  1. Bah! Made it past Saphira. But please don't ask me how many Revival Herbs I used. I should have included someone with Trick Room instead...

The final leg is simple - Only Pokemon caught or obtained in events. And of course, some of the most powerful Pokemon indeed were already obtained in events!

Wish me luck - I will take a break until the next weekend!

Do you have any question regarding my teambuilding during each part of the challenge?

  2. That was an exhausting vacation week! But I made it this far... Only one gym left! The only place where I had to switch to "less" defensive Pokemon was the Fiore Gauntlet, cause otherwise they would always kaim at Florinia's Pokemon first.

  3. To make this thread more interesting, I should start writing my teambuilding in details in order to make things more clear for you. Let's start with the first set of rules that I rolled into, "Pokemon with double types only".

To keep myself abiding to that rule, I had to choose between just the two of starters - Bulbasaur and Rowlet, and in anticipation of the first gym, I chose Number One.

Building a team of six prior to the Gym battle was quite tricky, but I somehow managed to finish it. Note that I was still allowed to capture Pokemon with single types, but could not use them in direct battles.

For example, I have captured a Grubbin in the event (which was a Mono-Bug), but I didn't use it in combat unity I fed it EXP Candies up to LVL 20, which is the level of a Charjabug (Bug/Electric)

Given that leaders in AllGen mod use different (and harder teams), I had to level up to key sweepers to LVL 20 as well to make sure they pull through. Key props to:

Ivysaur - The Leech-Seed stall strategy is still as good as ever, and with access to TM Charm, it makes it even more valuable/

Delibird - Oh, how we could forget this Chrismas gift, brought specifically to deal with Julia's Oricorio? Especially when that thing can now use Quiver Dance in this version.

Charjabug - Suprise! Julia's Electrode is how a Hisui variety. Leech Seed does not work, but this little guy somehow managed to one-shot it with Bug Bite.

Final team with to defeat Julia under the teambuilding rules:

Menu HOME 0002.pngFrogger (male) - Leech Seed, Vine Whip, Charm, Tackle

Menu HOME 0164.pngClawthorne (female) - Peck, Echoed Voice, Zen Headbutt, Hypnosis

Menu HOME 0737.pngThe Tick (male) - Charge, Spark, Bite, Bug Bute

Menu HOME 0225.pngGrinch (male) - Present, Ice Shard, Drill Peck, Spikes

Menu HOME 0714.pngAero (male) - Wing Attack, Bite, Supersonic, Screech

Menu HOME 0167.pngMadame Web (female) - Didn't bother to remember the move pool, as she was there just to fill the slot.

Next up is Florinia. The second set of rules will require to use Pokemon from Galar Pokedex (not nessesary just Gen 8). Unfortunately, Ivysaur is not even in Isle of Armor Dex (and I use the list from main Galar Dex), so he will be rotated out.
What kind of Pokemon would make the cut towards next Gym battle?

  4. What's up everyone? I have invented a new challenge, and I dare you to try the same challenge that I have.

The point is simple - I randomize the rules of teambuilding on the start of the game, and then randomize them again after I earn a badge from a Gym Leader.

Just started a new walkthrough for that, and it's quite fun for me, I should say! I earned 5 badges so far. I'm using AllGen Reborn mod to feature Pokemon from all 9 generations,
You should do it too, send a message to me and I'll randomize you a good challenge. Here are the rules that were rolled for me on my walkthough:

    1. (up to Julia) - Only Pokemon with double types

    2. (up to Florinia) - Only Pokemon from Galar Pokedex (not nessesary Gen 8)

    3. (up to Shelly) - Only Pokemon from Unova Pokedex (B2W2)

    4. (up to Shade) - Only Pokemon already registered in Pokedex (means I can't use new evolutions from there)
    5. (up to Aya) - Only Pokemon from Galar Pokedex (again)
    6. (up to Serra) - Female Pokemon only

    7. (up to Noel) - Only Pokemon from Johto Pokedex

    8. (up to Radomus) - Special attackers only

    9. (up to Luna) - Two-type specialization (much like Reborn's Elite Four). I chose Grass/Poison.

    10. (up to Samson) - Registered Pokedex entires only (prior to receiving this challenge)
    11. (up to Charlotte) - Pure type (only Pokemon of single types)

    12. (up to Terra) - Only Pokemon from Blueberry Pokedex

    13. (up to Ciel) - Defensive Pokemon only (highest DEF/SPD higher than ATK/SPA)

    14. (up to Adrienn) - Uncaught Pokemon only (up to this point). Entire team is assembing from scratch!

    15. (up to Titania ) - Genderless Pokemon only

    16. (up to Amaria) - Fully evolved Pokemon only (this excludes Pokemon without evolutions)

    17. (up to Hardy) - Registered Pokedex entires only

    18. (Up to Saphira, including Terra) - Stat-dominating team. For this one I am chosing Pokemon whose highest stat is SPATK. Pumning them up with Carbos if neccessary.

    19. Victory Road and Charous Hall - Event Pokemon only (not random wild encounters)

So, would you like to accept my challenge? Your randomizer will be different from mine. Do you want me to randomize the teambuilder for the whole walkthrough or only after beating the next Leader? Do you want to see the actual contents of the randomizer? It has 45 entries, with some also having sub-entires. Send me a message if you're interested, or if you want to see what kind of teams I used to beat each Gym Leader.

  5. Well, I should make a habit of using the updater every time before I start the game.

And guess what? When a Bethesda employee playtested Skyrim for 1000 hours before tha release, 950 hours of play time were full with bugs.
So Imagine Jan and Zumi experiencing the same thing all over...

Finally I can post my till now hardest run here:

    155037423_Halloffame.png.bf9256640b21c33e255ba68b5a9b5a52.png

Bonsly was just impressive as tank with Eviolite and Suckerpunch was helpful in more situations than I could count.
Magby was great with his speed and Flamebody and nice movepool.

Elekid was similar to Magby a great helper with more moves than I ever epected it could know.

Munchlax was as expected a great tank and good hiter with Bodyslam & Rockslide after I set up with either Curse or Belly drum and Leftovers healed enough to survive.

Smochoom did a good job early and midgame and even lategame with his ice & psychic moves but the most important feat was Perish Song who saved me in multiple hard battle when Quick Claw activated.

Mantyke a Pokemon I never would have respected that much before. Tailwind Ice Wind Scald and Air Slash were just the combination I needed. Tailwind helped in so many situations when I was to slow.

Riolu was useful in certain fights as well as Pantimimi.

Bonsly was useful early game and in some fights midgame. (Dont undermatimate Poison Point.)

Togepi oh Togepi my Metronom saver. I was stuck in earlygame against Shade (and a few others) forever and Metronom saved me a lot of times after over a hundred tries.

Pichu Chingling Cleffa and Igglybuff worked well early game but soon fell off and got switched out as soon as possible.

Azurill Wynaut and Happiny as well as Tyrogue never had the chance to shine.

    image.png.638047d00aeda8fd5c2f72597d50b99e.png

I beg you pardon? Those are all Baby Pokemon? If you really did finish Elite Four with them, you should have uploaded everything on YouTube. You would be a legend by then!

yea ik Pelipper's EVs spread weird but it just simply works for me, anyways here's a brief summary

    - Pelipper as usual the rain setter, and somehow that EVs spread makes it survive random hits before doing U-turn for swapping
    - Toxapex being "The Pex"
    - Swampert as the rain MVP
    - Keldeo as my special sweeper, which recently replaced Swift Swim Kingdra for uhhhh, maybe I'd just wanna put a legendary on my team
    - Rotom-W doing exceptionally good work here in pivotting and choke with Will-o-Wisp when Toxic Spikes can't touch the enemies
    - Gyarados with Flynium-Z Bounce occasionally help me pulling out a lot in New World, when Pelipper becomes total pepega (curse the field tho)

I do not understand how did you manage to sneak in Keldeo before the postgame. Until you give me a proper answer, I won't include your team while updating the tier list.

This sandstorm team is by far the easiest playthrough I've had. Only place I struggled a bit was solo vs Blake and Fern-battles until I got surf for Heliolisk.

Gigalith for obv reason, Togedemaru to set electric field.

    Gigalith - Sand Stream

    Togedemaru - Sturdy

    Heliolisk - Sand Veil

    Gliscor - Sand Veil

    Stoutland - Sand Rush

    Excadrill - Sand Rush

You really defeated Elite Four and Lin with this team? In a field where weather effects and terrain do not work?

  9. For me Heather was hard because of Tailwind. But when I made it to wear off and started my own Tailwind, It quickly swept the rest of her team.

Laura and Bennet were downed on first try after rain was replased with Hail and Flower Garden was burned.

Elias was quite a challenge, but with my own Dragon moves I managed to persevere somehow.

Anna took the most attempts, as I frantically struggled to keep both Hail and Aurora Veil to keep her off the field advantage. Jirachi took the longest te to take down, but with 6 stacks of Snarl I could keep the damage control.

For the first battle with Lin it was important to abuse the fact that two of her pokemon were choiced. The final battle... I chose to give Seeds to my team, but somehow managed to set-up with my secret weapon - again with Snarl and sme battle item boosts.

  10. I'll start with my own six Pokemon-team, if you don't mind:

Streamer the Blastoise (male). Holds Blastoisite. Serious Nature. Grand Hall. MAX SPATK EV, 0 attack EVs, random spread of other EVs. Ability - Torrent / Mega Launcher

    -Dark Pulse

    -Flash Cannon

    -Water Pulse

    -Dragon Pluse

Shiba Inu the Arcanine (female). Holds Assault Vest. OT - Officer Jacob. Timid nature. Random spread of EVs. Ability - Intimidate
    -Dragon Pulse

    -Extreme Speed

    -Heat Wave

    -Wild Charge

Spotify the Noivern (male). Hold either Life Orb or Choice Specs. Underground Railnet. Quirky nature. Nearly max SPATK and SPD. Ability - Infiltrator
    - Hurricane
    - Dragon Pulse

    - Flamethrower

    - Tailwind

Snowy the Ninetales (female). Holds Light Clay. Ametrine Mountain. Timid nature. MAX SPATK and SPD. Ability - Snow Warning
    - Aurora Veil

    - Blizzard

    - Dazzling Gleam

    - Nasty Plot

System Crash the Garchomp (female). Holds Choice Band or Choice Scarf. Adamant nature. Tourmaline Desert. MAX ATK and SPD. Ability - Rough Skin

    - Stone Edge

    - Stomping Tantrum

    - Stealth Rock

    - Outrage

Microsoft the Silvally (genderless). Held items vary between encounters - either Memories or Field Seeds. Location classified. Naughty nature. Random spread of EVs (zero SPATK). Ability - RKS System.
    - Snarl
    - Rock Slide
    - Flamethrower
    - Multi-Attack

I won't go it details of my walkthrough yet, but the number of Max Potions and Revival Herbs used on the way was not small... Still, I made it! Now I need to remember how exactly I managed to complete the long gauntlet...
