    Why do people here hate Smogon?

    They're well organized, very popular, and just generally really good at what they do. If you don't want to play by their rules, for whatever reason(s), then don't. Just don't be upset by the fact that a good majority do. Some might interpret some Smogonites attitude about Pokemon meta-gaming as arrogance, but you have to realize their opinions are quite well founded...

    Y'know, most people against Smogon are people who are upset by the fact that they ban certain things and create sets that are widely used which "takes the fun out of the game". Frankly, these people are idiots who don't understand what the concept of meta-gaming is. Things are banned when the meta-game begins to centralize around them. There's a difference between setting up your 6 Pokemon team so it can deal with the top 20 or so Pokemon in their respective tier than having to dedicate a Pokemon and/or your stragety to dealing with just one. And sets are created to correlate with the usage statistics. Some Pokemon has a lot of Special Defense EV investment on it's more defensive sets? There's a reason for that. If you actually played their meta-game, you'd probably find fairly quickly that it's needed to take hits from certain threats that would otherwise wreck it. Oh! But what if I find one of the sets to be obsolete compared to my own? Well, pat yourself on the back, that's meta-gaming: designing your stragety to deal withthe the environment. Smogons sets are simply platforms, albiet very good platforms, but platforms non the less. They're open to your own improvement and alteration. Never once have I met a Smogonite who believed Smogon's sets to be the truth to solving world hunger and complete and utter perfection. No, generally they share my opinion on the matter, that opinion being that you should run the standard sets unless you can come up with something that actually WORKS, and not just be different for the sake of being hipster. That's not meta-gaming, and you will fail. I promise you, that you WILL fail if you do that... in other words you're gonna have a bad time. And yes, Smogonites will look down on you for being a hipster.

    And that's all I have to say about that. If you don't enjoy it, just walk away and let those who do carry on with their own buisness. They're not hurting anyone or anything.

    Well that's good, cuz that'll help make it work for you. There's still a lot of uncoscious factors that still guide or limit what you do. It's easier for me to work with what's there than just create a whole new place or thing out of nowhere.

    @ Ashka- And yeah, being too self-conscious and aware will wake you up cuz it'll take over too much control from your subconcious.

    That might explain last night... ^^

    It's kind of ironic that I found this topic at this time, because last night I had my first experience of knowing that I was dreaming (wouldn't call it lucid dreaming, because I failed...). It was extremely short lived, however, because I immediatly started shaking (in real life). Almost like I was having a seizure. As in, full body trembling, and even almost flopping. Then I woke up...

    Is that normal? Can anyone else relate? If anyone knows about this, how do I prevent it from happening? Any advice would be appreciated, because now I kind of want to get into this whole lucid dreaming thing.

    Very well crafted team I must say.

    Mega Lucario seems to be a very rare sight on Show Down, despite it being a very effective Pokemon in the current Meta Game.

    Pretty good synergy as well, and I'm always a fan of Toxic/Sub/Protect/EQ Glsicor, I haven't made a 6th Gen team without it so far...

    I finds quite funny; we celebrate a holiday that is full of thanks, and then the next day we go out a buy things, the two just contradict each other.

    ... What ever made you think America was a richly cultured society? This is a place where you can find a fast food restaurant around every corner... Case and point.

    Anyway, I will be waiting patiently until Saturday to watch all of the phone recorded videos of people getting trampled over, or of some entitled bitch getting punched in the face for taking a PS4 out of someone's cart.

    I've heard nothing but negative things... Hopefully the franchise will finally just die.

    EDIT: OK so I did like MW4 and really enjoy WaW and BLOP Zombies, but that's it.

    Unless you have some strict principle against doing that... But why would you?

    I'm very happy with this, but I'd like to point out the fact that the reason most characters in movies are white is because movies are usually made in mostly white countries. There's no racism behind that...

    In a video game however, ESPECIALLY a fangame of a series which is widely praised for its diversity of characters, it's kind of ridiculous not to have racial and gender (won't hesitate to say it, Reborn's a clam fest....) diversity... Without a proper story explanation anyway. I know this is an anime, not a video game, but take Attack on Titan for example. The reason everyone is white is because it takes place in Europe. If it took place in Africa, I'd expect everyone to be black. Which brings me back to the point I was making about movies...

    But I digress. Ya' done good Ame. :D

    Still, I've always seen Absol's speed cited as the reason it isn't in higher tiers. I've been playing a game with a hacked Speed Boost Absol running the moveset I wrote in my post and it's amazingly effective.

    I think Speed Boost would be awesome on pretty much everything. Still, Speed Boost Absol does sound particulary incredible.
