  1. If ya ever wanna learn how to toe the line, come to me, Petty Officer Antares Ryder.

I think a little differently from everyone else, particularly on the RP forum. Where as Surge is an Army boy, I prefer the Navy.

We sea dogs got it right!

  2. Antares Ryder here to bring you a brand-new, hot off the press RP. Thought it would be a good idea, so I'm gonna give you a summary of everything to know.

    Overview

The world is spiraling down a road of destruction. The shortsightedness of humanity spurred conflict in centuries past, making the desolate world of today. Man exhausted it's resources and Pokemon to the brink of extinction. Catacylsms of this caliber are rare at best, but all it takes is one. Natons rise, nations fall, it's a common occurence every few decades. Technology is sparse. People and Pokemon are few and far between. Our story is set in a region named Luchi. At the time of our tale, three nations cross swords regularly. Their names:

    The Glorious Lorraine Empire

    The Eternal Kingdom of Alsace

    The Imperial Dominion of Exter

You as an RP'er assume the role of a newly enlisted cadet in the Imperial Dominion of Exter. Your current job is to finish your basic training and advance through the ranks of the Exterian Imperial Army.

The nations have to be flexible in terms of weapon choices as for both defense and aggression. Due to constraints on Pokemon and other resources, each nation supplies each enlisted soldier a non-ballistic weapon to support both themselves and their Pokemon

The three nations have not fought for a few years now, thanks to a young man named Kenchira Robins. Kenchira practically singlehandedly stopped the fighting by himself.

However, there is always a calm before the storm.

    Exterian Army

The Exterian Army has four main branches: the Judicial Corps, the Palisades Corps, the Scout Corps, and the Vanguard Corps. Each branch has a unique role in furthering the glorious name of Exter.

Judicial - The enforcers of the law. Any jurisdiction to uphold any Exterian law applies to this branch.

Palisades - The homeland defenders. The Palisades Corps is an equivalent to the National Guard. Any guards posted in any area of Exter are most likely under hire by the Palisades.

Scouts - The seekers of knowledge. Any informaton - known, unknown, sought after, etc. - is logged and retrieved by this branch of the Army. Scouts are taught to uphold all Exterian secrets with their life.

Vanguards - The first strikers. Vanguards are the largest branch of the Exterian Imperial Army and used to see the most action. Vanguards must conquer all they seek, or die trying.

    National Politics

Each nation is led by it's own unique form of government and it's own way to survive. Each government has it's own upsides and downsides but each nation has thrived under it's unique form of government.

Exter - Exter is led by an oligarchy, spearheaded by the Viscount and each Supervisor to every branch of the Exterian Army. Exter strives for a strong economy based on farming and minute manufacturing. The Army is led by two Inquisitors from the Judicial Corps, one Taskmaster of the Palisades Corps, one Orienteer from the Scouts, and two Generals from the Vanguards.

Alsace - Alsace formed a semi-successful democratic republic / constitutional monarchy. Joint power is held by a Senate and and the Royal Family consisting of: a King, Queen, and their offspring. Both entities have equal power by constitutional terms, but the Royal Family controls more power dispersed under less people, making it a "Kingdom". Alsace survives by a cottage system of manufacturing and mining for valuable minerals.

Lorraine - Lorraine is led by a single dictator whom enforces the law assisted by the watchful eye of an Elite Squad. Lorraine lives off of hefty taxes and a constant presence of fear in exchange for loyal service. Lorraine sells most of the technology that exists in Luchi.

    The Land Of Luchi

Luchi is a region with a varying climate annually. During the good years, the climate provides a warm, lush landscape, with a fair balance of rain and sunshine. The bad years leave an awful dry and cool feeling throughout most of the region. Although there are several smaller areas, such as a glacial cavern, a desert, and a rainforest, the climate changes tend to apply here to. Exter is inhabited to Central Luchi, a large flat plain for the most part, broken by occasional rivers, lakes, and hills, seperated by Alsace and Lorraine by a large mountain range. Alsace is in the North. A cooler, drier area, ideal for the mining they do. Lorraine is in the East. A large valley occupied by the capital city that is mostly dry throughout the year.

    Utopian Scholar Society (USS)

Very little is known about this mysterious group of intellects, except they are hermits and stay away from the national dealings of each government. It is rumored the USS knows what happened to cause the world to spin out of control, and they know how to revive the world.

This fact has yet to be confirmed and all Scouts sent to the encampments have never returned. The encampments have disappeared as well.

Other rumors claim they have unlocked the secrets to Pokemon handling long lost by the world.

    Details About New Recruits

Each new cadet is evaluated under two parameters: An Araments Alignment, and and any special talents. A cadet's Araments Alignment determines which of three classes of soldier would suit them the most. A Corps Suggestion is also given as an evaluator's recommendation based on the cadet's personality and aptitude. Cadets do not have to abide by the Corps Suggestion, but must abide by their Araments Alignment in all fairness.

The three classes are as follows by Araments Alignment:

Huntsman - A person well-adjusted more to conventional weapons than Pokemon handling. They are either more inept to handling Pokemon, are better at handling weapons, or can function well without them, showing athleticism. Huntsmen are easily able to overpower Pokemon or other humans by themselves or with little assistance from Pokemon. Huntsmen are allowed only a max of two Pokemon and any non-ballistic weapon of their choice.

Tamer - A person either less athletic than a Huntsman or have a knack for handling Pokemon and understanding them. Tamers are terrible at handling combat situations by themselves, and are better off using their Pokemon for battle.Tamers are excellent tacticians. Tamers are allowed a max of four Pokemon and are limited to only daggers or brass knuckles.

Shaman - A person who shows both an equal aptitude for conventional weapons and handling Pokemon. These people are jacks of all trades in general, master of none. Shamans are both somewhat athletic and somewhat observant and can handle combat situations by either Pokemon or themselves equally. Shamans are allowed a max of three Pokemon and their conventional weapon is limited to any single-handed weapon of their choice.

Each new cadet is issued one Pokeball and a uniform. Pokeballs are extremely rare and difficult to produce, so cadets are taught to use their one Pokeball wisely.

Assuming you are a new cadet, you have already been evaluated by Araments Alignment and will be issued your rightful possessions upon basic training.

    Available Pokemon:

Cadets are sent on a daylong journey by the training advisors to catch one Pokemon amongst the many they are allowed to seek. Everything is relatively easy to catch and docile. Some species will be major exceptions

Cadets must capture or subdue one Pokemon into their possession by the following morning or else be dismissed from training.

The following Pokemon inhabit the areas accessible by cadets: Starly, Slowpoke, Vulpix, Sewaddle, Drilbur, Croagunk, Ralts, Staryu, Tyrogue, Azurill, Buneary, Roggenrola, Purrloin, Swablu, Pichu, Smoochum.

Every Pokemon is technically available, but the rest are allowed to be captured later on.

    Properties of Pokemon:

Certain species are extremely hard to subdue and train, such as every pseudo-legendary. Any cadet procuring a pseudo-legendary is held in a higher regard.

Pokemon with aura or psychic abilities are able to heal other Pokemon as well as any medicinal Pokemon such as Chansey.

    Important NPC's:

Kenchira Robins - Inquisitor, husband to Alice Moriah, and hero of Exter. Leads training of new cadets.

Alice Moriah - Wife of Kenchira Robins. Successor to the Taskmaster.
Mileena Kinter - Oversees training of cadets with Kenchira.

Gekko Moriah - Brother of Alice Moriah and the Orienteer. Instructs cadets on Scouting

Ashe, Kizan, Elric, Serenity - Lucario (F), Bisharp (M), Garchomp (M), Gardevoir (F), under the service of Kenchira Robins and the only Pokemon instructors to the cadets. Each one teaches different aspects of Pokemon handling. Each can communicate by either telepathy or direct English

    Rules:

Luckily for you, I have a high tolerance for any BS put forth, although you as an RP'er must follow the following rules:

    1. My roof, my rules. Respect anything I, as the host, have to say. If I say no, I normally mean no.

    2. Respect other players. This should be rule 1, but I am setting the rules here. Respect others players and their decisions or risk being booted.

    3. No trolling. Minimal powerplaying, only at the consent of other RP'ers. Godmodding is prohibited.

    4. Respect the mods. Pretty obvious.

    5. Be innovative. Creative thoughts are welcome here as long as everyone believes it is fair. If I agree, I'll allow it.

    6. Have fun.

First time to fail to comply with these rules (EXCEPT #6), if any negative posting streaks occur, you will recieve a warning from me or a mod via post or PM. If you recieve two warnings, you will be suspended for a week. Third warning you recieve punishment by a higher mod, such as Hukuna however seen fit, along with exilation from my RP for one month (unless I say otherwise). You may appeal to me when your thirty days are up.

    Application:

    Name:

    Age:

    Birthday:

    Chosen Corps:

    Araments Alignment:

Special Talent: (The Exterian Army denies people without special talents, such as tracking or outdoorsmanship)

    Starter Pokemon:

Backstory: (your reason for joining the Exterian Army)

Hope everyone likes this idea and it takes off. Leave a post if you're interested. I'll start the first chapter when I can round up five people (excluding myself).

  3. In reality, everyone has potential to join Team Meteor, some less than others. My two cents on any remote reason why:

Julia - To save her Gym or something

Florina - Maybe convince Fern he's being stupid

    Shelly - Save Heather

Shade - Unknown, he's a spectre so dunno why Meteor would want him

Aya - Save Hardy, prove a point to him.

    Serra - Save Bennett

Noel - Save one of the orphans

Radomus - "one would wonder how I acquired an outfit such as this in the first place." Remember that?

    Luna - Stop Elias

    Samson/Ciel - Save the Circus

Charlotte/Saphira - Save her family or the orphans.

    Adrienn- Still naive as ever.

Amaria - Given up on life

Titania - To save Amaria if above happens.

Hardy - Forced into it for unknown reasons.

Terra - For the sake of being T3RR@.

Ame has a way of screwing with us, so I speculate it'll be one of the unlikely ones.

  4. Well man, sorry to hear you've been depressed over a matter like this. Never played WoW myself, but I do have a little experience with situations like this in Pokemon. I have no good breeders in my party and it pangs me when I do something like pull a shiny and it has the wrong IV's or nature.

If WoW is your social outlet, just play in another area to blow some time, think it over, and possibly take a whack at it every few days. A 1% drop just means a 99% chance of not getting it, which means you'll get it soon.

  5. So I've racked up a few warning points and not many mods have been able to give me the straight answer I've been trying to seek.

Three questions pertaining to the topic:

    1. Can you remove warning points?

    2. What are the consequences?

    3. Can my status updates and Member Title change have something to do with points?

The third question in particular I've had a problem with from day one, and I've never really been able to post any status updates and I can't figure out how to change the member title.

Does anyone have a lot of warning points, like more than 3?

  6. Power has several meanings. Power is mostly related to any amount of strength or clout someone has.

To put it simply "have all the money and all the hoes." Thats power by clout

Now by strength: "it's over nine thousaaanndd!"

Clout and strength are what matter to me in terms of power.

  7. I'll be perfectly honest with everyone here.

After I flew off the handle, with everyone following suit, I sorta unneccessarily stoked the fire when it didn't need to be. Dan really hit home with his post. I admit I fucked up and made the mother of all snow-ball effects on the PR forum. I'll sincerely apologize for bringing out the evil side of everyone by my own ignorance and resilience to not settling for less like Chim said.

I don't wanna give up on the forum yet. Dan erased all of our posts, as well as the entire episode this afternoon. I wanna ask for one final chance, a clean slate, cliche to Dan scratching out all the malicious things I said, along with everyone else's. I wanna be a part of something cool, and I'll prove it one last time.

I know I've worn out my welcome since long past, but can I please have a last chance? If I can, I'll use that chance to the fullest ability and not squander it. If I do squander it, I accept the maximum punishment given to me by Hukuna, Ame, or whoever deems fit to punish me.

In short, I'm sorry everybody. I'll try to listen to Chim's suggestions and research my stuff before I go spouting off about nonsense. To prove myself, I'll still ban myself for a week from this thread. Arius' personality will definitely be changed if he's included into chapter 3.

    Peace.

  8. Oi. Cain's novelty to me wore off by Yureyu with his "Senpai" statement. I kinda face-palmed muttering "screw this guy. I swear I would wring his neck if I could."

I know he's your average Disney prince(ss) with the singing and the inneuendo, but bleargh.

Dunno how Ame manages to keep him from going stale. Mutiple kudos for that.

Then again, Ame's sanity probably has been called into question a few times.

  9. Arius is gonna use a Swadloon in his lineup for a while. When I saw Burgh use Leavanny for the first time, I thought it was the most OP PoS Pokemon then.

For the sake of originality I don't think anyone's using a Swadloon yet.

And Henry, you and Arius would be just the BEST of friends if you and him weren't such jerks. It would be funny to see two jerks become friends. Almost paradoxical.

  10. I still will take Chim's idea of the risk over reward principle. I wasn't even gonna use this move in chapter 3. I stated it several times before.

Let's just end our bickering. It was a good idea in the beginning and eventually all of us tore it apart, ate it, and shat it out. I seem to be misinterpreting everyone and everyone seems to be misinterpreting me.

Please no more on the subject. I won't drag it through the dirt again if no one else does.

  11. I understand power playing and god-modding already, but it seems like this word has lost meaning around here. If I'm asking way too much from the mods, then I apologize and I'll drop the suggestion completely.

I'm trying to respect y'all to the best degree I can when posting, but I'm getting no feedback to actually modding the combo itself, other than guidelines.

I'm sorry I'm trying to be creative but countering a move in the anime just can't happen every single time. A Hyper Beam can't just be absorbed nor can a Body Slam be reversed all the time.. I hope everyone (including myself) sees reason and we'll all congregate as a happy group of RP'ers for chapter 3

  12. Okay, counter time then. I'll list three easy counters to the Muso Renge.

    1. Typing. A Ghost type will shut down the combo entirely, a Psychic, Fairy, Bug, or Poison will weaken it.

    2. Timing. The Pokemon using it will not be invisible, and it would also depend on the target's perceptive ability. If the target is anything with esper/aura abilities, it could use split second timing to seek an opening to slip out or counteract.

    3. Endurance. The move cannot be used repeatedly. After once, the Pokemon will be short of breath for exerting that much force. Twice and the Pokemon would be on it's knees panting and probably sore. If the target Pokemon is resilient enough, it can tire the user, or the target can use Protect to block. (Any Pokemon can learn Protect).

I don't see any suggestions or help either on how to nerf this combo to meet guidelines. All I hear is "powerplaying" and "near god-modding". I would apperciate any help. This combo involves Close Combat and Extremespeed. CC is itself a combo but it's one attack in a rapid assault.

Anywho, peace out, I'm welcome to suggestions.

  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xkLvFTB6_8 I'm shooting for a nerfed version of this. I'd like to see how many sequences, not singular, attacks they see in here. I see 3, but Chim's and Surge's logic might say 4-6.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMrCxE3_rws If the first one doesn't fly with Chim, Surge or anyone if I cannot nerf it enough, this will be a sort of substitution. I only see 2 sequences of hits here. If you say three, I'd like to hear why you think so.

  14. Well considering basically that whole combo relies on landing the extreme speed, it won't be too reliable. Plus the whole pushback thing won't be all that affective if you factor a pokemon,s weight or its typing. Like hell a lucario will not be pushing back a probopass with extreme speed. Just don't go heavy on reliant combos, and give your opponent a chance to react and you'll be fine

I'll give a little physics lesson then. I understand that a Lucario cannot move a Probopass by crashing with Extremespeed. The Lucario would have to have enough momentum to make your opponent fly away. By "fly", I mean like maybe 20-25 mph.

P(Momentum) = Mass x Velocity. A Lucario weighs about 120 lbs. and I'll assume it's going at maybe 20-25 mph, not under Extremespeed. The Lucario's momentum would equal anywhere from 2400 to 3000 lbs. That momentum goes into an elastic collision, where the two objects don't stick.

Mass1xVelocity1 (Lucario) + Mass2xVelocity2 (target) must = Mass1xVelocity1 + Mass2xVelocity2 afterwards. It also depends on said Pokemon getting hit. Lighter Pokemon will go faster, and larger Pokemon will go slower. We can also assume the Pokemon getting hit by this move is moving at 0 mph because it couldn't react in time. The Lucario's force would multiply greatly in which case.

Sorry if I made your brain hurt from math.

  15. I'll only say this to round out Muso Renge. The ultimate problem will be executing the Extremespeed at first. The Lucario is screwed if the Pokemon can strafe the Extremespeed or time it to counter.

Extremespeed is not teleporting. The easiest way to counter is to fight speed with more speed, Greninja and similar can outspeed the Lucario. If we talk anime logic, Extremespeed is not that fast.

There is also the sake of Counter or Protect. The move is not a shield breaker.

I'll end by saying the 3 hits you mean is actually 2. The tackling then speeding around is kinda 1 motion, then the Close Combat flurry is one technical attack.

NOTE: I am not using the Lucario I am mentioning in chapter 3. It will be a Riolu and stay as such until later one. The example I make is a Lucario trained expotentially longer. It might learn Full Metal Cross or start to learn it because no one complained about that one much.

  16. Not gonna go overboard on the OP factor of my moves. They will be balanced like Muso Renge requires a Lucario to know at least Close Combat and Extremespeed first, then practice to pull off the move successfully. Would probably require a strike to a precise spot. The physics would not be to messed up since Extremespeed is travelling at a "near invisible speed". It would be more like a coup de grace to end it.

Everything has a trade-off. Naruto loses control over himself when the Kyuubi takes over. Goku becomes more frantic and risks more energy at the higher level of Saiyan. Each gate of the Hidden Lotus risks more injury and possibly death. List goes on, but I'll end it there.

  17. So what about original moves? Like combos? I.E - Lucario uses Extremespeed, crashes into an opponent, sending them flying. Then it uses Extremespeed to run behind the opponent, barraging them with a Close Combat flurry, ending it with striking them down.

I call that the Muso Renge combo.

Or other moves that seem reasonable, like same Lucario making an iron fist for punching WITH POWER rather than speed. I call it Full Metal Cross. Would make it have severe drawbacks to using it so it's balanced.

I've seen weird moves on here, such as a Spheal making an icicle sculpture with it's own unique move.
