I'm not sure how weatherball works in Reborn, but if your thinking about a sun team it might help against steel pkmn ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh yeah! I remember thinking about weatherball in the beginning of my run, but I forgot all about it. It's definitely stronger than using secret power: fire haha. Thanks for the suggestion. Though I would have to use Roserade or Victreebell, of which Victreebell is probably the better choice.

  2. Hey I've finally reached the Elite 4 in my mono-grass run. I'm trying to come up with what pokemon to bring, so I'd like to hear what any of you think. Maybe some of you have already done a mono-grass run and know what's good.

So far I'm definitely bringing the following two:

    Ferrothorn:

    - Very tough and hits like a truck. Is one of the only grass types you can safely switch into flying types. Can beat up fairy-types and stall out guys with toxic if needed.

    Mega Sceptile:

    - Very fast, best counter against dragon types I've got, so I think it's a must have for Elias and Lin's Garchomp and Hydregion. I think giving it secret power rock could also be useful.

I'm more unsure of the following:

    Breloom

    - Technician and choice band makes a strong priority mach punch, but I'm afraid it might have outlived it's usefulness, because it is very frail, so it dies if it doesn't take out whatever it's up against.

I could also bring a sun-team chlorophyll package:

    Whimsicott:

    - With prankster it's guaranteed to set up sun, can also paralyze with stun spore, but otherwise it's very frail and even with max sp.atk. it doesn't deal much damage.

    Leavanny:

    - My current one is max attack and with a good investment in HP, under sun it can really set up on special attackers, because it is quite bulky. But I don't know how often that might come up. It also has sticky web, which might be useful.

    Exeggutor:

    - Pretty useless without sun, but can pack quite a punch. Sadly there aren't a lot of mons weak to grass in the Elite 4, so it might not be that good.

    Venusaur:

    - Pretty strong, but I don't know how usefull it's going to be. Sludge bomb can help with fairy types, sleep powder might also help beat some mons.

My biggest problem is that I am very weak against steel types. Breloom can deal with some, but I'm very afraid of Anna's Mega Metagross and Lin's Celesteela, since I Breloom definitely can't beat them. I'm also weak to fire-types, but there aren't a lot of those in the Elite 4, so I don't think I need to bring any counters.

What do you think might be useful?

  3. Hey, I'm trying to get chespin from that lady with the sick husband. I already have the oddishweed, but I can't find her at 7th street. I've looked for her during the morning from what I feel like is every possible clock in between 5am to 11am, but she's just not there. Do any of you have any idea what I am doing wrong?

  4. Hey people. I've reached Hardy's gym in my normal monotype run. Generally I haven't had many problems in this run except Kiki and Amaria. My team isn't really optimized in terms of IVs and stuff like that because I find breeding and IV training tedious, but the natures are generally useful. Another problem is that I didn't fund all of the restoration projects so I think that means I am not able to get Lopunite, which is a bummer since I imagine mega-Lopunny would be useful. My team's the following.

Slaking --------- naive nature ---- Fist Plate

    -Hammer Arm

    -Strength

    -Ice Punch

    -Punishment

Porygon Z ------- Hasty nature ---- Wise Glasses ---- Adaptability

    Trick Room/Thunder Wave/Psychic

    Hyper Beam

    Zap Cannon

    Signal Beam

Diggersby ----- Gentle Nature ---- Iron Plate --- Huge Power

    -Earthquake

    -Strength

    -Hammer Arm

    -Iron Tail

Snorlax ----- Hardy Nature ---- Metal Coat --- Thick Fat

    -Belly Drum

    -Body Slam

    -Amnesia

    -Heavy Slam

Pyroar ----- Naive Nature --- Charcoal ---- Moxie

    -Will-O-Wisp

    -Overheat

    -Headbut

    -Crunch

Ditto ---- Quick Powder ---- Imposter

    -Transform

Pidgeot ---- Naive Nature --- Pidgeotite

    -Fly

    -Hurricane

    -Tailwind

    -Mirror Move

Those are the Pokemon that are currently around lvl. 88-90.

My problem is pretty much that I have a hard time dealing with his opening of Aerodactyl and Gigalith. I'm not really able to do much against them since they destroy any opening I make unless I KO one of them. So far my best attempts have involved starting with paralyzing Aerodactyl and hitting Gigalith with Slakings Hammer Arm, which puts it to about 1/3rd hit points. Then I sent out Ditto to copy mega-Aerodactyl, hit Gigalith and send out Snorlax to hit Aerodactyl with Heavy Slam, which puts it in the red, but Aerodactyl KO's Ditto. I sent out Diggersby, he sends out Archeops. Snorlax OH's Archeops after it hurts Diggersby and Snorlax pretty bad and Diggersby wipes out Aerodactyl, but then Lycanroc pretty much destroys me. I don't really know what to do ... Anybody got any ideas for better mons or maybe a strategy I haven't seen. Anyone else done a Normal Mono-run?

  5. Hello, I'm currently playing through a Dark Type Monorun and I can't seem to encounter a pawniard on route 3 even though all of the on-the-hunt threats and my own memory inform me that it should be available there. Has it just become more rare since episode 18, am I ust being unlucky or has its location changed?

    Thanks in advance!

  6. I disagree with your first point. I don't find there to be any really dumb male characters that just try to brute force everything (maybe except Aster?) You use Hardy as an example, but he isn't stupid, he's impulsive. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. You can be smart but still have a bad temper. He shows that he has a great sense of compassion and he is able to think: "hey, this new gym leader might be having a hard time because she's young and stuff, let me go help her out". Note that no other characters did this. I don't know where you got your idea that Samson is stupid from either, he seems reasonably smart, though he is old fashioned, but once again those two things are not mutually exclusive either. You also ignore the huge amount of female characters that act stupid or inconsiderate like Victoria, Serra, Heather, Kiki, Julia and Florina. That's not to say these characters are stupid, but they do stupid stuff, just like some male characters do dumb stuff without being unintelligent characters.

I do however agree that there are way more good and kind female characters than male characters. Ame also agrees so it would be stupid of me not to. However I think you should judge them based on how good they are and not on whether or not they have broken the law. I don't think there is anything wrong with having a game in which there are more good women than men - as long as you make sure this doesn't happen to the point of it becoming the trend (which it might be, women are often portrayed as nicer and kinder than men). If anyone asked I wouldn't call this game especially sexist in of itself, sexism in media is almost only possible to analyze by analyzing larger samples.

  7. Hello people. I'm currently doing a grass monorun and would like to catch a Petilil. As far as I remember, Petilil appears in the obsidia park when it's sunny, however it hasn't appeared for me. Has its location been changed in E16 or am I doing something wrong?

EDIT - I fucked up and forgot you needed two badges. Sorry for the post

Try talking to the people in 7th street, your gang members for example.

Thanks mate. I didn't know it was triggered by talking to everyone. I got him to appear now.

  9. Hello. I am replaying Reborn for the fourth time now (second time for ep. 16), but for some reason I really can't remember how to make Bennett appear. I feel like the last times i played i just ran around at 7th street and he just appeared after exiting the building with the heal-machine, but that doesn't happen. Does anyone know what to do? Is this a bug?

  10. I have to say Reborn. I really like both games and each has some things that it is better at than the other.

Here are my reasons as to why I like Reborn more:

I'm a sucker for edgy and grimdark stories, it's kinda my guilty pleasure to read WH40k lore.

The plot is much more focused. I feel like everything I have to do in Reborn tie in with the overarching plot.

I like the Gym-leaders more. I think the only weak gym-leader characters in Reborn are Julia, but even she is better than Crawli or the Electric-type leader of Rejuvenation. I can't name any of their character traits other than "is blind" and "has an Electvire"

Reborn is much more professional - I never had to grind, because the game made sure my Pokemon gained enough experience through encountes (this is my main gripe with Rejuvenation)

Reborn's world is much tighter and better made. Several times it is mentioned that the city in Rejuvenation is dark. Kanon doesn't seem very impressed by the future either, but seriously, gearen city doesn't look dark, nor does it look like a bad place to live. It doesn't look like the region was ripped in pieces at any point.

Many people mentioned that Reborn's puzzles were hard, but I found them to be alright. Meanwhile I was stuck several times in Rejuvenation and it felt much more unfair.

Rejuvenation is still good and its creators should all be proud though.
