  1. So, I just got to

    Spoiler

the part where you meet Adrienn in the ruins,

...and apparently, the dialogue of other characters still goes based off of your sprite, and not the gender you entered on your ticket. It actually took this long for the player character to be referred to by a pronoun! XD

EDIT: Looking in the debug menu, I found both a variable for the player's gender selection (with 0, 1, and 2 being m, f, and nonbinary respectively), ~and~ a switch called "Player is F." Is the second one something I need to activate, or can I just set the first one and call it a day?

  2. ...You know. There's six possible protagonists, only one of which survives the crash. It's possible that Shade was there to ~catch his team for the League~, tipped off by some kind of sense for impending deaths.

That's my theory -- the five protagonists you didn't choose are ghosts on Shade's gym team! XD

    And the sixth...

    [clicks on flashlight]

    would have been you!!

Could also be why he's 'watching over you' at certain points. Waiting for you to bite it so he can finish his team, and then

    Spoiler

    Corey obliges first. >_>

  3. *Shroomish/Breloom not available* Ame why? Breloom was the one Mon I was looking forward to the most :(

Interesting field, though. Expecting legendary battles now?

You can catch Shroomish on that island that you rescue Cain from, between Apophyll Academy and Reborn City. I assume that you'll still be able to keep your Shroomish when updating to E16.

  4. I play the game on Dropbox, where the main game folder resides. Though every time I change computer I have to manually put the save file into the Dropbox and put it on the other computer to continue the game.

So you can just put the game folder on a USB and play it from there, but you'll have to copy the save file from said computer to continue off of that save.

Install Reborn on every machine (or run it from a USB), and then set your save file folder as your dropbox folder in the dropbox app. Save should sync every time it's updated.

  5. Said deck I played was very heavy on Dark Magician/Dark Magician Girl, and the summoning thereof. Magician's Circle could summon Dark Magician Girl (since she doesn't go over 2,000 ATK until she actually hits the field and her effect activates), and Sage's Stone would allow her to summon Dark Magician from pretty much anywhere, as long as she was on the field. I would do silly things like Magickal Dimension a Dark Magician after it attacks, to replace it with a second from my hand, who could then declare his own attack. I had to rely on things like Divine Wrath to plug up the holes in my lockdown where sneaky Effect Monsters could get in and burn my Secret Village, but no deck is perfect :P

A pair of Dark Magicians was my favourite summoning tribute for Sorcerer of Dark Magick, who required a tribute of two Lv. 6 or higher spellcasters to summon -- as the Dark Magicians in the graveyard would increase Dark Magician Girl's ATK. I would often have three or more set spell or trap cards, with my tendency to use Magickal Dimension and Divine Wrath, so my favourite ATK buff was Mage Power.

  6. I enjoy spellcasters and spellcaster-themed things. ~nodnod~

I never was able to put together a Spellbook deck due to financial limitations and certain cards being super-spensive, but I did have a very classic deck based on Magician's Valkyria, Secret Village of the Spellcasters, and Sorcerer of Dark Magick.

Then I had my Gravekeeper deck, which made the opponent mill a card for every time they declared an attack, and dealt damage for every card sent to the graveyard to be permanently locked away in the Necrovalley.

And my Endymion deck, with spell counters galore. Breakers, Defenders, and Royal Magickal Libraries abound. Tempest Magician would detonate all the spell counters for direct damage.

I think my favourite card would have to have been Magickal Dimension, though. It was so versatile! It could be used for monster destruction, as a summoning aid, used during the battle phase to declare one more attack than your opponent thought you could, or even chained on an opponent's monster destruction effect to cause it to have an irrelevant target! And because you don't have to choose whether or not to destroy a monster until it resolves, it didn't actually "target" a monster -- not even the one you sacrificed to cast it.

EDIT: Also, given the tags on the thread are already decidedly Abridged, may I suggest also adding "Motorcycles" as a tag? And card games thereupon. ~nodnod~

  7. Hi! As you may know, I'm kind of the new girl here. Having only ever played Episode 15, I've been wondering...

Does each new episode add to the end of the story? Or am I missing some story for not having played the previous games?

If the former is the case, will I be able to continue with my current save file from Episode 15? If it's the latter, are there download links available for previous episodes?

  8. Loss is the only thing she can't feel?

I realize it may not be the same, but I play a character in an RP setting who's the archetypal assassin-slave, incapable of ~any~ sort of emotion at all due to harsh, horrific training and years of indoctrination and dehumanization. She was originally created for a d20 system game, and 'I am a weapon, not a person' had been her mantra since character creation. She's interesting to portray, because a lot of the things we ~say~ and take for granted as part of the social contract imply emotion that my character couldn't understand having, so she would balk at saying them. Things as simple as "it's a pleasure to meet you" become fraught with questions, because... well, it ~isn't~ a pleasure for her to meet you. Or anyone. It isn't painful for her to meet someone either, even though she assassinated the person's lover last week.

When those kinds of situations come up in your novel, say, another character is grieving and expects the main character to grieve too. Does she say "I'm sorry," "I'll miss her," etc, even though she isn't and she won't, just to appease the social contract? Does she take a more pragmatic viewpoint, and admonish the character for not being able to move on? Does she falter in her indecision? Does she start to lock away her other emotions, too?

That's a thing that may well happen. She locks away her guilt at her inability to feel loss, and then with no guilt to guide her, she does more and more reprehensible things. People begin to shun her because she's become kind of an ass, so she locks away her anger at the people she feels abandoned her. One emotion at a time, she locks them away as the frayed ends of a system that's missing a piece, until suddenly she realizes they're all gone. Kind of a depressing story, but it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility.
