  1. Competitively, as she plays, Ice is actually a really strong typing. Coupled with Walrein she has her type disadvantage against fire cut. So unless you happen to have gotten the vulpix from way earlier in the game - I didn't as I don't like Vulpix - then there's not much to do.

Also bare in mind that numerous pokemon in her team are actually coupled with Snow Cloak AND BrightPowder that raises their evasion even when Hail has left the screen. Coupled with that, her pokemon are fast and hard hitting with a variety of speed reducing moves. So really - she isn't all that easy, and that's the point of her.

  2. So I need to go back in the game and train these pokemon upto level 50 to stand a chance at beating Serra?

    Christ.

I understand that Blizzard has a low accuracy - I run a hail team myself. It's just hard to believe when you fight battles in which it doesn't seem to miss, even with Rain Dance up.

  3. And then there's the problem of Froslass, who can't be outsped by 'anything' on my team - even after two DD from my Gyarados...

This is one of those leaders that I genuinely think 'stuff it' I have better things to do.

    :(

  4. So after playing for hours straight I've hit a brick wall.

Forget Aya and this nonsense about her being hard to beat - Serra is an actual nightmare.

100% accurate blizzard - even with Rain Dance in effect... 100% accurate moves missing more often than hitting - not in hail...

Is there something I'm missing here?

The only things I can think of are that her Mamoswine AND Glaceon both have brightpowder attached... But then it's nigh on impossible to trick them both away when their Blizzards are still hitting both pokemon every turn... There's no let up!

    Help!!

  5. Just an update...

I uninstalled wine, again, and reinstalled with the winebottler combo from http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/ and it seems to run perfectly fine...

    Which is slightly annoying.

This brings me to another problem however - I experimented a little earlier after getting bored lesson planning for the new term and found I could get the game to work with wineskin. I think I found something on this earlier, can't remember who wrote it though.

My question is - now that I've safely worked out that Pokemon Reborn will run in my newly installed version of wine - is there a way for me to get the save file from the wineskin version?

  6. ............oh. i thought you meant it was an error message from the game itself, not from wine. well, that... means a whole lot of nothing to me.

Someone who has- well, touched a mac ever- might be able to help me figure this out maybe?

Otherwise I'm not really sure why this is an issue.

My recommendation is to try a different computer or a different emulator to play it but I realise that's not always possible... You can try uploading your save file so that I can attempt to confirm that it isn't an issue with that

    But

For now I might have to throw in the towel with this wine error. x.x

I can't even get a save file because the game doesn't allow me to get anywhere to save :(

    [EDIT]

What else can I use to run the game then? I've tried to run it using desmume and it won't let me load the .exe file, as I assume it needs a rom file...

  7. The error message I get is 'game .exe has encountered a problem and needs to close'

When you go into 'View as' - that's what it comes up with.

I think I probably have the same error log as that.

  8. When I get my game working, I'm hoping to find a Yamask.

I've come across two areas on YouTube and using the pokemon location guide here I'm a bit confused.

Is Yamask found in the abandoned factory, or the abandoned power plant? If the latter, where? There's the cave with Croagunk inside, but then there's only the gym...

I'm aware this is farther on in my game and I need to get started first, but I'm set on a ghost type and I'm not sure whether I can wait for the Bysydysjfns lands where Aya resides for Gastly and Misdreavus.

  9. Oh sorry, forgot to mention something!

I looked in the FAQs and deleted the music in the two folders as it suggested - one was meteor boss admin battle or something like, and then the second was a full delete of the music in that folder.

    The problem still happened after!

Just had a quick look through the forums - delete the Peridot music also, it didn't play as the game started and the screen came - however it caused the game to crash sooner, after the dialogue had stopped between Julia and I as opposed to moving after the dialogue.

  10. Hey guys.

I'm hoping that this will be the only threat I have to create on here with reference to crashes and the like.

I've downloaded Pokemon Reborn in the past hour and have been trying to run it on Wine. I get as far as the screen with Ame and Julia, but as soon as Julia tells me to go to the Grand Hall and I move - the game crashes.

I don't really know what to try or do as Wine seems to work absolutely fine for other applications, (granted it may not work for Pokemon Reborn but that's why I'm posting here!).

The error message that becomes available doesn't seem to want to copy - command and C won't copy it from the windows based emulator I'm guessing.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance
