    I'm confused about chara. So Chara fused with Frisk's body. So did Chara not have a soul? And is the soul used in battle Frisk's?

      It was mostly a possession, I suppose.

      No ones one hundred percent sure, but from what I can understand, Chara was buried at the place where Frisk fell which somehow allowed them to merge. Much like how He died in the throne room and was revived as Your Best Friend, the location of the body determined how the consciousness worked. Chara is a part of Frisk, but is only able to "come out" by gaining Love.
