  1. I started it on Episode 16, even cleared all remaining E15 saves (moved them to a different location).

You are right. I did not see the one save that I do have with two badges. Some testing concludes taht this savefile gets overwritten and renamed whenever I save again, making it a constant "most recent backup".
However, thanks to Shadowsusanoo I have found the problem. Apparently I have accidentaly set the No of backup files to 1 while rummaging through the menu.

    Thanks for the help, guys.

  2. Hello,
Recently I started a new game of reborn and I planned on finding all five policemen before doing the thing  before you can challenge Corey. I failed and wanted to reload the last backup only to see my folder looking like this:

    cbae4af245.png

While this is my ingame trainer card:
    d7bbae354c.png

You see there are about 10 hours of backup saves missing. How can I resolve that problem?

oh, and the backups are activated via menu.

    sincerely,

    Cassius

  3. Goodbye, post #300.

A mono-Fire team shouldn't be excessively reliant on Solarbeam, especially when you're only letting two or three Pokemon use it. It's more of a liability in some cases, especially against Pokemon such as Drizzle Politoed, Tyranitar, and Hippowdon. Predicting Solarbeam on their switch utterly spells death for your sun setter, so HP Grass, or in Ninetales' case Energy Ball, is more consistent and reliable.

As for the three Pokemon you mentioned, all are viable Choice users, but I'd recommend against a Choice Scarf Infernape and opt for either Choice Band or Life Orb, since while there are no full counters to as to what the monkey can do, mono-Fire teams generally appreciate as much damage output from it as possible. That said, a physically offensive set, particularly CB, can work with a set like this:

    Infernape @ Choice Band/Life Orb

    Jolly Nature

    252 Attack/4 Def/252 Speed

    Iron Fist

    Flare Blitz

    Close Combat

    U-Turn/Thunder Punch

    Mach Punch

I'll let the set speak for itself.

As for the other two, the set you want to run is largely dependent on fixed team composition; both are preferably Choice Scarfed, but can also run Choice Specs/Band. Rotom-H can also run a more defensively-orientated set. I'll give you all the options, but considering you have sun, I'll only give Scarf Darmanitan.

    Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf

    Jolly Nature

252 Attack/4 Def/252 Speed (make sure the HP is even to reduce SR damage)

    Sheer Force

    Flare Blitz

    U-Turn

    Rock Slide

    Superpower

    Rotom-H @ Choice Specs/Choice Scarf

    Timid Nature

252 Special Attack/4 Def/252 Speed (again odd HP)

    Levitate

    Overheat

    Volt Switch

    Trick

    Hidden Power Ice/Grass/Will-O-Wisp

    OR

Rotom-H @ Leftovers or Assault Vest (the former is better though)

    Timid/Bold Nature

    248 HP/8 Special Attack/252 Speed with Timid or 248 HP/252 Def/8 Speed with Bold

    Levitate

    Overheat

    Volt Switch

    If Lefties: Will-O-Wisp/Thunder Wave

    Pain Split/Rest

If AV: Hidden Power Ice/Hidden Power Grass

    Thunderbolt

    Thanks again.

I know about Hippodown, Politoed and Tyranitar and the danger they pose against my team.

I'll try to switch Ninetails for Rotom-H and Camerupt for Life orb Infernape. however the minimal speed stats on Torkoal and Camerupt where pretty nice against a Trick room strategx one oponent tried to use.

I just want to contest something that's been mentioned, that Torkoal is outclassed by Moltres/Tran in mono fire

While it's true that in general play, Torkoal has absolutely no niche in OU, mono fire is a whole different story. Torkoal is fire's best answer to SR, defog Moltres/Char just can't come in as freely as Torkoal can to remove rocks. You end up with a team that gets controlled by SR, which is something you desperately want to avoid.

    YES! YES! YES!

Groundwork for an argumentation. I have not seen anything 2HKO Torkoal, that wasn't boosted in any way

  4. Soooo, Thanks for the answers.

First: Yes, this is a competitive monotype, as it has a few things in it that are not currently available in Reborn.

Where did you get volcorona? Because the only way i know to get it is through the mystery egg which has a 1/18 chance in success. A viable substitute would be a typhlosion which you can get at *spoilers*

    For typhlosion maybe...

    - Eruption
    - Extrasensory
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Blast

You are obviously going to teach some of them solar beam as soon as it becomes available right?

Yes, indeed, I did not get a Volcarone from the egg, but instead was blessed with a Drilbur which gave me the much needed advantage over Corey. And also yes, I do have a Typlosion which I run on my Reborn mono fire team as a Fast Special sweeper. I don't have the TM for Earthquacke, which I either missed or did not have the chance to get yet (I am currently residing at Agate Circus)

Considering you're using stuff that aren't available in Reborn in-game yet, I'll assume this is for all-in competitive purposes. That said, I have a lot to ramble about here, but my apologies if you find it a bit inappropriate.

Frankly speaking, this team is...quite undesirable. While I'm unsure as to the limitations of what specific Fire Pokemon such as Talonflame are banned in Monotypes sometimes, you're still missing out on quite the number of important Pokemon that you shouldn't neglect on a Fire run, and opt for inferior options.

While it's nice of you to be wary of keeping hazards away from the field while having hazards of your own, Torkoal is highly outclassed by two Pokemon that can do the respective roles; Heatran, which provides nifty resistances, and, albeit a debatable case, Moltres, which despite having an x4 weakness to Stealth Rock, has much better stats to work with, reliable recovery, and good Speed and offensive presence, as well as an extra immunity to Ground, in which most, if not all, Fire type teams appreciate. Even Infernape can function as a potent hazard lead, but you'd appreciate it's offensive capability more than its utility. I'll get to the specifics of this below.

Moltres can remove entry hazards via Defog and Roost off stray damage, although you'd want to avoid the opponent setting up SR altogether, which is manageable apart from leads such as Custap Berry Skarmory/Forretress, should you lack the aid of Taunt. This can be put on Heatran, that can Taunt all common SR tanks that are slower than it even without significant investment in Speed, while it can also set up Stealth Rock itself. Defensively orientated spreads are desirable, for both, although offensive sets are viable for the two as well.

Ironic as this may sound, if you're still pressed for a physical wall Fire type, you get two options in bulky Mega Charizard X and Defensive Arcanine, that have good bulk, the latter having Intimidate, as well as reliable recovery and Will-O-Wisp. Although they won't hit as hard as you want them to be with the given spreads, their attack stat allows little to compromise for physical damage output.

One of the important things you're missing out on is Rotom-H. I'd go as far as to call it a staple on any serious mono-Fire, given it provides both a Ground immunity and a way to deal with Water types courtesy of Electric STAB. Even better, it can grab momentum with Volt Switch since Fire-type teams tend to be really hyper offensive and can't take hits all the time, but instead rely on sheer offensive pressure. Coming to more important offensive Fire types, let's get back to Infernape. Infernape's Fire/Fighting typing is really important in dealing with Rock-monos as well as other disadvantageous resists; most importantly, it helps to deal with mono-Ground teams where Excadrill can go on a rampage, and priority Mach Punch means Excadrill can't sweep so long as the monkey's around. Infernape's offensive typing and utility also helps in defeating most common Stealth Rock leads, and can also buy momentum in U-Turn.

Using Ninetales along with Mega Charizard Y for consistent sun sustenance is actually more redundant that you'd think, meaning Ninetales may potentially be dead weight most of the time bar heavy weather wars, particularly against teams that have Tyranitar, that can easily strip apart both your Sun users. That said, while sun is a great thing for mono-Fire teams, it doesn't have to be there all the time, if at all. Ditch one or the other, depending on the team you wish to make; if you're lacking a physical attacker, Darmanitan and Emboar, preferably Choice Scarfed ones, as well as Entei, make for good options. Alternatively, you can keep Ninetales and get a Mega Charizard X, running a bulky or pure offensive set. I'm not sure if it's banned, but it's not included in the banlist.

    Ooooookay...

First, I don't find it offensive in any way. keep it going, as this might be a big help, even if it hurts to let some of my favourite mons go :(

I'll read this again a few times and decide try some of these out in a secondary team, to see how it rolls. However I do know of Heatran and that it outclasses Torkoal in any aspect, BUT I actively decided against Legendaries, as I just don't like the whole concept of them (sounds stupid, but I can't help thinking of an overconfident 9 year old when I see legendaries in competitive battle)

I'll try to overcome it, if I feel the necessity.

I am not that sure about the sun, because it is mostly there not because of the 50% boost (Most opponents get OHKOed by a super effective move of any of the mons), but because of the Solar beam.

At the moment I am thinking to switch back to Infernape as my scarfed revenge killer/physical sweeper. I just overlooked the Mach Punch when I first set up a build. Fake out and scarf are not really good friends.

as a matter of fact I will look into Rotom-H, another mon that just slipped over my head probably because of my long absense of the Pokemon world. Same goes for Darmanitan. I did decide aggainst Emboar, as I remember it to be prettty slow from my current reborn playthrough, albeit his Reckless ability paired with the huge pool of recoil moves make it to be a force to be reconed with.

Soo, lastly, I'd like to ask, if you may like to post some sample builds. I am mainly interested in the builds for Darmanitan, Rotom-H and Infernape.

  5. Well, the Title says everything. Basically this is my first competiive Team that doesn't get oblitterated by everything that it has to face. I just wanted to see, how I'd do in a competitive battle and created a Team losely using the HO Tread as a basis. I somehow ended up with a Monotype so I thoght "Hell why not?" and tried it. Next came some fiddling and twiddling and piddling and this is what it currently looks like. I am not entirely satisfied, so I hope for some suggestions.

    Mega Flare:

    324.png38.png6.png637.png59.png323.png

    The Idea:

Well, Basically, what does every Fire type like the most? Right, when It's nice and warm. So Drought Ninetails will make the sun shine while offering some supporting moves from its diversive movepool

    38.png

Now to the main force. Quiver Dance Volcarona and Mega Charizard-Y both have a disastrous Special Attack while offering a nice variety of moves. Also Mega Charizard-Y too has the Ability Drought to keep the sun from setting when the battle lasts a little longer (He's like the Snickers of my Team)

    38.png6.png637.png

So, A pretty solid Special Attacking force, but Oh No! What if I run into a special wall? Well, That's what Arcanine is for. Access to a nice Variety of Physical Moves and a solid Speed make him not only a good physical attacker, but also a great revenge killer. Extreme Speed helps a lot with the latter.

    38.png6.png637.png59.png

Now with the offense taken care of it's time to think about the defense. Because of the Team being all fire types, Stealth Rock is a pretty dangerous thing to have on your side of the field. So we need a defogger or rapid spinner. Because It is crucial for me to always have Stealth rocks on the other side of the field however, I have to go for Rapid spin. And there is no other Fire type than Torkoal, that can learn it.

    324.png38.png6.png637.png59.png
Now to the last Pokemon and the one I feel the most unsatisfied with so far. Camerupt is pretty bulky and has a good Sp Attack. It also learns the Move Stealth Rock, Earth Power and Flash cannon, covering a good amount of weaknesses, while at the same time being pretty resistant to the common counters for fire types.

    Sheila (Torkoal) (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Shell Armor
    EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
    Sassy Nature
    IVs: 0 Spe
    - Stealth Rock
    - Lava Plume
    - Sunny Day
    - Rapid Spin
Usually being the Lead, setting up Stealth Rock and (if taken damage is low enough) Sunny day, before Rapid Spinning away the opponents Hazards. with a still not to underestimate special attack she is able to do some massive damage to some spin blockers while tanking theirs, forcing them to switch out and then spinning anyway.

    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Solar Beam
    - Hypnosis
secondary lead and support she goes in first against Teams that are too dangerous to let them set up. With Drought setting up most of what I need and Will-O-Wisp to cripple physical attackers and Hypnosis to sleep the target her main objective is to give Volcarona time to set up one or two quiver dances. Also perfect lead for setting up against water type monotypes, because of the Sunny Day, Solar Beam combo.

    - Air Slash
    - Fire Blast
    - Solar Beam
    - Dragon Pulse
The Mega of the Team. Fast Special sweeper with Fire Blast and Air Slash as STAB moves and Solar Beam and Dragon Pulse as coverage. probably the most straight forward in the whole team.
    637.png
Mothra (Volcarona) (F) @ Life Orb
    Ability: Flame Body
    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Fiery Dance
    - Giga Drain
    - Quiver Dance
    - Hidden Power [ice]
There is not much to say about Volcarona:
Con: She needs one turn to set up with quiver dance
Pro: after that she just burns through enemy teams like a Flamethrower through paper.
With Fiery Dance as a strong STAB move that further boosts her Special Attack and Giga Drain to restore the HP lost through the Life orb it is difficult to get around her once she got the tempo up. HP Ice is a nice coverage ove to deal with nasty dragon types and Flamebody hopefully cripples any Revenge killer that managed to hit her.

Camerupt. Nice bulk and a good coverage with stone edge and flash cannon. the Passho Berry along with Solid Rock pretty much guarantees her to survive switching into a strong water type move.

    Treads:

Sashed Dragon Dancers, amplyfied by the ability Moxxie.

    Azumarril with sap sipper,

    Aqua Jet.

probably some more, that I am not too well aware of, because of my inexperience.

Well, I'd really like to hear, what you think and how you would improve this Team. I still don't know how serious I want to get into competitive play, but I had fun so far. Also, like I said, this is my first competitive Team, so please go easy on my noobish ass.

  6. As much as I can see how Unown can be labeld the worst Pokemon, I somehow always found it to be a unique quirk in the Gen 2 games. It is (as far as I know) te first Pokemon to have different appearences and I kinda liked the Alph ruin puzzles and all the mistery surrounding them. Also they where practically used to demonstrate the Move Hidden Power.

No, which pokemon I truly despise would be Dunsparce.. sure, It's Stats are not that terrible and It's move pool isn't either, but seriously, What the frick is this thing? why does it have to be that ugly? I mean, Garbador will never win a beauty contest, but this thing has at least some visual qualities to it. But Dunsparce is just so...vacuous...

There is one thing for a pokemon to be ugly or competitively awful, but to be mediocre in any way is what makes you forget it ever existed. that is why Dunsparceis imho the worst Pokemon that ever existed

  7. Cassius Tain, there's nothing wrong with your savefile and from what you mentioned about having used the item once for the FEAR "strat", a Focus Sash is a one-time-use item. After it's been consumed by the Pokémon that was holding said item, it vanishes.

Alternative option for a longer-lasting, but more risky version of the Focus Sash, is the Focus Band, which can be purchased with enough Dept. Store stickers, but only gives you a 10% chance of enduring a fatal attack.

I am sorry, I have seen my mistake now. I confused it for the focus band. I am sorry to have bothered anyone with this uneducated Post of mine

  8. Dear Reborn Wizards

I have seen what you are capable of reading through this here "Un-Stuck Me" Thread. Thing is that I am not exactly stuck but there is still a little something wrong with my savefile, as I am sure that I once had a Focus Sash that was transferred to the PC attached to a Rattata (Yes I used this horrid method once).

It now just so happened that when I wanted to retreive this precious Item in intend to hand it to my Emboar, so that it would be able to withstand an Earthquake by the horrid Tyranitar the Focus Sash seemed to have just vanished.

Now I don't not know when this happened, or how in that matter (Oh maybe this pesky rodent ate it?!) but I would be very grateful if you could maybe help me to regain this Item.

    sincerely,

    Cassius

  9. Hello,

I happened to stumble upon this rather gamebreaking error when I wanted to brag to a friend of mine about those magnificient Fairy type pokemon that I already enslaved. As I was rather far away from the nearest Pokecenter and thus PC I opened the Pokedex and went to the search function.

That was when I had to realize that the Fairy Types where not under the listed types to search for. I was devastated. Please fix this asap

    Yours truly,

    Cassius

PS: well, if it wasn't too obvious, this is a very minor thing and I really don't care, just happened to find it ^^

  10. I reconstructed it as far as I could about what happened before. I am not entirely sure, but I think it did use Trick-or-treat.

After I copypasted this messageand pressed the 'ok' button on the error message window it closed and the fight went on for two or three turns, after which I caught it using a Duskball. nothing out of pace happened.

    Edit:

The chances are high that this was in fact caused by Pumpkaboo using Trick-ortreat, as I was able to recreate this error message using the the attack.

  12. Well, honestly I don't think this question deserves it's own thread, but since I could not find a Q&A Thread here it is.

Given my not finding a Q&A Thread really does mean that there really is none already and not that I am rather incompetent in using the search function, I'd hereby request the installation of one in this Forum with the following rules (which are of course debatable):

    (1) The Q&A Thread shall be used for Questions for which the expected answer does not exceed a certain complexity. This be:

    a: Yes
    b: No

    c: Yes under circumstance XXX
    d: No under circumstance XXX

e: The answer is too complex, this question deserves it's own Thread.

    (2) Further shall the asker of a new question use a different color of text than each other unaswered question. the answer then matches in text color the color of the question text.

    (3) If the Question is answered the person who asked teh question shall edit the post in a way that it becomes clear that the question has already been answered

Well, with this out of the way, here is my question:

If I use common candy to decrease the level of a Pokemon under a certain level on which it naturally learns an attack, will it try to learn the attack anew whilst leveling up, or does a once learned and forgotten attack be forgotten forever?

Example: A Charmander leveled up to lvl 19 and accidentaly overwrote it's Dragon rage with scary face. will feeding it 4 common candy (lvl 15) and then leveling up to lvl 16 again trigger the learning of Drago rage?

  17. Just replying to my bit here. Pokemon Showdown is a website dedicated to allowing people to create teams and battle them against each other. Some focus on the metagames that have sprung up, complete with tier lists. Others (like myself) make teams just for fun and battle other such teams to see if the concept we based the team off of was good or not. Reborn has its own chatroom on Showdown, which is what the Reborn Showdown! link is. Not too active in it myself, but what have you.

Spoilers work so long as you put whatever you want in spoiler text inside of [*spoiler]these tags without the * character[*/spoiler]

    like so.

Hope that helps, and again welcome to Reborn!

Again, thanks very much, I'll use the spoiler function the next time I have to answer so many posts. So anyone can just read what they want and the post won't be too long. as far as showdown goes...for now I'll just try to get ito the new types and all around mechanics before trying to build a highly specialized team. I'll just grind a bit more and build a different team for every Gym.

  18. So many welcoming posts!

Thank you so very much for the warm welcome, I love you, all of you :wub::wub: (where the hell is the crying smiley, I want my tears of joy)

Welcome Cassius! Don't worry about coming off as rude; we're nice here, we understand.

You have missed some important advancements in the Pokemon universe, but here are the cliffnotes:

    * Physical and Special attacks are based on the move, not the type

    * Fairy types are a thing

    * Mega evolutions

    * Ame is a bit of a sadist

    What hasn't changed:

    * Ash Ketchum is still ten

You'll pick up the rest as you go along.

Well, I thought point 1 and 2 as mentioned with: "only 15 Types" and " nonsense like physical and special moves". but hey, I really forgot to mention that Pokemon evolved into Digimon and that Ame hates me (why? :( (again, where is my crying smiley?)).

    Welcome to the forums!

I too have memories of the glorious Gen I, with my first game being Pokemon Yellow. If you are ever not sure about the weaknesses/typing/learnset of a certain pokemon, use Bulbapedia. When I started Reborn, it helped me a ton with all the Gen 4-6 pokemon.

Anyways, welcome again, and enjoy the suffering storyline!

Bulbapedia is my ticket to making this game playable, as I have no Idea what most of these Attacks are, even when they are from Gen 1 or 2. let's just say that the translation into german was a bit free. Also the Pokemon names can be a bit tricky as I had a little conversation with a (also german) classmate today, that went like this (words that are not translated from the original conversation are in " ")

Me: I was pretty surprized about "Kricketune". I never had Bug-Pokemon on my radar so far, well maybe for Butterfree on Brock.

    Guy: "Kricketune"?
Me: Oh, sorry, I don't know the german name, the game is english.

Guy: Can you describe the appearence?
Me: well, It is red, Posture reminds a little of Beedrill, has long antennas and kinda two Scythes

Guy: No idea what you are talking about

    Me: Delelelelelele Whooooop

Guy: oh you mean "Zirpeise" (german name of Kricketune)

Good thing you went here instead of to Nintendo cuz their games have grown to become more for a children audience, and when i say that i mean some of the stuff is childish, the anime has also turned childish asf, and the game has turned extremely easy. WELL NOT HERE. Ame makes this game amazing by removing all the op mons, and makes the game more challenging by making you have to use STRATEGY(i dont remember hearing the word strategy when talkin about a nintendo pokemon game).

Anyway, WELCOME TO THE FORUMS dont forget to expand your brain if you didnt already by checking all the new stuff that came in pokemon in the few years (3 new types, about like 600 new pokes, mega evolutions)

If you ever get stuck come to the forums and ask(you will need it)

Thanks for the offer of help, if needed. i might need a few Tips on the third gym, But I'll try some things first, before asking. Though, however easy the Nintendo games where and are, I'll never despise them. They are the Heart, the Bones and the Muscles on which this Game here is based on. Ame May have made this game a bit more inteligent (yes, ame screwed with Pokemons brain...I should stop these metaphors) and changed its outer appearence (skin), but the Soul is still the same.

Welcome to Reborn! You had about the opposite experience from me involving the official Pokemon games…I joined on in gen 3 and backtracked while waiting for gen 4. It sounds as though you're getting caught up, which is most excellent. The people here tend to be nice, so you can ask away and be assured of getting at least a couple polite responses back.

Because no one else has said this, I'll handle it despite the fact Vinny seems to dislike someone doing this for reasons I've yet to learn Community rules are to your left, search bar above that, and Showdown server above THAT. Status bar (for you to share whatever's on your mind without making a topic about it) is below the rules, try not to get the two bars mixed up for your own benefit.

In any case, enjoy your mandatory permanent stay at Reborn, and I'll see you around!

Well, again thanks for the offer to help out on behalf of all the forum members ^^. Well, I have alredy read the rules and used the search bar a few times, but still thanks for mentioning it. I have absolutely NO idea on what the showdown server is, but I'll look into it when I have the time. As to getting caught up, well, Pokemon always was pretty addicting to me, so it is only natural that I enjoy a game I always liked with this brilliant little twists and tweaks that Reborn has. And last, yes, I think I will enjoy my stay ^_^

Welcome, you sexy thing, you. Enjoy your time here!

Finally someone who got the core message of this text ^^ also thanks for te nice tune.

Nice metaphor about the Romans. You walked in this game the same way I did, ignorant and thinking it wasn't gonna be hard. My PKMN innocence...

    Anyways, Welcome to Reborn!!!

I kinda have my metaphorical day today, I hope it will be over soon and I certainly hope it is not contageous. Yeah, without Bulbapedia open at any time (to check the type of the next foe) I would not even be able to play this game. And even with bulbapedia I am rather surprized about how I was able to beat Flobot (yes, forgot her actual name) first time with only 3 of my Pokemon fainted o.O

Here's your introductory wrestling theme :3

Aww a theme song just for me ^^ thank you. Though I always liket Big Shows theme more, bach in the day, when I still watched wrestling...dang thats a long time that has passed since then...

I am positively surprized about the warm wecome and the many friendly people out here. It is not in many places on the internet, that one can find this. I was looking for a new fandom, after the last one had slowly turned into a massive corpus of whining attention wh...ell and people abusing the kindness off those who still lived up to the former core of this fandom. I am positive that this here might be a place for me to stay, at least for some time ^^

dang, I know why I wasnt that active in Forums lately...all this typing...

like no one ever was, guys and gals!

    Cassius

PS: I really should find out how to use the spoiler option...these long posts even get too long for me...

  19. ...and there where only 15 Types. Also we had none of this nonsense like physical and special moves, the Special Attack and the Special Defence where one stat called Special, there where only four types of balls, no abilities or natures. We did not even know and care about stats IVs and EVs...heck, most of us could not even read at all when we picked up our first Game of Pokemon.

But that Time is long gone and, as good at it was, it is also good to see how much this beloved Pokemon Universe has grown since the pretty bugged and (visually) ugly first Gen.

    My back story with Pokemon:

I am one of those people who laid down Pokemon at a certain age. For me it was when the third Gen had just started. It did become more and more unpopular with my classmates and because I already had not the best reputation I did not want them to have another thing to tease me about, so I started doing other things. I still played my Crystal edition from time to time, but I never really bothered to keep up with the new stuff that appeared on the market.

I did not really bother picking up another Pokemon game until I finished school and went to University. But then there was another problem, where do I start? I had none of the handheld Nintendo consoles newer than the Advance SP. So I looked around a bit and played a bit of Gen 1 and 2, emulated a bit of Gen 3, and stopped playing rather quickly because it was nothing new and I had more interesting stuff to play. I however tried to get at least a little up to date by watching some youtubers who talked about Pokemon on a regular basis.

Then, almost 3 years later, I saw a post about a fanmade Pokemon game on an image board. After checking it out and asking Google, I ignored all the warnings about how hard and unforgiving it was and just dived in. Needless to say I was about as prepared as an ancient Roman Soldier on board of a landing boat headed for the Normandy on the 6th of June 1944 with no knowledge exceeding the existence of "guns". Well, just try to imagine someone who has never bothered to delve any deeper into Pokemon than "Fire is strong against Plants"...that's me, hello.

Me, myself and some things that make me me:

Well, enough of that now, I am a 22 year old engineering student from Germany who enjoys all kind of (video) games, Western and eastern (japanese) animation, I do read a lot of fantasy and sci fi, but I am also well informed about current developments in natural science. I do some sports, mainly endurance sports like Running (Street and trail) and Biking (Street and Mountain bike), but also archery. I also have somewhat a passion for Roleplaying, be it in any single player RPG, online in chatrooms (does anyone still use that name?) or at the table with friends. My Favourite Types are Fire and Flying, which may derive from me being, as long as I can think back, always fascinated by anything burning and/or flying.

I am (hopefully) funny and don't take too much seriously, which makes me a somewhat silly and quirky person (my mom calls it "not acting my age"). I am also quite lazy when It comes to tasks that need to be done, but I really enjoy a challenge, if the topic or medium interests me. I always try to be nice and friendly, but due to some lack in social communication skills I tend to use wrong wording (amplified by english not being my first language). So please don't overrate any unluckily harsh statements, as I probably did not mean it that way.

    anyway...

I have registered into this online Forum because I hope to get to know the Pokemon fandom, get some help about all the stuff that happened in and around the Pokemon universe in my absence and also just to meet some people and maybe make some friends (a crucial information at this point: yes ladies, I am single ;) )

Well, before this thing here starts exceeding the bearable dose of even the most patient reader, I will conclude this thingy here now, by quickly throwing it through a spell check and posting it ^^

Have a great day and thank you for reading,

May you one day become the very best,

    Cassius
