  1. I ended up using the Focus Sash again . . . On Garchomp . . .

    http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13680entry309000

I might go back and try to figure out a better way to defeat him, but this worked very well and didn't require me to break my "No Items in Battle" rule, so . . .

My thought was to breed my FEAR Rattata (male) with a Donphan (female) to make a Donphan with both Endeavor AND Sturdy.

That would negate any need for the Focus Sash . . .

Do you realize the story progresses even if you get KOed? :P

  2. I'd go with Pokemon Zeta/Omicron first, since it's finished. It takes, what, 60-80 hours to beat? Then I'd go with Pokemon Insurgence after, actually. Even though it's not-very-complete, it's already about 15-25 hours, and with 1.1 on the horizon (I'd say...1-3 weeks) that'll bump it up another 10 hours.

Pokemon Reborn's difficulty is pretty insane. It's about 35-45 hours. I'd go with this one last because its bar is rather high.

Never played Uranium, but from what I heard it's very incomplete and hardly updates.

They all have their pros and cons. In terms of difficulty, obviously Reborn > Insurgence > ZO. Same goes for story IMO, although Insurgence looks very promising. Feature-wise though, Reborn is beat. Thesuzerain's games have stuff like online capability, HM items, and other quality-of-life stuff that you won't get in Reborn.

  3. Garchomp is definetely a problem so try to defintely boost up with clefable. If you have cosmic power or def increasing x item, spam them and continue to stack them until clefable is maxed out. Then basicaly clefable can tank garchom.

I can't believe my luck. Clefairy can learn Cosmic Power via Heart Scale, but Clefable DOES NOT. Such bullshit lol. Don't have any X-items, either.

In the meantime, though, right now I've been testing my luck with MINIMIZE Clefable. Yes. Minimize Clefable. Been soft resetting like mad to get a good luck matchup...

Edit: FUCKING FINALLY. Set up toxic Spikes with Drapion on Nidoking, then set up Minimize on Clefable after Drapion died. Things were going well, until Explosion landed on Clefable from the fucking owl shit. I sacked Flygon to revive Clefable, and I set up Minimize Clefable yet again on the Quagsire. Sweep and set.

  4. Go to the vendor in the Circus who tells you the Hidden Power type of your Pokemon. If any has Ice, teach it HP and pray it will do the trick. The much safer way is a good Ice type, but you'll have to grind it. And maybe the safest bet against that thing is Toxic.

Also, mine a Moon Stone, evolve Clefairy and give it Metronome. In Terra's field, it chooses attacks of min 70 base power.

Oops, I meant Clefable. I didn't leave it as a Clefairy for 70 levels :P.

Where would I grab Toxic? Not sure if I can survive long enough with the rest of my team against Garchomp, though....

Hidden Power turned out fruitless X_X.

Edit: Holy shit, trying to level up a Sealeo, but it's taking AGES. This is kind of ridiculous T___T.

  5. Okay, so, new problem...Terra. On rare occasions I could bypass her Nidoking, but...definitely not her Garchomp.

Team is generally the same. Main problem is that I'm usually getting outspeeded to hell and back. Currently grinding my Pokemon to ~73, but I doubt it'd make much of a difference.

    Flygon Lvl 71

  6. Then leveling your flygont to lv 73 with 3 levels of continous speed evs may help. Training your pokemon to lv 70+, especially your kabutops will help. Just be sure to know which pokemon have hrass moves to avoid kabutops being killed by them. But definetly set up rain with lumineon or with a pranskter user (Cottonee I think from route 4) if possible.

Pokemon don't listen to me after level 70, Flygon has max EVs, I don't have Rain Dance TM (first runthrough, that's why I"m usng Lumineon, since it learns it through level up),

Edit: Got it. Sent out Primeape and Lumineon first, they managed to not get KOed because Charlotte decided not to use Eruption or Flare Blitz for whatever reason, and it was smooth sailing from there.

  7. You may need to ev train your flygon in speed (Must easier with power anklet) . What I used was a prankster purrloin which set up the rain dance. If your flygon was faster, it would have no trouble outspeeding and hitting with eq. You might also want to train up your kabutops or a decent water type which could abuse the rain such as

    azumarill/crawdaunt/omastar.

Remember I can't access reborn city.

  8. Here's a problem. I have the same issue as Cyclonegale, but the only issue is, my Flygon DOESN'T outspeed Darmaritan and Typhlosion (to my chagrin).

    Flygon Lvl 70

    Levitate, Adamant, No Item

    -Earthquake

    -Uproar

    Kabutops, Level 65

    Swift Swim, Lonely, Splash Plate

    -Aqua Jet

    -Surf

On rotation, I usually use a

    Clefairy, Level 65

    Magic Guard, Hasty, None.

    -Moonblast

    -Shadow Ball

    -Moonlight

    -Grass Knot.

I'm at a loss what to do. My original plan was to just have Lumineon and Flygon sweep with Lumineons' Rain Dance, but my Flygon is outspeeded even at level 70 by Darmitan and Typholsion (...wish I could change his nature to Jolly, or EV train him, but lolRebornCityisBLocked). Any thoughts?

  9. Lol I actually still have the episode before they removed Magikarp, so yea my offer still stands...and I'm still bored so plz accept..I can also get you a scraggy :D

Offer is sourly tempting but if Ame deems Gyarados to be too OP, then well, I'll play this blasted narcissist rage-inducing wtfhax game the way it was meant to played. I clearly hate myself. How does trading work in this game anyway? There's no server, no?

If you're that bored, though, then why not breed a perfect IV team? Please don't tell your'e so bored you already done that. Mine telling me like, how soon I'll get WaterfalL?

  10. If you want I can train up another water type for you like Azumarill or Sharpedo. Just upload your save file.

Thanks for the offer, but it's alright. There's no real good water Pokemon that would mesh well with my haphazard team other than, say, Gyarados (hrrrgh why you remove) or Slowbro (hrrrgh why you no release) or Starmie (...on a matter of personal preference, no) or Ludicolo, but I was thinking I would substitute out my Primeape for a Breloom later when that's released.

Team is Charizard-Flygon-Drapion-Primeape-Clefable-lolKabutops at the moment. I regret picking up a Clefairy instead of waiting for an Azumarill, and Primeape instead of Scraggy, but whatever. I thought trading wasn't in this game anyways?

  11. Wow I just checked Kabutop's page and see that he learns some REALLY weird moves. From Wring Out and Night Slash to Mega Drain. Like whaaaatt

There's a Move Relearner in Reborn and some Move Tutors who pretty bad moves so not much help there. Waterfall is in the game though.

This is what happens when you don't side with Lord Helix.

After 1.5 hours of soft resetting mining, the heretic fossil was the one I found first T_T (not to mention Lord Helix is too....slow for my tastes).

Thank Arceus Waterfall is in the game though. I couldn't find proof otherwise since the search bar is meh and it isn't listed in the outdated Item Guide. Thanks! Now here's to hoping how much longer I can bear with Aqua Jet and Slash until I go crazy.

  12. Coming from Pokemon Z/O and Insurgence, I was spoiled by the lush and and easily obtainable HMs/TMs one can get in that game. In a dire need for a good water type, I eventually decided on Kabutops. Unfortunately, little did I know was that his level up movepool is horrible. I'm right at the part where you fight the Ditto that turns into a...well, you know. My Kabutops only knows Aqua Jet, Slash, Mega Drain and recently Ancient Power (but that's special and somewhat shitty with its 5 PP). Are there move tutors or TMs available soonish? I would love to grab my hands on Stone Edge and Rock Slide and Waterfall, but I have a feeling those aren't available. At this point though, I'm willing to settle for Surf, Scald, Rock Tomb, Brick Break, and even Smack Down for God's sake. There's also the Move Tutor moves, like Aqua Tail, Earth Power, Knock Off, Low Kick, and Superpower.

Point is, are any of those moves available soon? Or even not-so-soon? I'm bitter because I've spent so much Trainer Exp and time mining for this blasted Kabutops only for it to be complete dead weight.
