showdown server. Have a great day!

Oh, and apparently you like pats sooo *pats head*

Ooo, I made a showdown buddy?? Ok, I hope I can meet you there soon too. *leans head to head pats*

    . u .

So you're working on Spork eh? Well from one developer to another,

Welcome to Reborn's Incredible Interstellar Forum!

Kewl, game maker fistbump. I'm ready to join in, yae.

Yo, welcome to the forums :P

well usually I have a gif with someone waving hello but since u like head pats I figure I could get one like that then I found this

So enjoy a cat head patting another cat gif :P

Kitties! I've actually been head-patted by a kitty before, ehe.
  13. Hi-jacking someone else's thread to say 'hey, I'm new here too' is pretty much a no-no, as it's kind of disrespectful, you know? I wouldn't want someone to interrupt my introductory speech at a ceremony to give their own without even letting me finish, and I'm sure you wouldn't like it, either, yeah?

  14. (Check out the tags in this intro thread. This next part between ~'s is from my profile. I'll keep updating as I think of more to add.)

    ~

    Basics:

    101% feminine kiddu

    ---

    all extrovert all the time

    ---

    Explorer/Runner Jumper Squirmer/Player of Games

    ---

    Keeper of a Piece

    About Me:

My profile avatar gives a good idea of who I am. I go by many names and nicknames like Kirbie and Lily. Obviously, I'm here 'cause I like pokemon and stuff. I'm a skinny little puff, but I'm all about that bass 'cause that's how I like my music and heavy weapons in games and adventures (I'm good at exploring and blowing things up with good aim.). I'm permanently a kid at heart and soul in every way. I'm only interested in the more immature things like sugar and playing. I'm not interested in anything grownup like overly dark things or sex. This is why I seem very shy even though I'm 100% extroverted when in comes to social things. So, it's not an awkward shyness, just a defense mechanism. I actually love myself, so I'm never uncomfortable with who I am. I know I'm an adorable little cherub, and I love how happy it makes everyone around me. I'm preparing for my next big adventure, so I'll keep in touch while I'm out and about on the quests.

    ~

So, that's all I have for now on me. Now, on to what I'm bringing here to Reborn! I'm Ice Cream Sand Witch's side kick in the making of Pokemon Spork. We're tight as can be, and I've been her little helper on the game since the beginning of development. My job is basically idea support and helping with the lifelike stuff, like the environments and overall mechanical ideas like the EV training rooms. I'm really excited with all the good feedback on the game.

I'll just take off my fluffy hat now, 'cause head pat donations to me are squee fuel, so have at it! *imaginary tail wags and ear flattening*
