I might be the odd one out here, but until recently, I was pretty much in the "Not My Thing" category and would often make harmless fun of those with a waifu. But then certain game and certain character came to me by February 2015 and my opinion on waifus changed quite a lot.
In games, I tend to either connect to my customized avatar to a "That's literally me!" level or a "Meh, just another character in the game/story" level. Guess which one was in Awakening... On my first run, I choose Cordelia and started being on the "For the Lulz" and a pinch of "Character Attachment. THEN on my 2nd run you can guess what happened. Something clicked. Since then, I've been largely on the "Character Attachment" category with a tiny approach to the last (or first) one. And for some weird reason it only happened with this game.
P.S. I've been meaning to post in this topic almost since it's creation but I could post untli now ;w; -

Ok so I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole episode, something that hasn't happened in a while. I wasn't ready for this, so much happened.
I'll start with how Roman and Neo handled Ruby so well, she couldn't do anything to them at all. Here I thought Ruby vs Neo was a fair battle, more than Yang vs Neo at least. If it weren't for Neo's sword-umbrella and the Grimm, she wouldn't have made it out of it (except, you know... plot armor). Also, I'm a little surprised the offed Torchwick that easy, I wonder if we saw tha last of him... Oh well! Moving on...!
Man, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT when I May Fall was rocking in the background and Velvet payed homaje to the trailers (her weapon lived up to the hype in my opinion), and Weiss stood up and summoned an arm of her knight. Completely amazing.Shed some tears tbh.
QROW'S SCYTHE HYPE BOIS. And Ironwood's more metal than I expected, interesting. Overall Ironwood has been a lot better than I imagined tbh.
Now, that scene. Damn, Adam truly is fucked up. What he kept saying to Blake was downright creepy, and looks like he's really ruthless. He stabbed Blake, Skywalker-ed Yang like nothing and to top it off tried to behead Blake (I skipped a beat there, honestly). He's a much better villian in my eyes now, despite all the edginess. Can't wait to see how this situation ends.
And Cinder got everything according to keikaku. I was pretty scared for Pyrrha that whole scene tho. Goddammit Jaune, you had ONE job! It's a bit sad she killed Laura Bailey- I mean Amber so soon... Guess she wasn't relevant anymore. Since the power tranfer was interrupted midway, people are wondering if Pyrrha did got some of the maiden's power, that would be interesting. And Cinder vs Ozpin hype! Finally! But I hope Ozpin doesn't get the Yamamoto/Dumbledore treatment...
This was an amazing episode. Can't wait for next week as always, but there's extra hype for the finale. Here's hoping they don't rush the ending like Volume 2. -
Yeah, lots of set up for the next episode. Ruby vs Neo, Weiss vs Mech(?), Blake vs Adam and possibly Ozpin/Jaune & Pyrrha vs Cinder... They sure know how to keep me hyped.
Finally Ironwood did something himself. Too bad he's problably gone now.
I'm liking the new Grimm, but where are the Goliaths? -

Holy shit. Where do I start...
Well, I certainly thought that Yang would get punished besides being disqualified. I'm glad though. But why would Blake even doubt about Yang? Sure, Adam might have been more aggresive and all, but Blake knows Yang wouldn't do that. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't like it.
Ayyy JNPR shenanigans. I liked how Nora and Ren tried to prepare Pyrrha for her (possible at that time) upcoming fight.
Qrow continues to deliver. It surprised me that he (kind of) revealed Raven's situation so soon, I wonder if Yang will continue her search actively now that she knows, or will calm down for a while.
I loved Jaune & Pyrrha's moment. It felt to me that Jaune has really grown as a character, and shows Pyrrha, "The Invincible Girl", in a... pityful situation. Favorite scene of the episode.It also doesn't help that I'm a huge Arkos shipper and the ship came thru. :]Ha! It would be really funny if Velvet's secret weapon box thingy was her camera, nice contrast with all those big, cumbersome swords and firearms. Now, if it really is her weapon, what does it do? It captures the soul of those who Velvet took a picture? We'll never know...Also, pretty convenient that she knew about Mercury and told Ruby about it. Oh well, roll with it.
And finally, the last scene. I also wondered at first why would Ruby go to the backstage after seeing Emerald? And WHY was Mercury there if he was supposed to lay low like Cinder said? Didn't made a lot of sense but whatever, hopefully Ruby learnt from her mistakes and would not try to might Merc without Crescent Rose. AND PENNY vs PYRRHA, OH SHIT. This will not end well.
Favorite episode so far, so pumped for next week. -

Looks like next chapter is going to be a flashback episode. That's new in RWBY. It may be not as well though.
Cinder's backstory and how and why Roman, Em and Merc follow her AND maybe how she stealed Amber's powers? Nice, finally. I actually thought the hooded woman was Summer at first glance (went HOLY SHIT btw), but looking closely, it seems like Amber.

speaking of theorys heres one: each of the four maidens have one dust power
summer-fire
winter-ice
fall-wind
spring-thunder
according to the dust WoR those are the four basic types of dust and i noticed they each correspond to the weather in each season
im sure many others have made this connection but i still want to know what everyone else thinks
Could be, but I'm not too sure about Summer being fire and Fall being wind. It's heavily implied that it was Cinder who attacked Amber and stole half of her powers. We know Cinder uses Fire to attack, so maybe it's the other way around.
I'll leave it like this for now:
Spring - Thunder
Summer - Wind
Fall/Autumn - Fire
Winter - Ice
Now, we can speculate about who are the other maidens.
Spring: COULD be Nora. It was revealed that she had not parents, and her semblance is Lighting based.
Summer: I'm pretty sure it's Ruby. I mean, her mother Summer died on a mission (she could have been attacked for her powers for all we know). And Wind is often associated with speed, like Ruby's semblance.
Fall: We know it was originally Amber, with Cinder stealing half her power and now Pyrrha will get Amber's half.
Winter: I really doubt it's Winter tho. That would be bad writing. No, I believe it's either Weiss OR her mom. We haven't heard anything about her, not even if she's dead.
Besides, that would make 2 maidens in team RWBY and 2 maindens in team JNPR, it's pretty fitting IMO.

OH MY GAWD. WAT.
So may I say "F*ck Miles and Kerry!!"? This has to be one of the worst/best cliffhangers in RWBY, because we won't get a new episode 'til next year...
Okay! First up, Pyrrha and the Maidens. It was nice, more than I expected, actually. Saw a comment about something that cought my eye.. Remember that in Vol. 1 Blake was reading a book about man with 2 souls fight for control of his body? Probably not, but could be foreshadowing.
Yang vs Merc. It was kinda dissappointing tbh. Can't really tell if Merc lost on purpose, but I believe he did, only for Cinder's plan. Speaking of which...
Yang's leg-breaking "issue". We know it's rigged, but how? An illusion? By who? Neo? Emerald? Camera angle? Dust joints everyone smoked? Who knows! But why Yang though? Cinder knew she was onto them? Too many questions! -

Yang vs Merc hype! this fight has been teased since Vol. 2, so I'm ready.
Honestly, I doubt that Yang wins, at least legitimately. Maybe Merc surrenders or something.

Not entirely true, Neo does make a bit of a cameo in the first fight with Merc, Em, and Cinder. Her hair was dyed though.
I know, I meant outside of that battle. We haven't seen her in the crowd, or in her team's room. Makes you wonder where is she while everything is happening.

You guys have to take into account that just before that scene, Emerald was with Mercury and Cinder, who was plotting something about Penny.
Still, we have yet to see Neo in Beacon. -
Man, I chuckled so hard when Ruby asked Penny if her teammate knew about her "Beep boop does not compute" thing. Absolute gold right there.
Speaking of Penny, it's pretty much confirmed now that Cinder will do something to her and/or take control over her. It was a popular theory anyways.
Highlight of the RWBY vs FNKY fight was the music (gotta love that I Burn) and Weiss' 'sacrifice', it really shows you how much she has grown as a character.
And finally, Pyrrha. That was certainly ominous, why would she smile like that? Maybe, as some of you said, it's not really her... -
Hey, did anyone noticed how Weiss summon could be the Knight from the White trailer or something similar? We also got info on hereditary Semblances. Some are, while others don't.
And is Yang that stupid to not ask her uncle about the woman in team STRQ that's so similar to the one that saved her? That's what annoyed me the most in this episode.
Merc was savage tho, it also looks like Em's semblance is shape-shifting. -

Considering we've yet to see death in the series that's not a Grimm I don't think we'll see any humans characters kick the bucket anytime soon if at all. ((least not that I remember.)) Not saying it could never happen, but now? Probably not... I just don't think outside of Grimm this will be that sort of series.
There's been death in the series tho.
Tuckson from the bookstore at the beginning of Volume 2 and multiple Faunus in the tunnels at the end of the same volume.
While minor deaths, it opens the possibility of characters REALLY dying. Of course, I still don't think someone from the main teams will die, at least not yet.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Emerald and Mercury's plan does not involve killing Coco and/or Yatsuhashi, since that would compromise their cover at Beacon and therefore, Cinder's scheme.
Personally, I think CFVY just got a terrible match up with Emerald and Mercury (maybe that's why Cinder choose them). Coco being a slowed down by her massive gatling gun and Yatsu being so big in general against 2 pretty fast fighters.
also shes not real so if something did happen to her it still wouldnt matter (i am a waifu hater come at me)
I'll take the bait. So? People don't like when the characters they love die or get injured, it's only natural. Also, we know you don't like that kind of stuff, but you don't have to bring it or try to instigate an argument everytime you see stuff like this, it's hardly the place.

Didn't the WoR Dust episode aired before we knew Cinder had "sewed" dust in her clothing? I can't quite remember...
I feel like WoR exists for two reasons:
1) Explain basic lore and/or Remnant's mechanics
2) Foreshadow future events to happen in the series.
I personally like them, but I wish they would be longer, at least 5 minutes... I remember that in volume 2 we had to wait over 2 weeks for a 1 minute and 30 seconds of WoR. That was truly awful. -
Hmm, I still think that Lin might be the champion, but when I stop for a second: That would be weird if Saphira's the last gym leader before Victory Road, right?
I mean, you fight a Dragon gym leader, and then a Dragon champion. Repetition?
That actually happened in G/S/C and HG/SS. Clair was the last Johto leader and Lance was the Champion, while both being dragon-type trainers (although Lance didn't have a proper "only dragons" team).
Personally, I don't think Lin's the champion. Maybe ex-champion, but not the current one.
Still have no idea who is the real champion tho.

So today's WoR was as short as I expected (sadly), but it opened a lot of conspiracy theories regarding Atlas, Weiss & Winter, and even Summer and Taiyang.
Worth the wait? Maybe.
Onwards to Episode 4! Hopefully RT will release the "Next up in RWBY" short a bit early to build up more hype.
Replacing Battle music files

I couldn't find a proper sub-forum for a technical-ish question so hopefully this is the right place (my apologies if it isn't).
Well, I'm about to start EP19 after I last played 18 like, 3 years ago. Then I remembered I replaced some files in the BGM folder (Rival battle theme for example) with no issue since those were straight up ".mp3". Thing is, I was about to do the same but noticed the BGM files are now ".ogg".
Can I still replace them directly with the mp3 files or do I have to convert them?
