  1. Not possible. I got one on Street Pass not too long ago myself - it's all up to chance. Unless you want to fly out and street pass them in person, which would be nice but a little excessive.

  2. So one of my favorite things about Reborn is that a Pokemon is always salvagable thanks to Ability Capsules (which you could get an endless supply of pretty readily), that nature changing psycologist, and move tutors. The only thing that you can't change right now are IVs, unless there's something at the tail end of episode 13 I haven't seen yet that handles them. Zeta and Omicron have a simple system in place where a rare item is traded to a man who will raise the IV of your choice on a particular Pokemon to 31. Will we ever see something like that implemented in Reborn?

  4. It's somewhere in the mid 70s, I think - the effect starts to be substantial around 50, and is fully effective around the 70s, though you'll probably get more benefit from having full EVs as early as your 20s and 30s as opposed to a handful, regardless.

EVs also take effect immediately in this one (you can even see Hit Point maxes spontaneously jump up during battle sometimes), so the giant stat boosts on level up from Gen 3 won't ever happen in this.

  5. Ok but one thing is "having more variety" and one thing is having no Rock-type at all. IMO, if their theme is Rock, the grunts should run almost exclusively Rock-types (thus resulting in extreme predictability)

Well there you go. Ame doesn't want us rolling over everything with no effort, random trainers or no. Besides, Team Aqua and Magma had obvious water and Fire themes, respectively, but not all their grunts (or at times, even their Admins) used the appropriate type.

Something else to think about regarding ZEL: you can't of raised an Eevee into an Espeon or Umbreon if you were a bad person. I like to think Lumi was responsible for Espeon, Eve built up Glaceon, and Zero Umbreon (which is a bit at odds with his(?) being an asshole, but who knows?

  6. If anything, I think Team Meteor are creditable and interesting because the game takes steps to humanize them. Simon seems to exists to drive home the point that no, these guys aren't just baby punching terrorists. Their grunts even have names, unlike every canon evil team in the franchise, and some have miniature narratives of their own that occur throughout the game (you get to see them rise through the ranks and react to events happening throughout the game, however briefly). ZEL and Taka both exhibit regret and reluctance at what they're tasked to do (with the former's father being a high ranking member of the team probably playing a huge part in why he'd be involved at all), and even Sirius helps you briefly, even if it was mostly to save his own ass. The organization is definitely bad, but what drives its members to do what they do are, for many of them, anyway, still a mystery, so I think it's too early to judge them one way or another. I like what I've seen so far, though.

  7. Dunno if this came across as particularly hostile or whiny, and if so that's not the intent at all. The game seems designed in a very deliberate way to restrict access to TMs, Pokemon, or other game changing conveniences (ie, the sheer number of shards that goes into getting an EXP. Share), or gates the better ones behind side quests or bonus bosses, and i was genuinely curious if reverting to old versions was, in a roundabout way, another kind of gate to making the game harder. Or a bonus for the folks that have been playing longer. Or both. Or just her going "lol I don't really intend for this but you guys are gonna do it anyway so sure."

  8. I've seen both here and in the team building forum a lot of suggestions to downgrade to older episodes to get Pokemon X with Y move by breeding, or through catching a mon that was eventually removed from the game, and it's made me wonder, if it's possible anyway, even if it's kind of obtuse to manage and takes a great deal of effort and what some might even call cheating, why restrict access to these moves on certain mons? Is it a badge of honor kind of thing or a bonus to long time players to still have what are essentially illegal movesets?
