Feared this... it's the reason I originally had asked @DreamblitzX for help: I'm currently on a low-end netbook, and I needed someone to check if the mod caused noticeable lag on a machine that doesn't have background lag already.
Can you please tell me if this version (with the cursor image disabled) also does lag for you?

    SWM - Mouse+NoCursor.rb

Also, can you please tell me which operating system are you on, and if the unmodded Reborn is ever laggy on your machine?

P.S. None of the mods mess with the speed-up function (it's called pbTurbo() in the game scripts), so while it may be that some make the game too heavy for the machine to handle the speed-up, they don't actually overwrite that function.

EDIT: On further investigation, it turns out that the Mouse mod messes with pbTurbo indirectly... I'm uploading a fixed version as SWM v39

Will take a look at the script when I get home.

I'm on Windows 10 Pro, latest updates, and unmodded doesn't lag at all. My laptop's got a 7700HQ in it.

Lemme know if you want help testing anything or help possibly programming. Always happy to.

  2. Can confirm it happens to me as well. This is a mostly vanilla version of E18, with only one PBS file being changed.

    What.PNG

EDIT: I used debug to skip past the fern battle. Oddly enough it doesn't happen in the battle with Aya. Though I didn't OHKO her Pokemon the first turn.

If you're stuck here, you can drop into debug, hit CTRL as the battle is starting, and skip it. I can also help out and fix any save files if anyone is stuck here. Just PM them to me.

  3. Hey, just wanted to ask if this was going to be updated to E18 anytime soon, since it just released.

Otherwise I was gonna work on getting this updated.

EDIT:: Okay maybe not, there is a lot more to this than I realized... I'll look into it at least.

  4. Today was shit. Overcast and only 65-70F. Tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous and sunny though.

Looks like the Nebrask, Kansas and Northeast Colorado are gonna get railed here on Saturday, at least according to the latest SPC convective outlooks.

  5. Just an FYI for everyone; there's an extremely dangerous security flaw that has just been revealed in the last few days. It allows attackers to read contents from protected memory, and it affects all Intel CPUs made in the last 23 years, and partially affects AMD and ARM processors.

In layman's terms, it would let even a webpage read passwords, encryption keys, and other secure content from your computer without you knowing.

The fix for this is going to be in an update from Microsoft on Tuesday. Macs may already have an update, and Linux I know already has the patch in the mainline kernel, so keep an eye for any updates, and install them ASAP.

This fix does incur a not insignificant performane penalty on computers, ranging from 5% to 50% depending on the exact task and CPU. Your computer *will* be slowed down though regardless by this fix, but please install it anyways. This is a dangerous security flaw, with known working exploits.

@Tempest That set-up is incredible, good job putting it together. I'm loving the sleek black finish on the table, and how organised it all is. 4 computers, 2 consoles and a TV may be a bit excessive, but it's quite impressive how up to date everything is. May I ask how often your buy new gear, everything seems very new.

On that note, do you ever have problems making space for work materials on your desk? it seems kinda small, and has little space to move the keyboard aside.

Only 3 computers actually... My desktop, laptop and Surface. I use all of them, so it's not too much for me. I run a ton of VMs off the desktop (why it has two graphics cards), and I use my Surface a lot for school.

Most of this is fairly new. My Surface is 8 months old and my laptop is 2 months old. I got the desktop used off eBay a few months ago, and upgraded the RAM and CPUs with used parts off eBay; the hard drives and the RX 480 and RX 460 are all brand new... I spend too much money at Microcenter.

I don't often have a lot of papers and stuff to deal with, but when I do, there's usually plenty of room. I don't often have my laptop and Surface up there at once. Usually just one at a time. I can push my laptop a ways back too. It's a lot bigger than it looks.

  7. Guess what everyone!? It's @BlueMoonIceCream's birthday! The Arcanine is 19 years old today. He's active in the arcade, and mainly the predict thread, but you'll find him more on Discord. If you haven't gotten the chance to get him know him yet, you're missing out. He's one of my favorite people in Reborn, and one of my best friends.

    Happy birthday man. Love ya.
