Cofagrigus is a solid trick room setter in a game where trick room makes almost every boss fight at least 5x easier, even if you don't have a dedicated TR team, and will-o/hex combo will get rid of any phys threat easily. Toss in pain split and you've got yourself a monster.
If you can get a good natured one and you're willing to go through the trouble of EV training it (at least in speed), Crustle can act as an excellent Shell Smash sweeper and destroy entire teams on its own.
Sudowoodo is amazing early game thanks to sturdy + counter (easiest way to beat Solaris' garchomp at Mt.Apophyll if you want the bonus money) and remains a pretty good mon throughout the adventure thanks to good physical offense, a pretty good movepool and solid defense.
All of these are pretty easy to obtain, unlike most of the mons mentioned in this thread. Not everyone wants to go through tedious sidequests just for one pokemon, ya know ?

I tried checking the fountain in north peridot when it was rainy, but no dice.

Terra cause her team is too stronkThat girl that jumped down the waterfall, I don't like whiny people

Alright, then here are some of my ideas :
Puddlil (Puddle + Little), the Mud Puddle Pokemon
I haven't drawn/sprited it yet, but think of a circle with cylindrical arms and legs and the whole covered in mud.
Ground
Dry Skin/Water Absorb
Hidden Ability : Gooey
For the stats, there's a twist, cause the pokemon has two formes with different stats, the Mud forme and the Dry forme. The forme he starts with depends on where you catch it, but battling with it under rain makes him change to Mud forme and battling under Harsh Sun or Sandstorm changes him to Dry forme. Puddlil-Dry looks like Puddlil-Mud, except his skin is covered in cracked ground instead of mud.
Puddlil-Mud
HP : 75
ATK : 35
DEF : 40
SPATK : 65
SPDEF : 80
SPEED : 30
Puddlil-Dry
HP : 30
ATK : 65
DEF : 80
SPATK : 35
SPDEF : 40
SPEED : 75
Moveset :
Start Mud-Slap
Start Growl
Lv. 5 Harden
Lv. 9 Mud Shot
Lv. 12 Mud Sport
Lv. 17 Water Gun
Lv. 21 Sludge
Lv. 28 Bulldoze
Lv. 33 Muddy Water
Lv. 37 Rain Dance
Lv. 41 Mud Cannon (Signature move of his evolutionary line, Special Ground-Type move with 110 base power, 80 accuracy, chances of lowering speed or accuracy)
Puddlil-Mud evolves into Mudolem (Mud + Golem) starting at level 30 and Puddlil-Dry evolves into Sandster (Sand + Monster) starting at level 30.
Mudolem, the Mud Giant Pokemon
For the appearance the upper body is kinda human-like and covered in mud but the lower body is completely made of mud, think Grimer-like appearance for the lower body.
Ground
Swift Swim/Water Absorb
Hidden Ability : Drizzle
Mudolem :
HP : 110
ATK : 40
DEF : 65
SPATK : 130
SPDEF : 90
SPEED : 50
Moveset :
Start Mud Cannon
Lv 30 Mud Bomb
Lv 37 Muddy Water
Lv 42 Rain Dance
Lv 51 Mud Cannon
Lv 56 Recover
Sandster, the Sand Predator Pokemon
Sandster has a human-like body with sand blades instead of hands, rocks scattered in his body and a sharp, triangle shaped head.
Ground
Dry Skin/Sand Force
Hidden Ability : Sand Stream
Sandster :
HP : 50
ATK : 130
DEF : 90
SPATK : 40
SPDEF : 65
SPEED : 110
Moveset :
Start Earthquake
Lv 30 Rock Slide
Lv 37 Iron Head
Lv 42 Sandstorm
Lv 51 Earthquake
Lv 56 Swords Dance
Moving on to the next evolutionary line !
Shangolin (Shell + Pangolin), the Tough Hide Pokemon
Shangolin is basically a Pangolin with minor alterations, kinda like rattata is basically a purple rat :v
Normal
Sturdy/Run Away
Hidden Ability : Filter
Shangolin:
HP : 45
ATK : 55
DEF : 105
SPATK : 10
SPDEF : 65
SPEED : 60
Moveset :
Start Defense Curl

Lv. 4 Growl
Lv. 7 Protect
Lv. 10 Rapid Spin
Lv. 13 Rollout
Lv. 16 Bite
Lv. 19 Iron Defense
Lv. 22 Metal Claw
Lv. 25 Slash
Lv. 28 Roar
Lv. 31 Body Slam
Lv. 34 Rolling Shield (Signature move of his evolutionnary line, works like Protect but if it blocks a contact move, speed raises by 2 stages)
Shangolin evolves into Armordillo, the Steel Shell Pokemon
Armordillo is a Armadillo with a huge sheel made of steel plates but small head and leg/feet, and his tail has a wrecking ball at the end of it, like an ankylosaurus.
Normal/Steel
Sturdy/Shell Armor
Hidden Ability : Filter
Armordillo :
HP : 80
ATK : 75
DEF : 190
SPATK : 15
SPDEF : 85
SPEED : 75

Awwww yiss
Delibird :
Type : Ice/Flying => Ice/Flying
Vital Spirit/Hustle => Adaptability/Hustle
HA : Insomnia => HA : Snow Warning
HP : 45 -> 55
Attack : 55 -> 105
Defense : 45 -> 35
SpAtk : 65 -> 40
SpDef : 45 -> 70
Speed : 75 -> 120
BST : 330 -> 425
Moveset :
+ Growl (Level 5)
+ Peck (Level 8)
+ Icicle Spear (Level 14)
+ Aerial Ace (Level 21)
+ Sludge (Level 28)
+ Ice Punch (Level 35)
+ Icicle Crash (Level 43)
+ Gunk Shot (Level 51) (So no need for move tutor)
+ Brave Bird (Level 60)
+ Swords Dance ( TM )
+ Drain Punch ( TM )
A lot of much-needed buffs that will make Delibird finally become the powerhouse it should always have been :3
I also added some moves to make leveling easier cause Present only is a little bit bare bones.
The next one isn't totally serious, but it could be funny :3
Metapod :
Type Bug => Bug
Shed Skin => Shed Skin
HA : Nothing => HA : Heatproof
HP : 50 => 90
Attack : 20 => 40
Defense : 55 => 125
SpAtk : 25 => 25
SpDef : 25 => 65
Speed : 30 => 15
BST : 205 => 360
+ Tackle (Start, 7)
+ String Shot (Start, 7)
+ Protect (Start, 7)
+ Iron Defense (11)
+ Bug Bite (14)
+ Struggle Bug (21, TM)
+ Seismic Toss (28, TM)
+ Recover (34)
+ Counter (47)
+ Iron Head (52)
+ Dragon Tail (61)
A massive overhaul to change Metapod from a useless intermediary stage between Caterpie and Butterfree into a decent Physical Wall. It gets access to reliable ways to do damage even with his pitiful offensive stats through Seismic Toss and Counter, reliable recovery with... recover and even Dragon Tail to prevent sweepers to set up on him with Swords Dance, Dragon Dance, etc...
Kakuna :
Type Bug/Poison => Bug/Poison
Shed Skin => Shed Skin
HA : Nothing => HA : Poison Point
HP : 45 => 85
Attack : 25 => 40
Defense : 50 => 65
SpAtk : 25 => 25
SpDef : 25 => 125
Speed : 35 => 20
BST : 205 => 360
+ Poison Sting (Start, 7)
+ String Shot (Start, 7)
+ Protect (Start, 7)
+ Toxic (11)
+ Bug Bite (14)
+ Poison Drench (21)
+ Seismic Toss (28, TM)
+ Recover (34)
+ Mirror Coat (47)
+ Poison Fang (52)
+ Dragon Tail (61)
Basically the same as Metapod except for a Specially Defensive Wall with a few differences in moveset and stats.

Here's an Idea I had for a late game trainer :3
Hiker (if there's a snow version of hiker, then make it that instead) Johann
- Delibird (Lv 30)
- Beartic (Lv 70, Swift Swim + Rain dance, Weakness policy)
Opening : You think you can take Delibird on ?
Closing : But... Delibird...
And if possible, have an additional message when sending Beartic (kinda like a rival or gym leader down to their last pokemon) : "You'll regret hurting Delibird !"
-
Yo,
Are you looking for more fakemon ideas, or are the starters the only planned fakemons ?
-
Would you like some Ideas for fakemon ? I have quite a few but I don't plan on making a game, so I'd be happy to share
As for spriting, I guess I could give it a try even tho I'm not the best, especially when it comes to trainer sprites.
-
My favorite pokemon game is PMD2 (altho PMD comes as a close second).
-
Well, Delphox's SpAtk, while good, isn't exceptional (114) so if it was bad natured, it explains why you had so much trouble
For other people looking to take on this gym, catching a Klink/Magnemite in Shade's gym is also an option cause the field boosts Mirror Shot (not sure Klink learns it, tho) by a lot.
-
For me, the Mirror Gym was actually one of the easiest, second only to the Chess one (that I cleared on my first try). Remember, the mirrors reflect all the special moves so they can never miss (if a Special Move misses, the mirror reflects it, gives it a 1.5x power boost and makes it hit anyways); Just get a fast fire type (you can get Pansear uner Opal Bridge when it's raining) and spam Flamethrower/Heatwave/Flame Burst !
-
I got another !
During the gym battle against Noel, if you set the field on fire (with Heat Wave or Flame Burst for example) and then win, Anna will have a bit of a different dialogue, some of the grass around the house will disappear and some backstory about Charlotte will be revealed (how she burned the house with her Vulpix when she was young and that's what killed her parents).
Where to find nature mints ?

Where can you find nature mints in the game ? I have a lax mint in my bag but I cannot remember at all where I got it. I'm looking for a brave mint, and I'm before radomus. Is there a way to get them ?
