Trivia Time: Porygon2 is the only Pokemon with a numeral in its name, thus making a nicknamed one in Gen II unable to return to its species name, as there were no numbers available to use in the nickname screen. It is also the only Pokemon that both evolves by trading and needs to be traded to evolve again. Of all Pokemon that can evolve, Porygon2 has the highest base stat total, at 515.

It is also the only evolution introduced after the generation of its pre-evolution that is able to evolve again. Porygon2 is the only one in its family to not receive an audible voice despite having a cameo in Super Smash Bros. Melee, where Pokemon have recorded voices. This also makes it the only out of the first 493 to not have a voice.

In Gen II, it is possible for Porygon2 to have both effects of Curse. One is by simply using it to the non-Ghost-type effect of Curse. The other is by using either Conversion or Conversion 2 to change its type to Ghost and have the Ghost effect of Curse. The other two Pokemon that can do this are Smeargle and Porygon.
