Is it possible to get a female starter Pokemon?

I'm starting out the game and I want to get a female starter Pokemon. I know that the gender ratios are skewed towards male starters, so I've been resetting the game to right before I select the Pokemon in the starter room. However, they're all still male. When do the Pokemon "spawn" in this scene? Is it possible to get a female Fennekin? Thanks
